Thank you for allowing me to be here this morning. This is my favorite thing to do, stand up and harass people. That's what Marines love to do. Just make your sitting up straight, no slouching, or you'll be in the aisle doing push-ups. That's another thing we like to watch, people doing push-ups. It's a Marine thing. Anyway, we're going to go through the first three chapters of Genesis. And we're going to do it in right around 45 minutes or so. We could spend weeks on this. I'm sure your pastor could spend months on it. The first three chapters. We're going to go through ten items here. Who God is. Why there is death and suffering. The foundation for the gospel. The first proto-gospel. The definition of marriage, the foundation for a biblical worldview, our understanding of origins, the age of the earth, and the foundation for understanding the book of Revelation, and why the book of Genesis is under attack. Any questions? We're done. Well, let's start here. The first three chapters of Genesis, if you don't believe them, you know who God is. You know who God is if you don't believe the first three chapters. You know there's a lot of Christians right there. They don't think the first three chapters of Genesis matter. Let's not teach it, it's too controversial. Well, I thought the cross was pretty controversial too, so we shouldn't be preaching that either then. So who is God, his character? He's referred to as Elohim, the supreme God, mighty one, Lord, Yahweh, that's his name, self-existent or eternal, the I am. Right off the bat, we find who God is. He's the supreme God, the mighty one. We have his name. He's self-existent. He is the great I am. Don't miss that first verse, folks. In the beginning, God. We find out a triune God, the Trinity, Elohim. It's plural, Hebrew hurl, plural for let us make man. One God, three distinct persons. Find that out right there in Genesis. He is the creator of all things. You know, this is not just Genesis. Here are just some of the verses that teach God is the creator of all things. It's mentioned or implied in almost every book of the Bible, He is the creator. You know, also three times in the Bible, three times it literally states He created everything in six days. It's not just in Genesis. So if you don't believe Genesis, you can throw the other two verses away. He is all-powerful, only he can create out of nothing. That brings me to one of my favorite questions to ask non-believers, especially evolutionists. Without a creator God, nothing could exist. Then I watch them scramble, trying to figure out how things got here, and they can't do it. They can have great assumptions, but they have zero empirical science for what they believe. So at the foundation, without a creator God, nothing could exist. We have the upper hand right there. He is the sovereign ruler over his creation. Because he's the creator of all things, he is the sovereign ruler. That means he gets to make the standards and rules for how we are to live. Since he's created, he's worthy of our worship. Revelation 4, 10, 11, host of heaven are bowing down saying, holy, holy, holy. Why? because he's the creator. So this creation information is very important, but too many of our university professors have distorted it. We have too many in churches today saying it's not an important issue, so we're not gonna teach it, especially to our youth. They don't wanna teach it to our youth, and they're going out and getting beaten up by the world, because the world has answers. They're false answers, but they're giving answers. The church is not. He transcends his creation. He's not bound by his creation, but can enter into it, and he did in the person of Jesus Christ. Number two, why there is death and suffering. People say, oh, why is there all this death and suffering? Well, read the book of Genesis, the first three chapters, and you'll find out why we have death and suffering. God's creation was perfect. Genesis 131, he said it was very good. Now, does that mean perfect? If you were going to your house and I was coming to your house and said, I fixed it up, it's very good, does that mean it's perfect? Probably not, because you know what I like to do when I go to people's homes? Go into the kitchen and put my initials on top of the refrigerator. A lot of people don't like that, but that's fine. And I come back a month later and see if they're still there. So it's not quite, but when God said it's perfect, very good, it meant perfect. In Deuteronomy chapter 32, it says the works of God are perfect, and creation is the works of God. So that very good means perfect. In Genesis 3, 22, we were made to live forever. Why don't we live forever? Because God gave us one warning. Don't eat of the fruit of this tree or death is going to enter. Adam and Eve disobeyed and death came in. Because of sin, that original sin, we have death and we have suffering. So we have an answer for why this is there. In Genesis 2.16, the one warning, Genesis 2.16, man rebels, sin. And then in Genesis 3, 17 through 19, all creation is now under the curse. All of it is under the curse. So that's where death and suffering begin. Then, number three, the foundation for the gospel. The whole foundation for the gospel. Why Jesus had to come is in the first three chapters of Genesis. So if you don't believe the first three chapters of Genesis or oral history, folks, you don't have an explanation for the gospel anymore. People say, oh, don't talk about creation. It's not a salvation issue. Well, it's not directly a salvation issue, but folks, it is a gospel issue. And we need to understand that. Don't be deceived by these people who don't want to believe God's word. In the beginning God created. We had a perfect beginning. One warning. Rebellion. Sin. God keeps His promise. Death. And the wages of sin is death, right out of the New Testament. Right there we have the foundation for why Jesus Christ had to go to the cross, suffer and die, and be raised from the dead. He had to conquer death. Genesis. we're being told is not real history. This is one of the most prominent things being taught in our Christian universities. Genesis is not history. It's just poetry. It's a framework. No wonder we have so many of our youth leaving the church today, because they don't believe the Bible by going to our Christian universities. The wages of sin is death. What does