Throw out the lifeline. Throw out the lifeline. Someone is drifting away. Throw out the lifeline. Throw out the lifeline. Someone is sinking today. Can you see them drifting away? Can you see them sinking today? Our eyes should affect our hearts. Our hearts should be overwhelmed. That we must get them in. We must pray them in. We must get the Word of God to them. And before it's too late, before they reach that eternity shore, And that eternity shore is either heaven or hell.
And I tell you, the song talked about danger from men. I tell you, those we got to rescue them, I tell you, before they die in sin and go to hell. That is a real place. Spoke a little bit about that yesterday on the broadcast. The harvest has passed, and the summer has ended, and we're not saved. And I'll tell you, it's high time. I'll tell you, to get the Word of God out, it's high time to get busy about a father's business, but it's high time for you to come and receive the Lord, that salvation. shall come unto your house and receive Him, I tell you, because tomorrow may not be here.
And I tell you, some may say, well, I'm tired of hearing it. I tell you, that's all He says. I tell you, but it's the truth. And I'll cry aloud, and I'll spare not, and I'll lift up my voice like a trumpet, just like the Bible said do. And like I said yesterday, I must cry aloud. I must spare none. And I must lift up my voice and sound it like a trumpet. And you must, as well as a believer, to get the Word of God out and to tell him about Jesus who is mighty to save and warn him about a place called hell.
If you have your Bible, turn over to Romans chapter number 5, chapter 4 and 5. I want to talk about hope today and talk about the blessed hope. And I tell you, I'm thankful that I've got this hope. It's an anchor of my soul. It's steadfast. I tell you, it keeps me. I know this is a hope that I know. This is a faith that I have in Christ Jesus, knowing that I'm saved and know where I'm going. You see, knowing that, I tell you, it's not just in the mind, it's in the soul. It's in my heart. It's been shed abroad in my heart by the Holy Ghost.
You see, the Holy Spirit's been given unto me when I got saved. And I got this blessed hope on the inside. I'm not without witness. I'm not without the Lord. I tell you, the Bible says, He that hath the Son hath life. He that hath not the Son hath not life, but the wrath of God abides on him. You see, and he that's saved, that has this, has the witness on the inside, you see. And I tell you, the Holy Spirit bears witness with our spirit. We are of the children of God.
You see, even when we were yet sinners, Christ died, I tell you, for the ungodly. He died for us when we were sinners. When we were enemies, the Bible said, we were enemies to God, we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son. He gave His Son, even when we were enemies, no doubt, the Bible said we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much more being reconciled We shall be saved by His life. Thank God. He didn't only give us salvation. He didn't only save us that we weren't deserving of. But thank God He saved us from wrath to come.
You see, and we won't have to worry about dying and sinning and going to hell. We won't have to be worried about going through the great tribulation period. I tell you, because I have this hope. And I tell you, He sealed us. When He saved us, He's going to take us home.
And I tell you, as I was reading about this great man of faith, I tell you, the father of faith, Father Abraham, you see.
Now, the Bible said, don't call no man your father. In the New Testament, we see. And I tell you, the Lord is my father. I tell you, I had a dad. I called him Daddy or Diddy or something like that, but I tell you, that's who I called him. I didn't call him my father. He was my father, fleshly speaking, but I tell you, I called no one my heavenly father, but the one that's in heaven. You see, he is my heavenly father.
You see, but Abraham was a man of faith and he trusted the Lord. You see, when things looked up against him, When it seemed like there was no hope, He believed in hope, you see. And I'm thankful to know sometimes we might get tired and weary. Sometimes we may think that God's forgotten, but He hasn't, you see. And when it seems like there's no hope, I tell you, we have that hope on the inside.
The Bible said, who against hope believed in hope that he might become the father of many nations according to that which was spoken, so shall thy seed be. God made a covenant with Abraham and he told him, I'm going to bless your seed. I tell you, I'm going to be your God and you're going to serve me and so forth and your generation's going on down, going to serve me. He made a covenant and he showed that the token of that covenant by a circumcision of the flesh and that they would be circumcised from that day forward.
