Acts chapter 2. Now, we went through a lot of detail on this chapter, and by now, you should know, according to the Bible, that this is a biblical saying, but all scripture is for you to profit from, or all scripture is profitably for you, but all scripture is not to you doctrinally. Now, I'm going to get right into something here in just a little bit. We get there and show you that you cannot apply with a sane, sound mind things that aren't to you doctrinally and still keep a sound, sane mind. Now, you've got this chart right here and this chart helps you. And that's what we go over. What we learn is stuff so you can help other people. It's not so we can say we know the Bible better than anyone else. But y'all, I'm just going to tell you. I'm not trying to be mean about it. Most preachers, they do not read their Bible and most people in general do not read their Bibles. So you talk to some of these preachers and you get guys like David Platt and he writes a book called Radical and in that book he tells people basically... I mean I've read the book. You just go read it for yourself if you want to, but I'll save you time and a headache and tell you it's false doctrine. But he tells you you're not a real disciple of Jesus Christ if you don't sell all you have and give to the poor. and go out and pretty much be a missionary. Now look, does he have Bible verses for that? Yeah, but it's not to you. Guess what? According to the Bible, somebody has to work. That's what the Bible says. Okay, now are there Bible verses that teach you that people are supposed to sell all they have and give to the poor? Yeah. But you know what? That's the kingdom program. That's prophecy program. Now you have two programs in your Bible. You have a prophecy program which is to the nation of Israel. And it's an earthly program. And the Gentiles are prophesied to be blessed through Israel's rise. The nation of Israel is very important all through the Bible. And the Lord's not finished with the nation of Israel. He's just not dealing with them right now. You get all these people, every time a war comes up over in Israel, they, well, what's God doing over in Israel? Right now, God does not see Jew nor Gentile. And when you get saved, there's neither Jew nor Gentile in the body of Christ. Okay, so one of these days, the dispensation and the grace of God will be over with and God will go back and finish up His dealings with the earthly Jewish program, Israel program. And guess what? Later on, whenever the kingdom comes back in, the Gentiles, as it was prophesied, will be blessed through the rise of Israel. But right now we're being blessed, and Paul explains it in Romans 11, how we're being blessed through Israel's fall. So right now their kingdom is being postponed. So whenever we're reading Acts chapter 2, your apostle hasn't been saved yet. You're in Acts 2, and they're still preaching the kingdom to the believing flock. And anybody who would believe that message of the kingdom, that's the people who would repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. What? For the remission of sins. Do you have to be baptized for the remission of sins? No. I'm baptized into the body of Christ by the Spirit of God the moment I place my faith and trust in Jesus Christ. And that's how you got saved. Now how do you know what's going on? He's calling the believers out of a nation. Now watch what he says in Acts 2 verse number 40. He says, And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation. That's what the Bible said. Save yourselves. You know what your apostle tells you today? In Ephesians 2.8.9 he says, For by grace are you saved through faith and that not of yourselves. He says save yourselves right here. All the Bible, all the Bible's not directly addressed right to you. You can't just go to the Bible and get any verse you want to and say that's directly me. This verse and this chapter is how so many denominations are led astray and they say, well man, I'm in Acts 2. You know what, I just tell them this quick. Acts 2 is not doctrinally for me today. Paul was my apostle and you know what? Paul tells me I'm saved by grace through faith alone. Okay, well all it is is you just tell them something like that whenever they a lot of them say what what are you talking about? Because they they don't read it as face value the untoward generation We talked about was prophesied in Deuteronomy chapter 32, but I want to I want to show you something else about this generation look in Let's look at Matthew chapter 3 right quick We'll look over a few. There's so many of them I could spend the whole time on this, but I'm trying to get you to another verse here. Matthew chapter 3. So here's John the Baptist. And he's not a Baptist like people are today. People getting this, John the Baptist was the first Baptist. No, he was not. John the Baptist wasn't even in the body of Christ. I'm telling you, people just make stuff up, man. John the Baptist is preaching a message of repentance and he's preaching the kingdom of heaven in Matthew chapter 3 verse 2. Watch what he says in verse 2. In saying, repent you for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. That means it was within reach. And it was at that time. But of course, y'all know they reject it. But watch what he says in Matthew chapter 3. And look down there