Just for a few moments, I want you to once again turn to the Gospel of John tonight. We're in chapter number 4. John chapter number 4. For some reason God is interested tonight in the women of the Bible. I want to study what God has said under the inspiration of the Spirit of God in this particular chapter. We began just an introductory thought Monday evening in John chapter number 1. And we referred to the man that God used, referring and speaking of John the Baptist. And then as we simply stated the message of that wonderful miracle in John chapter number two. It's an amazing thing to understand and to do that the miracles of God, they are available to the children of God. Do we realize that this even is the same God today that he was yesterday? And for all we know today, he has a miracle working power. It wasn't a matter of something that was off in the stars or something that was not in reach of humanity, but it was simply a matter of putting something back in your pocket that belongs in your pocket. Can I say as a child of God, It is a matter as it was at the wedding that day to put the word of God back in our systems and in our lives to put the power of God where it distinctly belongs in the life of the children of God. So we spoke of a miracle at the wedding and then last night for a few moments, at the end of chapter number three, We were reminded of the mandate of the children of God. That's why the Bible said, John said, of the inspiration of the Spirit of God. It is of utmost importance he rise in Cree. He must become so big that you and I become so small. There is so little that we are not seeing. We are as a child and kneeling at the feet of our mother or our father. We are in a place of humility. He must increase. I must increase. We are searching and studying in the context of the scripture. If I am a student of the Bible, I am not looking for something that is not there. I am not trying to read Because the Bible is written in a literal format. In other words, what the Bible says is true. What the Bible says is right. God is not trying to hide what is available to the children of God. So we are searching for this context. We were reminded at the very beginning of this study in John chapter number 20 and verse number 31, John writes, that these are written that we may know that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God. So every miracle that you would study in the Gospel of John, every paragraph, every chapter that you read in the Gospel of John, it is there to remind us, to reiterate, to emphasize that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God. So watch John chapter number four and verse number one. The Bible says, when therefore the Lord knew, I love that, Now the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John. We find two positions of God in one verse. He's referred to as the Lord, but now he is mentioned as his name, the Lord Jesus Christ. He made and baptized more disciples than John. Though Jesus himself baptized, now watch the Bible now, But his disciples, he left Judea and departed again into Galilee. I love verse number four. And he must need to go through Samaria. In other words, one put it this way, he needed to go to a specific place. And I say it this way, We understand this passage. This is the Wednesday evening crowd. You have read these verses many, many times, but isn't it wonderful to know for sure when I was lost and on my way to hell, when I needed somebody to talk to me, I'm glad it wasn't a matter of me coming to an altar. I'm glad it wasn't a matter of me joining the church. I'm glad that I couldn't get to God. That's what God gave to me. That nobody else could write in my direction. He made a beeline to my direction. He must lead to go through Samaria. So what's the word of God? Verse number five. And then the coming of Jesus to a city of Samaria. which is called Sybar, near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph. Now Jacob's well was there. There is something now for generations upon generations It has fed the thirst of the people. It has satisfied the thirst of not one family, but many families. Of not one generation, but many generations. But it's taken them that way on. He labored it. He administrated it. He oversaw the administration of digging up that well. And still in that day, and still in that hour, it was still satisfying the thirst of the people. So was the Bible, the word of God. Now, Jacob's well was there. Jesus, therefore, being weary with his journey. He sat us on the well and it was about the sixth hour. We are reminded of the humanity of Christ in this one particular verse. Are we not understanding tonight that as he became a baby in a manger, he had all feelings, he had all emotions, he had all senses inside of him. Though he was still God, robed in the flesh. That's why John said, as we study this book, everything is pointed to the fact that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, but he was God upon