God sends his son Jesus and he
is the one worthy of our worship. We read in Matthew chapter 2
verse 11, the Magi, they approach Jesus and they worship him. Now,
we're all made to worship. And throughout the history of
mankind, and as you look at even different religions, there's
worship involved. And, you know, people worship
the wrong things over the years. Worshipping the star, the sun,
the moon. And people worship money. People
worship other people. People worship their hobbies.
There's all kinds of worship, that deepest devotion and affection
that gets poured out. But really, ultimately, we're
made to worship Jesus. He's the only Savior. He's the
only Messiah. And the Magi get it right. They've
come from a long ways, representing the whole world that's designed.
Every single person is made in God's image and designed to worship
Jesus. And we have that hole in our
hearts until we find Him. And what a gift God gives us
His Son, one who's worthy to be worshiped. And as you listen
to Christmas songs this time of the year, there's rich theology
in those songs. Would you take some time to worship?
Don't compartmentalize your worship to just part of a day on Sunday,
but throughout the week. Could be in the car, could be
with no music playing. Your affection, your devotion,
sometimes your singing, your hands raised. You're worshiping
Jesus. You're made to do that. And what
a gift that we don't misspend that worship on so many other
false gods, but instead the one true Savior, Jesus Christ.
