as he was praying in a certain place. When he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples. So again, he's gathered them around him. He has gathered them around him. I don't know to what extent they prayed and he would listen to their prayers, whether he would correct them and teach. I don't know. He's gathering his disciples around him. Not just for teaching, not just for systematic theology, not just for whatever subject may be important, but to learn to pray. And of course, they've heard prayer their entire life. Their entire life they've heard prayer offered. These are Jews, they know what prayer is, but they see the Lord Jesus. And His prayer transcends anything they've ever experienced. And they're compelled to ask, Lord teach us. Teach us.
