We thank You so much for Your goodness. We thank You, Lord, for just Your grace and Your mercy and for our soul's salvation. Lord, we thank You, Father, that You didn't leave us lost in sin. You didn't leave us without hope. And Lord, we just pray that You would bless our service today. We pray, Father, that we would rejoice in our salvation, rejoice in service to You, We look forward to what you're gonna do with us today. We thank you for Cyrus getting saved last week and possible baptism this afternoon. We just pray your blessing on all the things today, in Jesus' name, amen. All the things.
And y'all, if I forget to talk about this, remind me later, okay? Got the whole world in my hands. I'm gonna move this for Brother Travis. Amen, morning everybody. Luke chapter six. Luke chapter six. All of Luke chapter six so far, it has basically been Jesus teaching his disciples how to be disciples of Christ, amen? And so that's what we're gonna continue here on. We'll start in 27 and work our way down. We're gonna be picking up at 37. Or no, let's not go to 27, or we can skim through it.
27, he says, by saying to you, which here love your enemies and do good to them, which hate you, bless them to curse you and pray for them to spitefully use you, right? And so we had talked about how Christ is teaching them to show the love of God to others instead of what the flesh and what the world does. It's the exact opposite. He says, and unto him that smited thee on the one cheek, I'll offer also the other, and him that taketh of that cloak, forbid not to take thy Or, yeah, yeah, amen. To take thy coat also. I get coat and cloak, I wanna read them. I feel like I just read the same thing.
Verse 30 says, and give to every man that asketh of thee, and of him that taketh away thy goods, ask them not again. And as ye would men to do to you, do also to them likewise. For if ye love them which love you, and what think have ye? For sinners also love those that love them. And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what think have ye? For sinners also do even the same. And if even ye lend to them whom ye hope to receive, what thanks have ye? For sinners also lend to sinners, and receive as much again.
But love your enemies, and do good to them, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again. And your reward shall be great, and ye shall be children of the highest. and for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil be therefore merciful as your father also is merciful amen that was the emphasis last week of just being merciful and being long-suffering and being patient with others uh 37 here Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Amen. Pastor wonders why there's seven pages of notes here, because this is important.
Judge not, you shall not be judged. Condemn not, you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you shall be forgiven. Give, and it shall be given unto you. Good measure, pressed down and shaken together, running over, shall men give unto your bosom. For with the same measure that ye meet with all, it shall be measured to you again. Amen. And with this, Jesus, he's not saying to ignore sin. As a matter of fact, in John 7 24, it says, judge not according to appearance, but judge righteous judgment. Amen. That's what this text is about. It's about righteous judgment. It's not about condemning. It's not about profiling. It's none of that. It is. what we have learned from the Word of God, taking that and giving the same grace to others that God has given to us. Amen? Because we are sinners, and what does that mean? Wages of sin is death, right? That's what it is. You're condemned and there's no way out. But God's seen us in our sin. He's seen us in what we was dealing with and provided a way out for us, praise God.
But between warning us about sin and profiling them or writing them off, Jesus, he tells us that That's not the way. He says, judge not according to appearance, but judge righteous judgment. In Luke 637, he says, judge not, and ye shall not be judged. Who is this referring to as far as who's the one judging us? God, right? It's God judging us. Judge not, and ye shall not be judged. It's not judge not this person, and this person won't judge you, because we can't control what that other person does, right? But judge not. and therefore God's not gonna judge you. Give grace to them and God gives grace to you. Amen? Praise God for that.
But judgment, it becomes sinful when it comes from pride instead of from the word of God, right? And so when we place ourselves above others, that's where pride comes in because we think, oh, I'm a Christian, I'm saved, I know that you should not be doing that, right? And what does the Bible say? Cast first the beam out of thine own eye that you may be able to see clearly, right? But the thing is, is that we too often get lifted up in pride and even the world knows these verses, judge not, Bible says judge not. And I mean, the whole time they're judging you for judging, but at the same time, We are to judge, amen, but it's to be with the righteous judgment.
Because Romans 3.23 says that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God, right? So when we judge others harshly, we are forgetting that we also needed that same grace from God, amen? We can't expect grace from God and not give grace to others, right? Amen? Whether you see that it is sin or not, they need grace from you in that matter. Also, they need grace from God. Maybe they don't know God. Maybe they just know you. but they need grace just like you need a grace to be delivered from your sin.
