When God shows His children the pathway to life; of faith and obedience

When God shows His children the pathway to life… that pathway… is the pathway of faith and
obedience:

1. Naomi confesses the way of the Lord
2. Ruth appeals to the promises of the Lord
3. Boaz submits to the command of the Lord
   Questions to think about during the sermon:
   Point 1:
   What does the Bible say about marriage? What does the Bible say – in particular – about Ruth getting
   married?
   When we make decisions, which two different kinds of things should we consider?
   Why does Naomi encourage Ruth to wash and perfume herself, and put on her best clothes? Which spiritual
   reality is Naomi speaking about?
   Point 2:
   In what sense does Ruth challenge Boaz?
   Is Boaz the kind of man that Ruth wants to marry? Does Ruth love him? Why does Ruth ‘propose’ to Boaz?
   Point 3:
   There doesn’t seem to be any real romance between Boaz and Ruth. Why is this important?
