Well, good morning, it is December the 21st, 2024, and welcome once again to our daily Bible reading. Today, Saturday morning, we are going to be pressing on through Hebrews. We're gonna finish that book, the last chapter, verses one to 25, and then we're gonna start the book of 1 Peter. 1 Peter chapter one, verse one, to chapter two, verse three. So let's get into the word today. December 21st, 2024. concluding words Hebrews 13 1 to 25 Let brotherly love continue and do not forget to entertain strangers for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels Remember the prisoners as if chained with them those who are mistreated since you yourselves are in the body also marriage is honorable among all and the bed undefiled but fornicators and adulterers God will judge Let your conduct be without covetousness. Be content with such things as you have. For he himself has said, I will never leave you nor forsake you. And so we may say boldly, the Lord is my helper. I will not fear. What can man do to me? Remember those who rule over you, who have spoken the word of God to you, whose faith follow, considering the outcome of their conduct. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Do not be carried about with various and strange doctrines, for it is good that the heart be established by grace, not with foods which are not profited, which have not profited those. who have been occupied with them. We have an altar from which those who serve the tabernacle have no right to eat. For the bodies of those animals whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin are burned outside the camp. And therefore Jesus also that he might sanctify the people with his own blood suffered outside the gate. Therefore let us go forth to him outside the camp bearing his reproach. For here we have no continuing city but we seek the one to come and therefore by him Let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to his name. But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased. Obey those who rule over you and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls as those who must give an account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you. Pray for us, for we are confident that we have a good conscience in all things, desiring to live honorably. But I especially urge you to do this, that I may be restored to you the sooner. Now may the God of peace, who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you complete in every good work to do his will, working in you what is well-pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen. And I appeal to you, brethren, bear with the word of exhortation, for I have written to you in few words. Know that our brother Timothy has been set free, with whom I shall see you if he comes shortly. Greet all those who rule over you and all the saints. Those from Italy greet you. Grace be with you all. Amen. And that was the book of Hebrews. So good job. A little notation as we begin the next book. Peter wrote this first and second letter. Peter wrote his first and second letter from Rome shortly before his death, which probably occurred in 64 AD during the persecution of Nero. 1 Peter 1, verses 1 and 2. Greetings from Peter. Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the pilgrims of the dispersion in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father and sanctification of the Spirit for obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ. Grace to you and peace be multiplied. The hope of eternal life. 1 Peter 1, 3-12. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. who according to his abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away reserved in heaven for you who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ. whom, having not seen, you love. And though now you do not see him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, receiving the end of your faith, the salvation of your souls. Of this salvation the prophets have inquired and searched carefully who prophesied of the grace that would come to you. Searching what or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ, who was in them, was indicating when he had testified before him the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow to them it was revealed that not to themselves but to us and they were ministering the things which now have been reported to you through those who have preached the gospel to you by the holy spirit sent from heaven things which angels desire to look into a call to holy living first peter 1 13 to chapter 2 verse 3 good sip of my coffee Therefore, gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ as obedient children, not conforming yourself to the former lusts as in your ignorance, but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, be holy. for I am holy. And if you call on the Father, who without partiality judges according to each one's work, conduct yourself throughout the time of your stay here in fear, knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things like silver or gold from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. He indeed was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you. who through him believe in God who raised him from the dead and gave him glory so that your faith and hope are in God since you have purified your souls and obeying the truth through the spirit and sincere love of the brethren love one another fervently with a pure heart having been born again not of corruptible seed but of incorruptible through the word of God which lives and abides forever because all flesh is as grass and all the glory of man as the flower of the grass the grass withers and its flower falls away, but the word of the Lord endures forever. Now this is the word which by the gospel was preached to you, and therefore laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, in all evil speaking, as newborn babes desire the pure milk of the word, that you might grow thereby, if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious. And that was our reading for December the 21st, 2024. Thank you all so much for joining me. Be sure to leave a comment or a reaction to this video, and I will be sure to mark that down. Again, we are in the homestretch, another week done, and then we have about a week and a half, and then we are completely done. And that is a huge, huge accomplishment. And so we praise God for that. That said, thank you again. Leave a comment, leave a reaction. Let me know, by the way, that you are up to date. Really appreciate that. And yeah, I think that's about it. I need another cup of coffee this morning. Let's go to the Lord in a word of prayer. Father in heaven, I thank you for this day. Lord, thank you for this word. Lord, we thank you that, as it says, Lord, the grass withers, the flower fades, but your word endures forever. And Lord, may we be students of your word. Lord, may we be readers of your word. And Lord, may we... Just put your word first each and every single day of our lives developing this discipline of being in the word all the time Lord we need your word. We need your guidance. We need your direction every single day and Lord I just thank you God for so many who join us and Lord those who have committed themselves to just taking on this journey, Lord, over this past year of reading the Bible every day. Lord, I pray, God, that we would be looking forward to the next year, Lord, as we continue to keep that discipline. Lord, that we would not become weary in well-doing, but, Lord, that we would just continue to stay in the Word, Lord, each and every single day. And so, Lord, I pray that for myself, pray that for my brothers and sisters now. In Jesus' matchless name, amen. Bye, everybody. Have a good day.
