Here in about verse five, make my way down to about verse eight, Philippians chapter two. And I'll begin there in about verse five, and I'll make my way down to about verse eight. So I'll give you a minute to find your place there. And the next place that we're gonna be is the book of Job chapter nine. The book of Job chapter nine, verses 32 to 35. Job chapter 9, verses 32 to 35. And then Philippians chapter 2, verses 5 to 8. Philippians chapter 2, verse 5 to 8. Job chapter 9, verses 32 to 35. And when you find your place, stand with me if you would. We're gonna read the word of God together this morning, and I'm gonna use both of these texts here today for my message this morning. I pray they'll be a blessing to you. I think anytime we open up the word of God and ask God to give us something, God always will. If you're looking for something, you'll get it, amen?
And so let's take a look at what the Bible says this morning, Philippians chapter two, and let's begin there in verse five. The Bible says, let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus, who being in the form of God, He thought it not robbery to be equal with God, but made himself with no reputation and took upon him the form of a servant and was made in the likeness of men. And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
Let's take a look at Job chapter nine, there in verse 32 and verse 35. Job speaking, he says, for he, speaking of the Lord, for he is not a man as I am, that I should answer him, and we should come together in judgment. Neither is there any daysman betwixt us that might lay his hand upon us both. Let him take his rod away from me. and let not his fear terrify me. Then would I speak and not fear him, but it was not so with me.
The title of the message this morning is The Daysman Came. There in verse 33. Let's pray today. Father, we come to you this morning. We thank you, God, for your blessing. Lord, I pray to help us this morning as we open up your word and Lord, as we preach today. God, that you would speak to our hearts through it. and that Lord as we think about Christmas and as we think about the Savior Lord as we think about you being the days man of our life Lord the only place in the whole Bible where that word is ever even used but the idea is throughout the whole scripture but God I pray this morning that you would use Lord this message God to help us to see exactly who you are and that Lord you'd help us to think even that much more about the greatest gift that a man could ever possess which is the Lord Jesus Christ a free gift that came from heaven to us all and Lord if there's anybody here this morning that's never accepted you as a Savior I pray Lord today that we'll
Now Lord, I ask God you'd help me as I preach this morning just to use me for your honor and glory. And then God, that you just fill me, God, with your spirit. And Lord, just give me that unction this morning that I need. Lord, I love you. And I look forward to what you're gonna do in our service today in the hearts of the people. And this we pray and ask in Jesus' name, amen.
Amen, you may be seated. We're gonna begin there in Philippians chapter two, there in Philippians chapter two, there in verse eight this morning. As I said, I've entitled this message The Day the Daysmen Came. We think about the Lord Jesus during this Christmas time and we think about him being born. We think about Mary and Joseph and even also the front runner of Christ, we think about his parents. and John the Baptist who comes on the scene just a little before. But here this morning, I wanted to kind of give you a little bit something different as we think about Christmas and the Lord Jesus being born.
I think when we get to Philippians chapter two, we can see in verses five and eight, and also as we look at Job in chapter nine 32 and following, we can see kinda how they go both together. We're gonna look at really the oldest book from the Bible, there in the book of Job, all the way to Philippians, from the Old Testament to the New Testament, and see how they really link together during this Christmas time.
We'll begin here in verse five, there in Philippians chapter two. Notice the Bible says as we begin, the Bible says, Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus. The idea is when he says let this mind be in you, the idea is let this, the mindset, this is the way of thinking perhaps what we need to see this morning. Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus. What was the mindset of Christ? What was he thinking? What was he doing?
The Bible shows us there in verse six, this was the mindset of Christ. We think about the Lord Jesus being born, the Bible says there in verse 6, who being in the form of God thought it not robbery to be equal with God. So there in verse 6, one of the things that we see, and of course in verse 7, the Bible says that he took upon himself the form of a servant, which is man. And so we can see that the Lord Jesus, he was fully God, he was fully man. fully God, fully man at the same time.
