Oh, for the wonderful love He has promised, promised for you and for me. Though we have sinned, He has mercy and pardon. Pardon for you and for me
Come home, come home You who are weary, come home Earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling. Calling, O sinner, come home.
Softly and tenderly, He's calling. I know you felt Him tugging at your heart's door. You that's not saved, I know you felt that. I know the Spirit of the Lord has been here and I've seen Him dealing with your heart. I can see it in your faces and I know the Lord has been beckoning you to come. And you sit there and you're scared, you're afraid, or you'll have good intentions for another day. I tell you, but the only way to be happy, true happiness and true joy and peace is when you come to know Him. as your Lord and Savior. I tell you, there's nothing like that, nothing in this world that can be compared with it. And I want you to come when He bid you come. I want you to call on Him tonight. Call on Him out of all the depth of your being. I mean, just pour it all out, you see. and pray to the Lord.
I can remember when I called on the Lord. I can remember when I got saved. And I tell you, when the Lord dealt with me and He began to teach me how to pray, He began to teach me and speak to my heart. I tell you, it's a thing that we understand that we're born as a babe. We're born as a little babe in Christ and we got to desire the sincere milk of the word that we may grow. Thereby, a child of God has got to desire the word of God, desire the milk of the word. And before you can eat the meat of the word, you got to have and drink the milk of the word. And I tell you, those that are saved, I tell you, all of us do, but especially the babes, you got to desire that milk and drink that milk and get into the house of the Lord and stay in prayer, steady. I tell you, you can't do it without that. You can't make it without it. I tell you, none of us can make it in doing God's will if we're not doing the Lord's will and trying to put Him first in our life.
Be in the house of the Lord every time the doors open if we're able. I know sometimes we're not, sometimes we're sick, and different things can happen, and sometimes we're hindered. But I'm thankful that the Lord knows. But we need to do all we can to be in the house of the Lord. And I tell you, let God deal with you and speak to you. And I know the Lord will encourage you and use you in a greater way. You will grow in grace and the knowledge of the truth. You see, we that are saved, I know that the Lord helps us all. He speaks to us. I tell you, we just got to keep that hunger and desire. I tell you that God would feed us and give us understanding. We got to want the understanding and knowledge of His Word.
You see, I tell you, don't seek the way of the flesh, but seek the Lord. And I tell you, that's what satisfies you right here is this Bible, this Word, His presence. I tell you, you will not be satisfied with the things of the world. It brings pleasure. It does. I tell you, there's times when you can go and do things and you find a little uh excitement in it and things like that and uh but when you do God's will I tell you that's when you're satisfied and I tell you that's when it gets really good to you when you're putting the Lord first in your life.
But let's be praying for those that's not saved as of yet. I'm looking for them to get saved real soon. Let's pray like we just did but continue to pray for all the the souls, especially those that the devil is tormenting and working on. I tell you, the devil is strong. He knows right where we all live, and he works on us in any way and every way he can. And I tell you, he gets the upper hand when we don't listen or we're doing things we know that we ought not to be doing. I tell you, and those kind of things, I tell you, you got to get out of and get away from.
I tell you, get into the Word of God. I tell you, saved and unsaved. I tell you, we that are saved, we have to get in the Word of God and eat it, let God speak to us. But I tell you, don't hurt you if you're not saved as of yet to get in and read the Bible. I tell you, do your heart good. You need to, you need to seek God. I tell you, that's part of seeking Him for salvation is get in the Word of God, read it, study it, and pray and ask God to have mercy and save you and give you eternal life.
You see, you gotta die to the soul flesh You gotta say no to flesh, and you gotta continue to call on God, and to continue to push the flesh aside, because the flesh will get in the way. I tell you, it's a hindrance. You see, and the devil uses anything and everything on us to keep us from calling on the Lord and getting real with God. You see, that's exactly what he does. Tells us that you won't be able to do this, you won't be able to do that. I tell you, he's doing all he can. Derive, steal, kill, and destroy. I tell you, He's hindering some from coming and being here at the house of the Lord. I tell you, He's using others to hinder others and the things they do and say and so forth.
