The Trouble of Strong Belief
Series Judges
Donald Miller in his book, "Blue Like Jazz" writes: "The trouble with deep belief is that it costs something. And there is something inside me, some selfish beast of a subtle thing, that doesn't like the truth at all because it carries responsibility, and if I actually believe these things I have to do something about them…"
We often think that the sin of indifference is merely a little flaw in our life. (No big deal, really.) So it takes a passage like Judges 19 to make us feel how horrible a sin it actually is.