that mean in the New Testament? It verifies exactly what God gave us in Genesis. Sin is the cause of death. Then we have the core of the gospel, 1 Corinthians 15, three and four. Anybody remember that one? I'm not gonna tell you then. In there we see two times, two times we read according to the scriptures. He suffered and died according to the scriptures. He was raised from the dead according to the scriptures. The question I have, according to what scriptures? The Old Testament. To understand the gospel, the foundation for the gospel, you must understand and believe the Old Testament. For Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures. He was raised from the dead on the third day according to the scriptures. And it says, for I hand it down to you. What does that mean? He gave us the testaments. That first importance. Notice the words, first importance. That means this is very important, what he's going to say. And this is what we call the gospel right here. The foundation, the core of the gospel right here. And it talks about a literal six day creation. Oh my, my, my, my. Scientists have proven this earth is billions of years old. Folks, don't be deceived. Too many Christians are buying into that without really studying it. I know we have PhDs in science out there, call themselves Christians, believe in billions of years. But folks, they're getting that billion years from their understanding of science. Notice I said their understanding of science. The Bible does not teach billions of years. You cannot put it in there anywhere without changing God's word. What it means when they're doing it off their understanding of science, what they're telling me and everybody else is the Bible is not their authority. Their authority is their own understanding of science. They're elevating their knowledge above God's word. The science does not prove billions of years. Anybody understands the radiometric dating methods? Fully should be aware that those methods are full of assumptions that cannot be proven, and there are many scientific evidences for a young Earth. Even carbon-14, folks, carbon-14 is the friend of young Earth creationists, because it's a powerful evidence for a very young Earth. You just need to do your homework and stop listening to the world and listen to God's word. I want to show you the importance of this, literal six-day creation, why this is an important issue. And is it okay if I take a literal interpretation for a moment, not add anything to God's Word? Okay, good, good, got permission to do that. Starts off with, in the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. Then it talks about his six days of creation. Then he calls his creation perfect. Then comes the fall, sin. and then comes death. That is the exact order the Bible read. Doesn't matter what translation you have, valid translation. That is the order that the Bible reads. I did not add anything to this at all. But let me show you what happens once you add millions of years into God's word. We have creation, going on for millions and millions of years. Finally along come Adam and Eve, then comes the fall. The question is, what would have been going on for those millions and millions of years before Adam and Eve and the fall? Death. Death, struggle, disease. Once you accept millions of years, folks, you are now teaching death before sin. What does that do to the gospel? Destroys the entire foundation of the gospel, because sin is no longer the cause of death. It was already there. We have a serious issue in the church today and our Christian universities. People are not willing to trust God's word. they'd trust their own wisdom first. If sin is not the cause of death, then why did Jesus Christ have to go to the cross? That's hard to explain now. We've got the first proto-gospel. Proto meaning first, gospel, good news. The first good news is right there in Genesis, Genesis 3.15. And I will put enmity between you and the woman and between your seed and her seed. He shall bruise you on the head and you shall bruise him on the heel. Bruise him on the heel. Christ is to have a wound, but it's not permanent though. Why? Because Christ came up out of that grave. It was just a bruise. He came up out of that grave. But look at this one. Bruise you on the head. Satan will receive a mortal wound. Part of that came at the cross, but the rest of it will come at the end time when Satan is doomed for all eternity in the lake of fire. Right there is the first promise of a savior and the first promise of victory. How can you ignore that and say that's not real history? Number five, marriage. Anybody involved in that? Yes, I am. I live in an area where they're involved with it many times called Idaho. Mormonism is the number one religion in our community. Yes, you'll see a man walk in with two or three women. Definition of marriage. If you don't believe the first three chapters of Genesis, how do you define marriage? It comes down to your own opinion then. That's why we have a problem, because we're not teaching the first three chapters of Genesis, the real history. The Bible says one man and one woman. Makes it very clear. Genesis 127. So God created man in his own image. In the image of God, he created him. Male and female, he created them. It's very explicit right there. Then we go to Mark 10, verse six. Jesus Christ is making a statement. But from the beginning of the creation, God made them male and female. He's talking about the first family there. Man and woman, and this is very interesting, folks. Jesus Christ, do we believe what he has to say? Yes. Jesus Christ right there saying man and woman were on this planet from the beginning of creation, not after millions of years. Jesus Christ believed in a young earth. If you're believing millions of years, you're saying Jesus Christ doesn't know what he's talking about here. Folks, he's the creator. He's the one that called all existence. He's the eyewitness. I'll take his word for it. Then in Matthew 19, verse four, it says the same type of thing. And he answered and said, have you not read? He who created them from the beginning made them male and female. So in Genesis, we have the definition of marriage. We have Jesus restating it again in the Gospels. If you don't believe the first three chapters, tell me what your definition of marriage is, and I don't want to hear any