First Corinthians 1551. Behold, I show you a mystery.
We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed. In a moment,
in a twinkling of an eye, at the last trump, for the trump
shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and
we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put
on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when
this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal
shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass
the saying that is written, death is swallowed up in victory. O
death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin, and
the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth
us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved
brethren, be ye steadfast unmovable, always abounding in the work
of the Lord. For as much as you know that
your labor is not vain in the Lord." Notice the words in verse
54, last word of that big verse, victory. Notice the last word
in verse number 55. Victory and notice our text verse
verse 57, but thanks be to God which giveth us the Which giveth
us the which giveth us the through our Lord Jesus Christ. We're
going to preach a little while. Thank God for victory through
Jesus. Thank God for victory through
Jesus. And because He's given victory,
we are the victor as well. We're on the winning side. You're
not losing. Hey, everybody's not dead. Your
mother-in-law, that was bad to you, didn't move in with you.
Smile for me. Hey! You're a victor in Jesus,
amen. Hey, some of y'all look like
you're drinking pickle juice, all right? It's good. Look like
you're drinking Red Bull mixed with coffee, amen. Hey, you're
victorious in Jesus Christ this morning. You're a victor, you're
triumphant, you're a conqueror, you're a winner, not in yourself,
but in Jesus Christ. He took care of the three biggest
enemies. He took care of the three biggest
enemies. death, the grave, and sin. And if He took care of them monsters,
let me tell you, He can take care of your little small problem,
I promise you. Come on now, don't let me quit
already. Those are big deals and God took care of those. He
can take care of your problem. We have victory in Jesus Christ. Let's pray together. Heavenly
Father, I pray you'd help us as we preach your word. I pray
that Jesus would get the glory. I pray I wouldn't, we wouldn't,
but your Son would get the glory. And may people be encouraged
that they are victorious in Christ. There be one that's not saved.
Lord, I pray they be saved today and come to Christ for salvation.
We pray all these things through your name and for your glory.
In Jesus name. Amen. Now victory is used three
times here. Three times. Notice their last
word in verse 54, victory. Then the last word in verse 55,
victory, and then right in the center of the verse, verse 57,
the word victory. Now, you might not believe me,
but the word victory is not used that much in Scripture, in the
whole counsel of God. Now, we use that word a lot,
and you'd think that it would be used a lot, but it's really not used
that much in Scripture. It's only used four different
times in the New Testament, and three of them are right here.
It's only used 12 different times in all the whole counsel of God.
And it's all packed in right here in this little verse right
here, this little portion right here. Three of those times are
right here. Of the four times it's used in the New Testament
and the 12 times it's used in the whole counsel of God. It's
all packed right here. Now why would it be packed right here
like it is right here? Why would it be used so much
right here in 54, 55, and 57? Why is it sitting right here?
Why is victory coming up to the top as cream comes to the top
of milk? Why is it floating right there?
Why is victory right there? It's because of the resurrection
of Jesus Christ. There's only one reason why we're
victorious, and it's not really because he died. I'm thankful
he died, but I rejoice in him justified and will be glorified
one day because he rose again. God raised up Jesus from the
dead. Amen. And that's why we sing
victory in Jesus. The context is victory because
of the resurrection. And one day our resurrection
will be demonstrated in the rapture. In a moment. In a moment, we're
going to say, oh yeah, I'm on the winning side. Oh yeah, I'm
victorious. I'm stepping on the clouds with
Jesus and my friends and loved ones. In a moment, in a twinkling
of an eye, in a moment, in a twinkling of an eye, twinkle your eye.
It'd be good for you. That way you won't fall asleep too quick.
Twinkle your eyes. Wake yourself up. At the last
trump, For the trump of God shall sound and the dead shall be raised
incorruptible and we shall be, that's you, shall be changed.