But often our judgments based on an appearance, and that's where the problem comes, because in John 7, 24, it says, judge not according to appearance, but judge righteous judgment, right? That righteous judgment, where do we get righteous judgment from? The judge himself, right? How God judges, but how does God judge? God judges with grace, don't he? Praise God he judges with grace. Because if we didn't have grace, then we would all just be bursting into flames immediately, right? And I mean, but instead, the issue is the profiling that we do, right? We think that because we see somebody, we already know how they are, or because we've known them this long, there's no changing them, or there's nothing that can be done, they just are what they are, and that's how they're always gonna be, and we can't just write people off like that, because that's pride within yourself, thinking that, one, you can't fall like they've fallen, Uh, to thinking that you've reached some kind of high level of righteousness that you don't need God's grace because we all do. Amen.
And James four six and said God resisted the proud, but give a grace to the humble. Amen. The grace to the humble. It's the ones that understand that they that they have come short the glory of God. That's how we got saved amen because we realized that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God, right? And we've seen that we've seen God's perfection We've seen his holiness and we've seen how we've measured up to us and it forced us to bow our head and ask for forgiveness To repent of our sins and to ask Christ to save us because woe is me and I am undone amen that that's what the grace of God does and that's how grace works in the judgment that we judge others with.
But God resisted the proud and give a grace to the humble. And go with me to Matthew chapter seven real quick. Get to some verses instead of rambling, trying to preach the whole message right now. Matthew chapter seven. This is the most quoted one. No brother, just be quiet. Matthew seven verse one. Judge not, that ye be not judged. Amen? That's the most quoted one. Judge not, judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, for what judgment ye judge others, ye shall be judged by God. And with what measure ye meet, it shall be measured to you Again, right, the same harshness that you hand out is what God is going to hand back to us, right?
Go with me to Luke chapter 18. Luke 18. Oh, only 17. Verse number nine. And he spake this parable to a certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous and despised others. Two men went up into a temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a publican. And the Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself. That part, I got that part like circled because it says with himself, prayed with himself, amen? Because he wasn't praying to no God, that's for sure. It says, God, I thank thee that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. I fast twice in a week. ties of all that I possess.
" See, this is the mindset that we have, this level of pride that we have when we see others sin and think that ours is any better, right? They think that we haven't fallen just as they have. It's just that their sin is active right now and ours is suppressed. It says, I think that I am not as other men are extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. I fast twice a week, I give tithes, and of all I possess, and the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much his eyes unto heaven, but smote on his breast, saying, God be merciful to me, a sinner. Amen, you see the prideful, the righteous, they wanna proclaim how good they are, what they have done. They wanna point out other people's sin, right?
But the publican here, he recognized his own sin. He said, standing far off, he would not lift up so much even his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me, a sinner. Amen. And Jesus says, I tell you, this man went down to his house justified, rather than the other, right? Because he gives grace to the humble. Rather than the other, for everyone that exalted himself shall be abased, and he that humbled himself shall be exalted. Amen?
Jesus told this parable, he told it about two men, and both of them were praying, right? But you see the differences in the prayers. God, I thank you that I'm not like these other sinners. I do all this good stuff. I give money. I do all these great things, right? That's the mindset of the prideful. But then the other one, Lord have mercy on me. It's repentance, right? Toward a God who is gracious.
He says, I thank thee that I'm not as other men are. But then he also profiled this tax collector. He judged him, he condemned him. And just saying that he's glad he's not as much of a sinner as he is, right? But God's merciful to a sinner, amen. And Jesus said in verse 14 there that this man went down to his house justified rather than the other, amen. And again, we see that the proud was rejected and the humble, he was forgiven there because God resisted the proud and shows grace to the humble, amen.
Luke, back to Luke six. 37. It says, judge not, and ye shall not be judged. Condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned. Condemning, what does condemning mean? Somebody give me a definition. Kind of, yes, but a little bit further. Yeah, basically just writing somebody off, condemning completely, just like judgment, that's your own kind of a, how you say, that's an opinion per se. But condemning is... a judgment right it's a declaring somebody hopeless or uh writing them off as william said or i mean just deciding what somebody is worth amen and that's that's what he's talking about here he said judge not that you be not judged condemned not and you shall not be condemned
But scripture tells us in Romans 14, 10, it says, but why dost thou judge thy brother? Or why dost thou set it not thy brother? For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ, right? Amen. But the problem is, we're all gonna stand before the judgment seat, but some of us think that we're standing on the throne, and that we are the righteous one, and that we are God, and because we have a Bible, and because we are saved, that we get to judge people, and condemn people, and do all these other things, but Jesus himself didn't even do that. Amen?