And Abraham, of course, he was up in age and he was circumcised and so was Ishmael, no doubt I believe, and Isaac, of course, these kind of things. I'll tell you from the time that God gave them this covenant, they did these things and then all that were born as a male child from, I think, eight years, eight days old or what have you, I believe it was, they circumcised them. But that was a token, you see, to show what the covenant God made with Abraham, you see.
But not only that, it goes on and tells us, explains that circumcision is the cleansing of the flesh. It's good to do, you see? So God knows what He's doing when He does. And I'm thankful for that. But Abraham, he believed the Lord. He believed God. I tell you, they were human, of course. Him and Sarah both. And they didn't have a child. She was bearing. Even at 75 years old, when Abraham left, no doubt, that land down there. I tell you, down where the Earth of Chaldees, I believe it was. And I tell you, when God told him to go down, I don't know if it was Horan or where it was, but anyhow, God was sending him out, you see, and him and Sarah went out, you see, and I believe Horan's the one that was another brother that died before that Moses left out of there, I believe it was. Terah was their dad and so forth, but Nahor was also Abraham's brother and you see that as well, you see. Horan already died. I tell you he had a son named Lot and Abraham took him and no doubt I believe raised him and he was watching out for Lot even when those kings and those different ones came down and overtook Lot down there in Sodom.
I tell you they took what he had and Abraham went and got it back and so forth. But God dealt with them and God blessed Abraham and he blessed Lot. God was merciful to Lot, you see, and his family. But you see here that But anyway, he went out at 75 years old and Sarah was barren and she was, I believe, 10 years younger than Abraham. And so, no doubt, she was 65 and she hadn't had a child, you see. But when it come time, no doubt, I believe it was maybe 13 years, if I'm not mistaken. But anyhow, when Abraham was 86 years old, Ishmael was born.
Now, he was the son of a handmaiden, you see, a concubine, no doubt, or I tell you, it was a couture, I believe, Egyptian woman, if I'm not mistaken, or Ethiopian woman, we can go back, I read that earlier, but anyhow, the Sarah got impatient, and no doubt, she's human, and she knew her time was coming, that she wasn't about to bear a child, and And so she gave her handmaid unto her husband Abraham that he would go and bear seed unto her.
And then when she realized, when she did this thing, she realized that was a huge mistake. She realized that because she began to get persecuted by this woman, you see. because she was buried and she could have children, she couldn't, and so forth.
But anyway, this is all about a fake story, and I'm leading up to this, but it's the Holy Spirit helps me because I'm not capable of doing this, but I know He wanted me to preach this today, and I'm going to endeavor to do my best to preach what does say the Word of God. You see, I'm not going to hold back. I'm not going to turn to the left or the right, but I'm going to lie in the pole line and then precept upon precept, here a little there, then I'm going to preach what the Lord gives me today, because I love you. And I love His Word, and I'm going to be obedient unto Him.
You see, but there they were. And so Ishmael was born. You see, no doubt Abraham talked to the Lord and said, there's a servant in my house and no doubt he's going to be my heir and so forth. And God said, not so. He's not going to be your heir. I told you, you're going to have a son. You see, and so no doubt, but like I said, she gave her handmaid unto him. And they had this child. He was 86 then, you see, and this was when he was 75, so that was 11 years after he left his homeland there.
And God, in other words, he was, Sarah gave her hand, like I said, but anyhow, she was what y'all brought forth Ishmael at that time. You see, but the Lord was going to bring to pass, exactly what he said. I believe it was 13 years or so, 13 or 14 years that she had Isaac after that, you see.
So, no doubt I understand people getting impatient, you see. But they had a hope and they believed. And I tell you, even Abraham, he laughed no doubt when when he got word that he was going to have a son. He's going to have seed. And no doubt Sarah did too, but she also laughed again. I believe it was, if I have this right, when she heard those angels that came unto Abraham, she overheard them say, your wife Sarah's going to have a son. I'm going to open her womb and I'm going to give you seed." And she laughed.