And I tell you, but let's be in much prayer about this as well. I tell you, people ought to know and follow their heart. When they know God's speaking to them, they feel His presence. They know. I tell you, even some that's not even saved, they know they're hearing truth. They feel it. in their heart, and they need to go where they can feel that, where God's speaking through their heart, you see. And I tell you, don't be distracted by others and what they say, but get in the house of the Lord.
I'm just going to read to you a little bit about King Solomon tonight. I feel like we need to turn over there to 1 Kings, and we can go over there and we'll maybe read this and see how the Holy Spirit leads us tonight. I tell you, like I said before, I don't want to say no more, no less than you have me to. And I tell you, I want to be obedient to Him. He knows what you need. I don't. I tell you, none of us know, I tell you, but the Lord knows exactly what we all need. And so I'll find what I'm talking about, I believe it's chapter 9. So I'm looking for something else, just bear with me just a moment too.
We'll turn over to chapter three here in a moment as well. It talked about here in verse one, it said, and it came to pass when Solomon had finished the building of the house of the Lord and the king's house and all Solomon's desire, which he was pleased to do. He finished the building there and talked about the building of the house of the Lord and Solomon's house and said that the Lord appeared unto Solomon the second time as he had appeared unto him at Gibeon. In the chapter 3 we can go over there when he first appeared to him at Gibeon. We talked a little bit about that already this, early at the starting of the service. But I want to, we'll turn over just a moment. He said, And the Lord said unto him, I have heard thy prayer, thy supplication that thou hast made before me. I have hallowed this house which thou hast built to put my name there forever. And my eyes and my heart shall be there perpetually, continuously.
I tell you, you do what you're supposed to do. I will come and I will be there. I'll fill the house. I will hear your prayer. He said, you're to look unto this place. You're to pray unto me, you see. And that's what he said.
And if you walk before me as David, our father, walked in an integrity of the heart, of his heart, and uprightness. You see, David walked with integrity of heart. And he also was a man that was upright. You see, he was a man after God's own heart. He made his mistakes too. And I tell you, he does some horrible things. I tell you, but for the most part, David's heart was with God. He wanted to please God. He loved God. I tell you, everything he did, he wanted to please the Lord. He's a man after God's own heart. God loved him.
But David made mistakes like we all can. We get weak and fall. You see, there come a time when the kings go forth to battle and David didn't go out at that time. He got looking out and saw a man's wife bathing and he called for it. He committed adultery. And then he ended up committing murder. A lot of things happened, you see. But God forgave David. David called on the Lord. David was sincere with God. And I tell you, he really prayed and God heard him, you see. But the judgment came. He got Bathsheba pregnant. She lost a child. I tell you, a lot of things happened. Like we said before, one of his sons raped his half-sister. and so forth. And then her brother killed him. And then Absalom began to run his daddy out, King David out, try to kill him as well. A lot of things happened because David fell to sin.
And we'll see too, also Solomon fell. And Solomon, excuse me, fell. And he had many strange wives. And we'll read about that too. The Lord will turn over there as well, but he followed a lot of different things. You see, but God already spoke unto Solomon. This was the second time, you see, that God was speaking to him that you're to love me. You see, you're to otherwise be obedient and do what I've called you to do.
But anyway, we'll see what the Lord gives it to us tonight. But in chapter three, he talks about the first time when God appeared unto Solomon in a dream. And I know I'm doing maybe this a little backwards, but this is how we're going to do it tonight. But this is why I basically got distracted. Anyhow, but y'all pray for me because I've come to do the Lord's will tonight. That's all. I just want to be what God wants me to be and feed the people, God's people. I tell you, be of other words obedient and listen to His voice, that I might be a light and help to you.
But the Bible said in verse 5, in Gibeon, the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream by night, and God said, ask what I shall give thee. And Solomon said, Thou hast shown unto thy servant David my father great mercy, according as he walked before thee in truth, and in righteousness, and uprightness of heart with thee. He knew his dad walked upright before God, you see, and he was righteous, you see, and he walked before the Lord with truth. You see, he was truthful. You see, and the Bible says, Thou has kept for him this great kindness that Thou has given him a son to sit on his throne as it is this day. And now, O Lord my God, Thou has made Thy servant king instead of David my father. And I am but a little child and I know not how to go out or He said, I don't know how to do it. I cannot do it. It's above me. He said, I'm just like a child. He said, thy servant is in the midst of thy people which thou has chosen a great people that cannot be numbered nor counted for multitude.
Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart, to judge thy people, that I may discern between the good and the bad." He said, I want to have discern between the good and the bad. I want to know. I want to have wisdom. I want to have understanding that I might lead thy people in the right direction. I wouldn't lead them astray, but I would lead them in the way that unto you and to love you. This is bigger than me. I can't do this. He said, I am as a child for whom is able to judge this Thou so great a people." Who's able to do this?
And the speech pleased the Lord that Solomon had asked this thing. It pleased the Lord, you see, to ask for understanding, you see, and judgment, and know how to lead, and to help others, and to be a king over God's people, and to guide them, you see. And God said unto him, Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thyself long life, Neither hast thou asked riches for thyself, nor hast asked life for thine enemies, but hast asked for thyself understanding to discern judgment." You see, to discern judgment. And that's what we all need to pray. We need to ask God to give us understanding and to be able to discern things, to be able to otherwise discern the things of Satan when he comes at us.
In other words, don't be angry according to Satan's devices as well, but we need to understand and discern things and let us, in other words, have wisdom to see things and ask that God would help us to make right decisions and right judgments about things and how to handle situations and all this, you see, in our life. Well, we do. I tell you, people see that and we will glorify God, you see, as we trust the Lord and ask for understanding. And people will take note of that. They are reading our lives and they're looking very closely at us, you see.
But Solomon prayed for this understanding. He said, Behold, I have done according to thy words. The Lord said, Behold, I have done according to thy words, lo, I have given thee a wise and understanding heart, so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee. I have also given thee that which thou hast not asked, both riches and honor. so that there shall not be any among the kings like unto thee all thy days." You see, many came from afar. I think it was Queen Sheba, I believe it was, if I got that right, but she came a long ways, you see, and she came to see all of this. She heard about Solomon. You see, she heard about his wisdom. She heard about his riches and all that God had blessed him, you see. And she came to see this about Solomon. And she was overwhelmed. Her heart was overwhelmed of what she saw, you see.
The Lord just blessed him in abundance, you see, because he asked for what pleased the Lord. He asked for leadership, you see. And that's what we all need to do. We need to know how to lead, you see. or in other words, responsible for somebody. We are. I tell you, we need to help those. We need to win those that God's committed to our trust, you see, and where to get them in, where to pray them in, you see. And we got a job to do. We all do. But the Bible said, that even this queen here came and to see the wisdom and all that God had blessed Solomon, you see, and he blessed him with riches and honor. And there was none, in other words, there shall not be any among the kings like unto all of thy days. And thou will walk in my ways to keep my statutes and my commandments as thy father David did walk, then I shall lengthen thy days."
Now David was an upright man. He was a man of integrity. Now he walked with the Lord and he did the work of God, but he had a time where he did fall and he did make a huge mistake, you see. But he came to God and he cried out to God and God forgave him of his sin, you see. And God forgave him even though he still paid for his sin. You better believe he did. You see, but God forgave him, but David was an upright man.
A lot of times people always want to point at the negative. I'll tell you about King David or Peter and other things too, but also about us as well. I'll tell you, people always want to try to point out anything that's negative or that type of thing. But I'll tell you that a lot of them don't want to really realize and think about all that King David did do, you see. But he did make a bad mistake and eventually got him. He had a problem with women just like Solomon did. And I tell you, he got himself in trouble, huge trouble. And one thing leads to another. You see, you cannot cover your sin and prosper. You will not. You see, David tried to cover his sin, and I'll tell you something, he was exposed. It came out, and I'll tell you, not only that, he even created more problems and more sin, murder, you see, and all these kind of things that happened when he tried to cover his sin, you see.
But then, as he began to get down and pray, and he poured out his heart to God, and he asked God to forgive, he was honest with the Lord. He knew what he'd done. He knew it was wrong. And he asked God to be merciful unto him. And God did. God forgave him. I'm thankful for the Lord's mercy upon each and every one of us, you see.
