The Heir of All Things

The Writer of Hebrews, having pronounced Jesus Christ as the fullness of God's revelation, now begins to offer support for his claim. He begins by declaring that Jesus is the "heir of all things." This is Old Testament inheritance language. In the Old Testament the nation of Israel was called God's son. But this nation failed to live up to the standards of a son of God. However, Jesus Christ, because of His life of perfect obedience, proved He was worthy to be granted dominion over all.