And because of the fact, she began to say, according to nature, I'm past this, he's past this. What do you mean? You see, she was just human, you see. But no doubt when she heard that, received that, she had this hope. And so did Abraham. And so the Lord told her, the angel said, you laughed. She said, I did not laugh. And he said, you did. And so anyhow, but the Lord blessed them. You see, just like he said he would, that he would give him a son. You see, it would be a seed of his own. You see, and he would bless and just bless his seed all throughout, you see. And so God blessed him. And the Bible said, verse 18, chapter 4, who against hope, believed in hope that he might become the father of many nations according to that which was spoken, so shall thy seed be. And being not weak in the faith, he considered not his own body now dead when he was about a hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah's womb. You see, They had faith, you see. He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strong in the faith, giving glory to God, you see. And no doubt he's human, just like we are, you see. But yet he had hope, he had faith, you see. Because God told him this. And God said, I'm going to bless you.
And I thought about that when he left that servant and that horse behind. when they went to the land of Moriah, I believe it was, and when they was going to go up on the Mount of Jehovah-Jireh, I tell you what he was going to offer up Isaac, he told the servants there, he said, we will be back, thank God. He said, he's coming, he's coming back with me. Thank God, because I gave him this son, and if I kill him, he's going to raise him from the dead. Thank God for that. And I tell you, he's something. He said, ìWeíre coming back.î And he went on, and they went up to that mountain there. And the son said, ìFather, I see the wood and I see everything here for a sacrifice, but where is the lamb? Whereís the animal? What are we going to sacrifice?î He said, ìMy son, The Lord will prepare sacrifice. And so He did. He did. And when He laid His Son down on the wood, and He was about to slay His Son, and the angel of the Lord said, Do not kill thy son. Hold back thine hand. He said, The Lord has seen. He knows your heart. You're willing to give your Son. You're willing to give up your Son. And God honored that. God honored that faith. Because he knew God was going to raise him up. I tell you, he had no doubt knowing that his son was going to get up if he did kill him, you see.
But the Lord, no doubt, He gave His Son. He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life. The Lord had to sacrifice, didn't he? And the sacrifice of all sacrifice, the Lord Jesus, you see. And that's where my hope is. My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus' blood and His righteousness. And I dare not trust the sweetest frame, but I wholly lean on Jesus' name. On Christ's holy rock I'll stand. All other ground is seeking sand. And I tell you, I have this blessed hope
He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief, but strong in the faith, giving glory to God, and being fully persuaded that what He had promised, He was able to perform. I tell you, what God has promised, He's able. I tell you today, I know I'm going to heaven. Because what God has promised, He's able to perform. You see, He's able to save me, not that He's able to keep me. And I'll tell you something, I'll tell you, and He's able to save me from the wrath to come. And I'm not worried about it. I'm not worried about it at all. They can all talk about it. They can all preach about it. And they can come on the broadcast behind me, before me, and all around me. It don't make no difference to me. I know whom I have believed. And I know that He'll do exactly what He said He'll do. And I tell you, I'm fully persuaded. I tell you, what He's promised, He's able to perform. And I know He's going to take me to heaven because of Him, His faithfulness. You see, I've been saved and sealed by the Holy Spirit of God. And therefore it was imputed to him. It was counted unto him for righteousness. You see, it's by faith. It's by faith. Hope, you see, it's not by works. It wasn't by the law that God gave him, you see.
I'll tell you, God made a covenant with Abraham, you see, 400 something years, I believe it was, before he gave the law, you see. and so forth, and I'll double-check that. But anyhow, the Lord blessed, and the law wasn't good enough, you see. The law was good from the time, and the law was to bring this to Christ. It was to let us see ourselves, you see. But the Bible said it was by faith, not by works, lest any man should boast. It's the gift of God. He said, therefore, it was counted for him for righteousness, and now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him. But for us also, to whom it shall be counted, it shall be imputed.