at verse 7. It says, but when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation, generation, people, of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come." He's telling them, you know what the wrath to come is? The tribulation is the wrath of God. And he's saying, you're a false and wicked generation. You know what? Whenever they're preaching in Acts 2, this is after the cross, and the Lord's oriented them according to Luke 24. He spent 40 days with them, giving them more information on what's happened since the cross. And you know what Simon Peter's preaching? A continuation of John the Baptist's ministry. Only thing that's different is he's got new information on the cross that the Lord's let him know. Now, you know what's going on right here? He said in Acts chapter 2, save yourself from this untoward generation. He's preaching to the same group of people that John the Baptist was preaching to. It's a wicked generation of people and he's saying, hey, you believers come out of that generation because here they are, the whole leaders of Israel were all corrupt. And they had set up their self a false system that had some Bible verses but they corrupted the thing. That's why in our Sunday study in Mark chapter 7 we were looking at how they had made the Word of God a non-effect of their tradition. So you know what they had done? They were taking scriptures about washing that had to do with the priests and putting them down on everyone else saying, not only do you gotta wash your hands, you gotta wash your cups and your pots and your tables and all this type of stuff. And if not, you're not following along with us. They had added things. So you know what people do the same thing today? You know why? You know how they add things? The Apostle Paul tells you, you are not under the law, but you are under grace. So people take mail that's directly addressed, and they've got Bible verses, and they've got things that's directly addressed to the nation of Israel, and they try to pull them over into the mystery program, and that's how they put you in bondage of the law. It goes on all the time. Instead of teaching grace-giving, which you know what? Statistics show that if you teach them according to the Bible that people give out of the abundance of their heart and not out of necessity, but God loveth the cheerful giver, and give because you want to, not because you have to, they'll actually give more. But you know what preachers do? If you don't tithe, I've been to them meetings, if you don't tithe, bless the Lord, you wonder why your car's breaking down. Oh man. You know what's happening? They have a Bible verse. Malachi says, you're cursed with a curse. You've robbed God. That's in the Bible. But it's not addressed to you. That's under the law. You're cursed with a curse. You know what Paul says? The Lord Jesus Christ took our curse for us. I don't have a curse. I mean, you've got all that thing. You have to get that down. Because once you know where you're at and who your apostle is, You can just check things people say and say, okay, you're just pulling something from the prophecy program over in our program. And just like I talked to some Jehovah's Witnesses outside our door the other day, and you know what I just told them real kindly? I said, ma'am, yeah, you got a whole bunch of Bible verses there. And I said, all that stuff's true, it's just, problem is, it's just not addressed to you. She said, so you don't think we're living in a kingdom right now? I said, not the earth, the kingdom, no, ma'am. If so, it's not being run too well. You know what she don't realize? It's so sad. I showed her all these things. She said, I've never seen anything like that before. It's so sad that they're looking at all this stuff. They say, you don't think we're going to go through that? I said, no ma'am, I'm not going to be here. I'm going to be gone when the Lord Jesus Christ raptures the body of Christ out of here. And guess what's going to happen? Then he's going to go back to dealing. He's going to finish out his time scale of Daniel 70 weeks. with the children of Israel. He's going to finish that thing out because there's seven years left of it. He's going to finish that thing out and bring in a new covenant with them. So all you have to do is just tell them, hey, that part's not for me. And Paul's my apostle and he says, I'm saved by grace through faith alone. You know what they'll do? They'll strip every gear they got because they're thinking, I've never heard of such. But you know what they don't want to talk to you about? Take them over to Romans 4-5 where it says, it's not of works, but to him that believeth. That's what it says. It's that simple. You know what? Salvation is so simple, people are stumbling over it because they're jumbling stuff up that has to do with Israel. And this whole thing, he's saying, save yourself from an untoward generation. Here's the generation spoken of in the gospel. I'll give you one more before we go back. Look at Mark chapter 8. Mark chapter 8. Mark chapter number 8. Look at Mark 8 and verse number 38. Mark 8, 38. I'm just showing you verse by verse. We're not making this stuff up but these are things you can mark in your Bible and you'll be able to help people because one of the biggest chapters that people pull false doctrine out