opinions. We have the foundation for a biblical worldview. God exists and his word is true. That is the very foundation of a biblical worldview. In Genesis 1-1, we see, in the beginning, God. People say, wait, prove to me God exists. I don't have to. That first statement there, in the beginning God, the Bible doesn't try and prove God exists either. It assumes it in the very first verse of the Bible. In the beginning, God, he exists. Nothing could exist before him, or he's not eternal. So right there, he exists. And then I'm gonna go to, and you know he exists also. What do you mean, I know he exists? Romans chapter one, everyone knows in their heart of hearts that God exists and no one has an excuse for not believing that. I love to use those arguments against non-believers. Why? Because that's the biblical form of argumentation right there. Paul, when he was talking to King Agrippa and Festus, they didn't believe in the resurrection. What does Paul do? He doesn't go to all this science, he doesn't go anywhere else. What he does, He goes back and says, well, my God's the creator. And if he can create, he can raise people from the dead. In other words, he argued from the idea of possibilities. If God can create everything, then he can raise people from the dead. We got a strong argument there. And I use this, anybody heard of the distant starlight dilemma? If Earth is only 6,000 years old, how can those galaxies that are millions of light years out there, how could that light reach us in only 6,000 years? No response to that is? Without a greater God, nothing could exist. And if he can create everything out of nothing, he can get that starlight to reach us. Now, using empirical science, can you tell me how it got here? And they can't. They can go, oh, light travels this fast. That's how far it goes. Well, wait a minute. Your light source, the stars, do you know when that star was created? Because you have to know when it began to know the full time it took to get here. Oh, by the way, where did the matter come from to create your star? It's all based on assumptions. Their entire explanation is based on assumptions. That's the biblical argument right there. Argue using the most powerful weapon we have, the Word of God. And then I'm going to take him right to the gospel. You know what the king or gripper did when Paul gave that argument? They laughed at him, thought he was mad. You know what happens to me sometimes? People laugh at me, call me stupid, non-scientific. But you know what? If they've heard the gospel, they're accountable. That's our success. Not our wisdom. Our wisdom doesn't give us success. My knowledge of science doesn't give me success. And I'll use it at times. I have nothing against evidence. I will use it whenever I need to. But I'm going to use it to get to the gospel. Break down their strongholds. As the Marine Corps, we go for the juggler. That's the gospel. They need to hear it. Because what does it say in Romans 1 16? The power is the gospel. 2nd Timothy 3, 16th statement, all scripture is God-breathed. All of it is God-breathed. Yes, men wrote it down. People say, oh, it was written by men. Men make mistakes. Well, it was written down by men, but it was inspired by the Holy Spirit. And you know what? It also says all of it is good for teaching, not some of it. So pastors out there that aren't teaching creation because they think it's too controversial, they don't believe it, are being disobedient to God's word. John 17, 17, sanctify them in the truth, your word is truth. Sanctify means we're to be set apart by his word. Number seven, our understanding of origins. The origin of planet Earth. There's all kinds of ideas where planet Earth came from. None of them work scientifically. They're all based on assumptions, conjecture, but none of them involve empirical science. But yet, know what they're teaching in the schools? Evolution is a fact. It has no empirical science to support it. The origin of the sun, moon, and stars. Oh, Mike, Mike, we know where stars came from. All you have to do is open up a ninth grade textbook, and it will tell you where stars came from. We get these great big gas and dust clouds out there in space, and they rotate around and around and around. As they rotate around and around and around, they begin to gravitationally collapse inward and form brand new stars. It's happening all the time. And the scientific term for that is baloney. Because we know, based on observable and repeatable science, that when a gas cloud begins to rotate around and around, it will gravitationally collapse inward due to the rotation. But as it collapses inward, it generates something called heat pressure. And we can measure that heat pressure. It is always stronger than the gravity and causes the cloud to expand outward. So where did the stars come from? All they have are assumptions. No one has ever observed a star form. It's supposed to take hundreds of thousands to millions of years. All we see are gas and dust clouds out there, and we can only assume they're condensing. But the heat pressure they're generating is causing them to expand. And so will the magnetic field that gets generated cause them to expand. So where'd the stars come from? I love this phrase, and he made the stars also. It was so easy for him to put quintillions of stars out there. The origin of animal life, birds and sea creatures. The origin of dinosaurs. Well, origin of life. How did life get started? Well, that's easy. Might go to that ninth grade book again. We had this pool of chemical soup stuff in there, pool of chemicals called the primordial soup. And all these chemicals just started to come together. Well, that's interesting. We've never found any primordial soup stuff. Now, we may have eaten some stuff that looked like it, but we haven't found it yet. But you know, our best scientists in the world cannot even produce one small protein. We can't even get one protein. So don't even talk to me about a cell. Cells have thousands of proteins in them. But they can't even produce one protein with all our intelligence. Random chance. By random chance, this is what evolution is. There's no guided direction in there. Left to itself, the system will always go away from life, never towards life. So how do we get life? We can't even get a protein. Don't even have to talk about DNA. It's over right there, folks. When