Paul's main concerns for Corinthian gatherings:

1. Their worship should be intelligible - vv1-25.
2. Their worship should display order -vv26-40.
   Ultimate concern – the Church be built up to the glory of God.

Working definitions/descriptions:
Gift of tongues – Spirit-given ability to speak human languages to God which are unknown to the speaker.
Gift of prophecy – Spirit-empowered teaching and application of Scripture.