But he said, verse 14, And there came two women that were harlots. Now I spoke a little bit about this, I believe, and wasn't real familiar exactly with, I knew it was about two ladies that came to him about a child, and we spoke a little bit about it, but here I want to, in other words, kind of confirm this. In other words, take you to the place of Scripture.
There was two harlots that came to him. He said, there came two women that were harlots unto the king and stood before him. And the one woman said, Oh my Lord, I and this woman dwell in one house. I was delivered of a child with her in the house. And it came to pass the third day after I was delivered that this woman was delivered also and we were together. Both of these women were child.
And there were two harlots here and one gave birth and three days later the other lady gave birth or a woman gave birth and we were together in one house. And there was no stranger with us in the house save we two in the house. And this woman's child died in the night because she overlaid it. She turned over upon her child and smothered her child. And the child was dead. There it was.
And she arose at midnight and took my son. She took my son, the one that was living. She arose at midnight, took my son from beside me while thy handmaid slept, and laid him in her bosom and laid her dead child in my bosom. And when I rose in the morning to give my child suck, behold, it was dead. But when I considered it in the morning, behold, it was not my son, which I did bear." She said, I know my son. This is not my son. I know what my son. I gave birth to it. And I tell you, this is not my son. And this is hers.
And the other woman said, Nay, but the living is my son, and the dead is thy son. And this said, No, but the dead is thy son, and the living is my son. Thus they spake before the king. They both were standing before the king. No, this is my son, the living is mine, the dead is theirs.
And they began to go back and forth, you see, before King Solomon. You see, and the Lord gave Solomon wisdom. We start to see right away here the wisdom that God gave Solomon. Then said the king, the one said, this is my son that liveth, and thy son is the dead. And the other said, nay, but thy son is the dead, and my son is the living. And the king said, bring me a sword. Bring me a sword. And they brought a sword before the king.
Now King Solomon said, bring me a sword. He said, I'm about to divide this child, and I'm going to give each one of you a part. I tell you, one's going to have one half, and the other's going to have the other half. That's what he said. And the king said, divide the living child in two, and give half to the one and half to the other. And then spake the woman whose the living child was unto the king, for her bowels yearned upon her son." I know he could see it in her face. I could see, I tell you, as he looked at her, the mother said, no, no, do not. That's what she said. She said, and she said, oh my Lord, give her the living child. Just give this child to her. Don't kill this child. Don't divide it. Don't cut it. And then give her the living child. And then no wife slay it. Don't slay it. You see, but the other said, let it be neither mine or thine, but divide it. Just go ahead and divide it. You see, and king answered and said, give her the living child. He said, give her the living child and no wise slay it. She is the mother thereof.
He knew which one was the mother. She wanted, she loved her child and she wanted it to live. And even if it took to live with this other woman here that wasn't the mother, You see, because she said, it would be better for him to live than to die like this, no doubt. But she loved her son, and the king saw this, and he made a righteous judgment here, and he said, give the mother this child. And all Israel heard of the judgment which the king had judged, and they feared the king, for they saw that the wisdom of God was in him to do judgment. God bless King Solomon.
And I tell you, he began to go. I tell you, we don't have it all written of all the decisions that he had to make and what David had to make either. But I tell you, God blessed him in abundance. We see through the scriptures here and God gave him this great understanding. But he also gave him riches and honor and all these things. And I tell you, he was one that you can go read about in Ecclesiastes, I believe chapter Two, if I'm not mistaken, he talked about all that he had, and all the servants, and maidservants, and menservants, and all types of fruit trees, and all kinds of waters, ponds, the water, what he did have, and fields of this, and vineyards, and I mean just the best of the horses, and chariots, and just all these things that King Solomon had. You see, but he had problems with women. He no doubt called for those, and some out of Egypt, Pharaoh's daughters and so forth, and all these kind of things that he did. You see, but they eventually stole away his heart.
You see, and David stayed upright. David made a huge mistake, but he got it right with the Lord. You see, and God blessed him. He said, I'm going to bless you, and I'm going to bless you, see. You see, and he said, I'm going to continue to bless.