Now, listen, whenever the Lord Jesus was born, that don't mean that he set aside his deity. He was always God, still God. Doesn't mean he set aside his deity, but what it does mean is that he veiled himself, he veiled his glory in the flesh of man. And so what we can see here is the Bible tells us that one of the things that the Lord Jesus did, as he was born, there in Bethlehem, the Bible says that he, there in verse six, so being in the form of God, who he is, Jesus is God. He was in the form of God. The Bible says he thought it not robbery to be equal with God, but made himself of no reputation.
The very first truth I want us to see is, I want us to see number one, is that he was selfless. He was selfless, selfless in his humility. Now humility doesn't mean weakness, it's power. under control. Humility is not thinking less of yourself, it's thinking of yourself less. Humility is not weakness, it is willingness. We understand the Lord Jesus, he laid aside the visible glory of his nature by veiling himself in the flesh of man. They're born by the Virgin Mary, there in Bethlehem that night, from the manger, all the way, listen, from the manger to the cross, to being seated once again at the right hand of the power of God. Jesus never ceased to be God. He was always God, has always been God, will always be God.
But we can see here in the text that the Lord Jesus, he veiled himself. He took upon himself a humble role to become like the servant, to become a servant, to become man clothed in the flesh. The Bible tells us in 2 Corinthians chapter 8 and verse 9 that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor. The mind of Christ was the idea to leave the glories and the splendors of heaven and to leave the honor and the majesty and all of that that was there to come down to this earth to be born of the Virgin Mary there, to be born of her there in Bethlehem in that manger, taking upon himself, clothing himself, clothing his majesty, clothing his glory.
Listen, when the Lord Jesus showed up to the whole world, He didn't show up as necessarily as a king that everybody would see. Now we do see that later on, we do see the wise men, they come in a couple of years or maybe so later, they come in and they present their gifts, we see the shepherds, they went there that night, they acknowledged him and who he was, but for the world in general, for the world in general, the world did not see the Lord Jesus as the king, that he was. He laid aside, he laid aside all of that.
Now think about this. Now the kings of the world, when the kings of the world, they wear their robes and they wear their crowns and they come in and have the desire for people to bow down unto them and to pay them homage, so to speak. But when the Lord Jesus came, he laid all that to the side. The Lord Jesus came and It was in essence like when the Lord Jesus came, it was in essence like he took the crown off of his head. He took the crown off his head almost in essence and laid it to the side and took off his robe and laid it off to the side and came down and was born there. in Bethlehem clothed himself in the flesh of man and became a servant.
The Bible says the Lord Jesus said to himself, I didn't come to be ministered to, but I came to minister. He came to be a servant. The Bible says he clothed himself and he became a servant. So we see the very first thing this morning is when we think about the Lord Jesus, when the Lord Jesus was born in Bethlehem, he was still God, is was God, is God, Steal God. Steal God today. but he clothed himself, he clothed his glory.
Now there was a moment, and there was a moment whenever he was on the Mount of Transfiguration, and he showed his disciples there, at least three of them anyway, there in the Mount of Transfiguration, the Bible says he shone bright as lightning. The Bible says he shone as bright as the sun, as bright as lightning. And there he showed these men who he was, the three of his disciples that was there with him. They seen him in his glory, up to that moment, really, and everybody else, His glory was veiled. Nobody really knew that He was the King of the whole universe. His glory was veiled.
We see that He came with humility. We see that He was selfless. Notice, we also see that there in verse 6, the Bible says, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God, but made himself of no reputation.
You see, the Lord Jesus had a reputation. What was that? Was that he was the God of heaven. He was the God of all there is. But when the Lord Jesus came down to this earth, the Bible says that he made himself of no reputation. In other words, whenever he came here, not everybody knew who he was. Nobody knew that he was the God of heaven, the creator of all that there is, except for a few people. The world itself did not know and understand necessarily the announcement. They didn't see who Jesus was. He laid all that aside. He laid down the glories of heaven, laid aside and laid aside all of that to come down to this world. The Bible says he made himself of no reputation.