Go to 1 Corinthians. This isn't Jesus, but this is good stuff here. 1 Corinthians 13. First Corinthians I Was in James for a lot of this and some of I was like going from Acts to James without stopping anywhere first Corinthians 13. I First Corinthians 13 is all about charity and love and just the importance of it and how we are supposed to have these things. But verse number four says, charity suffereth long and is kind, charity envieth not, charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, does not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil. Amen?
And notice the first half here. Charity suffereth long and is kind, and character envieth not, and charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up. Right, that has to do with judgment. Amen? Because you're not judging because you have this charity. Amen? Verse number five here says, does not behave itself unseemly. Now we're starting again to the pride that causes the judgment. Does not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil. Amen? That's how it's supposed to be. When we are judging, it's supposed to be with charity and with love.
And in James 2, 12, it says, so speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty. What's the law of liberty? Grace, amen. It's grace. The law of liberty is grace. It says, So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty. Right, you're being judged by the law of liberty. It says, for he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath showed no mercy, and mercy rejoiceth against judgment. Amen? You guys get what all that means? It means that we are being judged with grace. Praise God for that, right? We should judge others with grace. Amen? Because if we're judging without mercy, then we're not gonna be showed mercy. Amen? And if we refuse mercy, God will refuse mercy toward us. That's the ultimate thing,
but in Romans, go Romans chapter eight. Romans chapter eight. Verse number 30, no. Oh, I'm in Corinthians. I was like, there is no 30. Let's go 33. Or no, let's go 30, yeah. Says, moreover, whom he did predestinate them he also called, and whom he called them he also justified, and whom he justified them he also glorified. What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? He that spared not his own son, but delivered him up for us all. Amen? That's grace, isn't it? That's not judgment, that's not... Casting into hell what deserves hell, that's not, I mean, it's not judgment, is it? It says, he that spared not his own son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also so freely give us all things? Who shall lay anything to the charge of God's elect, if it is God that justifieth? Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea, rather that is risen again. Who is even at the right hand of God? Who also maketh intercession for us? Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, distress, persecution, or famine, nakedness, or peril, or sword? Amen.
Sorry, I got lost on my notes here. He's saying that it's God who justifies, right? And he says, who is it, or who is he that condemneth? We can't, right? God's the one that's justifying here in verse number 34, or 30, yeah, 30. Who shall lay anything to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, right? He's the only one that's worthy that is able to condemn anybody, right? Because why did he die? Why did he lay down his life? Because he was the only one perfect enough, the only one holy enough, the only one that is without sin and therefore could judge sin. Amen? Condemnation, it belongs to God, not us.
Go with me to, sorry, my verse is on the next page. John chapter eight. John chapter eight, verse number one. This is the woman that was taken in adultery or caught in adultery or however it's worded in your Bible and Jesus went into the Mount of Olives and early in the morning he came again into the temple and all the people came unto him and he sat down and taught them and described to the Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery
And when they had set her in the midst, they saying to him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery in the very act. Now Moses in the law commanded us that such should be stoned. But what sayest thou? This they said, tempting him that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down and with his finger wrote on the ground as though he heard them not. So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. And again, he stooped down and rode on the ground. And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning with the eldest, even unto the last. And Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.
When Jesus had lifted up himself and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? Hath no man condemned thee? She said, No, man, Lord. Amen. You guys see how she called him Lord there? Praise God.
And Jesus said unto her, neither do I condemn thee. Go and sin no more. See, the thing is there, the one who was able to judge instead of judgment, he showed grace. Amen. The one that is worthy to judge somebody, the one who has the power to judge and to condemn and Instead, he blessed. Just as he said before in Luke, bless thine enemies, or everything else that he said as far as the back and forth things. Give to them the hunger and so forth. But he tells us here that neither do I condemn thee. Go and sin no more.
They dragged her in front of Jesus, right? They said that she was caught in the very act. They brought her before Jesus. I don't know how many people was here. I mean, enough to be a group that says, The scribes and the Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery. And so we don't know how many people was actually there, but what were they wanting? What did they bring her there for? They brought her there to stone her, right? They brought her there, and this group of people, I'd assume that they were men, because it said men, brought her out looking to stone her, told him what the law says that we should stone her, but we wanted to see what you say about it. Well, I mean, I'm just talking about what they wanted for her. I'm not talking about their intentions with Christ here. I'm just talking about they were after They wanted to stone her, right? They wanted to be judges, because they were prideful. They were self-righteous. They weren't caught in adultery like she was. Somebody had to be caught in adultery with her, though. That's a fact, right? But the thing is that they wanted to dish out the judgment.