But then Solomon, when he made that bad mistake, and when he fell and ran after what he did, those women, and began to make places of worship for their gods, he said, don't do this, Solomon, they're going to steal away your heart. You see, and that's exactly what sin will do. I tell you, as a believer, I tell you, if you run after sin, it will steal away your heart from where it ought to be. and for serving God and loving the Lord and doing His will.
You see, you got to be careful what you do. You see, because the devil's good at what he does. The flesh is weak. The Spirit's willing, but the flesh is weak. You see, but I wanted to take you to this place of this chapter here when it speaks of these two women here, these two harlots, and how God gave Solomon this type of wisdom. You see, and I tell you, that's what we all need to seek for, is have the wisdom of the Lord, that we might do His will and be a light and a help to a lost and dying world.
But you can go and see about these things and as we turn back over, you can go and we can turn over and I can, otherwise in chapter 11, verse 1, It said, but King Solomon loved many strange women, together with the daughters of Pharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Sidonians, and the Hittites, of the nations concerned in which the Lord said unto the children of Israel, you shall not go into them, neither shall they come in unto you, for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods. Solomon claimed unto these in love. And he had 700 wives. princes and 300 concubines and his wives turn away his heart. God have mercy. I tell you, he had a problem.
And I tell you, the Lord just made male and female, made he them. He said that they would come away and break away and become one. Two shall become one flesh. When you get married, that's what happens. You become one. That's what God ordained. For two to become one. Not to have many wives, not to have many husbands. You see.
But like brother Lester Roloff, excuse me, I get out, like he mentioned them. And others have too, but I heard him, it might have been today. But anyway, he spoke of, there was only, I'd have had one wife that got with him into the ark. First of all, God gave him one wife to begin with. And then also, he only had one wife that he went into art with as well. And God ordained one. Two become one, you see. In death do you part. That's what he says. It's a serious thing. It's a special, precious union. For two to become one, you see. And to become as a whole, you see. Heart with heart, you see. And the bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh. and things and you're to come one, you see.
But here Solomon had all these wives and these princes and concubines and so forth. And it came to pass when Solomon was old that his wives turned away his heart after other gods. And his heart was not perfect with the Lord his God, as was the heart of David his father. You see, and Solomon went after Ashtoreth, the goddess of the Sidonians, and after Milcom, the abomination of the Ammonites. And Solomon did evil in the sight of the Lord, and went not fully after the Lord, as did David his father. Then did Solomon build a high place, Chemosh. the abomination of Moab, and the hill that is before Jerusalem, and for Molech, and the abomination of the children of Amnon. And likewise did he for all his strange wives, which burnt incense and sacrificed to their gods.
And the Lord was angry with Saul, because his heart was turned from the Lord God of Israel, which he had appeared unto him twice. The Lord appeared unto him twice, at first at Gibeon, and then also when he came back to him again. In chapter 9, as we read that earlier, the second time God spoke to him, you see, but he still went his way. In other words, he failed. When he was older age, he failed. And the Lord commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods. But he kept not that which the Lord commanded. He didn't keep that which the Lord commanded. He didn't keep his heart with the Lord, and make good judgment, righteous judgment, and serve only the Lord.
Wherefore the Lord said unto Solomon, forasmuch as this is done of thee, and thou hast not kept my covenant in my statutes, which I have commanded thee, I will surely rend the kingdom from thee, and will give it to thy servant. Notwithstanding, in thy days I will not do it for David thy father's sake, but I will rend it out of the hand of thy son. I will not rend away all the kingdom, but will give one tribe to thy son for David, my servant's sake, and for Jerusalem's sake that I have chosen."
And the Lord stirred up an adversary unto Solomon. He started having these troubles and problems, and he eventually dies. And I'll tell you, he talks about he had a servant named, I believe, Jeroboam. and so forth. He was an industrious man, a man of valor, I tell you. But Solomon began to turn against him, no doubt, and problems arose there. And Solomon tried to kill him. He couldn't come around. And then the servants, of course, You can go read this in the next chapters. I've read it not long ago, but you can go read it for yourself. It's not come to mind as clear as I want it to, but you can go read that. Chapter 12.