" If we believe on Him that raised Jesus, our Lord from the dead, who was delivered for our offenses and raised again for our justification. Listen, He was delivered for our sins and raised again for our justification. Everything He did have a reason for, a purpose. You see, He paid that price for sin. He died for sin, you see. He died on that old cross. He bore your sin and my sin. And those stripes that they beat Him with. I tell you that the stripes, we are healed. No doubt. But not only that, you see, He went to hell for us. He took the keys of death from the devil. And He got up from the dead. And you say, therefore, since He lives, we'll live also. I'm justified through the Lord Jesus Christ.
Now, therefore being justified by faith. I tell you, by this hope I have in Christ. I tell you, it's a blessed hope. It's the anchor of the soul, you see. It's true faith, real faith, you see. Even though, you know, Paul talked about this, that he had, in other words, In other words, the hope that he had. He said he wasn't ashamed of the hope that he had, you see. And knowing that the earnest expectations, you see, that was going to come, you see, he talked about, and hope. He said, I'm not ashamed. He said, in nothing I will be ashamed. He said, even, he said, if I, and he did, he bared the marks of the Lord, no doubt, but he said, even by death or life, I'm not going to be ashamed for serving the Lord and for the hope that I have. of Him, you see. And we will not either. We that are saved, as far as our salvation is concerned.
And we ought to fight this fight for Him. And we ought to be willing to bear these marks ourselves. And to do the will of God, you see, for precious souls sake. And to glorify Him. Therefore, being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. It's by the Lord Jesus Christ. That's who He used. That is the door from earth to heaven. That is that one, that one between God and man. That man being Christ Jesus, you see, He is that way, the truth and alive. No one come to the Father but by Him, by whom also we have access. By faith, by Jesus, we have access by faith, hope. Faith and hope, you see, it's a blessed hope. And to this grace wherein we stand and we will rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.
Thank God we have this blessed hope today and we can rejoice in it, thank God. And we can sing about it, thank God, this morning. Shout about it when the Holy Spirit gives a shout about it, you see, because the fact we know it's true. We got this blessed hope on the inside. And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also, knowing that tribulations work in patience. I tell you, tribulation works in patience. Patience experiences and experience hope. Listen, we have this hope, you see.
And I tell you, Abraham and Sarah had this hope. You see, who against hope believed in hope? You see, there was things that it was against, according to nature, it wouldn't happen and so forth. I tell you that this hope gives us patience because we're waiting for it. We know it's coming. We may not know when it's coming. We may not know when He's coming, but we know He is coming, you see.
And I tell you, the Lord wants you to know these things and rejoice in this. I tell you about this hope that we have, you see. It's a blessed hope. I tell you, it's a hope that goes on to say in verse 5, "...and hope, make it not a shame, because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given us. Hope, make it not a shame."
Thank God, I'm not ashamed to call Him my Savior. I'm not ashamed to live for Him. And I won't be ashamed when He comes, and I won't be ashamed because people say He's not real and it's not true. No doubt, He's going to happen. We're not going to be ashamed. And I'm not ashamed today to whom I serve and the promises He's made while I'm here. I'm not ashamed of it. The souls He's going to save. And those that we labored over and prayed over, I tell you, they're going to get in because of faith.
You see, this blessed hope that we have. And today, my friend, today you're not saved. You don't have this hope. I tell you, but when you get saved, I tell you, He'll give you this hope. You've got to believe on Him. Now that's faith. No one gets saved outside of faith. Nobody gets saved outside of believing on the Lord Jesus Christ and knowing He's able and He'll forgive you of all your sin and give you something and put His Holy Spirit in you.
Well, you'll never be the same. I tell you, I don't want you to get comfortable about the message of salvation and say, well, I know about that, but I'll just let it go on I tell you, I wanted to stir you this morning. I want you to be stirred. I tell you, you may not make it back. We may not make it till tomorrow. We don't know. But one thing you can know. You can know where you're going to spend eternity.
