Amen. All right, John chapter number 14. Blake, somehow, you can do it right there from your seat. Just make sure that my voice is on the live stream right where the preaching should be. But pull it up on your phone if you want, see if you can hear it. Nobody will think you're over there playing around or nothing, I don't think. John 14. Preach to you. We'll see how it comes out, but I just want to give you something, try and help you. Most people, this is the first Sunday of, well for all people, this is the first Sunday of the new year, 2025. Most people, a lot of these preachers will be doing what they call vision messages. And they'll be given a vision, cast a vision. I've done it a few times. We did every home scene in 2017. It's successful. We knocked on every door in Ripley and even more and saw some fruit from it. People come, but people left. Amen. So, you know, it was good for a while, so praise the Lord. Different visions, things, and Brother Derek called, texted with me the other day and said, what can I pray about specifically for your vision for the church? I said, well, I don't necessarily have one of them on my heart right now, you know, God just didn't give me that. But I said, my vision consistently is that, as you can tell from our expository night and our doctrinal night, is that my people, our people, us, get deeper in the Word of God. And if we can do anything in 2025, I want our people to understand the Word of God better than they ever have. Amen? I want you to learn to divide it, to rightfully divide it, to know what to apply, how to apply, and to take what's not written specifically to us and be able to apply that to your life. And I want you to learn the principles of using this Bible to help your life, amen? and to grow you, and that's a big deal to me. And I believe it's the only way we're truly going to be successful, amen? You can build all the buildings you want. You can do all that stuff you want. You know, some guys got big building programs, and yes, I want to do another project where we do more on the building. And some men will have different things, but if we can just get in the Word of God, learn the Word of God, get a relationship with God the Holy Ghost, amen? And I believe that would handle everything. Everything else will fall into place, amen. So that's kind of what I told him. So he said he'd pray for that. But as I was studying, I felt like God laid this message on my heart. As I studied, Brother Delbert, it came to my realization that, man, this would be a vision for the people of God this year. I mean, what a tremendous vision this would be if we could apply this to our life and this become a thing that is in our lives and in our homes. And the one thing we need in this Christian life that we can only have through Jesus Christ, amen, and through the love of the Spirit as I preached on Thursday is peace, peace, peace. Sweet peace. Amen. That's what we need. You can know all the doctrine you want But if you don't have peace in your life, you got a problem. Amen You can build the biggest church have the biggest gymnasium have all the amenity and nimity's and all that stuff, but if you ain't got peace you you ain't got nothing, amen? You can have all the visions you want, do all the big things you want, amen? But if you ain't got peace, you ain't got nothing, amen? If you don't have peace, life is miserable. All of us have seen somebody or know somebody that has absolutely no peace in their life, amen? They struggle through things, they worry, they doubt, amen? And guess what? I'm going through things, you're going through things. If we're not, we're gonna go through things, amen? And the best thing to have in this life is peace through what we're going through. In the text this morning, I just realized in the beginning of this, you know, this is what they preach at every funeral. Let not your heart be troubled. You believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions. If I were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. That's brand new news to these boys. You know, they ain't been listening the whole time, they ain't been paying attention. And he says, if I go to prepare a place for you, I'll come again receiving unto myself that where I am there you may be also, and whither I go you know, and whither I go you know, and whither I go you know, and whither I go you know, and whither I go you know, and whither I go you know, and whither I go you know, and whither I go you know, and whither I go you know, and whither I go you know, and whither I go you know, and whither I go you know, and whither I go you know, and whither I go you know, and whither I go you know, and whither I go you know, and whither I go you know, and whither I go you know, and whither I go you know, and whither I go you know, and whither I go you know, and whither I go you He said, I'm the way, the truth, and the life. Amen? But this is news to them. News to them. And then the text I'm going to read down in verse 15 this morning, Christ is telling His boys that He's on the way to the cross of Calvary. You gotta put yourself in the text this morning. Not read it like a story, but read it like a historical account. Imagine you was there. They followed this man. They have fallen in love with this