You know what that may also mean? Do you see those two words, made himself? Those two words, made himself, that means that nobody made the Lord Jesus do what he did. Nobody made Christ do what he did. Nobody made the Lord Jesus come down to this earth. Nobody made the Lord Jesus die on the cross. Nobody made the Lord Jesus set his crown off to the side. Nobody made the Lord Jesus do anything. The Lord Jesus did it willingly. He did it faithfully and He did it willingly. He did it because He desired to. He saw that man was lost and His desire was to come and be the mediator between God and man, to be the advocate between us and the Father. That's what He desired to do, to cleanse and wash men of their sins.
His name, His very name, the name Jesus means God. Jehovah saves means God saves Jehovah saves and that is what Christ came to do his very name bears his very mission His very name Describes what it is that his desire is to do which is to save men from their sins and to give them a place in heaven
the Bible not only do we see that he was a that he was selfless, but we also see that he was a man that was a servant. The Bible says he made himself of no reputation and took upon himself the form of a servant. Listen, he left the throne room of heaven and came down to this world. He left the throne, he left sitting on the throne, came down to this world and picked up a servant's towel and did what? Washed feet. That's what he did. That's what the Lord Jesus did. He left the throne room of heaven. He left the glory and the majesty, and he left the honor. Listen, he left it all, and he came down to a sin-cursed, sin-filled world, and he was in the form, in the form of a man.
You'll notice the Bible mentions a couple times there in verse six that he was in the form of God. That's what he was. But then he took on another form, and what was that? He was fashioned. He was fashioned into the likeness of a man. There in verses seven and eight. There in verse eight, being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself. And so we see that he was in the form of God. But the form of God then became the form of man and humbled himself there in Bethlehem so that he would live this perfect sinless life. and die on an old rugged cross to give Himself for us, to pay the sin that we had.
Jehovah saves is what His name means. We see that He is selfless, but we also see that He is a servant. He came to serve the people of the world. He came to be a servant to us, but He is also our God. But He came to minister unto us the Lord Jesus said himself that he that is greatest among you be your servant and so we can see here that he was that he was a man that was selfless but we also see that he was a man that was a servant the Bible says he made himself of no reputation listeners lots of people that have that they were they said well I need to I need to make sure that I maintain my reputation. I need to make sure that I keep my reputation.
We think about the kings that have been in this world over time and notable people. They have a reputation for this and they have a reputation for that. But what we see is the Lord Jesus, He decided to lay that down, to lay that off to the side so that He can come down to this world and take on the form of a servant. Lay aside all of that so that he can come here when nobody knew him. The Bible says he came unto his own, and his own received him not. He came down to a place where people did not want him, did not desire him, but yet he gave himself. And even though that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. I'm just trying to get us to see this one in the Lord Jesus, though he was God. He was in the form of God. Thought it not robbery to be equal with God. He is God. But yet he came down to this earth, in the form, clothed himself in the form of the flesh, born there as a baby there in Bethlehem, there to Mary and Joseph, to become a servant, to become a servant.
The Bible shows us here in our text, there in verse 8, and of course what was the goal of that there in verse 8 was that he would live his life. He came so that there in verse 8 that he would not only, see, I want you to notice this, third truth is sacrificial, but I want you to notice his selflessness was his selflessness enabled him to serve, and his servant made him to sacrifice. They all linked together. Because he was selfless, he had a desire to serve, and because he had a desire to serve, he had a desire to sacrifice, and he just sacrificed himself.
The Bible says there in verse eight, in being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient unto death. even the death of the cross. And so the Bible shows us here what the Lord Jesus did for us, how he came to this world and died for us, that he gave himself, though he was in the form of God, and equal with God. God the Son came down and was born to die on a cross for us. The gospel right here in these messages.