But when Christ said, he that is without sin cast the first stone, All of a sudden, all have sinned, right? All of a sudden, nobody's worthy to judge. All of a sudden, they realize that they needed that same grace that Christ was willing to give to her. And praise God that they also got that same grace, right? Because what should have really happened? Every single person there should have just been dead. Cause the wages of sin is death. And I'm not talking about just a physical death. I mean, we see in other occasions where people literally just drop dead when their sin is brought before them, but the love of God is grace. Amen.
Verse number seven. Nope. Sorry. Let's go down. Yeah. Jesus didn't approve her sin, but he refused to condemn her. Amen. That's the grace. He didn't approve of the sin. He didn't say it was okay. He said, neither do I condemn thee. Go and sin no more. Amen. He recognized the sin for what it was, right? It was sin. But the way he dealt with it, it wasn't with judgment. It was with grace. It was with love, because that's what brings correction. Amen.
I mean, what happens if you point out something that somebody's doing wrong? Pastor, what happens when you tell your wife she's wrong? He said, do I ever do that? Sorry, I can't use them as examples. Because pastors' relationships are perfect, amen? But the thing is, is that when sin is brought before us, when we have done wrong, the automatic reaction is to defend it, right? Because that's why we did it, because we thought it was right. Or that's why we said it, because we thought it was right. Even if it was wrong, we're going to twist things and manipulate things to make it show that we was right. Amen? not amen that's pride right we should not do those things instead we recognize our sin and just said the public and god have merciful have mercy on me a sinner amen because if we do that then it's just like this situation here this woman i mean she was ready i mean i don't know if you can get ready to be stoned but i mean she wasn't putting up a fight she was there she didn't try to run i mean i'd say she wrote herself off even
But the fact is, it says, woman, where are those thine accusers? Hath no man condemned thee? She said, no man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, neither do I condemn thee. Go and sin no more. Praise God for that.
Back to Luke chapter six. Judge not, ye shall not be judged. Condemn not, ye shall not be condemned. Forgive, and ye shall be forgiven. See, that's another part that's not pointed out there about the woman's forgiveness of these people who was willing to take her life right then. Amen? I mean, we don't know that she moved out of town or if that was possible or how that works or anything, but she had to live amongst these people that literally just brought her out in the middle of the town and was ready to take her life.
But, sorry, verse 38. Give, and it shall be given unto you a good measure. See, well, let me just read the whole verse. Give, and it shall be given unto you a good measure, pressed down and shaken together, running over, and shall men give into your bosom for the same measure that you meet with all, it shall be measured to you again. Amen.
How is this verse usually taken out of context and used? For someone to get. Someone says give. Yes, for somebody to give, right? This is what preachers use when they want your money. Amen. Says give and it shall be given unto you a good measure. Press down. You guys know what that means? It means like you pour, you put some powder into this bottle, but then you pack it down so you can fit more in there. You pack it down so you can fit more in there to a point that it is overflowing and you don't pack down as much as you can, right? He says, given and shall be given unto you a good measure, pressed down and shaken together, running over, that all men shall give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye meet with all, it shall be measured unto you, right?
And this is usually referred to or referenced when people are talking about money, but the context here, it's grace and mercy, amen? It's love. It has nothing to do with money in this situation. But the point of it is, is that if we give judgment, we're going to receive judgment, amen? But if we give grace, grace will be given to you, pressed down, shaken together, running over, and all men shall give you grace, right?
It's kind of hard to be jerked to that guy that loves everybody, isn't it? I mean, if, think about it, like there's something the other day, I'm not gonna go too far into details, but there was a, somebody had went missing, and they was found dead. And they was like, oh, there's gotta be foul play involved, and this and that, and blah, blah, blah. But the type of person that it was, I mean, it was the autistic boy that's been in the news recently. He was found dead, right? They were like, oh, I can't believe that. You guys just believe that he just fell in the water, and this and that, and blah, blah, blah. Yeah, I kind of do. I mean, it's kind of hard to see an autistic teenager. You know, I mean, I want to attack him and take his life and throw him in a river, right? Amen. I mean, that's a pretty sick individual, like even if it was kids or whatever. I mean, kids aren't going to, in my opinion, do that. And I mean, it comes out later that he was, there's a video of him playing on the ice and he just played on the ice and that was all they had seen in the video. But the fact is that I forgot where I was going with that. Where am I at?