man. They believe this man is God in the flesh. This man has come to save them. Listen, that'd make him more important to them as he ought to be in your life now than your mom, your dad, your family, your children. I mean, this was Their Messiah, this was their king. This was the man they put in front of everything. They dropped everything. They dropped their business. They dropped their families. He said, let the dead bury the dead. Come follow me. These men gave him everything. And they're getting ready to see him brutally suffer and die on the cross of Calvary. Now, they ain't seen that yet, but he knows that. He knows what they're gonna be feeling, and he's telling them. I'd say it'd be worse than you watching the death of your loved one. I'd say it'd be worse than you watching your loved one suffer. They were getting ready to watch that Messiah suffer. And you've got to think they'd have been extremely scared and full of worry about this situation. I must believe they would have had feelings of fear, feelings of anxiety, feelings of worry, feelings of doubt. Is he really the Messiah? We thought something different was going to happen. Feelings of betrayal. Did he lie to us, Delbert? Feelings of abandonment. I mean, Christ had told them John had said he was going to come and rule on the throne. Hence the argument they had. Who's going to be the greatest in the kingdom? They're looking for him to go to the throne of David. And now, out of nowhere, they're finding out he's gonna die? He's gonna die? They must have been searching for peace. And now remember, this is before the Spirit of God permanently indwelt. Am I right? Before the Spirit of God, who I'm getting ready to teach you, God sent for us to have peace. He puts it on them. He prays and puts it on them in chapter 20. But they ain't got no indwelling Holy Ghost of God here. Don't ask me to explain exactly what they had. But I'm telling you, the Comforter had been sent to indwell. Which is where you get your peace. They must have been searching for peace. He knew they would be searching for peace. Look at verse 15. He says, If ye love me, keep my commandments, and I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him, but ye know him, for he dwelleth with you, and shall, I like that, he dwelleth with you, dwelling with Him, but He shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless, I will come to you. Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more, but ye see me, because I live, ye shall live also. At that day, when the Spirit comes, at that day, ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. he that hath my commandments and keepeth them he it is that loveth me and he that loveth me shall be loved of my father and i will love him and will manifest myself to him judas said unto him not to scare it lord how is it that thou will manifest thyself unto us and not unto the world How are we going to know you, but the world ain't going to know me? Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words, and my Father will love him, and will come unto him and make our abode, take up an abode with him. He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings, and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father which sent me. These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you in the flesh. but the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name. He shall teach you all things, we use this Thursday, and bring all things to your remembrance whatsoever I have said unto you. Peace I leave with you. My peace I give unto you, not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. You have heard now, I said unto you, I go away and come again unto you. If you love me, you would rejoice because I said, I go unto my father. He said, I'm leaving. And if you really love me, you're going to worship, you're going to rejoice with me. Man, you can apply that to save people, going to the father. I go unto the father for my father is greater than I. See, the best vision we can have this year, y'all, is to begin operating in a manner. And I'm preaching myself this morning. I'm trying to help myself. So you help yourself. It's to begin operating in a manner or a way that we have peace in our lives over all things. The absolute best element of Christianity that you can possess, and I know love is the greatest, but man, with that love, you know what comes? Is that peace of God in your life. I'm tired of sleepless nights. I'm tired of getting up and thinking all morning from 3 a.m. to 7 a.m. I'm tired of it. I'm tired of falling victim to Satan's practices and living in fear and anxiety over things, aren't you? I want to be in a place where I can have peace no matter what's happening around me. I want to be in a place where God will give me that peace. Don't you want the peace of God in your life? I sure do. The world doesn't have it. The worldly Christian doesn't have it. The carnal Christian doesn't have it. But oh, how wonderful peace is for that spiritual Christian that has it from God. I'm talking about peace, peace, wonderful peace, like Lauren just sang. Here's another hymn. Peace, peace, sweet peace. I believe it's called sweet peace from the Father above or from the Father's love. At verse one, and that one says, there comes