Now I want you to hold your place here, and I want you to go over to the book of Job, in Job chapter 32. We say, well, the Lord Jesus, he came down to this world so that he can be the advocate, so that he could be the mediator, so that he could be the sacrifice between a sinful people and an almighty God. So we go back to the oldest book of the Bible and notice what the Bible says there in the book of Job.
The Bible says Job speaking. Now Job's been through an awful lot up to this point. There's been a lot of things that's happened in his life. Job at this point, he feels far away from God. His health has been gone. He's lost his wealth. His children have passed away. He has lost a lot up to this point. And so Job here in Job chapter 9, we see that he, in essence, it's almost like he feels distant from God. It's almost like he says, you know what, what I need is I need somebody that'll come in and stand between me and the Lord. And notice as he begins to speak, notice what happens there in verse 32.
The Bible says as he is speaking, he says, for he, talking about God, he says, he's not a man as I am that I should answer him. In other words, how can I argue against God? How can I argue against the God of heaven who knows all things? How can I argue against the God who is perfect in every single way? And so he says there in verse 32, for he's not a man such as I am. He understands the God of heaven. He understands that he is perfect in all of his ways, that he is just, that he's not flawless, that he doesn't have flaws in his life, but that he is flawless. And so he says, he's not a man as I am, He's not like me. I've got flaws, and I'm weak, and I don't know all things, and I've got problems, and I'm sinful, but he is not like me. He says, who am I that I should answer him? He says, and we should come together in judgment. How can me and the God of heaven finally come to an agreement? How can us come to a meeting place and sit down? I mean, I'm so sinful, and I'm so vile, and I'm so wicked, and he's so just, and he's so holy. How can I compete with that? How can I argue with that? Where could there be this meeting place for us to come together and reconcile this thing out?
And then notice what he says. He says there in verse 33, the only place in the whole Bible, the Bible says this. He says, neither is there any daysman betwixt us that might lay his hand upon us both.
He said, well, what was a daisman? Well, a daisman really was the same thing as a mediator, the same thing as like a go-between. A daisman was a type of person that had to fulfill certain qualifications to be able to fill this position.
Number one, the daisman had to be seen as accepted by both sides. accepted by both sides. In other words, it was, you had one person that had a problem, you had this person that had a problem, they had a problem with each other. What would the daisman do? The daisman would come in, he's friends with this one, he's friends with this one, and so the daisman would come in, and in order for things to work out, this party over here would say, okay, I accept this daisman, I like him, he fulfills the qualifications. The person over here would say, okay, I like this person. He fulfills the qualifications of what we need. He can be the daisman that's in between us two. In other words, he's gonna be the mediator between the both of us.
And so he says, you know what? What I need is I need a daisman. He says, I need a daisman in my life. There in verse 33. But he says, neither is there any daisman. You know why? Because listen, being a daisman between man and man's one thing, being a daisman between man and God's another. That's different. He said, I need somebody, the next verse, he says, that can put the hands on both parties. I need somebody that can put a hand on God, put a hand on me, and be the go-between between us both. That's what I need. That's what I need in my life.
How beautiful, how perfect. He says, I need the daisman in my life. He says there in the verse, in verse 33, he says, neither is there any daisman. There were daisman around, I'm sure, people that he can look at that maybe perhaps would fulfill some qualifications of who this person would be. But as I said, being a daisman between a man and a man is one thing, but being a daisman between God and man is completely different. And Job, as he looked around, he says, there is no daisman that fits that qualification. I know of nobody that can put his hand on God and put his hand on man and be the go-between between the two of them. I know nobody like that. And that's what I need, but I don't have nobody like that. But I definitely need that.
Now we go forward in time. What is it that man still needs today, even though the days of him has already come? What is it that man still needs today? He needs what we need today because we're sinful. and because we're evil, and because we're wicked people, and we go our own way and do our own thing, but yet there is a God in heaven that is holy, and just, and righteous, and all that he does.