And chapter 10 talks about the Queen Shiva. I wasn't sure about that at first, but that is what it says here. The Queen of Sheba heard the fame of Solomon concerning the name of the Lord. And she came to prove Him with hard questions. And she came to Jerusalem. She came to see for herself. This man of wisdom that she heard about, God blessed above all the kings. And she came to prove Him with hard questions. And she came to Jerusalem with a very great train, with camels that bear spices and very much gold and precious stones. And when she was come to Solomon, she communed with him of all that was in her heart. And Solomon told her all her questions. There was not anything hid from the king, which he told her not.
And when the queen of Sheba had seen all Solomon's wisdom in the house they had built, and the meat of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the attendance of the ministers, and their apparel, and his cupbearers, and his accent by which he went up into the house of the Lord, there was no more spirit in her. She was overwhelmed by what she saw, how God blessed him. And she said to the king, it was a true report that I heard in my own land of thy acts and thy wisdom. How be it? I believe not words. But howbeit, I believed not the words until I came, and my eyes had seen it. And behold, half was not told me. Thy wisdom and prosperity exceedeth the fame which I heard. Happy are thy men, happy are thy servants, which stand continually before thee, and that they hear thy wisdom. Blessed be the Lord thy God, which delighteth in thee, to set on thee the throne of Israel, because the Lord loved Israel forever. Therefore may he, the king, to do judgment and justice."
And she gave the king 120 talents of gold. and a spice's very great store, and precious stones. And there came no more such abundance of spices as these, which Queen Sheba gave to King Solomon.
" And you go on and read all of this, and her heart was overwhelmed, you see, because of what she heard. She said, you see, not even half of it was even told to me. You've seen. But I'm thankful that the Lord does. And we need to pray right. And we need to seek that God's will be done in our life. We may not definitely be called to be the President of the United States or be a king or anything like that. Or may not even be called to be a preacher. I tell you, but you've been called. You see, chosen and called by God and we're to pray that God's will be done in our life and that we would know the talent and the work, the will that God has set forth in front of us and for us to see it and have the vision and go and do the will of God and don't let anything turn us from it. Don't let anything steal away our heart. You say, from the Lord. You say, because it will. I tell you, it's bigger than we are. Sin is. And I tell you, when we go and we fall down to it, I tell you, even with all our good intentions, I tell you, we will fall. I tell you. And we'll make a bad mistake. And I tell you, it's not only that you that go down. All others and a lot of other folks around you will go down with you. And I tell you, you'll handle a lot of people. And people will go to hell. And I tell you, if others are not praying for them, they'll go to hell. And not only that, you'll have blood on your hands.
David prayed and he said, Lord, forgive me and cleanse me. And no doubt, he said, from blood guiltiness, I'm guilty. Blood is on my hands. You see, and I tell you, we don't want any blood on our hands. I tell you, God calls us to be responsible and to win the lost and to possess the land. Possess the land. He brought us out of the land of Egypt, the place of bondage. And He gave us our freedom. He gave us liberty. He gave us salvation. And He said, go and possess the land that I've already given you. I've already gave you that. You see, when He told them to go to Canaan and all that, where He told them that He gave them the land and how He brought them right through, marched through the Red Sea and so forth, crossed over Jordan, down into Canaan, all this, you see, because the Lord loves His people and He guides us. for work to do. And let's follow Him tonight to do His will. And I tell you, don't let anything hinder us from doing the will of God.
You saved. And I tell you, if you've been saved, And you're in sin. And I tell you, you're following things that you know they ought not to be following. They stole away your heart. And that's why you can't pray. And that's why you can't really seem to get in touch with the Lord. I tell you, you've got to be determined. If you're saved, you've got to be determined. I said, Lord, if I pray all night, Lord, I tell you, I know I don't deserve to feel your presence again. If I never feel your presence again, I owe you my life. I owe you my heart. Do my best to do what you call me to do. You see, if you never bless me again, you got to come to the Lord like that. You see, God will help you. He'll hear you. He wants you to pour out your whole heart to Him. You see. And I tell you, He'll save you as well. If you're not saved, but you've got a one above life itself. I tell you, I know the God I serve and I know that He saves and I know that He restores, you see. He restores that which is lost and all these things. And so, I'm trying to help you. I've been trying to help you. And whoever may hear this, I'm trying to help. you see, and preach what God gives me, because I know that the word that He sends for will not come back unto Him void.
