I want you to turn to the Gospel of John chapter number 2. John chapter number 2 in just a moment. I want to begin reading in verse number 1 in this particular portion of Scripture. I began a few weeks ago studying the Gospel of John. Many writers have said that this is considered the most simplistic Gospel in all of the New Testament of the Word of God. Understand why they would make that statement, because John was not a detailed writer. If you study the Gospel of Hebrews, you will find many detailed sections in those chapters, in those paragraphs. But we must also understand that there are things that are emphasized in the Gospel of John that are not emphasized in any other Gospel in the New Testament other than the Word of God. One writer said that when you study the Gospel of John, you will find that the word signs, which is often translated miracles, is found 17 times in the Gospel of John. That same word is only found 28 other times in all the other Gospels of the Word of God. That reminds us, that tells us, John is emphasizing that we still serve a miracle-working God. We still serve a God who brought people to power. We still serve, not a religious leader, but we serve a supernatural miracle-working God. So as you study the Gospel of John, you are looking for those miracles. You are searching for those signs. John is emphasizing the miracle-working power of God. And then, one writer said, that as John is writing under the inspiration of the Spirit of God, you will find the word believe 98 times in the Gospel of John. Now, that same word is only mentioned 29 other times in all the other Gospels of the New Testament of the Word of God. I believe John is reminding us that in every drought, in every storm, whatever situation, we can still put our faith, we can believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. One writer said, not only do we find that this word believe, not only is there signs and miracles, but you will find the word life is mentioned 34 times in the Gospel of John. That is significant because the word life is only mentioned 13 other times In all the other Gospels of the New Testament of the Word of God. Can I say it this way? Somebody said, do you believe in one saying, always saying, not really, but I do believe in eternal life. I do believe in everlasting life. I do believe that once you're a child, you never cease to be a child. You can say anything you want to, but I don't do this. When God saved you, you were saved from your death, from your hell, and from your sins, and now you are alive in the name of Jesus Christ. So John is emphasizing this eternal life, everlasting life, and it is found in the Gospel of John. Now we are reminded as we said this, as we began this particular study on Monday evening, that we are searching for the context of the Scripture. We are looking for the true identity of the purpose and the reason that the writer wrote this under the inspiration of the Spirit of God. In every book of the Bible, you are looking for the key phrase or the key thought. In the New Testament of the Word of God, in every book from Matthew to Revelation, You are looking for the key verse in that particular book. Well, in John chapter number 20 and verse number 31, John said, but these are mentioned by John that you might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God. In other words, everything that you study in the Gospel of John, it is reminding us to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. From the first chapter to chapter number 21, every miracle, every story, every word, every line, every phrase, is so bound in that doctrine that you and I, in this last man hour, we are believing that he was not just a religious leader, he was not just a man living in the flesh, but he was all God, not ceasing to be all man. He was all man, not ceasing to be all God. My friend put it this way, he was so much man that he slept in a boat, but he was so much God that the wind seemed He was so much man that he died upon a tree. But he was so much God that he rose in victory. So John said, I write this to emphasize he was all God and not ceasing to be a man. We can study tonight John chapter number one. That is the very foundational structure of the gospel of John. As a matter of fact, verse number one in John chapter number one, it tells us that in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God. I love this. And the Word was God. And everything is surrounding the thought in chapter one of the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ. Right? Like verse number six. After God reminded us that he created the heavens and the earth, after John reminded us that Jesus was God in the flesh, he was deity, he is deity, all of a sudden John said, there was a man, he was sent by God, and his name was John. Isn't it wonderful to know though God could have used the heavens, though God could have used the trees, Though God could have used the winds and the seas, God chose a man. God chose you. God chose me. That is the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ. Now, enter this in John chapter number two. Watch the Bible. Verse number one in John chapter number two. And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee. And the mother of Jesus was there. Now, we know this as students of the Word of God. Every word in the Bible is there for a reason. I know what the liberals say. I know what the Bible college professors say. Well, there's some accidents and there's some things that the translators added up. And I'll be honest with you, if you're that crippled to have her crunches, you ought not be teaching in a Bible class. You ought not be teaching in a Bible class. I believe this Bible is perfect. I mean, it's holy. Somebody said how that happened. Because if God had enough power to save me, enough power to preserve his word, there are no accidents in the Bible. There are no mistakes in the Bible. This is God's holy word. John said, and. That is a conjunction in the English