And I tell you what we're going to say when that happens, death
is swallowed up in victory. We're going to say, where's death
at? Got swallowed up at the cross and at the resurrection. Thank
God for victory through Jesus. Thank God for victory through
Jesus. The old song, Victory in Jesus,
written by Eugene Bennett. Victory in Jesus written by Eugene
Bennett. It's not an old, old song. It's
written in the early 1900s. He wrote some other songs. You
know, Eugene Bennett wrote, Everybody Will Be Happy Over There. That's
the same guy that wrote Victory in Jesus. But the reason he started
writing songs is because he had a stroke. And he couldn't sing anymore
like he once did. He sang in groups and taught
people how to sing, but he came off of a stroke and he just couldn't
enunciate things like he once did. And so he's wondering in
his life, what am I going to do now? I teach people how to
sing. I sing in concerts. What am I going to do now? And
he got his pen down, shaking, and he wrote. Victory in Jesus. Victory in Jesus. I heard, and
he talked about the time when he heard, the first time he heard
and he got saved, he said, I heard an old, old story. How a savior
came from glory. How he gave his life on Calvary,
and I like this part, to save a wretch like me. I heard about
his groaning, of his precious blood's atoning. Then I repented
of my sins and I won the victory and then he began to think about
his condition and how that he needed healing and that's when
he wrote the second verse I heard about his healing he never got
the healing of God but he realized in his healing God could still
make him victorious and he continued to write music and then he wrote
that third verse we love so much and it's alright to enjoy it
and look forward to it I heard about a mansion He is built for
me in glory. I heard about the streets of
gold beyond the crystal sea, and about the angels singing
in that old redemption story. And some sweet day, I'll sing
up there the song of victory. Brothers and sisters, listen
to me. You have victory. Child of God, you are a victor.
Now notice with me in verse 57. But thanks be to God which giveth
us the victory through. through our Lord Jesus Christ. You don't have victory through
yourself. You don't have victory through me. You don't have victory
through religion. You have victory through Christ.
Christ makes us victorious. If you're looking for victory
in any other person, any other way, you're going to be sadly
mistaken. Victory only flows through Jesus. Jesus Christ has never lost a
battle. It might've looked like we'd been behind in the game.
It might've looked like he'd been behind in the game and it
might be a loss, but Jesus Christ, excuse me, is the comeback hero.
He always wins. This world looks like it's ahead
of us. No, they're not. Jesus got the
last say in this thing. When he comes back, we'll sing
victory in Jesus. And you have victory in Jesus.
Listen to me for a little bit. In your life, it's looked like
sometimes you've been behind. It looks like you in the fourth
quarter and you're gonna lose this thing by a couple touchdowns
And then God likes to come through at the last moment and give you
the victory Because he likes to strengthen our faith in the
trial of our faith. Isn't that right? You're a winner
in Jesus. Listen to what the Word of God
says For whatsoever is born of God Overcome at the world For
whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world." The world's here
and we're on top of the world. We're beating the world. We're
kicking the world. Hey, let me tell you, the world
are the losers and God's people are the winners. Yes, don't act
like it's not that way. I love the Lord, I love the church
because that's the winning side and whatsoever is born of God
overcoming the world. But it's a sad and pathetic day
when it looks like the church would rather be like the world.
It's we're tending towards their side and playing on their court
with them. I'm on the winning side. Give
it to me again. Preach it to me again. Sing it
to me again. This is God's people, and we're
on the winning side. Whatsoever is born of God overcometh
the world, and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even
our faith. What overcomes the world? What
gives us the victory? What gives us the triumph? Even
our faith. 1 John 5 and verse number 5,
and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our
faith. Who is he that overcometh the
world? Even he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God."