to my heart one sweet strain, a glad and joyous refrain. I sing it again and again, sweet peace, the gift of God's love. Then that chorus goes, peace, peace, sweet peace, wonderful gift from above. Oh, wonderful, wonderful peace, sweet peace, the gift of God's love. Do we see something tied together here? The Spirit of God brings the love of God in us, amen? You commune with the Spirit of God and have a relationship with Him, and you can have the peace of God in your life. I don't know how to tell you exactly how to have that peace. I can tell you what I tell you every single service. I can tell you those regimented normal Christian things. Read and study your Bible every day. Pray and build a relationship with God every day. Be faithful to God every day. That'll help tremendously. But there is a battle of the flesh and the spirit that goes on within you. You understand that? Galatians 5 and 17, for the flesh lusts against the spirit, and the spirit against the flesh. These are contrary one to the other, so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. We apply that to temptation. We apply that to sin. but it applies to everything else. It applies to peace. When the Spirit of God in you wants you to have peace over a situation, but your flesh reminds you of your fear, your flesh brings up your fear, and when we're not spiritual, we allow the flesh to win that battle, and we worry, and we fear, and we have anxiety, but if the Spirit of God would have power over us, we don't have to worry, amen, and we can have the peace of God in our lives. It's a personal battle you gotta win. It's a personal battle that you're gonna have to fight in the Lord and with the might of His Spirit to conquer the flesh. But this morning, I wanna show you several types of peace that we can have in this life. And by knowing these types of peace and being reminded of them, that may help the battle with the flesh in your life. so that you can have peace and keep the flesh from robbing you of the peace that that spirit wants to give you in your life, amen? I'm gonna show you three types of peace that God gives us this morning. Father, I love you. Pray you'd help us this morning. God, I pray we would have peace. God, when we go through the struggles of life, God, I pray you'd give us peace. God, I pray we'd have peace about our salvation. God, I pray we'd have peace about everything in life. Father, we love you and we praise you in Jesus' name. Amen, amen. We've got peace, man. Nobody gets bitter. You just got peace with what happens. You ain't gonna get bitter at something that happened to you or bitter about a death or bitter about this, bitter about that because God gives you peace. I wanna give you this. Number one, there is peace for the soul. Peace for the soul. Verse 16, let's read it. We got a lot of doctrinal stuff this morning. We got a lot of expositional stuff. I will pray the Father and he shall give you another comforter. that he may abide with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him, but ye know him, for he dwelleth with you and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless, I will come to you, yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more, but ye see me, because I live, ye shall live also. At that day, at the coming of the Spirit, ye shall know that I am in my Father, ye in me and I in you. So the text, Jesus is telling these men that he's getting ready to go away, but there's going to be one that's coming, another. But what is he really saying there? I'm going away, but there's going to be a change in the way things are happening. Aren't you thankful for the buts in the word of God, amen? I ain't going to say always, but it oftentimes means something not too good is happening. But Jesus has the answer to the problem. And his answer to the problem was a change in the operation of pneumatology, amen, in the change in the way the Holy Ghost was gonna work. He said, when I leave you, I will not leave you comfortless. I'm your comforter now." But he said, I will come. He said that. But without wading too deep in waters this morning, understand the doctrinal implication in the text that ties to the teaching of the doctrine of the Holy Spirit on Thursday and how it works and how it ties to the dispensationalism and the change in the way that God deals with man. I didn't hear no agreeance, so let me explain. These men were walking and talking, Jeff, with the king of the physical kingdom of heaven and expecting him to go sit on a physical throne of David in his kingdom. Every one of these 12 disciples were baptized under the baptism of John the Baptist, which is a baptism of repentance. Amen? They were not believers in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. You know why? He had not resurrected yet. Amen? They did not have the indwelling Holy Spirit, as I already said. They were not sealed by the Spirit of God yet, because He had not sent the Comforter to seal them. So as I said in the intro, imagine the fear and anxiety. in these men as their saviors, telling them, well, boys, you followed me these three years, left your family, left your jobs, left everything, but I'm out of here. They may have thought they'd been boondoggled, bamboozled, deceived. I mean, you believe what you want. When