What do we need? We need the daysman. We need the mediator. We need the one that can be the advocate between us and the Father, and on that Christmas morning, as we would call it, the Lord Jesus himself, who thought it not robbery to be equal with God, who was in the form of God, laid all that to the side, to become a man, to become a child, and be the mediator between sinful man and a holy, righteous God.
Holy, righteous God. One of the qualifications, they had to be accepted by both parties. Number two, Desmond had to be familiar with the law. I tell you what, he is the fulfillment of the law. But the daisman had to be familiar with the law. He had to be familiar, he had to be a man that was full of wisdom. He had to understand what the law was because he was gonna act as, the daisman was gonna be the judge and the jury between both parties and whatever it is that he laid out, whatever it is that he said, that's how it was gonna be and that was final.
So both men, both parties had to look at the same person and say, yes, we're gonna trust what he says. we're gonna believe what he says. Whatever it is that he says, that's the path we're gonna go. Whatever it is that he says, we're gonna take. Whatever judgment he lays out, whatever it is that he decides, this is the path that we're gonna take.
So he had to understand the law. And when the Lord Jesus came, what was he? As I said, the Bible says that he was the fulfillment. of that. I mean the Lord Jesus himself, the Bible tells us there in the book of John, in chapter one verse one and following, the Bible says that he is the word. He was the bodily fulfillment of the word himself. The word of God became flesh and dwelt amongst men. He was the fulfillment of the law. So not only was he accepted by both parties, but he had to know the law through and through and in and out.
Number three, he had to be an authority figure, as I said. A judge, to have legal authority that what he said was binding. So both parties had to look at the days and say, all right, you're the judge in this thing. You got the power, whatever it is that you say, that's what we're gonna do. And whatever it is that you say, that's what we're gonna do. And so what did the Lord Jesus do? Not only is he the fulfillment of the law, but he is also the one that is the authority. He's also the one that as he became the mediator between God and man, when he died on the cross, he said, it is finished. It is finished. And when that sacrifice was paid, and he bled out there on the cross, and the Lord Jesus said, Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do. And he lifts up his voice towards heaven, and he says, It is finished. And he gave himself to become the perfect sacrifice for man. Nobody killed the Lord Jesus. The Bible says he gave it up himself. He gave up the ghost. He gave himself willingly.
So the father in heaven was looking down on the perfect sacrifice and was willing to accept the perfect sacrifice that his son had made. And if his son had said, listen, it is finished, it is done, the father was going to accept that. And on the other side, those on the other side, such as Job and you and I, who are sinful and wicked in our ways, and how can we compare to an almighty just God? I mean, here we all were guilty. We look at what the davesmen did for us, and we say, you know what? I accept what he's done because there's no way in the world I could ever do anything what he did. There's no way possible. I'm not sinless like he is. I'm not perfect like he is. I'm not the authority and deity like he is. I'm not all known and full of wisdom like he is. I don't know the law like he does. I accept what he's done.
It's Christmas. The day's been this, Christmas. not only accepted by both parties, number one, not only familiar with the law, number two, not only authoritative there, number three, but is also willing to be a representative of both sides. Someone who is not partial. One who can represent both sides.
And notice in the text, notice what he says. He says there in verse 33, neither is there any daysman betwixt us that might lay his hand upon both those. and has the idea of, in our minds, we think about the idea of the daisman here, one party here, one party there, they're looking at each other, and the daisman is able to put his hand on both sides, standing between the two, and is able to be the advocate for him and the advocate for him, who fully understands where God's coming from. Who can be the one that can speak for God? Who can speak for God except for God himself? That's why Jesus is the perfect days. Because he is God. He is the son of God.