So let's continue to pray for the services, and let's pray for all these prayer requests. There's some that said they're gonna come, or are desiring to come and be with us, and I tell you, let's pray that they'll come on and be with us, and to the Lord's house, and God can speak into their hearts. I know it's in their heart, but the devil is good about beating people out. and fear the unknown, certain things like that. But we need to be in prayer for them. The Lord is going to send others our way. He's going to fill the house. I'm not looking for numbers. I'm not looking for that type of thing. But I am looking for the Lord to send his people in here to be fed. And I'm looking for him to send people here to be saved.
I tell you, the work is great. And we got but a short time to get it done. I tell you, if we look at what's going on in our world today, I have no problem seeing we're in the last days. I have no problem seeing. I tell you, what's coming to pass and what's shaping up, I tell you, it's terrible. What's going on in our world today? And I tell you, we don't need to be sitting on the stools of, like Pastor Reed always says, the stools will do nothing. But we're to get busy about our Father's business. There's gonna come a time when it's gonna be too late to work. We're not going to be able to work anymore. It would be too late to do anything. And so, we need to do it now while we can. Like my brother said in his prayers, with hands quick and strong.
I tell you, we need to be faithful. We need to put on the whole armor of God. You see, we need to gird up the loins, you see. Gird up our loins, you see. Just put the whole armor on. And take that belt, put it around our loins, tie it all together. He said stand. You see, with our loins girt, you see, and we need to stand that way and stand and girt up the loins of our mind. I tell you, just get our minds made up, get our heart fixed. We're going to do the will of God, you see, and we're going to pray and we're going to seek God. And as the devil throws his his darks at us, you see. And those kind of lies he throws at us and everything else. And we gird up our mind with the Word of God, with the truth of the Word of God, that we can come back down everything that the devil has thrown our way and lying unto us and trying to discourage us, you see. And therefore we got to stand girt. Stand girded up, you see, and fight this fight and run this race that's set before us. Looking unto Jesus, the author and the finisher of our faith. I'm thankful that, in other words, I enjoy being in the house of the Lord tonight. And I know sometimes I stutter, sometimes my mind gets distracted, and that's alright too because I'm not trying to impress anybody. I am trying to do the will of God. I'm trying to do what He wants me to do and follow Him.
And I know sometimes, I tell you, He helps us. Sometimes He'll help you too. I tell you that you would grab hold of your mind as well. I tell you it's not just me, but also you. We all got to look at that. But I definitely don't just sit here and blame everything on the congregation. I tell you, but I do know the devil's doing everything he can to distract us, every one of us.
But I'm thankful that the Lord is speaking and he's dealing with heart. So I love you tonight. I want you to bow your head with me. And we're gonna close out tonight. The altar is open. It always is open. So you don't need the altar call to come. Anytime you feel like you need to pray, you can come down and pray. Get on your knees and talk to the Lord. He'll have mercy on you. I know He'll meet your needs, you see.
But go and read this, go and study about King Solomon. We learn by the mistakes that these kings have made, the good kings, and there's also wicked kings, and I'll tell you all these kind of things, but we need to know what the Word of God has to say, and know what pleases the Lord as well, you see. And we need to seek to please God. Others need to come. You need to come on down to the altar and pray.
We're going to go ahead and pray. And I'm asking the Lord at this time to see who He wants to pray. I tell you, I want His will to be done. I tell you, I don't forget about you. I tell you, I pray and ask God whom He will. I tell you, whether it's a daughter in the Lord, you see, or my wife, or you, or my brother, or the brother in Christ, a sister in the Lord, so forth, you see. Be in blessed prayer for the Sunday service as well, looking for more to come.
I tell you that the devil's really working, trying to hinder folks and trying to keep them from coming. And let's be much prayer about that as well. Some really want to be here, but they let circumstances and problems in their own life hinder them from coming to the house of the Lord. They need to keep coming. I tell you, that's where they'll draw strength. Got to keep coming to the house of the Lord, you see.
And the Lord take care of everybody else. He'll take care of that. We seek to do God's will and be where He wants us. You better believe the Lord will deal with all that's trying to hinder the work of God. I know He will. And I tell you, so let's pray about that as well.