of is Acts chapter 2. And so you need to know what he's addressing. In Mark 8, verse 38, it says, Now you know you can't preach that for today. There is something, just because you're ashamed, let's just say you were ashamed to hand out a gospel tract or something like that. I've heard people say, well, you're ashamed of the Lord, He's going to be ashamed of you. No, He's not. That's not mail addressed to you today. I mean, He's saying when He comes back, when in the second coming, that's what He's talking about. You got people that pull things and they put their self in so much bondage that it's not necessary. He's talking about a generation that has to do with a believing remnant of Israel and he's saying, look, anybody who believes will come out and they'll get this baptism and they'll be publicly identified with the Messiah that the whole nation has rejected. They have to do things publicly. You don't have to do nothing publicly. You can get saved sitting right out there in your car and everything else. And anybody that don't like it, I don't care what they think. You've got a nation of people now and they want to do things the way they want to do. And they don't even care if you give them a Bible verse. I'm not mad, I'm just saying. It'd be one thing if I was just making stuff up, but when you show things out of the Bible and say, okay, you're going to take this verse. What about this other verse? If they're going to say Acts 2 is for you doctrinally, go back to Acts 2. Let me jump ahead just a second. I'm going to read a few verses and I might back up. So you see that generation he's saying, come out. Alright, verse number 41 says, Then they that gladly received his word were baptized, and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. You know what's interesting? I've got to stop and chase this little rabbit. You go back to Exodus And when you study that thing in Exodus, when the law started there, you know how many souls that got killed there whenever they were transgressing and the law had started over there with Moses? It said about 3,000 souls. That's amazing how that thing, all those things. I'll tell you another interesting thing. The law started with a man's face shining. Here's Moses, he goes up on the mountain with God and his face is shining. He comes down, he has to put a veil over his face. Now you know what? Stephen, whenever there's stonings, because that's Israel's last chance to receive that message. And Stephen is full of the Holy Ghost. You know what it said? His face shone. like an angel. You know what? In their dispensations they had angels all about and everything else. That was just part of that thing. And His face shone. So you know what you have? That dispensation law starting with a man's face shining and ended with a man's face shining. That's amazing how that Bible is put together. It's little stuff like that. Y'all, I'm going to tell you something. We're reading a supernatural book. A man did not put that stuff together. There's no way they could have figured that, especially with it being over... it was written over a period of about 1,800 years, somewhere along in there. You can't do it. Alright, so let me show you this. And it says in verse 42, and they continue steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine. You know what's part of the apostles' doctrine? Selling all you have and giving to the poor. giving alms. That's the apostles doctrine. The apostle Paul was called out. He was not one of the twelve with a special apostleship and the Lord appeared to him from heaven with a different ministry. That's why Paul, you read Corinthians, he's having to defend his apostleship so much. He said, you think I'm not an apostle? Look at all these things. Why? Because they could not understand the change and he's having to explain it to them. All right, and it says, in fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers, and fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles. We don't do signs and wonders today. And it says, and all that believe were together, watch this, and had all things common. All right, if Acts 2 is for you today, and you say, I'm gonna do everything in Acts 2, well, let's just implement communism. That's what they did. Let me show you another one here, which you know we're not going to. I'm just showing you how ridiculous it would be. Look at Acts chapter 4, verse number 34, and as you're turning there, I'm just going to remind you. Why were they doing this? At the time They knew nothing about the doctrines of grace that we do. And at the time the kingdom was at hand, so had the tribulation came, which it was prophesied, and the Lord was going to take them through that time of Jacob's trouble, they wouldn't have had to have any possessions. Why? Because in their program they could pray and God would give them bread from heaven. They wouldn't have to take the mark of the beast or anything. Why? Because just like He fed them over in the wilderness way back in Exodus, He's saying, you can pray and I will give you bread and I will take you through that time. You won't have to have a dime. Why? Because in a few years, whenever He comes back, He's going to implement the kingdom and He's going to give them everything that they had, all the stuff, the treasures they had treasured up in heaven. He's