There Must Be Something More
Series Wisdom for Life's Journey
There Must Be Something More. Ecclesiastes 6:7–12, where Solomon reflects on the emptiness of human striving and the limitations of life without a deeper purpose. In these verses, he observes that no matter how hard people work or how much they accumulate, they ultimately remain unsatisfied and unable to control their destiny. Solomon points out that the pursuit of wealth, pleasure, and achievement often leads to frustration, as these things cannot bring lasting fulfillment. He reminds us that our lives are short and uncertain, and our desires often remain unfulfilled. True meaning and peace, Solomon suggests, can only be found in recognizing that our lives are in God's hands, and that a relationship with Him provides the only true source of satisfaction. This passage challenges us to seek something more than the temporary pleasures and accomplishments of this world. It encourages parents to teach their children that life's true meaning and joy come not from what we accumulate or achieve, but from knowing God and trusting His plan for our lives. Ultimately, we are reminded that there is more to life than what we can see or possess—our fulfillment comes through a deeper connection with God.