this earth. He was all God, not ceasing to be all man. He was hungry, but he was the bread of life. He was thirsty, but he satisfies the longing of your soul. He was tempted in all points. You and I have picked it up. God did not see it. He did not see it. He could not see it. He would not see it. He was hard hearted, not cheesing it to be all that. In his humanity, he needed to rest. In his humanity, He was weary. Somebody said, I'm tired. I'm weary. I've been working all day. Can I say it? Every feeling, Jesus felt it. Every situation, Jesus was there. He was weary from his journey. So watch verse number seven. Look at the request of the Savior, the introduction. There come a woman of Samaria to do one thing, to draw water. But look what Jesus said unto her. Give me to drink. Can you imagine the water of life was thirsty in the flood. The water that provided everlasting living water, a spring of living water. He was thirsty in the flood. But what's this now? He wasn't there to drink of that well. He had a greater purpose. He had a greater intention. when it's time to stand up and work. Oh, but God has something greater. God has something greater. Thank God for a place we can sit at when we're hungry and thirsty. If you never eat another loaf of bread, if you never have another piece of meat, if you have the Lord Jesus Christ, He's more than enough. He'll show us why the Lord gave us His name. That's the request of the Savior. Number two, there's the reaction from the Samaritan. Verse 3, for his disciples, going away, not only was he thirsty, he was hungry, until the city. Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me? Whichever woman of Samaria, for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans. Isn't it a wonderful thing? When I was a sinner, Why would a king have anything to do with me? When I was on my way to hell, when my father was a drunkard without God, I'm glad God showed up in the month of August in 1975. When the bathers wouldn't come, when the neighbors wouldn't fight, I'm glad God came down from heaven and He showed up in my house and He came to my family. Who needs another king to ever love someone like you? How is it that the king of all kings would ever come to where I am? Can I say it tonight? He was saved because God came to where he was. God came to your well. God came to your house. It's all because of God's will. There's the reaction. He wasn't supposed to be there. Number three, there's the response. That is spiritual. So there's your thing, how God is looking at this meeting. Jesus answered. It ceased to be about the physical. And it started being about the spirit. The word of God, verse number 10, Jesus answered, said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, Jesus said, and who it is that saith to thee, give me the drink, thou wouldst have asked of him, And he would have given to thee a living water. But watch what the lady shed at the well. The woman said unto him, sir, thou hast nothing to draw with. She was thinking about the physical. She was thinking about the satisfying, just temporary. You know how people are still on drugs. You know how people are still on drugs. You know how people are working so hard, they're going to die and go to hell with a full bank account. And here's the message, here's the phrase, West Virginia's playing. Some of you already know the score. Don't act like you don't. I'll just be a few moments. Watch the Bible. Mark, now, right here, and who? And our father, Jacob. Why would you ask such a question? Because he gave us the well. And drink thereof himself. Not only him, his children, Not only his children, his cattle, it's supplied for his family, it's supplied for his substance, for generations upon generations. This realm has been enough. Who do you really take you are? Can you do more than Jacob? She was thinking in a physical realm, but Jesus was thinking in an eternal realm. He was about to do so for her, that this world could never be enough. He was about to do so for her. that no one else could ever do. I'm here today to be united. If you have ever been recovered, if you have ever been washed in the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, yes, America's economy will fail. Yes, your job will fail. Oh, but I know one tonight, you don't need to fail either. I didn't get no water out of that well. I didn't take something to dry and get water out of that well. Stop digging from the well. I'm going to carry you now. Jesus is still the well of life. Jesus is still the water. There's nothing that you can ever need. He is far more than enough for you. Jesus is still there inside you. Jacob dug a well. But Jesus is the well. Jacob administered. Jacob had a shovel. Jacob worked. Jesus never picked up a shovel. Jesus never had to administrate. He is the bearer of life. He is the walker of life. I'm here to tell you tonight, yes, money will satisfy for a time. Yes, careers will satisfy for a time. But if you have the Lord Jesus