So the son of God can speak for the father. So here he is. He's speaking. He's about the father's business. He's speaking to the father. And the Bible says that when God looked at his son, he says that this is my beloved son in whom I'm well pleased. He is speaking on behalf of the father, reasoning from the father to man who is guilty and sinful.
But Jesus, when he became man, Jesus, when he became man, understood man. And though he was perfect in every way, no sin nature at all, he became man. The Bible says he even endured, he understands the temptations. He wasn't touched with anything that we wouldn't be familiar with ourselves. He understands where we are, he understands what we're coming from, he understands what we're going through. And so he became a man himself.
So as the son of man, as the book of Luke represents the Lord Jesus as. He was the son of man, but he was also, in the book of John, the son of God. And he was the daysman between the two, between God and man. He fully understood man because he became a man. He fully understood God because he is God.
And so what Job needed, he said, is I need the daisman. Not an earthly daisman. I don't need an earthly daisman. I need a heavenly daisman. One that can speak for God, one that knows God, but also one that can speak for my side too. One that understands how I feel and understands what I'm going through in my life. I need somebody to come between us. I need a heavenly daisman. And that's what Job is saying.
Many years ago, the Lord Jesus came down and was born there in Bethlehem and became the daisman for every single one of us.
The next truth about the daisman. The next truth about the daisman is this. The Bible says, the next truth about the days of men is this, they had to understand both sides, their circumstances. They had to know their motives. They had to understand the situation. They had to know the heart of both parties. Who is it that can know the heart of a man other than the Lord Jesus himself? Who is it that can understand the motive of a man's heart other than the Lord Jesus himself?
Now, the Bible tells us, you know, in the Scriptures, and people use this very often, well, the Bible says you ought not judge. Well, does that mean we just let everybody just do what they want to do? No, that's not what it means at all. The Bible says you judge righteous judgment, right? You examine everything under the lens of the Scripture. And so what we have to do is, is the Lord Jesus himself, he is the only one that can see the motive of the heart. We're not allowed to judge that. That's hands off. That's God's department. God knows the motive of the individual. He understands that. He sees that, not you. But he sees the motive. He understands what's in the heart.
And what Job needed and what we needed was we needed someone that can represent my heart before God. I needed somebody that can say, you know what, I know exactly how he feels, I know exactly what he's going through, and he could be the mediator between us. And Jesus being God fully knows. But Jesus also being God fully knows what he desires for a man to be, what he desires for a man to do.
The next thing. is he needs to be willing. Hold your place here, and you get back over to Philippians. And there in Philippians, chapter two, you'll notice it says there in the text, There in Philippians chapter two, there in verse eight, but he made himself of no reputation. What we see here is that the individual, the days man, had to be willing to do what he was doing. Not forced, but willing to do what he wanted, what he needed to do. And that's exactly what the Lord Jesus was. We see that the Bible says here in Philippians that he made himself of no reputation. In other words, he set aside it all. Cain was born of a virgin. He made himself. He was willing to do it on his own.
Job needed somebody that was willing to come in on his own and say, I'll help you guys out. I can take care of this. Do you see me as the authority? Yes. Do you see me as an authority? Yes. Can I be the go-between between you both? I understand your situation perfectly. I see that you're a sinner. I see that you need help. I see where you are. Listen, I understand you. I see you. My hand is not shortened that it cannot save you. I see exactly where you are. He looks at the God of heaven, the Father of heaven, God. Father, listen, I know your desire is to save them. I know your desire is for them to be forgiven and go to heaven, but you look at their sin, and you can't be in the midst of it, and it is defiling, and it is evil, and it is wicked, and you can't have that around you. You want it to be around, but you can't have it around you. So I tell you what I'll do. I'm willing to come to be in the meeting place between the both of you. And where was that? That was on Calvary. where God, or the Lord Jesus, reached up into heaven, grabbed ahold of the hand of God, and reached down to man, grabbed ahold of man, and said, I'll be the mediator between you both.
