Isaiah chapter six. And verse number three. Isaiah six and verse three, it
says, and one cried unto another and said, holy, holy, holy is
the Lord of hosts. The whole earth is full of his
glory. Let's go to Revelation chapter
four, please. Revelation chapter 4 in verse
8. And it says, And the four beasts
had each of them six wings about him, and they were full of eyes
within, and they wished not day and night, saying, Holy, holy,
holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come. So those two main words in these
two passages, the words are holy, holy, holy. And there was one
other word that I forgot to say, and that word is, is. And the
word is always a present tense word. If you can go back a million
years ago and read that verse, you would have read it as, holy,
holy, holy is the Lord. If you were to go a million years
into the future and read it as, holy, holy, holy is the Lord
at first. So we see there that he is holy,
holy, holy. Okay, that's all I wanted to
say about that. Now let's go to Matthew chapter six, please. Matthew chapter six and verse
33, all of us know it, I believe, but I'm still going to read it.
It says, but seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness
and all these things shall be added unto you. Um, brother Farron,
can you please pray for us? In verse 33, it says, but seek
ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness. And then it
switches the mode. It says, and all these things
shall be added unto you. So in first, in the first half
of those verses shows us what we should be seeking. We should
seek God and his righteousness. And then everything else can
be added onto us later in our life. Now let's go to Colossians
chapter three, please. Colossians chapter 3 and verse
1. And it says, if ye then be risen
with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ
sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affections on things
above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life
is hid with Christ in God. So we see there that if you then
be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above. So we
need to seek the things which are above and then seek for everything
else later. And then let me go back to my
notes quick. Let's go to Luke chapter 15,
please. Luke 15 in verse 8, and it says,
So we see there that once we seek God, and his righteousness, we need
to seek souls and tell them that they need to be saved and seek
God too. So we can see as this woman,
she lit a candle and swept the house. We are the candle or the
light of the world, and we can see the house being the world. And she was seeking diligently
until she found it. We need to seek diligently until
we find that one lost soul, Neal's Toad. Now let's go to Matthew
13, 45, please. Matthew 13, 45. Again, the kingdom of heaven
is likened to a merchant man seeking goodly pearls. So we
see there the only one word that I was looking for in that verse
was seeking, that even a worldly man is seeking something. So
either if you're saved or lost, you're still seeking something
in your life. Now let's go to chapter 7 and
verse 7 of the same chapter, please. 7 and verse 7. It says, Ask, and it shall be
given unto you. Seek, and ye shall find. Knock,
and it shall be opened unto you. So we need to ask first, then
we need to seek, then we need to knock. And then, let's go
to Psalm 69. Psalm 69 in verse 32. And it says, the humble shall
see this and be glad, and your heart shall live that seek God. The first word that I would like
to look at in this verse is humble. We need to be humble before we
can go out and seeking souls. If you go out there thinking
that everybody should know it, then we probably won't be winning
them as easily. So we need to be humbled before
we go out seeking those souls. And then the second word I like
to look at is the word seek again. Seek is to look or to find. Let's go to Isaiah 55.6. Isaiah 55 verse 6 says, Seek
ye the Lord while he may be found. Call ye upon him while he is
near. So we need to seek God while
he's drawing us, be it to the mission field or be it just to
be a pew warmer, we need to seek God in whatever it is. Because
there is coming a day that he might not be calling on us, if
it's for salvation or whatever. There was this one man that was
about 60 years old, and he came down and got saved. And he was
weeping because he just got saved. And he told the pastor that he
said back when he was about in his early teens, God came down
and was moving on him to get saved. But he didn't get saved
until he was 60 years old. And he was pleading with the
young people, if God's calling you, don't reject him. Just go
ahead and get saved because he might never call on you again. And then you're going to die
and go to hell. And then let's go to Luke chapter 12 again,
please. Luke chapter 12 and verse But rather seek ye the kingdom
of God, and all these things shall be added unto you. So that's
a pretty similar verse to Matthew 6.33. So we need to seek God,
and then all these things shall be added unto you. And then one
more verse in Isaiah 58. Isaiah 58, verse 2. And it says, you're only going
to read half the verse. Yet they seek me daily and delight
to know my ways. So we need to seek God daily
whether we feel like it or not. So we need to seek him day in
and day out. I'm going to read you an illustration
that I came up with a year or two ago that I was in my personal
studies. In Revelation chapter 6 and verse
1, and it says, come and see you. And verse 2 it says, he
came and saw. And verse 3, be you, it says,
come and see you. And in verse four it says, he
came and saw. Verse five, come and see. And verse six, he saw. And verse
seven, he came and see again. And verse eight, it says, he
saw. So we need to see the kingdom
of God as it is. In Isaiah chapter six, we see
that King Uzziah just died. It took a physical king for Isaiah
to, when King Uzziah died, It took a physical king to die before
Isaiah could see the king of kings. So we don't need anybody
dying before we see the king of kings. And then in verse 5,
it says, woe is me because I am unclean. I'm a man of unclean
lips. And then verse 6 and verse 8,
we see, here am I, Lord, send me. So we need to be willing
in whatever we have. Thank you, pastor. Amen.