Christ, he's plentiful for you. He's plentiful for you. He's plentiful for you. Number one, notice her condition. Verse number 13, exposition. Jesus answered and said to her, who shall ever drink of this water, shall thirst give him. But who shall ever drink of the water that I shall give him, shall never thirst. The water that I shall give him, shall be a hill, a well of water springing up into everlasting life. Her condition, she was thirsty spiritually. There was something inside of her that desired something that was available to her. She tried to satisfy it with an immoral lifestyle. She tried to satisfy it with sin inside of her. Jesus was letting her go. No matter who you are, no matter where you live, no matter how It's not a message, but the Bible is so amazing. It's hard to get through it. Jesus, I need you to come after this. You know what I mean? You weren't looking for Him. He was looking for us. Somebody said, I came looking for Him. Well, you didn't. You were satisfied in your ocean. You could turn over a new leaf. You thought, man, if you'd come to the house of God every now and again, everything would be okay. I wasn't looking for Him. I think He came looking for me. It's time to learn how it works. On your confession, verse 16, Jesus said, Say it, husband. Go call that husband. Come on back. I know we're missing this in churches. I know preachers don't preach this in churches. You do. But Caleb does. I know most don't like this. But you don't get saved until you know you need saved. You can't get saved. until you're lost. It's not about walking down an aisle, repeating a prayer after some Bible college professor. It's about being convicted of the power of the Holy Ghost of God. And the very first thing Jesus said, go call that husband. He didn't say, I love you. Go call that husband. He didn't say, it don't matter how you live it. I'll give you my heart so you'll have to change. I'll save you. Call my husband. Let's see if you're willing to repent and change your life. There's been too many. sitting up some little professionals. They never changed their life. They never repented of their sins. Somebody said salvation is my faith. That's exactly right. I can't repeat without God. It's all because of God's amazing grace. But if you think you're a saint and you never changed your life, you never changed your sins, the Bible said you are a new creation. All things have passed away. The wrong things. Go get the liquor bottle that you've been having. Go get your little pitch in. Put your bottle back. And come back to the way. And we'll continue this conversation. If you're willing to do that. Yeah. Amen. Sold it in 101. What a jerk. You don't have to go through a 12-month program. If you're willing to repent, you'll see. Go call my husband. Watch the Bible. I love the Lord God. The Bible said in verse 16, Jesus said, go call my husband. And the woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said to her, I have no husband. Thou hast well said, because whatsoever you have memorized of the verse, for thou hast had five husbands, and he whom thou were not really concerned that she had five husbands, be careful with that statement, but he was concerned that the one she had now, the one she was living with, the one she was living with, that was not her husband, and she had confessed to God, he's not my husband, we're living in Sinai, we're living on the cross, I want my life to change. Lord, I'm thirsty. I don't know what to do about it. I've always lived this way. I've always lived this way. And I'll say it this way, the very first step to human salvation, it's saying, God, I can't do that anymore. I don't believe it. God, I need the Christ. That's what people need. Hey! Then she made a choice. Verse 19. Yeah. I want to say something to him, sir. What am I trying to have from God? What are you trying to have from God? No wonder we're not having revival. No wonder the power of God is not felt. Many times as we have felt the power of God in the last few evenings of this meeting. She said something is different. I love that word. I perceive that thou art a prophet. Our fathers worshipped in this continent. He said that Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship. That's a strange thing. He never said that yet. Jesus said unto her, woman, believe in the eternal rest day. The hour. You shall neither in this mountain, nor yet in Jerusalem, worship the Father. Ye worship! Ye know not. What? We know what we worship! Well, the salvation is of the Jews. The Bible said it's terminus, reminding us of the hour coming. And now is when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth. Why? For the Father seeketh such to worship Him. Here's the definition of God. God is a spirit and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth. Yes, Martha knew how to get the job done, but Mary knew it was about the spiritual. It was about falling down at the feet. of the Lord Jesus Christ. This is a strange thing. Praise