literally going to bring that city down and put it down on earth and give them the kingdom. That's what Peter said. Peter said, man, we left everything for you. What shall we have? And he said, man, you're going to have, I forget how much, like a hundredfold, something like that, wasn't it? Well, you know what that is? He's telling Peter, he said, I know you quit your job. Every one of them, they said they forsook all. Peter had a successful fishing business. And he left everything and went and followed the Lord. Today, keep your business, folks. Keep working. That's what you're supposed to do. There's nothing wrong with working. But in that program, when those things are at hand, he says, look, the Lord's coming back soon and he's literally going to rule the reign from earth. You don't need those things. Sell them. You know what we're going to study later on? You know what this church at Jerusalem sold everything and they had everything in common? And you know what happens later on? You remember reading Romans? Paul says, hey, we had to take up a collection to send it back to the church in Jerusalem. Why? Because you know what happened? The kingdom was postponed and the Lord issued in a new apostle and the dispensation of grace and that church was poor. So they had to send them all those things because those things were put on hold for a later time period. You're living in a pause. He put a pause on the prophecy dispensation, and you're living in a pause, and as soon as you're out of here, He's going to pick right back up where you left off. The only thing is the Hebrews through Revelation reorients them on the change of the law. That's what He said. Whenever you're reading a book of Hebrews, that's not to you doctrinally. That's telling the Jews what happened about the cross and letting Israel know everything they need to know about the cross. Telling them, hey, the Lord Jesus Christ is better than that old covenant. He's ready to issue in a new covenant with them. We're not part of any covenants and promises. That's them. That's like I've had people, one of my most biggest questions other than Acts 2 question that people ask me is Hebrews 6. What does it mean if they shall fall away, God shall renew them to repentance? Y'all ever read that and wondered about it? It's not your mail. I can't fall away. I hope every one of you behave well and the Bible said you got good works you should do and you should do them. That don't mean you always do them. But if you strip a gear today and you don't serve the Lord Jesus Christ another day from here on out, you're still just as saved as you can be. And you know what? I can't help it that some people don't like that and some people take that and say, well, I'll just do whatever I want to. Well, if that's your attitude, that's fine. But if you're saved, you're saved. You're sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise. You know what I've learned about a lot of pastors or a lot of preachers? They say they believe you've got eternal security. But a lot of them really don't believe it. You know what I know that Apostle Paul teaches? Apostle Paul never said that Demas was lost. You know what he said? Demas hath forsaken me. He left the work is what he did. Whenever you check the verses of like what he did when Mark left the work. He left the work and stopped working. And Paul said, hey, he's forsaken me. But he never said he was lost. He didn't forsake the Lord. Why? You can't forsake the Lord when the Lord Jesus Christ is on the inside of you. That ought to give you peace. Why? Because what God has given you, He's given you. It's a gift. I didn't do enough good works to get my salvation. I can't do enough bad works to lose my salvation. You know what that tells me? A Christian, once you fall in love with the Lord, the more you love Him, the more you want to serve Him. I could close my Bible and never preach another message and still be just as saved tomorrow as I am today. But I preach because I want to, because I enjoy studying the Bible and I enjoy seeing other people learn the Bible. But my salvation is not based on me preaching the message. I'm telling you all that stuff because look, this thing over here, look at Acts 4, look at verse number 30, should be around 34. Let's see, 434. Yeah, look at this. It says, Neither was there any among them still in this kingdom church. See, a church is called out of sin. This is the kingdom church. Neither was there any among them that lacked, for as many as were possessors of land or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold, and laid them down at the apostles' feet, and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need. Look at that. That's just amazing to me. What's that? That's that kingdom church. But you know what the Apostle Paul says, if a man won't work, neither should he. Now, I've got a thing that I pulled up on my phone because I left, I pulled it up on the way over here. But have any of y'all ever studied the Thanksgiving message? You know, you got, here they come on the Mayflower over here. Let me read this quote right here from Mr. Bradford. All right, he says, a community of property was forced to breathe much confusion and discontent and retard much employment which would have been to the general benefit. For the young men who were most able