they're hearing that, do you think they have a guarantee of salvation in their hearts? Do you think they're thinking, well, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Where are you going, man? They simply thought they were going to follow Christ in the kingdom. What fear and lack of peace they'd had. Sounds like a works doctor in God worry about his salvation all the time, don't it? That's why Christ said what he said in the verse, because he knew he was sending them a peace of the soul for all who believe. Notice the doctrine of spirit of God and the dispensation of grace that he is teaching them before it even began. I will pray the Father, he shall give you another comforter that may abide with you forever. That word another can mean two things. It can mean another of one kind of something different. Huh? I mean, Blake's one kind of person, all nice and cool and all that stuff. Hannah's another. Amen. She's great. You see what I'm saying? But Jesus is using it in the fact that there's one coming, another that's just like me. There's another coming that's just like me. You got comfort walking with me, but there's another coming, hallelujah, that's gonna give you comfort just like I do. He's the third person of the triune Godhead, and he's coming to indwell you and abide in you forever. What a verse, what a verse on eternal salvation. He's coming to abide in you forever to comfort you. What peace and comfort comes from knowing He'll abide in us forever. Ephesians 1 and 13, Whom you trusted, after that you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. And whom also after that you believed, you were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise after you believed. Casey Harness used to be a Pentecostal, Church of God, lost his salvation, said he lived in fear all the time. They're a lot harder core than our free wheelers and our gospel tabernacles and all that. Those guys, you know, if you ain't living it, you just lost it, you done. You just sinned once or twice, you done. Could you imagine the fear? It's peace, knowing we're eternally saved. It also means He's coming back for us, am I right? The fact that He's been deposited in us means that Christ is coming back to redeem us in the future. Ephesians 1 and 14, which is the earnest of our inheritance, just like when you buy a house, put down an earnest deposit. Until when? The redemption of the purchased possession. He's coming to truly complete the redemption that began the day you got saved. unto the praise of his glory. You understand the amount of peace, knowing that we don't even have to worry about tribulation. All these mid-rathers and post-trib guys, we don't even have to worry about going through that. We've got peace. He's coming back for us. You know what else? He came to indwell you. I know I've already said it. But ye know him, verse 17, for he dwelleth with you and shall be, when he sends him in the age of grace, amen, after the beginning of the church, Acts 2, in you. I'm glad the Spirit of God lives in me, helps me, encourages me, gives me peace when I'm in fear and in doubt. What know you not that your body's a temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? Do you understand the amount of peace that the Spirit of God gives us? We'll never walk alone. We don't have to be lonely. We never have to face a trial on our own. We never have to face it in our flesh. You can choose to, and many of you probably do, and worry and fear and all that, but you don't have to. Through the Spirit of God and His love, you can walk through the valley of the shadow of death and fear no evil. That, my friend, is peace, peace, sweet peace. We've taught on the reconciliation of God many times. and how he reconciled us from our sinful state through the propitiation made through Christ's blood on the cross of Calvary. How we're justified by faith, therefore being justified by faith we have peace of God through our Lord Jesus Christ. We were at enmity, we were at war with God in our soul before we were saved. Your sin invited the wrath of God onto your life, but Christ gave you peace of the soul when you got saved. Ephesians 2 and 14, for he is our peace. who hath made both one and hath broken down the middle wall partition between us having abolished in the flesh the enmity even the law of the commandments contained in ordinances for to make in himself of twain one new man so making peace and that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross having slain the enmity thereby and came and preached peace to you which were far off and to them that were nigh for through him we both have access by one spirit unto the Father The Spirit of God will give you peace this morning. If you don't know him, you ought to know him. He'll give you a peace that passes all understanding. Miss Debbie's 70-year-old sister came up and got saved during her Bible. And I remember getting up and saying, I feel like the way the world's been lifted off me. You know what that is? That's peace, peace, sweet peace. My little daughter struggled with peace for many years until God gave it to her one day about her salvation. And now she's got that peace, peace, sweet peace. My friend Jeremy said when he got saved, he used to roll over in bed as a teenager, afraid he was going