Oh, as far as grace being given to us in overflowing, it's not that we, we'll just move on, sorry. Galatians 6, 7 says, for whatsoever a man sow, that shall he also reap. Amen. Simply put, and I mean, the world likes to change that into, What is it? Give it, put it out in the universe and it comes back to you, or whatever all this other nonsense is. I mean, it's all from the Bible, amen? You reap what you sow, right? It don't matter what you put into the universe. It don't matter what your, what's the other terms? There, what is it? Karma, yes, karma. I mean, it's not, You replay you so amen it always has been and it always will be in Matthew 5 7 says blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy and in Mark 11 25 it says and when you stand praying forgive if you have ought against any That your father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses right It's a big deal.
If we want forgiven, we have to show forgiveness. Even if we don't want forgiven, even if we don't, well, it's more important that I condemn this person right now than it is that God forgives me for something else that I did. You don't realize all that you have done that needs forgiven for is the issue, right? We only take notes of a couple things, but God, He keeps score of all of it, amen? And we're going to stand before Him in judgment one day and He's going to show us all of this. Whether it's on a big screen or just plays in our minds or how it happens But we're all gonna stand before him and we're gonna give an account for everything that we have done in this life Right and everything that we haven't done you know But god blesses those who bless others in proverbs 11 25 says he that watereth shall be watered also himself Go to genesis chapter 50 Genesis chapter 50 This is Joseph, of course.
Joseph is a great example of grace and mercy and extra long suffering. Super patience. Genesis 50 verse number 19. This is after his brothers had a. They had came back to Egypt and they had need of him and they Joseph kind of. set him up per se to where they would need to be brought back to him and they realized who Joseph was at this point because Joseph revealed himself and they realized what all they had done to him after they had thrown him into a pit and they sold him into slavery and had faked his death even. Verse number 19, so then Joseph said unto them, fear not for I am, for am I in the place of God, right? I don't have the ability to judge. But as for you, you thought evil against me, but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people. Now therefore, fear ye not. I will nourish you. This is the grace, amen.
They deserved, I mean, they were bowed before him here. They bowed before the king of Egypt, right? Bowed before him, right before that, it says, verse 15, They saw that their father was dead and said unto Joseph, peradventure, he hate us and will certainly requite us of all the evil we did unto him. Right? They were expecting judgment.
But 21, it says, now therefore fear ye not. I will nourish you and your little ones. And he comforted them and spake kindly unto them. It's the exact opposite, isn't it? He chose mercy over revenge. because that's what God honors. That's the love of Christ, amen? That's what God desires, is that we show the same grace that he has given us.
But when profiling happens, we judge, we based off of appearance, or we label people off of their past, or we decide who's worth reaching, right? We think about, we assume people's motives and situations, why they did these things, why they said that, oh, I bet he's doing that because this happened, or, because I said this to him in third grade, now he's trying to get me back, right? We come up with this craziness in our head and we treat people, certain people even, differently, right?
We have respect to persons in 1 Samuel 16, 7 says, man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart. Matthew, or 1 Samuel 16, seven. Man looketh on the outward appearance, right? That's where the profiling, the judging, the condemning, right? Before you even know the situation or you know the person. Man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on our hearts.
Go to James chapter two. James chapter two. Verse number one. It says, my brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect to persons. Amen? He's not saying don't have the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ. He's like, don't possess this faith and judge people differently. Amen? Or treat people differently. My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect to persons. For if there come, unto your assembly a man with a gold ring and goodly apparel and there come also a poor man and a vile raiment and ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing and saying to him sit thou here in a good place and saying to the the poor stand out there and sit under my footstool are ye not then therefore partial in yourselves and are become judges of evil thoughts Harken, my beloved brethren, hath not God chosen the poor of this world, rich in faith, and as heirs of the kingdom which he hath himself promised to them that love him? But ye have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you and draw you before the judgment seats? Do not they blaspheme the worthy name by which ye are called. If ye fulfill the royal law according to the scripture, thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. Ye do well. But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.
Amen? Or convicted of the law. Yeah, it does say convinced, huh? I thought I read that wrong. Convinced of the law as transgressors. For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. Amen. And so when he's sitting here telling us that you're keeping to this law, you think that you're doing good, but if you have respect of persons, you commit sin. Amen.