How do I get on the winning side? How am I victorious in Christ
Jesus? Believe on the Son of God and
you will be born again. It's not by works of righteousness
which we have done, but according to His grace, He has saved us
and washed us. Amen? It's not by the baptism. We got one. That's what we do
after people are saved. That's for after you get born
again. You want to identify with the local church, and in the
death, burial, and resurrection of Christ, that's just a work,
but that's done after you've been saved. The baptism doesn't
save you. Your name, your religion, your
heritage, your good deeds and all of it, those don't add up
to salvation. Only by grace through faith is
a man saved. What's over is not a faith, it's
sin. We are overcoming the world by our faith. The Bible says,
and this is the confidence that we have in Him. This is great. And this is the confidence that
we have in Him. If we ask anything according
to His will, He heareth us. This is the confidence that you
have in Him. If you ask anything in His name,
He heareth us. That's the victory that we have.
We can pray and ask God and we can be sure that He hears us
when we talk to Him through the blood of Jesus Christ and not
of our own merit. He heareth us. We have that confidence. That smells like victory. That
feels like victory. That looks like victory. Why?
Because God said, He heareth us. We're not losing, we're winning. God can hear us. Whatever your
problem is, whatever your issue is, you don't have to be acting
like you've been kicked in the backside. No! You've got God
on your side, and if God be for us, who can be against us? I'm
trying to tell us all together, as one great big body for God,
we're on the victory side. He hears us when we pray. You
know, these three enemies here I mentioned, and we want to talk
about them. You've got three enemies here that are against
us. Death. Oh, death. Now, why would he
say that? Because death's a big deal, so he's gonna say, oh,
before it. Oh, death. Oh, that was some good sweet
potato casserole last week. That's something you put before
there because it's big, it's strong, it's so good, you say,
oh, that sweet potato casserole, you know? You put that before,
oh, death. Death ain't nothing to joke about.
It's the enemy of every man. It's coming to every man. It's
appointed unto man. Wants to die and then the judgment. I
don't know if it's occurred to you, but you're going to die
unless Jesus comes back before then. Oh, death. Oh, grave. They don't like the
grave. Unless you know the Lord. Oh, grave. And then sin. Those
are the three enemies that every human being has. The death, the
grave, and sin. And if God gave us victory over
those big ones, why in the world are we going to worry about all
the little ones? If God gave us the victory over those three
big ones, why are we going to worry about them little ones?
Am I going to have to get somebody over here to play an organ for
me so I'll start preaching like they do in the, you know? Why
in the world are we going to worry about the little ones when
we've got victory over them big ones, amen? If he took me out
of hell and put me in heaven, I don't think there's anything
too hard for the Lord to do, amen? That's the point. We've
got victory through Jesus. And I know we're all flesh. I
ain't trying to make anybody feel bad. We worry about the silliest
things. Most of the time we worry about the things that never do
happen. Yeah, never even came to pass trying to control something
and have management over something and make it happen a certain
way. Why don't you just lay down in Jesus and let the Lord take
care of it. He'll do a lot better than you,
I promise. He took care of those three things. We're talking about
victory. But when you talk about victory, You know, when you talk
about victory and getting to the end conquest where it's all
over and somebody wins and there's a victor and you're in a war
and you're in a fight. When you talk about victory,
you've got to kind of draw back before the victory and say, if
there's a victory, there was a war. If there was a victory,
there was bloodshed. If there was victory, there was
enemies. If there was victory, there was struggle. You get what
I'm saying? I want to tell you something,
friend. Just because we're on the winning side doesn't mean
we're not going to have some problems. It doesn't mean we're not going
to have some issues. Who's got some issues? Yeah, we've got
one that's greater than he that is in us than he that is in the
world, but we've still got issues. We've got problems. Let me tell
you something. You've got issues. This world's got issues. Church
has got issues right now. Your family's got problems. Probably
you cannot figure out. You can't figure out. Pastor,
you're figuring out. You've had one of those before.
But let me remind you, when you've got one of those problems, those
are perfect for God. When the problem's too big for
you, the problem's just perfect for our God. He can handle it. But we're all going to have problems,
but thanks be to God we got victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Jesus wins. Christ wins. He is the victorious
one. Who's ever watched a film before?
