It's the 25th. It's Thursday
evening. And I've entitled this video
tonight... I've entitled this video, Sharing
Praise. Mark wanted to have a service
tonight. So... When Mark wants to have
a service, we have a service. Sometimes it takes us a little
off guard, but anyway... Tonight we're going to sing a
total of Three psalms and three hymns. A total of six selections. I'm going to move the camera. The first one we're going to
do tonight is 116A in the Psalter. We use this... Oops, that's the
wrong one. We use this Psalter right here. 116A. It's taken from Psalm 116, 1-9. I love the Lord because He heard
my supplicating plea. I, while I live, will call on
Him who bowed His ear to me. The cords of death on every side
encompass me around. The sorrows of the grave took
hold I grieve in trouble found. Then called I on Jehovah's name,
And unto Him did say, Deliver thou my soul, O Lord, I do Thee
humbly pray. The Lord is gracious and is just,
Our God will mercy show. The Lord preserves a meek heart
He saved me when brought low O Thou, my soul, do Thou return
To Thine own quiet rest Because the Lord has felt in grace His
bounty has be blessed Thou hast released my suffering Okay, out
of the old school hymnal we're going to sing number 368. Twilight
is stealing. Why light is dimming over the
sea, Shadows are falling dark on the lea, Born on night when
voices of yore, Come from the far off shore, Far away beyond
the starless skies, Where the love light never never dies,
Gleameth the mansion filled with delight Sweet happy home so bright
Voices of loved ones, songs of the past Still linger round me
while life shall last Lonely I wonder, sadly I moan Seeking
that far off home Come in the twilight, come, come to me bringing
some message over the sea sharing my pathway while here i roam
seeking that far off home far away beyond the starless skies
where the love light never never dies gleameth the mansion filled
with delight sweet happy home Okay, 366. Dwelling in Beulah Land. Is that
right? 366. Far away the noise of strife
upon my ear is falling. Then I know the sins of earth
beset on every head. Doubt and fear and things of
birth in vain to me are calling. None of these shall move me from
good land. I'm living on the mountain underneath
a cloudless sky. I'm drinking at the fountain
that never shall dry. Oh yes, I'm thirsty. on the manna
from a bountiful supply, for I am dwelling in Beulah land. Far below the storms of doubt
upon the world is beating, signs of men in battle on the enemy
withstand. Safe am I within the castle of
God's word retreating, Nothing there can reach me, tis Beulah
Land. Let the stormy breezes blow,
their cry cannot alarm me. I am safely sheltered here, protected
by God's hand. Here the sun is always shining,
here there's naught can harm me. I am safe forever in Beulah
Land. Viewing here the works of God,
I sink in contemplation. Hearing now His blessed voice,
I see the way He planned. Dwelling in the Spirit here,
I learn a full salvation. Gladly will I tarry in new land. I'm living on the mountain. Underneath the cloudless sky,
praise God, I'm drinking at the fountain that never shall run
dry. So yes, I'm feasting on the manna
from a bountiful supply, for I am dwelling in Beulah Land. OK, the next one we're going
to sing is 48B in the Psalter. 48B. Mark, you want to start that?
Yeah. In our God's city we have seen
what we before were told. That God, who is the Lord and
Host, will ever in uphold. That God, who is the Lord and
Host, will ever in uphold. Within thy courts, O God, we
fall upon thy gracious ways. O God, according to thy name,
through all the earth's I praise. O God, according to Thy Name,
through all the earth Thy praise. Thy hand is full of righteousness,
let Zion's joy be great. Let Judas' daughters joyfully
Thy judgment celebrate. Let Judas' daughters joyfully
Thy judgment celebrate. Encompass Zion, count her towers,
and mark her bulwarks well. Consider ye her palaces, to sense
her story tell. Consider ye her palaces, to sense
her story tell. Because this God will be our
God to all eternity. 381 in the old school hymnal. This
is what we're singing out of the old school hymnal on the
hymns. 381. You want to start that one? Yeah. I'm but a stranger here. Heaven is my home. Earth is a desert here. Heaven is my home. Danger and sorrow stand round
me on every hand. Heaven is my fatherland. Heaven is my home. What though the tempest veer,
Heaven is my home. Short is my pilgrimage, Heaven
is my home. Times cold and wintry blast,
Shall soon be overpassed, I shall reach home at last, Heaven is
my home. I shall be glorified, heaven
is my home. There are the good and blessed,
those I love most and best. There too I soon shall rest,
heaven is my home. Okay, the last one we're going
to sing is 36B, How the Psalter. 36B. This is taken from Psalm 36,
5 through 12. Thy mercy, Lord, extends to heaven. Thy faithfulness, the sky. Thy justice is like mounts of
God. Thy judgments testify. Lord, Thou preservest man and
beast. How precious, God, Thy grace. Beneath the shadow of thy wings,
this observed trust shall blaze. They, with the bounty of thy
health, shall be well satisfied. From rivers full of thy delights,
thou dost their drink provide. Because the fountain filled with
life is only found with thee, And in that purest light of Thy,
we clearly life shall see. To them that know Thee evermore,
Thy loving kindness show. And still on men of a bright
heart, Thy righteousness bestow. Let not the foot of pride crush
me, nor wicked hand detain. Their evil doers fall for sound,
they cannot rise again. Well, I'm glad that you could
join us this evening for this little midweek, I guess it's
more than midweek, we're going into Friday, we're getting ready
to go into the weekend, aren't we? But I'm glad you could join
us for this service tonight. And I've been thinking today
about a lot of things that have been on my mind. I've been thinking
about how that so many people view God's kingdom as being one of
an earthly kingdom. And Christ said, My kingdom is
not of this world. He said, if my kingdom was of
this world, I would tell my subjects to fight. And we have all these
people talking about how God's going to set up an earthly kingdom. And you know, God's kingdom is an
eternal kingdom. You know God is seated on his
throne right now as we speak. He is ruling and reigning from
heaven right now. I want to look at a few passages
tonight. John 18.36 If you have your Bibles
you might want to look at these passages. John 18.36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is
not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world,
then would my servants fight that I should not be delivered
to the Jews. But now my kingdom is not from
hence. Well, if we look in the eighth
chapter of John, 23rd verse, And he said unto them, this is
Christ speaking again, ye are from beneath, I am from above.