Because we that are saved, the Bible said, we've got the witness on the inside. And knowing that, the Bible said, we know we pass from death unto life because He gives us love for the brethren. And we love Him. We love the fellowship of the Holy Spirit. You see, And so we have this because we know we got this hope in us. You see, and he said, when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
I tell you, He died for us when we were sinners, didn't know Him. For scarcely for a righteous man would one die for a good man. Some would even dare to die. I tell you, you wouldn't even find a man to die for somebody that was good. You see, but Christ died for all. All were sinners. He said, All have sinned and come short of the glory of God. None righteous, no, not one. All we have like sheep gone astray. We all have. We're born in sin. We're born sinners. We need a Savior. We need forgiveness of sin. We need help. We need this blessed hope to be in us, you see.
And we'll have the Holy Ghost shed abroad in our hearts. That's what you've got to have to get to heaven. But know that it's what comforts you. That's what guides you. That's what courages you, you see.
But in time past, We didn't have Christ. And we were on our way to hell. But thank God, Christ died for us. And I tell you, the Bible says verse 8. But God commended His love toward us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. You see, when we were sinning, that's when He died for us. He died for us because He loved us. He knew we needed saving. And I tell you, the Lord loved us. He gave His Son. Just like Abraham was willing to slay his son, Because He knew that there was going to be a resurrection going to take place. You see?
And I tell you, when we got saved, I tell you, He made us brand new. There's going to be a resurrection going to take place. It's already happened in my soul. He's already resurrected that. But one day, there's going to be a resurrection of my body. I tell you, when He comes back. when He comes back after His church. You see, and I know these things. This is a hope that I have. It's something I don't second guess. I know it's true and I know it's alive and I want to get alive in you. I want you to, that Christ would be born in you. I want you to be born again, you see. Not of corruptible seed, not the way of a fleshly birth, but incorruptible seed by a spiritual birth. You see, that's the only way from earth to heaven.
You see, here for it, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son. Much more. See, listen, He already saved us by the death of His Son. If you'll trust in Him and submit yourself and come and bring your broken heart and contrite spirit, I tell you, you will be saved and reconciled to God. You see, and all that much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. I tell you, thank God, I tell you, there's a spiritual resurrection of the soul and there's a fleshly resurrection of the body. It's going to happen. A spiritual body that's going to be given. And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
I tell you, do you have joy today? Do you know what joy is really about? Do you really know what peace is all about? The Bible said we also joy in God. We have joy in Him. We have peace in Him. Especially when you're living and doing His will. I tell you, if you don't, you'll lose your joy. You'll lose your fellowship. And I tell you, it'll grieve you to death. It'll kill you. I tell you, the devil will kill you. You must get in the will of God. If you really say and polite your heart, He'll forgive you. You just got to believe Him when you come. Believe the Lord. He that cometh to God must believe that He is and rewardeth them that daily seek Him.
You see, therefore, as by one man sin in the world, and death by sin, so death passed upon all men, for they all have sin. For unto the law sin was in the world, but the sin is not imputed where there is no law. I see law, for until the law, sin was in the world. You see, but when the law came and let them see that was sin, that was wrong. You see, nevertheless, death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come. But not as the offense, so also is the free gift. You see, for if through the sin or offense of one be dead, much more the grace of God and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. You see, the gift of grace will be given unto you, I tell you, if you'll trust Him and believe on Him and part your broken heart and contrite spirit. You see, I tell you, the gift of grace, it's a gift, it's not a work. lest any man should boast." It is a gift of God. You see, and so it's a wonderful gift, it's a wonderful way, only life to live. And I tell you, you'll be totally satisfied.