Stay with me here. Who's ever watched a film before?
And you got into it, you got into watching the film because
your favorite character was playing. Maybe it was John Wayne from
the old school people. John Wayne, he always wins. He's always going to win, but
he's got one broke leg and he's only got one shell for his single
action 12 gauge. He's only got one shell, but
somehow he kills 16 people with one bullet. You know, it always
works out that way, right? And some superhero, you're like,
how in the world did they win? But listen, you get into that
thing, you've got your popcorn and everything, and you're going
to watch that movie, favorite actor, actress, superhero, whoever
it is, and you're into that thing. And you know because you're watching
it, your favorite hero is going to win. But still, with about
15 minutes left in the three-hour film or so, you're still biting
your fingernails. And you get so nervous, you stop
eating your popcorn. And it gets down to the nitty-gritty,
and you're wondering what's going to happen. But who always wins? Oh yeah, Superman always wins.
Spider-Man always comes through. John Wayne always kills everybody,
right? Amen. Always works out that way. Let me tell you something, it
might feel like it's getting to the last scene. Are we going
to win? Is this going to work out? Your
life might feel like at times, man, what is the Lord going to
do? Let me tell you, you are on the winning side and you are
a winner and what gives you the victory is even your faith in
God. What hinders you from winning
is you stopping and you quitting on God. If you stay in the fight
of faith, you are the winner. Just hold on a couple, hey, hold
on a couple more minutes, friend. Jesus is coming back and he's
got the last say so. That's what we're trying to say.
You ever watched a football team before and said, there's no way
they're gonna win. And all the stands file out.
Everybody's leaving the stadium. The refs are not even calling
the game hardly anymore. Vegas has said, oh, they're gonna
win, you know. And they've called the game already
in the middle of the third quarter. And all of a sudden, they get
a little momentum. And somehow those crazy Gators
win the game. I'm telling you what, it can
look like at times you're on the bad side, but I want to tell
you you're on the winning side. And we fight not for victory,
we fight from victory. Let's look at these three, these
three enemies that we have. Death. Oh, death. Verse 54, last phrase, death
is swallowed up in victory. First, write down the word death. Now it says here, death is swallowed
up in victory. Swallowed up. Swallowed up. Golfed down. Golfed down. Passed
down through the mouth into the stomach. Gone. Swallowed up. What happened to that last chicken
leg? It got swallowed up. It's gone. You put 12 chicken legs out at
my house, they'll be gone real quick. Where's the last one?
In the bottom of Jackson's stomach. Gone. No chance to eat that one
unless you want to chew on the bone, right? It's gone. What
happened to death? Because of Jesus. It got swallowed
up. It's gone. It's a defeated foe. We don't have to worry about
it. Praise the Lord. Amen. Ben, do you have that assurance
in yourself today that you don't have to worry about dying? You
don't have to worry about the grave? You shouldn't have to
if you believe Jesus. It's gone. It's been swallowed
up. That's what Jesus did when he
took death from me on the cross of Calvary and he rose from the
grave by the power of God. He swallowed up death. It's gone. Swallowed up. Gulped down. What
happened to that 20 ounce? Mountain dew. Gone. There's nothing
left in it. There's nothing left to death
anymore. Jesus took it all for me and you. For he became sin
for us who knew no sin that we might be made the righteousness
of God in him. Where is it at? It's in Jesus. Death got put on Jesus. Gone. Swallowed up. What else about
death do we have here? Boy, I feel a preaching storm
coming on on this next one. Oh death, verse 55, where is
thy sting? Where's that? I can't find the
sting no more in death. I know death's reality. I know
I'm going to die one day, but I just can't find it. It just
don't bite no more. It don't hurt no more. I'm ready
to go see Jesus. Amen. Sister Sexton said to Brother
Plowman, the last thing he said to him was, I'm just ready to
go see Jesus. I just want to be with my husband.