I was in front of NASA scientists, all I talked about was amino acids and proteins. And the argument was over, and they knew it. Life cannot start by naturalistic processes. It's all based on assumptions. No empirical science to support their claim. And if we can't even get a protein, we can't get a cell, then where's Darwinian evolution? The foundation for Darwinian evolution, how species change, is founded on assumptions. It has no foundation. That's how we do these arguments. Take them down to the foundations. Demand empirical science, observable and repeatable. The origin of dinosaurs. I like that one, because you know what? Dinosaurs just appear in the fossil record. Know what they look like? Dinosaurs. I've looked up all these alleged transitions. Know what every one of them looks like? Dinosaurs. Where did they come from? Where are the thousands and thousands of transitions leading up to the dinosaurs? Oh, incidentally, something interesting about dinosaurs. You know what we're finding on dinosaurs, their bones, fossils? Soft tissue. Everywhere we're finding soft tissue. You can take that tissue and stretch it, and it comes back together again. It's still elastic. Folks, soft tissue does not last for 65 million years under any known conditions. We're finding proteins in there. Once something dies, the proteins start coming apart. We're finding red blood cells in there. That doesn't last long. We're finding DNA in there. DNA would last at most 10,000 years until it's all gone. Why are we finding that? No, don't worry about cloning. We're not going to clone dinosaurs. Cloning does not quite work the way you think it does. The success rate is very low, many horrible deaths, and cloned animals tend to die very early because some things in there we can't fix. You know something else we're finding in there? Carbon-14. I'll save that explanation for another day. But carbon-14, once something dies, after about 80,000 years, all the carbon-14 is decayed out of it. But we're finding carbon-14 in dinosaurs all over the world. You know what's interesting about this? We're finding similar amounts in all these dinosaur bones, similar amounts of carbon-14. Oh, another thing about these dinosaurs, this gets very interesting. They're all buried in sediments laid down by water. All over the world, there are sediments laid down by water. What? No, no. I'm going to take that group over there. I love to pick on people. This group over here. If we're finding dinosaurs all over the world in sediments laid down by water, and if you don't get the answers, 20 push-ups, what does that suggest how they all died? A flood. A flood, very good. Isn't it sad they got the right answer? Wouldn't you have liked to watch them do push-ups? Yes, yes. Now, thank you for that answer. It sounds like a giant flood. It's consistent with what we see out there. They all died about the same time. And for finding carbon-14, they can only be thousands of years old. Soft tissue, red blood cells, DNA, all that is powerful evidence dinosaurs haven't been dead that long. Are you suggesting people and dinosaurs live at the same time? Yes. You know why? The Bible teaches that. Genesis chapter 1, what day did God create land animals? Six, what day did he make man? Six, we lived at the same time right there. Job, chapter 40, is a very interesting description of a creature called Behemoth. He's got bones like bars of iron. He's got a tail like a cedar. Know what that means? Know what a cedar is? A Lebanon cedar, they're bigger over there. They have trunks like this for a big cedar tree. That's not an elephant. What kind of a tail does an elephant have? No. It's not a hippopotamus. They got little twigs back there. This sounds like a pretty good description of something like maybe an apatosaurus right there in the Bible. We can't say for sure it was a dinosaur because we weren't there. But the description represents no other animal other than a dinosaur that we know of. Then there's a description of a creature that shoots out sparks of fire in Job. Boy, Job has some interesting things in there. You know, we talk about an ice age. We believe Job may have been living during the ice age. Because several places in there, he talks about the extreme cold coming down from the north. But he talks about this creature called Leviathan, shoots out sparks of fire. Can that really happen? How many people here believe in fire-breathing dragons? Well, we got some of those. You might want to move away from those people. You don't know where they're coming from. I love to cause commotion. You know, there is a creature that exists today, very similar to our fire-breathing dragon. Oh my, now you've really gone overboard. Do dragons have to be this big? Can be this big? This big? How about this big? Would anybody be afraid of a dragon just this big, shoots out sparks of fire? Well, you may not want one under your pillow. It's called the bombardier beetle. When a predator approaches this beetle, it shoots out 212 degrees liquid fire. You better check under your pillow tonight and make sure none of them are there. It exists today. I have a dead one at home. God created that creature. See, it's not a matter of a furnace or coal in there. It's got two storage tanks. One storage tank has hydroquinone in it. The other storage tank has hydrogen peroxide. You know what happens when you mix those two chemicals together? Nothing. Looking for what it does, though. It has some other enzymes and inhibitors in there. Anybody here have enzymes in you? You better. If you don't, you're dead. Mix all that together, the enzymes, inhibitors, with those two ingredients, shoots out 212 degrees liquid fire. Isn't that amazing how God created that creature? See, if a little bitty creature, half inch long, can do that, is it also possible another creature in our past, called divine thing, could do the same thing? If you say no, you're not being scientific, because we know it's scientifically possible it occurs today. Isn't it wonderful how God's word is true all the time? How about the origin of man? I did that one last night for the youth group. I didn't have to talk about one single fossil. What I showed was there's a tremendous difference between humans and chimpanzees. Their teaching in our schools was only 1% to 2% difference in our DNA between humans and chimpanzees. I made that statement once in church, and a lady was reaching in her bag, pulling out a banana. I try not to call too much attention to her. 1% to 2% difference. You know 2% difference is 60 million differences? 