Ye are of this world, I am not of this world. And then, let's look down in
1 Corinthians 2.6. How be it we speak wisdom among
them that are perfect, yea, not the wisdom of this world, nor
of the princes of this world, that come to naught. and first corinthians 120 where
is the wise where is the scribe where is the disputer of this
world hath not god made foolish the wisdom of this world and then john 15 19 if you were
of the world the world would love his own but because you're
not of the world but i've chosen you out of the world therefore
the world hateth you John 17.14 I have given them
thy word, and the world hath hated them, because they were
not of the world, even as I am not of the world. John 12.31 Now as the judgment
of this world, now shall the princes of this world be cast
out. You know, there's a lot of people
that are looking for God to set up an earthly kingdom, but Christ
said His kingdom is not of this world. In fact, 1 John 2.15 says,
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world.
If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in
him. First John 5, 4, for whosoever
is born of God overcometh the world, and this is the victory
that overcometh the world, even our faith. John 14, 30, Hereafter I will
not talk much with you, for the prince of this world cometh and
hath nothing in me. John 17, verse 16, he's praying
to his Heavenly Father and he said, they are not of the world
even as I am not of the world. Well, you know, there's many,
many passages that talk about Christ's eternal kingdom, His
heavenly kingdom. His kingdom is not of this earth,
you know. And, you know, a lot of people want
to try to only think about You know, the nations of this world
and the kingdoms of this world. It says in another script, the
kingdoms of this world would become the kingdoms of Christ. You know? The prince of this
world is judged, according to John 1611. The prince of this
world is already judged. You know? So I think we have to have a
proper understanding of how God and how Jesus Christ views this
world. James 2.5 Harken, my beloved
brethren, hath not God chosen the poor of this world, rich
in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them
that love him? Romans 12 to be not conformed to this world but
be transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may prove
what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God visions 121 says far above all
principality and power and might and dominion every name that
is named not only in this world but also in that which is to
come 2 Corinthians 4.4 In whom the God
of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not,
lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the
image of God, should shine unto them. Colossians 2.20 Wherefore, if
ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why,
as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances? First Timothy 6-7, we brought
nothing into this world and it's certain we can carry nothing
out. You know, there's a lot of things
that go on in this world that's not going to go on in heaven.
There's not going to be any marriage in heaven. There's not going
to be any There's not going to be any sorrow in heaven. There's not
going to be any tears in heaven. The world is full of sorrow and
trouble and travail. Remember what he said about Demas.
Paul said about Demas. It says, Demas has forsaken me,
having loved this present world, and has departed unto Thessalonica,
Cretans to Galatia, Titus, and to Elmashia. 2 Timothy 4 and
10. A lot of people are in love with
this present world. John 16.33 These things have
I spoken to you, that in ye might have peace in the world, ye shall
have tribulation. But be of good cheer, I have
overcome the world. Galatians 1.4 Who gave himself
for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world,
according to the will of God and our Father? 1 Corinthians 3.19 For the wisdom
of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written,
He taketh the wise in their own craftiness. Well, it's kind of what's been
on my mind today. You have all these people talking
about the nations and how God is going
to set up an earthly kingdom here. They have all of these things
all figured out in their mind. The Bible tells us that there
are certain things that we will never understand. We see through
a glass darkly. I'd recommend you read Romans
11 again. Oh, both the riches and the knowledge
of God, His ways are past finding out. So do we have a final selection? 183 183 183 we'll sing that as the final
song tonight 183 switch the camera back around to the other side
183. This is my father's world, and
to my ears all nature sings and round me rings the music of the
years. This is my father's world, I
rest me in the thought Of rocks and trees, of skies and seas,
Here stand the wonders wrought. This is my Father's world, The
birds their carols raise, The morning light, the lily white,
Declare their Maker's praise. This is my Father's world, He
shines in all that's fair In the rustling grass I hear Him
pass He speaks to me everywhere This is my Father's world Oh,
let me dare forget That though the wrong seems all so strong
God is the ruler yet This is my Father's world I don't know if I totally agree
with that because Christ said it is finished. He's already
won the victory, you know? And so, all's we are doing is
we're just waiting for the final proclamation and joining Him
in the marriage supper of the Lamb in the New Jerusalem. May
the good Lord be with you tonight. It's my prayer. God bless.