There's no sting in it. There's no fear in death anymore.
But fear hath torment. You read it this morning. But
that don't have any fear to it anymore. It doesn't have any
torment for the child of God. Hey, talk about dying. That's
my very last triumph. Talk about dying. That's going
to see Jesus. Talk about dying. I'm going to
go see my grandpa. Talk about dying. I'll worship
better than I ever worshipped before. Talk about dying. That's
nothing to the child of God if he knows he's saved. Do you have
that assurance and that confidence in Jesus? Oh, death is nothing. The sting's been taken out. Death
is pictured here as a venomous creature. But the creature don't
got no stinger in him. No fangs, no poison. It got took
out. What is a scorpion without a
stinger? What is a hornet without a stinger?
What is a snake without fangs? Harmless. What is death since
Jesus took out the sting? Harmless. I'm good, preacher. I'm fine. I'm ready to go. I'm ready to see Jesus. Don't
weep for me. Rejoice at my funeral, please.
This is my celebration day. Amen! Hey, when you have my funeral,
would you please have church? Don't grieve over me, don't weep
over me. And I'll weep over my parents.
I'll have tears and I'll put my tears in my mama or daddy's
casket if the Lord don't come. But I promise you by the help
and grace of God, we'll have church and we'll rejoice. Be
the absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Why? Because he took the sting out
of death. Some of you are near and close.
And I look at you right now, you're not scared to die, are
you? You're not scared to die because he took the stinger out
of it, didn't he? If snakes, if you knew a snake was harmless
and didn't have no fangs and no poison, them things are pretty
cool. I'd pet it. Now you say you would,
but the only reason you say, and I'm scared of them right
now, but if you knew absolutely every one of them was harmless,
you know they didn't have no bite to them, no sting to them,
it wouldn't bother you at all. What would you do with a lizard?
Some of you are scared of lizards too. I can tell this is turning
into an after-the-sermon conversation with some of y'all right here.
Maybe that went the wrong way. Maybe I took it a little too
far in my illustration. But if you know something's harmless,
if a lion walked in here right now, we'd all be scared of him
because they got them jaws and them teeth that could rip you
to shreds. But that's just one big stuffed animal if he don't
got no teeth and don't got no bite to him. What a beautiful
creature. Come on. I'm not stretching it
too far. Death looks scary, but it don't
got no bite to it if you know Jesus as your Lord and Savior.
If you know you're going to heaven, death don't scare you. He took
the stinger out of it. I didn't know this. I don't know
much until I learned it from somebody else. I guess that's
all of us. I'm just a little behind some folks on stuff. But
I didn't know this, but I guess the bee leaves the stinger inside
of somebody. He heard about a little boy,
a little girl out playing in the park, and the bee stung the
little girl. And the little girl, screaming,
crying, you know, just going on and on. It hurt her. And so
the bee was still swarming around. And Mama was working on the little
girl's arm and told the little boy, look here, don't worry about
that bee that's flying over you. Look here, the stinger's in your
little brother right there. There it is. There's the little
stinger in his arm. That bee can't do nothing to you because
the stinger's in your little brother. And God says to you,
don't worry about dying. I put that in my son. I plunged
the sting of death in my son at Calvary, and when he rose
again, he took all the bite, he took all the sting out of
death for you. How thankful should we be at
Thanksgiving? Thanks be to God for the victory
through our Lord Jesus Christ. I'm telling you what, take it
all aside, we ought to thank and praise the Lord and lift
our hand toward heaven and say, thank you Lord for victory over
death, amen. Hallelujah for that. Now you
think about that for a minute. He's got power over death. And
then the grave. It's there, so it's got to be
more. The grave. Verse 55. O grave, where is thy
victory? There's no victory in the grave. The evil one, the devil. Oh,
I got them now. They're dead. We got Jesus now. He's dead. Ha ha ha. He rose again three days later.