and fit for service objected to being forced to spend their time and strength in working for other men's wives and children without any recompense. The strong man or the resourceful man had no more share of food, clothes, etc. than the weak man who was not able to do a quarter the other could. This was thought injustice. The age and graver men who were ranked and equalized in labor, food, clothes, etc. with the humbler and younger ones thought it some in dignity and disrespect to them. As for men's wives who were obliged to do service for other men, such as cooking, washing their clothes, et cetera, they considered it a kind of slavery, and many husbands would not, he says, brook it, that's an old expression, they wouldn't take it. But what they did is, when they came over here, they were reading things like Acts 2, and they said, you know what we need to set up? We just need to have everybody put everything in common, And man, we'll just have a form of what we call communism, and you know what he's saying? It did not work. But he says later on in this paper, this comes from William Bradford's journals, he said this, at length after much debate, the governor with the advice of the chief among them allowed each man to plant corn for his own household. So every family was assigned a parcel of land according to the proportion of their number. This was very successful. It made all hands very industrious so that much more corn was planted than otherwise would have been by any means the governor or any other could devise and saved him a great deal of trouble and gave for far better satisfaction. He goes on to talk about it. You know what that Thanksgiving has to do with? They had so much once they started having private property and everyone was able to do for themselves and work hard that they had enough for the Indians there. I don't know if any of y'all has ever read that, but I had never read that up until recently. You know what that is? That has to do with people probably well-meaningly saying, we're going to implement this Bible verse, but you know what they don't realize? They were baptized with the Holy Ghost over in Acts 2 for power. And that baptism with the Holy Ghost gave them the power to be able to implement the things God was telling them. That's what you read in Acts 1. But we're not baptized with the Holy Ghost for power. I'm baptized by the Spirit into the body of Christ. 1 Corinthians 12. That's a different thing. So, you gotta keep that thing straight, and if you ever keep that straight, that'll help you so much to understand, how were they able to do this? Because they had God giving them the power to be able to do that. Let me tell you something today, that thing does not work. Why? You say, well, what about people being full of the Holy Spirit and stuff like that? First of all, that's not what He's empowering us to do. You know what He's empowering us to do? You can help people, but it's based on working. That's what that thing has to do with. So God's just not dealing in that way today. So it says in Acts 2 in verse 44, And all that believed were together and had all things common. So now you know what you're reading here. And sold their possessions and goods and parted them to all men as every man had need. Now when you read that, now do you understand why the old boy got killed over in Acts chapter 5? He comes up there and they're talking about selling their land and he lied about it. And Peter, he's got power from the Lord to be able to understand who's lying and who's not. And Peter said, you've lied to the Holy Ghost. And you know what happened? That man dropped dead right there. Why? Because he's in that program and Peter is the ruler over that thing. And you know what he said? He got Peter in charge and he said, hey, by the power of the Holy Spirit, Peter was able to remit and retain sins. You know what that means? The kingdom was at hand and he's saying, hey, if anybody's not gonna do right that's in the kingdom, you're able to kick them out of there. That stuff is serious. You know what? You cannot do that today. You get verses like this right here, and a lot of these people say, well, this is talking about the body of Christ today, and it talks about all things in common and stuff. It's amazing to me to listen to people like Benny Hinn, Creflo Dollar. They'll obey all this other stuff, but when it comes to that part, they're like, no, I don't know about that one part right there. No, if you're gonna take one part of it, you gotta take all of it. I'm just showing you can show, you can see who the hypocrites are once you get down in the verses. And watch this, it says in verse 45, "...and sold their possessions and goods and parted them to all men as every man had need, and they continuing daily with one accord." Where at? In the temple. That's what the Lord did all through the Gospels. The Lord's in the temple. Matthew 20, 21, 13, Luke 19, 46 and 47. All these things in the temple. You know what the Bible tells you, 2 Corinthians? You are the temple today. You're the temple of the Holy Ghost right now. Your body is where the Holy Spirit of God is indwelling. And He has performed a spiritual circumcision on you. The Jews have fiscal circumcision. You have spiritual circumcision where He cuts your flesh away from your soul so that the sins of your