to roll off into hell. He didn't have any peace, but he got saved, reconciled to God, now he's got peace, peace, sweet peace. Casey Harness had no peace, now he's got peace. I never had no peace in my life, out there doing all the wicked things I did, in trouble, praying to God, begging God for peace, and I never had any peace, any peace, any peace. till that day on Campbell's Creek Drive or Piedmont, whatever that road's called, after that church service when God was dealing with me, amen, and I was being born again, and I went there and I turned away that alcohol and I chose Christ, amen, and honey, you remember, there was a peace that came over me that changed my life, amen. That song says, through Christ on the cross, peace was made. My debt by his death was all paid. No other foundation is laid for peace, the gift of God's love. Verse 3 of it says, when Jesus, as Lord I had crowned, made him Lord of his life, my heart with this peace did abound. In him rich blessing I found. Sweet peace, the gift of God's love. Peace, peace, Sweet peace, wonderful gift from above. There's peace for the soul this morning. There's peace for society this morning. There will be, future. Look at verse 28. You've heard how I said unto you, I go away and come again unto you. If you love me, you would rejoice, because I said I go unto my Father, for my Father is greater than I. But you notice the beginning, he said, I go away and I come again. This point may not excite you as much as the last one might or whatever, but it's forward, it's in the future, but it's just as important. There will never be peace on earth. Y'all know that? As long as Democrats or Republicans run the show, there will not be peace. There will be wars. There will be fighting. There will never be world peace. It's a farce in the age of grace. The Bible literally promises us until Christ comes and sets up that millennial kingdom, it promises us that Isaac and Ishmael will never have peace. What's that mean? The Christian and Muslim will never have peace. The Arab and the Jew will never have peace. The hippie movement and world peace is a farce and it's anti-Bible. Post-millennialism is a heresy. It states that Christ will return after the kingdom age, which is rubbish and unsupported scripture, propagated in the mid-17th century by Daniel Whitley and took a fall in the post-World War II era because it taught societies are progressively upward moving and getting better with technology and scientific advancement, although all that technology and scientific advancement was used to kill hundreds of thousands of people in war, amen? They believe the gospel will increase and it will end with a time of faith, righteousness, prosperity, and peace. Amen? You see why the history and World War II pretty much messed up their theology? It just ain't right. Amillennialism is a heresy that believes there's no millennium. And they truly have to out-aggraise half the Bible and be as anti-Semitic as possible, steal every promise from Israel they can. They believe there's no millennial reign of Christ, that the promise in Old Testament Jews are fulfilled spiritually through the church, and they just made that up. I've looked at all the verses. They say it makes them believe that. They believe the kingdom is present now, even though it says a thousand if you literally read it in there. They believe it's just how many years it wants to be, and that it's present now on the earth, and Christ will return and institute the eternal state. The devil's still loosed, which in the Bible says he won't be loosed. The curse on animal life, a lion can't lay down with a lamb right now, can he? Devils still roam the earth, right? There's still longevity of life where there's still an average of 70 years, whatever the Bible says. There's still not world peace. We're not in a millennial kingdom, y'all. Unless you allegorize half your Bible. There's no peace in society. But you know what can bring the believer peace? Well, Luke 2 and 13, suddenly there was an angel, a multitude of heavenly hosts praising God and saying, it's a Christmas story, glory to God in the highest and on earth, peace, goodwill toward men. You know why? The king was on the earth. That's what it's referencing. Psalms 20, 72 and 7, in his days shall the righteous flourish and abundance of peace so long as the moon and earth, mercy and truth are met together, righteousness and peace have kissed each other. Those are millennial psalms. Talking about the Millennial Kingdom. What about in Isaiah 9 and 6? For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government shall be upon his shoulders. His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. We preach that, right? Because that's what happened on Christmas, amen? But verse number 7, the very next verse, of the increase of his government and peace, there shall be no end. Upon the throne of David, upon his kingdom, to order it and to establish it with judgment and justice from henceforth ever, even forever, the zeal of the Lord, hosts will perform this millennial text in the prophetic books he's bringing peace to this world y'all and that means something to the believer You know what that means? You don't have to worry about the government anymore. You don't have to watch Fox News and