Devil might, we got him now. He knows good and well he don't
got you now if they put you in the sod. Because Jesus rises,
we rise again as well. The grave, it's but a changing
room. The grave, it's but a changing
room. Who's ever been to a changing
room before? You put on different clothes, right? That's what a
changing room is for. You put on the old ones and you're
hoping the new ones are gonna fit you good, right? And you
can wear that next time. That's a changing room. You know
what the grave is? It's but a changing room to put
on your heavenly clothes. The grave is but a resting place
where we'll be entered into eternity. The preacher yesterday at the
graveside or at the chapel said, death is but the nap, just a
little nap until we go into his presence. Jesus said, I am the
resurrection and life. He that believeth in me, though
we are dead, yet shall he live. Jesus said, I am the way, the
truth, and the life. No man cometh unto the Father
but by me. He's the life. Do you know him? If you know him through the free
pardon of sin, the death doesn't mean anything to you and the
grave doesn't mean anything to you. Child of God, he is defeated,
death and the grave. Thanks be unto God for the victory
through our Lord Jesus Christ. What's next? Oh grave and then
verse 56 and the sting of death is sin and the strength of sin
is the law. Sin verse number 56 is the last
enemy against mankind. Think of sin and its sting. The
wages of sin is death. Sin brings death. And we realize
the strength of our sin by the law. Verse 56. Sin is a wrecking
ball to society. It's a wrecking ball to families
and relationships and individuals. Sin is not what the world calls
it. Sin is not what religion calls
it. Sin is not a disease. Sin is not failure. Sin is not
a bad choice. Sin is disobedience to God's
moral law, the Ten Commandments. We know to do what is right through
our conscience and the Word of God and we disobey God and we
are guilty of death and hell. Thanks be to God. Jesus Christ
gives us victory over our sin. It's not an alternative lifestyle.
It's an abomination. A man's not an alcoholic. He's
a drunkard. A man doesn't have a bad habit
that he should get rid of it. A man's a sinner. He needs to
repent and go to Christ. A man doesn't have something
that happened in his life 27 and a half years ago and that's
why he's emotionally unstable. That man is accountable before
God even though he had some things to happen in his past. Every
man is accountable before God. Do you understand that? If you
go to the psychiatrist, they say, well you are what you are
because this happened to you back then and you just need to
love yourself. No, every man is accountable
before God and every man born of woman is a sinner. I don't
care what the school system says, that every child born has rays
of sunshine and goodness in them. That's not what God said. All
have sinned and come short of the glory of God and the wages
of sin or the payment for sin is death. And if you don't accept
his payment of death on the cross of Calvary, you will die in hell
because the wage will be paid. Sin is hard, the way of the transgressors
is hard. Whatsoever a man soweth, that
shall he also reap. You can be saved, but you must
come by the terms of the judge of the whole earth. He said,
come through my son, the Lord Jesus Christ, because I put sin
on him, I put death on him, I put hell on him, and there's only
victory through the Lord Jesus Christ. He won't receive you
any other way but through the blood of the Lamb of God. Have
you been to Calvary? Well, you can have victory if
you have. Now, why are we seen so sinful? Because of the law.
The strength of sin is the law. Sin is seen stronger because
of the law. The law is a schoolmaster to
bring us to Christ. If people don't have a knowledge
of the Word of God, a knowledge of even the Ten Commandments,
a knowledge of God's book, and that light is taken away from
them, they do not see that they are exceedingly sinful. They
think that they're fine, they think that they're all right.
But the law of God and the word of God elaborates man's sinfulness. The law says that a man's a sinner. But, look at verse 57. Let's read it again, verse 55.
