Man-made Holydays Are Sinful

1. Jeroboam's devised feast day (1 Kings 12:32-33).

i. Jeroboam following (bad) precedent.
ii. Jeroboam's sin was idolatry, but re false worship, rather than false gods.
iii. Jeroboam designed an imitation.
iv. Jeroboam's motives and appeal were selfish and pragmatic.
v. Jeroboam's devised feast day part of his idolatrous, sinful system.

2. God's commanded Holy days.

i. The weekly Sabbath is permanent.
ii. The OT calendar was commanded but is now finished.

3. Manmade holydays.

i. If not commanded, it's not allowed = chief reason.
ii. Pagan imitation forbidden.
iii. Popish innovation to be rejected.