flesh doesn't touch your soul. And you know what He said? He can literally dwell with you. Just like in the Millennium, He's going to dwell with them in that Millennial Temple that Ezekiel talks about. Well, with you, He's dwelling with you. And He never leaves. Why? because the sins of my flesh never touch my soul. Otherwise, I'd be in trouble, man. I mean, you'd be in so much trouble giving thanks and all things. I've told you before, man, that's some hard stuff right over there. I tell you what, if you think you could keep your salvation, you go home and read Philippians chapter 4. I'll just quote. See if you do this. Now thank God you've got eternal security. Think on whatsoever things are true. You watch the news, all you're doing is watching lies all day long. They lie all day long. Honest, there you go again. You better cut the TV off. Just, well, better cut the TV off. Lovely, better cut the TV off. True, honest, just, pure, lovely. You know what? Good report. You know what people do? So-and-so was killed, so-and-so. Five murdered over here, and this over here, and we're like, and you sit over there and think, we're just wonderful people. You know, we're all just going straight against the Bible. Thank the Lord that you are sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise. If there be any virtue, if there be any praise. You ever notice how people always love some bad news? He says, think on these things. How are you going to think on these things? That's whenever you start yielding to the Lord and saying, look, I'm going to go by what the Bible says and not think my thoughts. I want to think the thoughts of the Word of God. But you know what? It takes putting down that flesh nature and going by the Word of God. So you know what, we have an inner accountability that they don't have in other dispensations. Look, you've got things that are harder on you than they had because you have the Holy Spirit in you and you don't have any excuse. Well, again, thank the Lord for eternal security. Otherwise, I'd lose. I wouldn't trust my best two seconds getting to Him. That which is not of faith is sin? With faith come by hearing Him by the Word of God. How many times do you make, how many times in your life, let's just say lately, have you made a decision and you didn't even check what the Bible said on? All right, well the Bible says in Romans 14, that which is not of faith is sin. Again, thank the Lord for eternal security. I'm just telling you, we just pass over these things and he's talking to these people here and here they are. They've got things that you don't have to do. Verse 47, praising God and having favor with all the people and the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved. Now, a church is a called out assembly. You've got, let me show you, the word church in the Bible does not always mean church, the body of Christ. Turn to Acts chapter 7. Acts chapter 7. Now, there's all kinds of words that you have to look at what dispensation you're in and you have to look at the context. Like the word saved. Just because the Bible says the word saved don't always mean it means saved from hell like we are. There's one woman over in Timothy, he says she'd be saved and childbearing. Well, she's talking about if she'll behave with the Lord the way the Bible says, she can keep her testimony. Paul tells Peter, he said, save thyself. He's talking about his testimony in that ministry over there. Paul talks about in Philippians, he said, your prayer shall turn to my salvation. What's he talking about? He said, y'all keep praying for me, I'm about to get out of prison. So you have to check the context on the thing, okay? In Luke chapter 1, and like I said, I'm just making reference here to show you this thing about the church. They're talking about being saved from their enemies. From verse 69 all the way down to 74. That's the salvation they're looking for. Well, I'm saved from hell. You have to look at the word baptism. There's a fire baptism. There's a baptism of suffering. There's a water baptism that John preached. Then you've got a baptism that Peter preached. You've got a baptism with the Holy Ghost and early acts. Then you've got a baptism today that we have by the Spirit into the body of Christ. These things are different. So you have to look this thing up. So when you look at the word church, just because the word church is used in early Acts does not mean it's the church of the body of Christ. That's why oftentimes I've learned in preaching, I'm trying to get my, if y'all hear me saying some things, I'm trying to keep my terminology right. Because a lot of times we just mix terminology. A lot of times preachers are bad about that. So you just You just think, sitting out there, everything's mixed up. And that's kind of how I grew up. I just heard kind of devotional type preaching messages most of my life. And they just spiritualized the Bible. You hear a sermon, Psalm 23 over here. And you might hear one out of Isaiah. And they just kind of jumbled it all. And I just thought every single bit of the Bible was to me. Well, then you start reading. And you read over there in the Bible, in one place, it says you can't eat lobster. And I love lobster. And then you get over here to Paul. And Paul said, all things are good for Thanksgiving. All you got to do