He said, "...and not as it was by one that sin, so is the gift. For judgment was by one to condemnation." That's what the law is. It brought forth judgment and punishment. Condemnation, you see. That's what he also described as, no doubt, Sarah, you see. And God gave them a promise seed. Isaac, you see. And that was the seed of faith, you see. And then there was also the seed no doubt, of the flesh, of the bondwoman. You see, bondage, talking about the law being brought under punishment and judgment, and that was like through Isaac, you see. But the promise seed came through Isaac and on down, and the Lord Jesus came out, you see, of the seed there. And God blessed, just like He told Abraham that He would, that He would bless His seed all the way down.
I tell you, thank God, I'm thankful that I have the seed remaining in me. I'm talking about the Lord. His presence in me and I never will be lost. I never will lose my soul and my salvation because He saved me for eternity. By one man's offense, death reigned by one. That's by one man's sin, you see? And death reigned by one person. Everyone born after that had the sentence of death. Much more, they which receive the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by Jesus Christ. And I'm going to close here in just a moment.
Therefore, as by the offense of one, judgment came upon all men to condemnation. You see, that's the law. That's because of sin, you see. And because of Adam, we all die. You see, even so, by the righteousness of one, the free gift of grace, the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. And that is faith, being justified by faith. That is hope, you see. In Christ, you see, you've got to have that. If any man or person be in Christ, they are a new creature. All things pass away. Behold, all things become new when you get saved. You see, and I'm thankful to know about this today.
And I'll tell you, there's salvation. There is the gift of grace that's for your taking. And won't you take it? Won't you receive it? Won't you humble yourself and pray for it? You see, don't bargain on another day. Don't live in jeopardy every hour. of losing your soul. Trust Christ. It's free and it's simple and it's very easy to do if you really want it above everything. That's what hinders it. That's what slows it down. It's you. You're not wanting it above everything. You're not really being broke and sorry that you sinned against God. That's what is the hold up. It's not the Lord. because He already paid the price and gave this gift of grace.
You see, in the Bible it says, A free gift came upon all men unto justification of life, for by one man's disobedience many were made sinners. So by the obedience of one shall be made righteous. Moreover, the law entered that the sin or offense by a bound In other words, it would come to be seemingly sinful. The law would show that that is sin. He said, but where sin abounded, grace did much more abound. Thank God. He forgives all matters sin. We talked about that already. And that as sin had reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord. We're talking about eternal life today. We're talking about the blessed hope.
Today, you see, I woke up and I was singing this song, Whispering Hope. And I tell you, I was praying what the Lord to have us to say today. And the scripture came to me about the hope that's being shed upon our hearts. And I was just talking to the Lord, and I said, well, Lord, I'll tell you, if it's your will, I know you'll make it known. And if I flip over there, and I'll see it, what have you, but I know the Lord, how He speaks. And I just turned over one time, and lo and behold, there it laid right there before my eyes. And then He began to show me some other things.
And I'll tell you what another thing that He showed me first before that, before I got into the book of Romans, and I know He wants me to share that with you as well. But it's the Scriptures in Proverbs 13 where it talks about hope here. It talked about, let's just get over here where I can see it clearly. And it talked about here that hope deferred. You know, hope that is deferred, hope that is delayed. You see, a hope that you don't see of us yet. It makes the heart sick. I tell you, it makes the heart sick, you see. And no doubt, sometimes if we're not careful, we'll let doubt get in, you see. And it'll get to us, it'll work on us, you see. But we're to just keep this hope and know, and by faith, trust God, Everything that He's promised, you see.
But He said, hope deferred maketh the heart sick. But when the desire cometh, it's a tree of life. And I tell you folks today, I tell you, when you feel like maybe all hope's gone, maybe you feel that it's too late for you and that you'll never get saved or you'll never get right or what have you. I tell you, well, it'll make your heart sick and it'll destroy you, you see. But when the desire cometh, it's a tree of life, you see, and the Lord will Save you if you'll trust Him and believe in Him, you see, and point your heart to Him. I tell you, He's there. He's waiting on you to give it all up. And He's waiting on others to get themselves straightened out too.