1% is 30 million differences. They don't put those numbers in the textbook. But today, the fact is we're over 15% difference. The 1% to 2% difference was made in 1975 before we even knew the human genome. We hadn't studied the human genome or the chimpanzee genome. So how'd they know the 1% to 2%? They cheated. They only took the parts of the DNA that seemed to match. And that's what they teach in schools. Today, we're over 15% different. That's 450 million differences. You can have 10 million years, and it won't happen, folks. You can have 100 million years, it's not going to happen. So all you have to do is show we're so vastly different. Only we were creating the image and likeness of God. No other creature was. The first chapter of Genesis refutes the philosophy of evolution in long ages. Number eight, the age of the earth. God created everything in six little days, about 6,000 years ago. You know, in Genesis 1-5, how many have heard of hermeneutics? Yeah. Hermen must have been burned to hymen. That's what we got. The first people were hermen and hymen. Gotta be fair here, don't we? Have equality. Just like you have hurricanes, you gotta have hymecanes. My mind wanders. Okay, first thing, hermeneutics. It's the rules for interpreting language, and one of them's called context. That's probably the most important one we need to remember. First of all, God chose the word day, didn't he? People say, oh, it could have been long ages, but he chose the word day. Now, I know day can have a lot of different meanings, but context warrants the meaning. So if he specifically chose the word day, he could have chosen other Hebrew words like olam, which means long periods of time. But he didn't, he chose the word day. Then in Genesis 1 and 5, he actually defined the word day. Twice he defines the word day. Once he says it's the light portion. Then he says it's the light and dark portion. What more information do we need? He gave us the definition for the word. Then we have God called the light day in the darkness. He called night and there was evening and there was morning. One day. Is that pretty specific there? One day? That first day, folks, was a day. There's no way around it unless you just don't want to believe what God gave us. Don't worry about the science that you're teaching. Don't worry about the world. The world wants you to not believe that. They also don't want you to believe the cross and the resurrection either. Oh, but Mike, science, science. Don't ignore good science. Okay, if you're using science to interpret God's word, especially in Genesis, you're gonna use science, your understanding of science, because true science is always in agreement with God's word. But if you're using your understanding of science, the world is teaching billions of years, then I'm gonna challenge you to be consistent. I'm gonna challenge you to be consistent. Because if you just can't believe God did it in six days because it doesn't match what you believe to be science, then I'm going to go right to the resurrection with you. Because you know, according to all known science, you can't be dead for three days and come back to life. So if you're believing billions of years because you're understanding of science, then you have no reason to believe the resurrection because it's not scientific either. If you believe the resurrection, you're being inconsistent and teaching our children to be inconsistent also. That's dangerous, folks. We need to be consistent with God's word, not picking and choosing what we want to believe and not believe. That's how I do that when I take it right to the gospel. You have no reason to believe the resurrection if you don't believe Genesis 1, because you're understanding of science. Mike, you're being awful tough and mean. Thank you. Genesis 1, 5 again. Then we have the number of the word day. Everywhere in the Old Testament, we have the number of the word day. Guess what it means? A day. No exceptions. Evening and morning. Every time that's used in the Old Testament, it always means a day. No exceptions. There was no death before sin. The Bible clearly teaches that, no death before sin. Death entered as a result of rebellion sin. Genesis 131, God called his creation perfect. Folks, if there was millions and millions of years going on there, meaning millions of years of death, disease, and struggle, then Genesis 131, God called all that death and disease and struggle very good. If he called all that animal death very good, then let's go out and shoot all the animals, because God called that very good. See, it maligns the character of God, also, millions of years. Exodus 20, verse 11. Now we're in the Ten Commandments. Know what God says in the Ten Commandments? For in six days the Lord made the heaven, the earth, the sea, and all that's in them. If we don't believe Genesis 1, then that commandment doesn't mean what it says, and if that commandment doesn't mean what it says, let's throw the other nine away, because they're just nothing more than suggestions now, open to our interpretation. Genealogies, Genesis chapter 5, that's where we get the age of the earth to be about 6,000 years old. Because when you line up those first names, what you see is their lifespans overlap, which shows there could not have been any gaps in there. What information we get in there, the Genesis 5 genealogies, when the person was born, when the next person in the timeline was born, when they died, and how long they lived. That's enough information to determine whether there's any missing names or not. And when you line those names up, here's how it comes. Notice Adam was living at the same time as Noah's father, and Noah was living at the same time as Abraham's father. Their lifespans overlapped, so it wouldn't make any difference if there's any missing names in there. God took care of everything. No missing names. Oh, Mike, Mike, Mike, you forgot something. I love those kind of discussions. You forgot something. Couldn't there have been millions of years of geologic time before Adam? Ooh. No. No. Jesus took care of that one. Mark 10, verse 6. Let's take a look at this. We know that the time from today back to the time of