get upset and afraid. God puts up who he wants to put up. You don't have to worry about the president and the politics. I mean, we can laugh and have a good time because Trump's the man. You ain't got to worry about it. You don't even have to worry about society. You know what you ought to do? Just go find you a good little conservative town. I know I rag on Ripley sometimes because we ain't got no good-thinking restaurants except Mexican. Go find you a good conservative city like Ripley, West Virginia. I love Ripley, amen. Raise your family to love God. Live out in the woods somewhere. Keep as much internet out of your home as you can and sit there and love God and look for his coming, amen, right there. Get you some guinea pigs. Get you whatever Hannah's got over there. Get you some basset hounds. What else y'all got? A couple ferrets. Amen. Get you some fainting goats. Amen. Go out there and yell at them all the time. Can you imagine Hannah going outside yelling at them goats and just falling over? Go find you somewhere conservative and love God. Amen. Quit worrying about everything in this world. Quit worrying about the paycheck. Quit worrying about the government. Quit worrying about everything. Live in peace till we get to rule and reign with Him for a thousand years. Can I just tell you what's really going to happen real fast? Then we'll get to this last point which is the thrust of the whole message. In the day of Christ, we're going to be raptured out of here, head to the judgment seat, head to the marriage supper of the Lamb. The day of the Lord will commence down here. Simultaneously, the Jews will be sifted. The Jews will be dealt with for the time of Jacob's trouble, the tribulation of seven years. God will deal with them. But then when the time has come, Christ, the Prince of Peace is returning. Amen. The nations and Satan armies will be gathered and fight against Jerusalem in what we call the Battle of Armageddon. And it's a battle that the blood will run to the horse's bridles. Amen. A river of blood, 184 miles long, the depth of the height of a horse's bridle, probably four foot. Amen. One man said six courts. It'll take the blood of at least one billion human beings to make that stream about 20 yards wide to flow 184 miles. Amen. That man was Jeff. Amen. But that will be the day of Christ when the Prince of Peace will return. Amen. His feet will come and touch down on the Mount of Olives east of Jerusalem. And the Mount of Olives will split in half forming a great valley. And one day there will be neither sunlight nor darkness. No distinction between day or night because the sun will be with us. Amen. The armies of the hand of Christ and all the other armies of the world will be instantly destroyed with the word of the Prince of Peace. Amen. And Satan will be seized and incarcerated in the abyss. And the beast and the false prophet will be thrown alive into the lake of fire. The surviving people of the earth will be summoned to the valley of Jehoshaphat just outside Jerusalem for judgment. And the Prince of Peace will divide believer from unbeliever as easily as a sheepherder divides sheep from goats. And a small remnant of Jews and Gentiles that preserved, persevered through the tribulation will enter that millennial kingdom with us. But the condemned will follow the beast and the false prophet into a lost eternity. And God will slay all unregenerated mankind. Some of them people refused to bow then, but they're gonna bow now. Listen, the time has come for them to reap what they've sowed. They'll be judged. They'll be destroyed with the word of the Prince of Peace, and the Antichrist and the false prophet will be cast alive in the lake of the fire with their followers and obliterated. Jesus, the Prince of Peace, will return to earth to institute this millennium of peace that you and I will rule and reign in. Hey man, that stuff excites me. Get a little unearthly minded, amen. Get a little outer space minded, amen. Peace, peace, sweet peace. There's a peace for the soul this morning. There's a peace in society this morning. Lastly, there's a peace in your situations this morning. 26 says this, but the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, bring all things you remember whatsoever I have said unto you. Peace I leave with you. My peace I give unto you, not as the world giveth, give unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. This is the point that really sparked the message in my heart. The most important thing to get us through this life is to have peace. All that other stuff gives us peace, right? But we're saved. We've got peace of our salvation. We know we're going to heaven. But there's still things that happen in this life that we've got to get peace about to have a proper Christian life. Y'all see how important the Holy Ghost is in our lives? It's time to stop grieving him. It said he'll teach you all things, right? He'll teach you how to get through that trial. How to release the bitterness and the anger and how to enjoy life. He said, let not your heart be troubled and be not afraid. He said, don't fear anything and don't let it bother your heart. That seems like a command to me. Do not. That's Christ. Do not. Everybody worries and to the extent of your worry is dependent upon