O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
The sting of death is sin. and the strength of sin is the
law. But, I like that, don't you? But thanks be to God, which
gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Hallelujah. Thanks be to God,
he gives us victory over sin, the grave, and death through
Jesus. But that word, but, in verse
17 is a word of reverse effect. Sin was against us. The grave
was against us. Yeah! Death was against us. The grave was against us. Sin
was against us. But God. But grace. But mercy. But God. Victory through our Lord Jesus
Christ when you see that word, but in verse number 57 or anywhere
else it switches everything It reverses everything to the positive
everything was against us sin was against us The grave was
against us all of it was against us hell was upon us, but thanks
be unto God for our Lord Jesus Christ I'm glad the switch was
made I'm glad the switch was made. Whoever got the switch
made in your life, say amen. How old were you when the switch
was made? How old were you when the switch was made? When Christ,
you realized that he was the answer to death, to hell, to
sin, to the grave, and he conquered those enemies for you. If he's
conquered those enemies for him, lift up your hand and say amen.
He gave you the victory, and if he can do that, nothing else
is too big for him. You think about these things
that are against us that send us to eternal hell, gives us
a miserable life, a life not worth living. Sin will do that
to you. I know people that are in shackles
of sin. They're trying to fulfill themselves
with things of this world and they spin around and around and
around and around and they can't seem to be happy. Well, they
don't have Christ. Christ will satisfy you. Christ will give
you joy unspeakable and full of joy. I'm telling you, He'll
satisfy your deepest needs. But we've got it. And if He gave
you victory over death, the grave, and sin, He can take care of
all the other problems. We've got victory. You think
about the bill you've got and the money you've got to get together
for whatever you need. What is $515.27 to God who conquered
hell? Tell me what a couple thousands
of dollars is to the God of heaven and earth who took sin for you
and gave you victory. Tell me what cancer is to God. Come on now. Tell me what your
disease is to God. Is there anything too hard for
the Lord? Believe God. Just say, in the name of Jesus,
I'm trusting you to heal me, Lord. In the name of Jesus, you
know what I need as a mom, a dad, or a provider for my home. You
know I need this, Lord. Or I even want this for your
glory, for your glory's sake, not for my own. I want this.
You believe it in Jesus' name. You're a victor in Christ Jesus.
I'm trying to get some people to understand that we are victors
in Christ Jesus. We are winners. What is it? A bill, cancer, disease. What
is that habit you got to Jesus? What is that addiction you've
got to Jesus? You don't think He can give you victory over
that? What is that problem and that sin? Let me tell you something.
He took that sin and that addiction and that habit, and He put it
right on His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, and it's there. You just
got to claim the victory and walk in victory every day. He
can give you victory over that sin. That's why He died for it. I'm looking at some people right
now. You had those problems in your past, but you don't have
them no more. Amen? They're gone. They got golfed
up by Jesus. They're gone. You don't struggle
with those things anymore. How come? Well, I went to this
program. No, you went to Jesus. And Jesus
gave you victory over those things. I'm trying to tell you whatever's
against you today, whatever your problem is, it's not too hard
for the Lord. You got a wayward child? That's
a hard one. Wayward family members, that's
a tough one. A living dog's better than a
dead lion. A living dog is better than a
dead lion. As long as someone's breathing, there's still hope.
So you don't know when they've crossed the line. Exactly. Exactly,
I don't know, only God knows. I might think, but God knows.
If somebody's a livin' and somebody's a breathin', there's still hope,
there's victory in Jesus. You keep prayin' for Him, you
keep believin' God for Him, and don't cut loose on your family
at Thanksgiving, by the way. This might take a little while,
but you're still gonna be here, amen? You love your family at Thanksgiving.