Jesus is about 2,000 years. We got the records for that. We also know the time from Jesus back to Abraham is about 2,000 years. We have enough records for that. So the only time in question is from Abraham back to Adam. You look at the genealogy, that's about 2,000 years. And now I need my math experts. Add that up for me. I got my degrees in mathematics, but a couple of things I couldn't do very well. Add, subtract, and count. For some reason, that was a block in my brain. We add that up, we get an age of the earth about 6,000. But then again, people say, oh, Mike, there could have been long geologic ages before Adam. But Jesus answered that one when he said this. But from the beginning of the creation, God made them male and female. Jesus just told us right there, man and woman were on this planet from the beginning of creation, not after millions of years. Comes down to you believe Jesus now. Number nine. Foundation for understanding the book of Revelation. I'm going to do this and not get into any eschatology. How's that sound? It's the foundation for the gospel. It's also a foundation for understanding the last book. Had to say that so you wouldn't cringe there. Let's look at this. The book ends. Genesis, paradise lost. Revelation, paradise restored. In Genesis, the curse is announced. So all the creation is cursed. Revelation, the curse is removed. In Genesis chapter three, we toil for food. Revelation, we have an abundance of food. Genesis, death for all. Revelation, no more death. Well, that's a wonderful verse to read there. No more death, no more pain, no more suffering. Genesis, we have to wear coats of skin. Revelation, clean linen. Genesis, the tree of life is denied. Revelation, tree of life supplied. Genesis, we're banished from paradise. Revelation, entrance into heaven. Genesis, redemption is promised. Redemption is accomplished in Revelation. Genesis, evil is everywhere now because of sin. Revelation, evil is excluded. Angels block the way. Angels show the way. Man is separated from God because of sin. God dwells with man in the end. Creation is corrupted because of sin. Revelation, creation is restored. All things will be made new. If you don't believe Genesis, how are you gonna understand the last book of the Bible? You've lost all your hope, because that last book gives us a lot of hope, because we have victory, folks. See, Genesis is the foundation for both the gospel and for understanding the last book of the Bible. And finally, number 10. Why the book of Genesis is under such great attack? Because the first three chapters are the foundation for the gospel. See, the other side knows they don't have to attack the gospels. They just attack the foundation and the church will crumble. So many are going along with what the world is teaching. Genesis is the foundation for almost every one of our biblical doctrines. The first three chapters of Genesis is the reason the whole rest of the Bible had to take place. That's how important it is. After Genesis chapter 3, the rest of the Bible is God's plan of redemption and restoration. That's why it's under such great attack. It's why 60% of our youth are leaving the church today. Let me give you some of the reasons. Christianity is shallow and too exclusive. Yeah, we are exclusive. The Bible is exclusive. It says there's only one way. But shallow, there's no reason for preaching to be shallow. I see too many churches doing that. They don't want to teach this stuff because they're afraid. Somebody in the audience, their congregation, may not like them because they have a PhD in biology. I'd rather have Jesus like me than somebody with a PhD. I'd like to have them both like me, but if they're not going to believe God's word, I'm going to take Jesus every time. Christian appears to be anti-science. Folks, there's no need for that. That's because of a lack of teaching in the churches and Christian universities. Because all the science agrees with God's word. God's the creator of all science. So why are we appearing anti-science? There's no reason for that. Learning about evolution in college, our students cannot stand up against the immersive training they're going to get in colleges. You're going to be ridiculed for what you believe. But count it all joy, folks. Think of what Paul went through, beaten nearly to death, thrown in prison. So what if we get called a few names? I've been screamed at, hollered at, cursed at from my own brothers, who are extreme atheists. Lack of specific or scientific evidence for a creator. We have all the evidence we need. Starts in Genesis 1.1, imitating God. And oh, by the way, nothing could exist without a creator God, so tell me where your universe came from. See how that works there? Just turning around on them. College is a hostile environment towards Christianity. Yes, it is. Very hostile. And it means we need to start preparing our children for college or you're going to lose them. And who's got to prepare them? Well, let's look at this. Who's the number one teacher in a child's life? It's the parents, folks. We as parents need to arm ourselves. Don't put all this on the churches and Christian universities. It starts in the home. And the teaching of moral relativism. There are no absolutes. That's true for you, but not for me. Who are you to pass your morality on me? They need to understand how to answer those questions. And finally, what we're finding out is a lot of youth that come to youth groups are not even saved. I was on an airplane. I'm quite awful on airplanes. And a group of young, I call them really young, they're high school. When you get my old age, 50 years old looks young. And they got on the plane and there was a seat next to me and one of them sat down next to me, high school student. And I thought, I'm gonna play a role here. I just gotta do this. And I said, are you from a church group? And they said, yes. I said, where were you? They were going on a mission trip. Okay, so that's good. you're on a mission trip, are you one of those people who believe the Bible?" He said, yeah. And I kept the conversation going. I did my best to get that young gentleman to give me the gospel and he wouldn't do it. I almost begged him to give me the gospel and he wouldn't do it. We have a problem, don't we? You know, the things that our youth do sometimes on the Easter, and there's some good groups that go