So if you're having this judgment, whosoever shall keep the whole law, but offending this one point with judging people, condemning people, he is guilty of all. Right? So this unrighteous judge, it's the same as a thief. It's the same as whatever the situation of that sin is that you're judging, or profiling, or condemning, right? It's all the same in the eyes of a holy, perfect, righteous God. Amen? It's a hard pill to swallow, because we like to think that our sin's not as bad as the next man's, but at the end of the day, that judgment itself is sin, because you do not have the authority to judge. You do not have the authority to condemn. There is one who does, and he gives grace and tells us to do the same thing. Amen?
Galatians, and same thing, if like someone we know falls, we don't condemn them, we restore them. In Galatians 6, one says, brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such a one in the spirit of meekness, considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted, right? Because you're capable of the same sin they're capable of, right?
I can't tell you, I've been just like mind-blown over the past couple years of like people that I've seen fall into sin. I'm just like, wow, for real? That person? Like that really happened? But, and I pray to God that That doesn't happen to me. You know what I mean?
Because, I mean, we look at people like, I mean, Solomon, he's the wisest, richest man to ever live. Had wisdom straight from God himself to be the wisest person who will ever live. And he still fell into sin. Right? So who's not, who's unable to sin? Who's unable, who's able to keep themself from it?
He made the king of the world turn into a beast for seven years, walked around in the forest and had long hair and long claws. And I mean, he, the king of the world took him off his pedestal and made him eat grass for seven years. Y'all, we're not above anything.
Ephesians 4 15 tells us this is but speaking the truth of love may grow up into him in all things Which is the head even Christ, right? Jesus he ministered to the the broken and the rejected and the outcasts in that's that's us right and so that's who we minister to as well we we deserve judgment but God gave us mercy uh paul writes in ephesians 4 32 says forgiving one another even as god for christ's sake hath forgiven you john 3 17 says for god sending out his son into the world to condemn the world but that the world through him might be saved."
Right? That's the heart of God. He sent his son into the world. What could he have sent his son to do? To condemn the world, to judge the world, to rid the world of sin. But instead, He sent his son into the world, not to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved, right? He didn't save you to go and judge sin. He didn't save you to go and condemn people, to point things out. He saved you that you might go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen. That's what he saved us to do. Not to judge.
Colossians 4, 6 says, let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer every man. Right? And that answer, it's not as a question, it's how you ought to react to the sin that you see. How you ought to react to the things that you're surrounded by. Right? It's not you go out and start, like you see these worthless preachers downtown, they start Point fingers at these gay people and telling them they're going to hell and this and that it's worthless. It's not doing anything Is it?
Let me show you what my Bible says all have sin and come short of the glory of God, right? You don't have to speak specifically on their sin. You don't have to point it out directly They know that they have sinned right when a brother asked me If you were to die, do you think you would go to heaven or hell? I told him I'm not sure he said probably means hell right now I was like, yeah, probably so Why? Because I knew that I sinned. He didn't have to point that out. I didn't have to get specific in the Bible. He didn't have to go through 10 commandments. Have you done this? Have you done this? Have you done this? No, I mean, I knew. I knew that I was a sinner, right? And I knew that that sin required judgment.
But that's why people live in this fairytale land, because they don't want to accept that judgment, because they don't want to admit the fact that they're going to have to stand before a holy and perfect God. But us, knowing the truth, have to extend this love that God so loved the world that he sent his only begotten son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Amen. You're a whosoever. I'm a whosoever. They're a whosoever. Amen. And God's not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But he does that through us that showed the love of Christ. And that's why it's important to have the love of Christ instead of judgment. Amen. We can't profile people. We can't condemn people. We give grace because that's what Christ gave us. Amen.
Maybe you got a copy. I'm not gonna. I'm not gonna recap because. He preached half my sermon this morning so. Not really, I've there. There is like probably I think .4 really touches on some of the things that you talked about, so we'll just get to it when I start preaching later. But for now we're going to take a break. Let's pray
Lord. We thank you so much for your goodness. We thank you Lord. Thank You, Lord, for Your judgment and Your mercy and Your grace. And Lord, we thank You that we were able to receive Your mercy and grace because Your judgment fell on Your own Son. on our behalf. And Lord, we pray, Father, that we would have that grace as well when we deal with others. And Lord, we pray that we just point to the payment that's already been made. And Lord, we pray, Father, that You bless our services the rest of the day. We look forward to it. In Jesus' name, Amen.