and worship in this modern day and hour. It's about media. It's about abilities. It's about talents. The true, biblical, Holy Ghost worship is slowing up the feet of the Lord Jesus Christ. It's all about humanity. George, Acts 25, the woman. Say it. I don't know what that would say. But she's called Christ. They'd already heard it. When he's come, he will tell us all about it. He's the Savior of the earth. I that speak abundantly. The moment of salvation. Long you've been waiting for, man. The one that can feed your hunger. The one that can quench your thirst. The one that can satisfy your sorrow. The one your grandmother told you about. The one your mother or father taught. I am the one. You've been waiting. I'll tell you why we got a praise tonight. I'll tell you why we got a praise tonight. Jesus. Amen. Amen. She made her choice to call on God. Number four, I'm interested in her change. Verse 27. His disciples, they marveled, they were shocked, He even talked to the woman. The man said, get to the man. He said, let's see what's that all about. They didn't ask him that. They were afraid. Watch this, Southern West Virginia, which I am from. They were so bigoted and prejudiced. They wouldn't talk to her. Isn't it strange? 12 men wanted to go shopping. What's Jesus Proclaim about drugs We complain about our neighbors, we complain about all that's happening in our country, in our state. But God! How many gospel tracts? There are. How many talents have we knocked over? There are many. How often? Have we went to our favorite members? There are. No longer. How often have we went to the ones that have backbited, that have talked, that have lied about us? Yes. Something happened to this lady after Jesus talked to her. Lost her Bible. Verse 28, the woman then left her wife. Went her way into the city. And said out to the man. Don't see a man. She told me I don't think whatever I did was not this. Christ. Here's how we know there's a change In this way, verse 29, 39, not some, many. One said it this way, that is the majority. They took a vote and it would be over 75%. Many. Of whom? The Samaritans. It all started with one. But we got many people addicted to drugs. We got many people addicted to the bottle. I mean, we have an opioid problem in this part of the country. We got many people trying to destroy our state. We got many people trying to destroy our neighborhood. You know who took one? Many. The majority of who? The Samaritans. The Samaritans didn't do it. But that city believed on him. But why? Because the same other woman did. But she testified. He told me it all. I didn't write the answer that time. She didn't take him down to a room. She didn't take him down to a program. She just said, go see a man. Let me tell you about somebody that told me who I was. He told me I was a wicked. He told me I was full of sin. He told me I was living wrong. I talked to him. Yeah. And the majority of those in that area Believe in Jesus Christ. So I wonder, what's the evidence of my salvation? The evidence of her salvation, she became a testimony. She began to witness. She began to tell all those that she lived with that wicked and ungodly life. She went back. Let me tell you about my life. He told me how wicked I was. He changed me. He satisfied me. He's all I've ever been. And all I've ever wanted. What about my life? The evidence of my salvation is not a suit and tie. Why? Because there's many men in Washington, D.C. who want to save their lives. Go see him what Salvation is not standards. Salvation is not your personal conviction. Salvation is the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen. See you there. Amen. All day. Amen. Watch this. It wasn't his disciples. St. Samaria. Right. It was an ungodly lady. It was changed. It wasn't the preachers. It was the lady. Changed. So what's the evidence? How many of us know this? How many of I told you? How many of I would tell you? In other words, it's my cousin that I surpassed in prayer. Many, many years ago, I talked to your cousin and many others about my cousin. A few days ago, I received a phone call. It was my mother, I said, your cousin's mom. Accidentally shot herself last night. He's in the hands of a just God, we know that. But I wonder what tone of call I will receive tomorrow. I wonder who it is. Jesus has been saying it. He'll tell it. But not me. What son? What daughter? Maybe your husband, maybe your wife. What neighbor we don't like? My neighbors are Bible college professors. I think they all need to be saved. Somebody save that neighbor. I got a couple of other neighbors. I love them. They mow the yard. They make the leaves. They paid my fire bill one time. I'm telling you, they're good neighbors. One of my, I assume, they're Christians. And I've never knocked on their door. I do because when I roll my barley by, they look at you and get angry. I don't know. Jesus went to a woman. Nobody else would go to her. But that revived me. Who is in New York? Who is in New York?