language that tells you that it is connecting one thing to another thing. John is not changing direction. John is not trying to go in a different way. But he is continuing chapter number one all the way to chapter number two. So John said, Jesus is still God. Jesus is still God in the flesh. Jesus is still a miracle working God. So now all of a sudden, there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee. But I love verse number two. And both Jesus was called Isn't it wonderful to know that Jesus is a gentleman? He did not force his way into the marriage, though he was a part of the marriage. He did not force his way into the wedding, though he was supposed to be in the wedding. You know what the Bible said? He was invited, and then he came. Do you know how you're saying tonight? One day you invited him, and then he came. I'm glad when I called him over here, he didn't come. He didn't turn down the request, but now I belong to Jesus, and Jesus belongs to me, and not for years in time alone, but for all eternity. He was invited to the wedding, and He came. Watch verse number three, it's a lecture. And when they wanted the mother of Jesus, they had no one. There was a concern. In other words, there is something that they used to have, but they no longer have. There is something that they had access to, but now they no longer have access to. This is not the message. But can I say this? There are things that we used to have in our life, the power of God, the anointing of God. There are things that used to be inside of our life, but now they are no longer in our life. There are things that used to be in the congregation. There are things that used to be in Christian holy. The revival that we've seen, the power that we've seen. They simply wanted what they used to have. Number two, there's crucifixion. When I was not yet done, it refers to his crucifixion, his greatest concern. It was not that way, but for him to reveal who he truly was. Yes, he changed the water into wine. Yes, he raised the dead. Yes, he made the lame to walk again. Yes, he calls the blind to see again. But do you understand? He did not come to raise the dead. He did not come to make the lame to walk again. But he came for one reason, and one reason only. My average market come, there was a place for the blind. That was the crucifixion. That was the blood that would be shed. He came to save your soul. He came to save my soul. Somebody said the other day 2,000 years ago, Jesus was born in a manger. That's what I'm saying. 2,000 years ago, he became a baby in a manger. But he always has been. He always will be. I am that I am. He came to bleed and to die for the sins of the world. They wanted what they used to have. There's crucifixion at Novi, but I'm interested in the freedom, in the command at Novi. Let's verse 25. The Bible said his mother said unto the good servants, whatsoever he said unto you, do it. She did not ask the governor of the beach. She did not ask those that were attending the wedding. She did not even ask the guests that were sitting in the aisle. She asked the servants. She asked the ones that she knew would be faithful in fulfilling the command of God. And can I say to my God, we ought not be so concerned about being famous. We ought to be concerned about being faithful. We ought to be concerned about being a star to Jesus. We ought to be concerned about being a servant, because I'll tell you who she can't do that. She approached the ones that would be willing to serve at that wedding. I'll tell you what preachers God's going to use. I'll tell you what church members, God's going to use. It's those that are willing to do whatever He wants. It's those that are willing to do whatever He says. Whatsoever He wants. Hey, you're right. The command was unusual. The command was strange. The command didn't make any sense. Mary said, whatsoever He wants. How are we going to have revival? How are we going to see a moving of God? How are we going to watch God do things we never dreamed of and we never imagined of? Oh, we know how to have church. We know how to give the accolades. We know how to sing the songs. We know how to do what's expected of us. I'm here to tell you tonight that if we're ever going to see a true moving of God, if we're ever going to feel the hand of God the whole of our life, it may seem strange, it may seem unusual, but whatsoever He does, Every mother. Right? Every father. Amen. Every husband. Every wife. Whatsoever he ask, do it. Amen. Can I say these things? Number one, notice the reality of the miracle. Exposition of the reality of the miracle. Watch verse number six. The Bible said that there would sit there six water pots of stone. Watch the custom. After the manna of the purifier of the Jews contained two or three serpents apiece. But notice this, verse number seven. Jesus sat under them till the water popped. Not with wine, but with water. You know what he just said? Just put back in the water pots what belong in the water pot. And I say it this way tonight. It's not real hard to have a miracle in your life. It's not real hard to experience. The miracle working power of God in your life. Just put in your life what belongs in your life. The things of the world don't belong in your life. The film of the world don't belong in your life. I tell you what you ought to do. We ought to read the Bible more than we've ever read the Bible. We ought to pray more than we've ever prayed. We ought to stay faithful to the house of God more than we've ever been faithful. So put that in your Bible. Take these water pots and seal them with what belongs in the three aspects of this glass. And he shouted to them, don't keep it there. I love this. They didn't do it halfway. They filled up so much that when they began to carry it to the governor of the feast, it began to spill out, it began to drop out because they filled it up to the brim. How many times, preacher, have we been in a meeting where we almost see Revival? How many times when we've stepped