I tell you, I think things get better in the family when all the family gets in the house of God. I'm talking about daddy. I'm talking about mama. I'm talking about all of them. I'm talking about sister, brother. I tell you, get them all in the house of God and I promise you things will get better. Get them in where God's sending forth His Word, where His Holy Spirit's moving. And I tell you, things will get better all around for the whole family. Whatever they got to do, make provision and get it done and get in the house of God. You see, that's from the Lord. You mark that down, put that down in your notebook. I'm not being ugly, I'm being serious. I tell you, get in the house of God.
But hope deferred, making the heart sick. But when desire cometh, it's a tree of life. I tell you, I can remember my hope was, I mean, I was just broken. I tell you, I needed help, didn't know, I didn't have no hope. I tell you, I didn't see any hope, you see, and so therefore, by heart, I tell you, I was sick, and I tell you, I was lost, and I was on my way to hell, I tell you, but I'm so thankful that when I heard the gospel, when I heard, I tell you, by faith, faith come by hearing, hearing by the Word, I tell you, when I got saved, it's like a tree of life, it is a tree of life, and He gave me life, and I begin to walk in it, and it's a life. you've seen, and I'm thankful to know that's today. I tell you that I can trust the Lord. I've got this blessed hope, and I tell you my heart's not sick no more. I tell you, I'm talking about the heart of my soul. I tell you He's been made new, and I tell you it's a tree of life. The Holy Ghost lives there, and He'll live there with you as well.
And I tell you, I remember this scripture the Lord showed me back years ago. I don't know, I guess it's been, I don't know, maybe 30 years ago. I tell you, I had a desire and God was speaking to me about preaching on the radio. And I began to tell the Lord, I can't afford that. I just don't have the money. I don't have it to do. And I tell you, the Lord was speaking to me. My heart was heavy about it. And I tell you, to sort of speak my heart, I tell you, my hope was deferred, you see. And I didn't see any kind of way, you see. But the Lord showed me this, that hope deferred makes the heart sick. But when the desire comes, it's the tree of life.
And I can remember when I prayed about this, and then I had a customer stop by and said, well, you know, we're in this, a hotel down the street. And I tell you, it's one of the oldest ones down in Atlanta. And I forgot the name of it. Maybe the Lord bring it to my mind. But it was an old place. And they redone it and so forth. And he said, we would love for you to come. He said, I've been buying this fruit and taking it to them. But he said, just give us a price. We need about 200 pieces or so of fruit. And I want you to come in and set up in our break room and so forth. And we talked about a price. Lo and behold, it was enough to pay for a 30-minute broadcast. I tell you, that God wanted me to get on. You see, and that Lord showed me. And I tell you, when it came, I tell you, it was a tree of life to me. I tell you, it enlightened me on the inside. It gave me hope and faith to believe and to press on, you see.
And I tell you, but this Scripture always meant a lot to me ever since then. But I thought about that also. No doubt when Sarah and Abraham, you see, there it was. And they had that hope. They had faith. But it didn't come right away. I tell you, it didn't come right away. But when it did, I tell you what a joy it was. And I tell you, our time of rejoicing. That's what he's talking about. We rejoice with gladness and with song with this hope that we have. Because the love of God has been shed abroad in our heart. by the Holy Ghost. We have hope today. We have hope, sinner friend. You have hope to get in and get saved. I tell you, but don't send away your day of grace. Come now while you can come. You see, and I tell you, may this be the day. I mean, you start praying today, seeking, but listen, don't try to hold on to anything.
I'll tell you, I'll tell you by experience. And I'll tell you, I know what I'm talking about today. I'm nothing. And I'll tell you, when I don't know something, I'll tell you. And there's a lot that I don't know.