You love your children, and children love your mama and daddy. Don't
be the troublemakers. Come on now, love them in the
name of Jesus, even if it's hard. Don't be that problem. Don't
burn your bridges with folks. There's some people that burnt
their bridges with folks and they wish they never did and
now they got nobody to love them because you had to have it your
way or the highway and you couldn't meet at a certain time on a certain
day. You don't got no family and got no friends and look at
it now. Was it worth it? No. I've seen good-meaning people
act that way and they've lost the people that are most precious
to them because they were just plain selfish. We love people as they are, even
if they're wayward, even if they're away, we love them. And if we're
the only people to believe God for those people, we will be
the last people to believe God for those people. Because we
believe that Jesus Christ can give every man victory over sin,
death, hell, and the grave. He does bring victory. Did he
bring victory to you? Say amen. Now, thanks be unto
God, which always causes a triumph in Christ. What I'm trying to
tell you, it doesn't matter the habit. It doesn't matter the
problem you've got. It doesn't matter the financial
need, the health need, whatever is stacked up against you. You
don't have to cut tail and run. You can go straight to the throne
of God, and you need to believe God for that, and you can trust
God for that, and you can see God do exceedingly, abundantly
above all that you can even ask or think. We need people like
that to believe God nay in all things. We are more It didn't
say nay in all things. We are conquerors nay in all
things We are more than conquerors through him that loved us Revelation
chapter 7 is heaven's song says blessing and glory wisdom and
thanksgiving and honor and power and might be unto our God forever
and ever and Right now we're just saying from the bottom of
our soul, thanks be to God which gives us the victory through
our Lord Jesus Christ. Aren't you thankful that you
got victory? He already took care of the big stuff. If you
know He took care of that big, big stuff, that eternal stuff,
that large stuff, that huge stuff, if you know He took care of that,
don't you know He can take care of anything else? Raise your
hand. Who's got a problem in here? Nobody wants to admit it
because we don't like to be honest in church. But I guarantee you've
got a problem. You've got an issue. And it's
not too hard for the Lord. Some of you are thinking, I could
never start over with God. I've done too much. I've been
this place. I've done that thing. Don't you
know that God's got a start up for you, amen? In His grace you
can start over, you can live again, you can breathe again,
you can be happy again. God can give you a new start.
Some of you say, I never did have a start. Good, you can start
today and you can get in Christ and you can get in the church
and you can believe God for it. What is our victory? Our victory
is even our faith. And right now you might just
say, man, I haven't been believing God, I've been doubting Him,
but all the time I've got the victory in Him. Just take a deep
breath and say in your spirit, Lord, I believe Thee. Give me
faith. Remember the disciples had to
say this? Increase our faith. Lord, increase our faith because
we've already got the victory. You've already got the winning.
Now we're moving forward in faith. Every head bowed, every eye closed.
We have victory. Let's stand. You've got victory. I don't know what's stacked up
against you. I don't know what's driving your mind into shreds.
I don't know what problem you brought in here this morning.
Happy Thanksgiving. Happy Thanksgiving! Thanks be
to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
It doesn't matter what it is. You'll have something new tomorrow,
you'll have something new next week, but thanks be to God, He
giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. It doesn't
matter what's against us. We're conquerors in Christ Jesus. Say, Brother Justin, I got something.
I got something, and I need victory for it. I need victory for it.
I don't want to be discouraged. I don't want to give God a bad
testimony of His namesake, and I got to have victory in something.
Raise your hand. I got to have victory for it.
Anybody? Yep, there you go. I have victory for it. We all
face things. May God help us to believe God
for victory. Heavenly Father, thank you for
this time of worshiping you. We bless your name and thank
your name that we are victorious in you. You took care of all
the big things. You took care of death, hell,
the grave, and sin. You took it all upon yourself
with the cross of Calvary and rose again so we could sing and
shout victory in Jesus no matter what. We're thankful for that
and we bless your name for that. And Lord, I pray that our problems
that we have, it might be too big for us, but it's not too
big for you. I pray that we trust you with
all of our heart. Your problem's not too big for
God. It's too big for you, but it's not too big for God. She's
going to play. You come forward and say, I'm
going to leave this problem that seems so big, I'm going to leave
it with Jesus. I'm going to leave it with Him. My feelings, my
issues, I'm gonna leave it, there you go. I'm not gonna leave it
at my seat. I'm gonna leave it at Jesus.