out there, some very good ones. But what I've seen from a lot of them, we could send atheists and do the same thing. They can build buildings too. Before anybody goes on a mission trip, they'd be able to share the gospel and defend the gospel. So how is this done? This is what happens called deception. I call it the 3Ds, the exact same tactics Satan used in the Garden of Eden. Infiltrate the churches and Christian universities with secular ideas. They've done that very well. Get people to accept billions of years. Train the next generation to believe this. This is exactly what has happened, folks, and the church has not responded predominantly. Get people to accept evolution or parts of evolution. Train the next generation to believe this. We have teachers in our Christian schools today that are not saved. I can attest to that on numerous occasions. Cause doubt. Get the church to believe creation is not an important issue or that it does not matter what you believe, especially about the age of the earth. They've done very well with that, too. Because of a lack of teaching in the church and much compromise, people begin to doubt the context of Genesis Genesis 1, and look for ways to add billions of years, the day-age theory, the gap theory, poetic framework hypotheses, and on and on. We've come up with so many ideas to try and accept billions of years. People are unaware of the effects of this compromise, how it affects the gospel, how it affects the character of God. And then we have denial, which is the unfortunate conclusion. Over 60% of our youth that attend church today are leaving the church before they finish school. That is a tragic result, statistic there. Many church leaders do not believe creation is an important issue, especially youth pastors, they don't teach it. And many Christian universities have compromised the Word of God. Going to a Christian university can be very dangerous today. Too many of our youth going there are coming out not believing God's Word today. John MacArthur makes this statement. I'm convinced the opening chapters of Genesis are not optional. They establish the vital foundation for everything we believe as Christians. Robert McCabe. Genesis is the foundation for the remaining 65 books of the Bible. And we go on and on with those. David Hunt also. Genesis is absolutely foundational for the gospel and much of our Christian doctrine. And I think you got the point there. So what can be done? Here's what we can do. Number one, we need to understand the mission of the church. We forgot our mission. And the mission is this. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. What's that next word? Teaching them to follow all that I have commanded you We are to make disciples disciples do not get made by just listening You don't make disciples by just listening That's the our purpose of our ministry is to train others to speak and teach and you don't do that by just speaking we need to produce doers of the word and In our Sunday school classes, Christian schools, we've got to stop being like the world. Methodology-wise, Christian education is no different than the world. Pass the written test, you know it. But see, here's the real thing. Can you use it? Yes, you can write it down on paper, but can you use it? We've got to stop teaching everything and start backing off from the teaching everything. But what we teach, let's see if we can get demonstrated that they can actually use it. In other words, let's challenge them and let them speak it, try it. That's what our ministry does. We've now got a whole program for producing master apologists, and we can do it in two years or less, make master apologists. It's grueling, but we can do it for much less than half the price you'll ever pay at a university, probably only about a tenth of the price going to university. You go to a Christian university, what you're gonna get is learned philosophy. I don't talk to many philosophers. I'm not interested in the philosophy, folks. I'm interested in biblical apologetics. I'm interested in the evidence because God created it all. I don't care about the philosophy. I'm going to take it from philosophy right to the Bible as soon as I can. That's the kind of apologetics we need. And we need to be able to practice it, verbalize this. So we need to stop teaching Everything teach half of it and that half they will be able to use That's the Christian education what it should be become doers of the word Before you ever start a class or course you need to ask yourself this question, and you need to answer it What do you expect your students to be able to do or perform when they finish this course if you don't do that folks? You're cheating your students And notice, do and perform. Can they really do this? Don't just stand in there and lecture for 12 weeks. That's what the world does. We're gonna be better than that. So I'm gonna open it up for questions now. Anybody have any questions? I'm pretty scary and fearful, aren't I? I do that so I never get questions. No, no, no. Okay, if you have a question, put up your hand and I'll come around with the microphone. Oh, I got one, but he doesn't come to me. What we need to do is have one over here, then one way over there, and we'll time him. Yeah, you had mentioned the DNA and the blood cells that have been found in dinosaurs. Yes. All the research. Can you give examples of that? The T-Rex, we've found them in the T-Rex. We've found them in multiple dinosaurs. Was it Camarasaurus? In multiple dinosaurs, we've actually found some of the DNA. It's partial DNA, but it shouldn't be there at all. And Rudd-Blow cells, we found that in many, many dinosaurs. And where did we find them? Something in the Dakotas, Alaska. We're finding unfossilized dinosaur bones everywhere. I have some at home. They're still bones. They're lightweight. They haven't been mineralized yet. So we're finding them in a lot of different locations, especially in America. Because all the way from Mexico, all the way up through Canada, there's this great big formation. It looks like it was all laid down at one time. And it's just chuck full. That's the scientific term, chuck full of dinosaur bones, especially up in Montana. We find lots of them up there. Good, good, I like that. Double time it, double time it. You can say, don't forget it, it's a compliment. You say, he's not a nice