Magic and the Holy Spirit

Simon the Magician completely misunderstood the Baptism of the Samaritans with the Holy Spirit, because he interpreted this event through the lenses of his prior occult practices. Ironically, there are many charismatics who make a very similar mistake. Without the proper theological framework, this passage can be seriously twisted. It must be read through the lenses of the History of Redemption, rather than the Order of Salvation.