God's power, we get on the stage and behold the Ghost of God began to speak and it seemed like God. It seemed like we were about to feel the power of God in our life, and then all of a sudden, it stopped. How many times have I prayed? But that was so easy. When God began to pray back to me, I stopped praying and I got up from my knees and I missed what God had for me. I wonder how many services and ideas, how many meetings and ideas God begins to move and God begins to do something wonderful. But the happiness is fierce and we have to go back to the house. God blesses you. God speaks to you. God does things for you. You never dreamed and you never imagined, but you never tell your lost and found friends. You never tell a lost and found brother. You never tell your family what God has done for you. Oh, just keep it in the water pot. Throw it out and give it to somebody else. Throw it out and let the world know what Jesus has done for you. It's good to come to the house of God. It's good to sing in the revival meeting, but we come here that we can go there and tell a lost and found He's the miracle for you. Amen. Amen. Amen. Don't just fill it up. Draw it out. I'm afraid to watch the third aspect of this command. The Bible says, they filled him up, they drew it out, and buried him unto the government of heaven. And what did they do? They buried him. It went to the knee. They took him to who Jesus said to take him to. I wonder who God has told you to take the gospel to. I wonder who God has directly and plainly told you to bear this wonderful story of the death and the burial and the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. Can I say it this way? We must obey every part of the commandment to receive a miracle working in the name of God. Oh, thank God he saved me by grace. Thank God for his mercy. I'm talking about after salvation. We are from Canada to go to a lost and found world. We are commanded to go out into the highways and to the hedges. I'm glad that I am by your heal. He came to my way. I'm glad he saved my soul. But now it's time to tell everyone. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Jesus is as good as we're acting like tonight. Why don't we bury it? Why don't we take it for a loss? We have sipped from the water pots turned into wine this week. Why haven't we taken that same water pot, and told our host neighbor, and told our host friend, let them know they don't have to live that way. They don't have to behave that way. There's three aspects to the command. Spill it out, there it is. Tag it to a host. Hey, hey, hey. The reality of the miracle. But much worse than that, though, is the recreation of the miracle. Watch the Bible, look at the ruler, look at the word of God. When the ruler of the feast tasted the water, that was made one. You know what the Bible said? He took creation and he recreated it. Men can do many things. They can make cars, they can make trucks, they can do many things with technology. They can make Harley Davidson. Somebody say it. I mean, they can do wonderful things. They can do mighty things. I'll tell you what they can't do. They cannot create water. You know what I just said? He took something that he created and he recreated it. He took something that he made and he made it better. You know how you're not saying that you were born the first time, but being you were born the second time. I don't care what the evolutionists say. I don't care what the college professors say about you, Akira, because by the breath of a woman, of a mother, you would not be alive if it wasn't for Akira. You would not be breathing if it wasn't for Akira. I think what's challenging is he put something that he created the first time, and he recreated it the second time. You were born in the same way. There's a recreation of the miracle. There's reality. of America. Number three, there's a reaction of America. Yes, sir. Watch the Bible. Verse number nine, when the ruler of the feast that takes to the water that was made one, he knew not a little bit, he knew not much as well of the service through the water. Somebody, one commentator said, maybe they stuck their fingers in there. And they tasted the blood. Because it was sealed up to the rim. They didn't steal that. And they got some in their hand. The only thing I know is, they knew before the government did. And I say to this lost and dying world, you may not believe us. They're saying you'll never agree with us. The sinners that are out there living an ungodly life, they're living in a way that you and I will never live. Can I say to them, there's things that we know that they don't know. They still trust in this world. They still believe in this world. But we know it's coming back. We know the trouble's gonna sound. There's some things that God still told his children. I'm a part of the family of God. I'm not only was in the book. The reactions of this miracle. Watch the Bible. The Bible said the governor of the feast, You know what he said? You saved the best for last. It don't make any sense. It's not practical. That is not the way we do things. You know, the world is doing it. They're living in their heaven. They're doing everything they can for pleasure. They're doing everything they can for fortune and fame. But isn't it wonderful to know from the top of God, you may not get so down here. There may be problems down here, but the best is yet to come. There will be, but my Jesus, I shall see. I'm just here to tell you tonight, God always saves the best. The children of God in this day and hour are drinking some bitter wine The children of God even in the United States of America We've been drinking some bitter wine. I'm telling you, that won't become a pain. It'll be worth it. It'll be worth it. It'll be worth it. God always saves the best. So I don't know what your situation is. I don't know how dark your day is, but I know this. If you're a child of God, look at this. Amen. I want you to stand if you would, every head bowed, every eye closed.
