Open this text to us this morning, that we might have great delight in you. And that your church, through delighting in you, would be obedient and faithful to all that you've commanded. In Jesus' name I pray, amen. You may be seated, put into Marcion. This is one of my favorite times of the year. It's one of my favorite times of the year. And some are asking the question, am I really saved? And some are wavering in their faith. In the middle of that situation, The writer of Hebrews does one thing. I want to set Christ before you. The only thing that will keep you. The only thing that will keep you strong. Christ set before you. But it's also in times like this time of year, that we see an indifference to Christ. Many today are so worried, and many might even not come this morning. Well, I'm preparing for our meal this afternoon. Forget Christ and the reason we celebrate. We have to worry about other things. Some, in preparing for next year, have canceled church on Christmas Day. Some, because this year, Christmas is on the 26th, have canceled their services. Why? I would submit to you this morning one thing. Christianity today, the Christianismo hoy, is about the status of people rather than the status of Christ. Because he is our hope. But we don't need a reason to do so. We sing a hymn. I need no other argument. I need no other plea. It is enough that Jesus died and that he died for me. And there's some kind of joy that rises up in you. Or maybe you bought your own gift. And you said, there's great joy in that. I really wanted this. It's all gonna go away. Todo se va a pasar. It's a term that would distinguish us as family. In the New Testament it's a term used for the church. It's a term we should use with caution. It's a term we want to use with caution, precaution. Jesus said this, Jesus said this, my brothers are the ones who do the will of my father. My brothers are the ones who do the will of my father. This term shows that there's a bond between believers. This term shows that there's a connection between believers. There's a bond that unites us here this morning. How many different countries are here today? In the providence of God, we're here together. For what reason? Oh, we all like the same football team. Or we all like the same soccer team. Or maybe we all like the same president. Or maybe we just met at the coffee shop and we're just all friends. The only thing that joins us this morning is Christ. Our commonality is Christ. And we're to consider ourselves family. Now the second adjective he puts to this, is the Greek word, agias, is the palabra en griego, agias, or agoi, in the plural, or agoi in the plural. and that these people are sanctified. Este gente son sanctificado, that they're set apart, estan apartados, that they're different from the world. Que son diferentes del mundo. They're not just brothers. No solamente son hermanos. They live outside of the world. Ellos viven afuera del mundo. They are separate. They do not love the things of the world. Because you can't. Then he says this. and they share in a heavenly calling. Some participantes that they walk and they share in this heavenly calling. Ellos comparten este llamamiento celestial. Many people today said, I just want to know the will of the Lord. And it's like it's a trick or a mystery. The joy of the church is we have one job. Just to consider Christ. Study him. And take everything that you learn. And apply it to your life. That's what comes in the next verses. You consider Christ and then you live like him. I'm telling you this morning, church. You can hope for anything in the world. And it will leave you dry.