I'll tell you, but one thing I do know. I know that He's alive. And I know that there's nothing in this world that will satisfy you. I know that 100%. Don't matter what you do and what kind of pleasure you get out of it. It does not satisfy you. It does not make you content. It just excites you for a little while. But after a while, it gets a little dimmer, don't it? It gets a little bit dimmer. The more you do it, and there you go. And there you sit, and you lose hope. You don't have any hope.
I tell you, but when you get saved, it's nothing like it. And once you come today, and I tell you, don't waste your life like my brother was talking about. Don't waste your life. You see, like he said, be that sweet almond tree. Not the bitter tree of the almond. Not the bitter almond tree, but the sweet almond tree. You see, that you may have A whore head like it talked about, like a grey head, a person of wisdom. You see, when you see a person elderly, they got the grey and the blonde with some. I say that, but white, but anyhow.
But you know, they ought to have some wisdom about them. But today, I'm like, where are they at? I mean, some, I tell you, you hear them and it's just terrible. But thank God there are some. But get saved while you can. Come in the days of thy youth. Like you talked about in the book of Ecclesiastes, come now. Don't waste your time.
Like he said, we're going to give an account, even when you get saved, God forgives you. I tell you, but if you abuse your body, you do things you oughtn't be doing, I tell you, these things will affect you. The Bible talked about what a man soweth, so the same he shall also reap. And listen, I tell you, these things can come about just like you said. People smoke, they start young, tobacco, all these kind of things. They got tongue cancer, they got throat cancer, lung cancer, all kinds of stuff happen and different other problems too. Sexual types of diseases, so forth. But I'm telling you, come now while you can come. You see, because you can come anytime that you think you will.
But I want you to bow your head. The altar is open, so feel free to come to the altar as we close out in a word of prayer here. And I'm thankful for what the Lord gave us. I tell you, I always want to be better and stronger and stronger. And I'm thankful for what the Lord is giving. And I know He is giving it. And I know it's not going to come back for you. So I rejoice in that fact that God is not going to suffer His Word. You see now, you can let it fall to the ground. But it will come back to the ground to you again. I tell you, but it ought not to. And I tell you, you'll pay for that as well if it has to continue to come around and around. I want to listen the first time. I want to take heed the first time. And I tell you, I'm not all I need to be and I'm full of holes and I'll cry woe is me today. I tell you, I want to preach the precious Word of God, and I want to speak what He gives me today. You see, but go and read that. All that was very good to me today. There's so much, and we'll see what the Lord gives us tonight. But I'm thankful for Abraham, and I'm thankful for the man of God and the man of faith. And there's so much to be learned through there and for us to study.
But we're going to go ahead and close out. And like I said, the altar's open, so don't let the devil beat you out. Don't let the devil cause you to doubt. The Lord is telling you there's hope. The Lord is speaking today. There's hope. It's not too late. I tell you, that's the lie of the hell. That's the devil, you see. Come and call on him while you can and humble yourself before God. Don't let nothing hinder you. Get in the house of God every time. And I tell you, the Lord will help you. There's hope. Thank God. He saves the lost. He saves sinners. And He also redeems His people. In other words, He also reconciles them. In other words, He restores what I'm trying to say, those that are saved. And thank God there's hope for you today. And just call on the Lord now as we're praying.
And Lord, help us today. We know that all power comes from God. And we're praying God's hand would be here and there to be strong upon each and every one and meet every need that's here.
So we're going to go ahead and close out this time. Brother, go ahead and close us out in prayer. We'll let everybody get to do what you need to do. But I appreciate you coming and your faithfulness by getting here and your understanding. I know that everybody that's saved wants to do the will of God. And I tell you, I know it's in your heart and be here every time you can and you're able.
But I'm just thankful what the Lord's doing and we're gonna do this together. I tell you, be faithful or we can't do it together. But God's going to do His work. But I tell you, God has put something on all of us to do. We're all obligated to do the will of God, and it's a wonderful thing to do.
I tell you, but we all have a purpose, and it's all important. As we started out speaking of today, all is important. So let's get busy about our Father's business, and let's thwart the lifeline and get them in before it's too late.