The last thing is this. We see that the days man had to be someone who was trustworthy, honest and righteous. Had to be someone who was of a righteous character. Had to be someone who was splendid in their attributes. Someone who was righteous. Someone who was honest. Someone who had integrity in their life. Not just anybody, but someone who was an example of the way that they lived. A righteous person. And who is there that could fulfill such a place? He says, Job says, I need a daisman. Not an earthly one, he says, but I need someone that can speak for God and speak for me. I need someone that can come between us both. Someone that's willing to do it. Someone that understands where I'm coming from, understands where God's coming from. I need someone who is righteous and trustworthy and honest. I need this person to be between us both. And that is, of course, the Lord Jesus. What does the Bible say when the Bible says there is none good but one? Christ Jesus. And so this morning, as we think about Christmas, When we think about the most important thing that we need in life, it is the dayspan.
And the day the dayspan was born, the day the heavenly dayspan was born, was the day that man could shout and celebrate for the greatest gift that had ever been given to the whole world. If you're here this morning and you're not saved, there is no greater moment, no greater time to accept Christ today.
Let's pray this morning. Father, we come to you today, Lord, we just thank you for your goodness. Lord, you are far better to us than we deserve. Lord, we pray here today and ask God for your help. Lord, we ask God today that you would speak to our hearts this morning. Help us to hear what we need to hear. Help us to see what we need to see. Lord, we're praying this morning and asking God for you to do business with us or whatever it is that we need to speak to you about. God, I pray that you'd help us do that today.
Father, I pray this morning that whatever it is that you may be desiring, Lord, to use out of your word. God, we need the days men in our life. God, whatever it is that you need us to see this morning about how perfect you are and how majestic you are and the goodness of who you are to us, Lord, I pray that you'd help us to see that.
That which was born in Bethlehem was exactly what we needed. A God in heaven that has a desire to save. A God in heaven that sent his only begotten son to save us from our sins. Lord, if there's anybody here this morning that is not saved, I do pray, Lord, that you would speak to their hearts about that today.
As the piano plays, whenever they get ready, and we think about ourselves, and we think about our lives, and what is it that you need this morning? During this Christmas time, oftentimes, we think about lots of things that we want. What is it that we really need today? What's we really need today? All of us, I believe we can see, we need Jesus.
I'm thankful the Bible says that the Lord is no respecter of persons. He's exactly what we needed. If He looks down on mankind, He has a desire to save us all. No matter where you are, no matter where you've been, no matter what you've done, So if you're here this morning, you've never accepted Christ as your personal savior, I encourage you to do so.
And you slip your hand up and say, preacher, I've never accepted Jesus as my savior, but I sure would like to this morning. Anybody like that here today? Never gotten saved, I'm not sure, if I died today, I know I wouldn't go to heaven, but I'm not sure. But I would sure like to get that settled this morning. Anybody like that here today?
Maybe it is that you're here this morning, you say, you know what, I'm thankful. I'm thankful the Lord Jesus was born. I'm thankful that as Job cried out on that day, Job chapter nine and verse 33, he didn't cry out for an earthly days, but he cried out for a heavenly one. But as he looked around in that moment, he didn't see one.
But how prophetic it would be when the Bible shows us throughout the scriptures that one day, the mediator would come. One day the perfect sacrifice would be made and that of course would be the son of God himself. 2,000 years ago the Lord Jesus was born, went to an old rugged cross and died for the sins of the world. He became the mediator between God and man, our advocate. The most precious gift that's ever been given. So when we think about this Christmas, what is it that I want and what is it that I need? I just wanna ask you, what do you need this morning? As Amanda sings, we're gonna open up the altar here this morning, and I encourage you to come. So if we can stand to our feet, and she's gonna sing, Maybe you just wanna come this morning and say, Lord, I just wanna say thank you for saving me. Thank you for the free gift of eternal life. Thank you for the salvation that I have. Thank you for your blessings on me. Thank you for not giving up on me.
