Beautiful Feet
Series Romans 10
In 1 Samuel 16:7, the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the LORD does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."
Throughout the Scripture it is clear that what is precious in the sight of God is the inward person of the heart. Beauty is, at its best, neutral, and has often been a snare to men and women throughout history.
The old saying goes, "Beauty is as beauty does," meaning that true beauty is demonstrated in gracious acts - a functional beauty exemplified in the woman of Proverbs 31, which concludes with the words: "Let her own works praise her in the gates."
Specifically, the beautiful person is the one who brings glad tidings of good things; and those who preach the gospel actually get more and more beautiful. Wheras apart from the gospel, people get uglier and uglier.
Do you have beautiful feet? Do they lead you to preach the Gospel?