a lack of faith in what I just gave you. A lack of relationship, really, with the Holy Ghost of God that builds that faith. People who have strong faith seem to worry little. People who have weak faith seem to worry a lot. And life, events, may be increasing the worry, but it's still tied to a lack of faith. You may not like this, but he just told us not to worry. Therefore, when you worry, it's a sin. Be careful for nothing. Be full of care about nothing. Worry about nothing, but in everything, prayer and supplication. Don't worry about it, pray about it. When we worry, we're doubting the sovereign hand of God. The all-knowing hand of God that's always right and never made a mistake. Humble yourself therefore into the mighty hand of God that he may exalt you in due time casting all your care upon him for he cares for you. When we worry we doubt his promises. Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises that by these he might be partakers of the divine nature having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. This is high level stuff. requires you doing everything you can to have that relationship with the Holy Spirit of God. Back to the core disciplines, right? But you've got to desire his direction and then be obedient to him and live in his love and comfort. That's through the Holy Ghost. But it said this, he brings all things to remembrance that I have said. He speaks the words of Christ and the promises of God that I just mentioned. You got to be very careful and make sure that the promises that you're applying to your life are to you. Remember, we're not allegorical. I done talked about all that. You don't just steal promises to Israel in the millennial. You can't make things up either. You understand that? Be careful about charismatic doctrine and thinking that God told you personally outside of his word that he's going to do something futuristic, something in the future. God will give you peace about someone's salvation but do not mistake that with a prophetic proclamation for a future event of salvation for someone. He'll give you peace about healing someone through prayer without giving you a prophetic proclamation of how he is going to heal that person. He may promise you he's going to heal somebody and his healing is going to heaven but your goofy self thought he was going to heal them miraculously on this earth and then you're bitter and mad at God the rest of your life. We can't be making things up and being charismatic y'all. Learn to know the promises of God and rest in them and find peace through the love of the Holy Ghost that's living in you. One of the best things you can do this morning If you ever have real doubt and worry and fear, just go to your Bible and begin to memorize them promises. I'm going to give you a couple of them. God promises salvation, we've already covered that in point one, to all who believe in the Son. For I'm not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus, for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth. Right? God promises eternal life to all those who trust him. Whosoever drinketh the water of the fountain, I shall give him, and shall never thirst. And there shall be a well springing up to everlasting life. He promised to hold us securely forever, and I give unto them eternal life. They shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. He gave us all those. Those are eternal salvation, eternally secure and safe. You don't have to worry about the doctor's report. You don't have to worry about your health anymore. You don't have to worry about your safe family anymore. I know there's missing people and all that, but you don't have to worry about them. And I know that sometimes it's difficult to find that inner peace. We can have that peace and know some things, but still to have that inner peace through those promises is difficult. But you've got to keep reading and keep studying. You know what else he says? He promises comfort in our trials when life is at its worst. There's nothing I can say. The Word of God is more powerful than anything I'll ever say. Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort, who comforteth us in all our tribulation. He promises that all things will work out for the good for his children. I understand it's making us more Christ-like, but it's good. We know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to purpose. A lot of times we want God to change his mind on things and do it different. Who knows how bad it would have been if he would have listened to us. And right now I'm just thinking in my Bible, I'm sure they're all happy that Hezekiah lived 15 more years. But that's where Manasseh come from. The wickedest king they ever had that drove all their children into sin and made them all perish and go to hell. But I bet that man's family was happy he got 15 more years. But look what it did. Thousands going to hell. Jesus promised rest in the world that's full of worry and pain. Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I'll give you rest. Take my yoke. He promised us that we don't have to mourn like the world. But I would not have you ignorant brethren. He said, I don't want you to be uninformed. I got to teach you something. You gotta learn something concerning them which are asleep, those that died, that you sorrow not, even as those which have no hope. Something fantastic. You don't have to be like lost people. You don't have to sorrow about it. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, that's what I gotta teach you, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. He promises peace that passes all understanding through prayer. Be careful for nothing in everything, prayer and supplication, thanksgiving, and the peace of God which passeth all understanding shall keep your heart and mind through Christ Jesus. God's the only one who'll give you that peace and give you that rest and that time. of trouble. Schofield said this, Jeff, inward peace, the state of the soul of that believer who having entered into peace with God through faith in Christ, that's peace of the soul, hath also committed to God through prayer and supplication with thanksgiving all of his anxieties. I ain't got much formula for you this morning. But what about this? Whenever you start to worry, whenever you start to mourn, whenever you start to get down. One man said it like is when we find ourself worrying, our first action ought to be to get along with God and worship him. That was one of the three prayers mentioned, right? Adoration is what is needed. We must see his greatness and majesty of God. We must realize that he's big enough to solve our problems. Too often we rush into his presence and hastily tell him our needs when we ought to approach his throne calmly in his deepest reverence. And the first step to right prayer is adoration. And if God says that all things in your life is working for good, then you're just going to have to hold to that promise. Let the promise of God give you a peace that passes all understanding. I'm glad I've got the Holy Ghost to comfort me. I'm glad I've got wonderful peace in my life. The song that I was quoting, the hymn says this, In Jesus for peace I abide. And as I keep close to his side, there's a key. There's nothing but peace doth be tied. Sweet peace, the gift of God's love. Man, when you go through hard things in life, you've got to find a way to get that peace. You live without it. Maybe you got a bad marriage. Maybe you married wrong. All you've got is turmoil at the house. All you've got is somebody belittling you and dominating you and whatever it may be. The only way you're going to have that peace is through the comforter. We can't look at things for the world. Maybe you've got lost family. Satan's trying to drive it in your head to worry all the time about them. The only way you're going to have peace is through that comforter that he sent you. Prayer. Maybe death is on the horizon. Maybe sickness is prevalent. The only way you're going to have that peace is through the Spirit of God. Prayer. Turn it up. Turn that relationship building up. Turn that prayer up in your life. Talk to Him as much as you can. Don't you want the peace of God? There's a lot of us, a lot of folks struggling through life. May just be small things, workplace things, family issues, I don't know. You can still have that peace no matter what it is. You be the peacemaker in your family. You be the one that's got the touch of God on you. Be the one that's in tune with the Spirit of God in your life. You can have that peace. Teach it to your children. If you've got absolutely no peace, because you don't have that relationship, do you really think your children are going to learn to have that peace with God? Sir, if you don't have it, do you really think your wife, she may. A lot of times that woman is the Holy Spirit in the house. She's the stronger one. But man, what a blessing when the family unit's together and everybody's able to commune with the Spirit of God and have that peace. Won't you come pray this morning and make that the first step in getting your peace? Let's make that our vision this year for all of us to grow stronger in the Lord and have comfort and peace in the worst situations in life. Have peace where God's got us. Man, I do. Y'all know my family's going through some stuff. But even in my life, Satan fights preachers. Am I doing enough? Am I doing right? Why ain't we growing? What's going on here? Why is them guys not like... I mean, man, you just get bombarded in the mind all the time, and it steals you, robs your peace. All of us got that stuff. Somebody lost their family, something like that. And Satan knows it. That's why I said in the beginning, it's a battle of the flesh and the spirit. Let's get spiritual this morning. You do what you gotta do. I'm gonna pray, she's gonna pray. Lord, we love you. God, I pray you'd grant that peace to us. Honor your word this morning, God. You said if we pray, if we supplicate, if we adorate, God, we praise you. We ask you things. You said in that word. You'd give us a peace that passed all understanding. God, I'm praying some folks that need some peace this morning will do exactly what the Word of God said. I pray we continue to do it for the rest of this year, God, and so on and so forth. God, grant that peace to my family. Grant that peace to other families. God, it's going through the same type stuff. God, I pray You'd help us. Father, we love You. We praise You, Lord, in Jesus' name. Amen, amen. Come pray this morning, why don't you?