person, that's a compliment. My wife will get at me, she threatens to call me nice, and that would ruin everything. Yes? So why is it called a fossil fuel? Why is it called a fossil fuel? because that's where we get some of them from. We get different fuels, like coal. Is that a fossil fuel? Well, it comes from living things. That's what we're talking about, fossil fuels. It comes from something that was living, because coal was once living things, called trees. And the bark off trees are what produce some of the coal, or swamp vegetation, they say. But we have firm evidence from Mount St. Helens that bark, over time, in very short time, is turning into peat at Mount St. Helens Spirit Lake. So the reason it's fossil fuels is because it comes from once living things. Somebody over, way over there. Anybody have a question? Way over there. You better run over there just to make sure. Yeah. Okay, we have time for one more question. If there's a question out there, okay. Good. You're in the right position over there. Thank you. You don't want to miss a chance to be mean. What was the carbon 14 that you were talking about? What was the carbon 14? Well, carbon is an isotope. There's the different flavors, that's the technical term, flavors, of carbon. There's carbon-12, carbon-13, carbon-14. The thing is, they're all, you label an element by what it is, type of element, by the number of protons that's in it. Carbon has six, so all carbon has six protons. Well, carbon-14, we'll just talk about that one. It's not natural to our atmosphere. It's actually produced in our atmosphere. How does it get in there? Well, our atmosphere, the two prominent gases are nitrogen and oxygen. And cosmic rays come down, bombard our atmosphere, tremendous force and intensity. And the end result is some of the nitrogen atoms get changed into carbon-14 atoms. It's a proton-neutron change that happens in there. So some of the nitrogen gets turned into carbon-14. Carbon combines with oxygen, gives us carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide gets taken in by the plants. We eat it, and we breathe it. So all living things will get carbon-14 in them. But once we die, we no longer eat or breathe. I think that's pretty safe to say. So we're not taking any carbon-14 in us once we're dead. But the carbon-14, since it's unstable, ooh, did I say something there? Yes, I did. You have carbon-14 in you. Carbon-14 is unstable. So what does that make you? Unstable. Right. Now you have a reason for acting the way you do. See, science is fun. Since it's unstable, it decays out. And we estimate after about 80,000 years, all the carbon-14 should have decayed out of something. But we're finding it in these dinosaurs that are supposed to be 65 million years old all over the planet, which means they could not have been dead that long. And we can rule out contamination. That's the common argument. Oh, it's contamination. We can rule that out. If it was contamination, we'd find varying amounts of carbon-14 in these bones. But we don't. We find a consistent amount all around the world, which means they all died about the same time. Isn't that wonderful news? Does that answer your question there? One more question here, Mike. Mike, what words of wisdom and encouragement can you give to people who are currently in college or looking to go to? Wisdom going to a current college? Number one, as parents, we need to equip them for what's going to happen. We need to equip them if they're going to a Christian university, because you're going to have Bible teachers. And I have a granddaughter going to a, it's advertised as a Christian university, but she's well-trained. And she tells me what's being taught in the Bible class. Genesis is not history. Where it says all scriptures God breathed doesn't really mean that. There's contradictions in the Bible. This is coming from the teacher in supposedly a Christian school. We need to make sure our children are well-grounded. As parents, don't lose your children. You will if you go to a Christian university. Some of the ones that are good, like Master's College. Liberty University is still pretty good, although they're starting to get cracks. I have a granddaughter going there, too. Right now, it's a pretty good college. They're pretty strong on this issue and on the Bible. Cedarville is pretty good. If you go in their bookstore, they have all kinds of other books in there you gotta be careful of. Bob Jones is still pretty good. They're putting out some pretty good books, too. But secular university, it's going to be hard. You have to train them. You don't have to get up and pronounce you're a Christian in the classroom. Because not only will the teacher ridicule you, the students will, too. Be careful about challenging a professor in college, because you'll lose your grade and get ridiculed. Make them prepared for those kind of things. Can they hold up against ridicule as the only one in that class and everyone's against you? It's hard for somebody that age. My age, it doesn't matter. I can wear plaid shirts and striped pants and it doesn't matter. But no, children, they're not equipped for this kind of thing. We need to protect them as much as possible. Get them, you go to a church that, for every church like this that teaches God's word from the beginning, there's a dozen in this area that will refuse to allow a sin. So thank goodness you have a pastor who's teaching the truth. Do I get my, okay. So you're just gonna have to spend time with them. Some real serious time and make sure they understand. Oh, that's fine. I like that. It's the other person's. But my our daughter well equipped, our grandchildren, so they're ready for this. But even that it's still hard. Okay, and we happen to have a granddaughter going to the same university as Mike's granddaughter, so we're very pleased with that. So anyway, this is the end of the question time. Mike will be out there. If you have other questions for him, just feel free to aggravate them with your questions, whatever. So let me just end in a word of prayer and they'd be dismissed. Father, we thank you for this time. We thank you for the information that you have given us. Thank you for your creation that we can study it and we can see that it matches your word and we thank you for that. We thank you for Mike and his ministry among us in Jesus name we pray. Amen.