is ask the Lord to bless it. I'm giving thanksgiving. See there's differences. So once you start reading you see this thing. Now church. Watch Acts chapter 7. Look at verse 38. He says, This is he that was in the church in the wilderness. What's that? That's the Mosaic Church. You know what? A church, a good definition according to the Bible, is a called out assembly. They were called out of Egypt and they were assembled together in that wilderness. That's why he calls them the church. Y'all look, you've got to be careful about the word church. There's a church of Satan. Satan has an assembly. There's all kind of churches. The Roman Catholicism calls itself the Mother Church. Okay, well, they're saying, hey, we're called out and this is this body of believers, this is what we believe. So we are the church, the body of Christ. That's why you've got to get a hold of that thing. Wow, you've got... I've talked to Baptist preachers. Some of them are so crazy, you just don't even want to have anything to do with them. I've talked to them and they say, you know now, So-and-so, they're not a Baptist, and so they're saved, but almost like they're second class. Look, if somebody's saved, it don't matter if they go in a Methodist shirt, if they go into a Presbyterian shirt, if they're saved, they're saved. I'm not trying to just get, I'm just, that stuff makes me so mad. It's almost like so-and-so's second class. If you are saved, you're saved. People, you want to learn the Bible and you want to help people. I tell you what, this old mentality of so-and-so, we're just a little bit better than those so-and-so, I'm going to tell you what, that will damage your walk with the Lord. Because you go back in the Gospels and you read Christ's earthly ministry, you know who he was rough on, the Sadducees and Pharisees who thought they were better than everybody else. We want to go by the Bible, we want to learn the Bible, but the whole thing is walk close to the Lord and see who can help with the knowledge. This is a Mosaic church. And the Lord Jesus Christ, once He got here, He gave them revelation on things that they didn't know. And here, and look at Matthew chapter number 16. Matthew 16, you saw the Mosaic Church called out assembly. Now you're going to see the Messianic Church. And guess what they're supposed to believe? They're supposed to believe on the name of Jesus Christ. And that's what that thing was built on, that statement. They had to believe that He was the Christ. And that's what this confession Peter has, rather, that the Lord Jesus Christ tells him this thing. Matthew 16, look at verse number Let's see. 13 for context. When Jesus came into the coast of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say I the Son of Man am? This is the crux of these Gospels because he's saying he's the Messiah, the Christ. It says, And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist, some Elias, and others Jeremias, or one of the prophets. He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? Watch this. And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona. for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee but my Father which is in heaven and I say unto thee that thou art Peter and upon this rock I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it." That's the Messianic church. He said, I will build my church. Upon what? What did he say? Thou art the Son of God. What does he say all through the Gospels? Believe on Jesus Christ, the fact that He's the Son of God. Look, you got people, they say, well I just believe Jesus. A lot of people, you just believe Jesus. You can believe Jesus all day long and you're not going to be saved. You have to believe what Paul preached, and that's the death, the burial, and the resurrection. That is your gospel. Paul tells you over in 1 Corinthians 15, and a lot of people don't even know, you ask them where the gospel is, and they say, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John's the gospel. That tells you how the gospel came about, but that's not the gospel. Me and Titus were talking to a guy in front of Walmart one time, and he had a tent set up, and he's selling crosses. And I said, well, I tell you what, if he's right with the Lord, I'll support him. But I'm not going to give my money to folks that don't even know the gospel. And I said, sir, what is the gospel? And he said, well, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. I said, what about the gospel Paul preached? The man said, didn't Paul preach the same thing everybody else preached? I said, no, he did not. He did not have the same commission they had. The twelve apostles had a commission of Jesus Christ from earth. It's an earthly commission preaching the kingdom. With us, we don't preach a kingdom's coming. I preach it. According to the mystery program, you get into the body of Christ once you believe the gospel of the grace of God. That's what Paul said. So you know what you have? You've got the Messianic Church. You've got Right here you had the mosaic church. Now you've got the church which is the body of Christ. Now, look if you will... Man, I've got a bunch of verses and I've chased too many rabbits. Look if you will at a familiar verse. Look at Romans chapter 15. These are some things, because you know where the gospel is. Look at Romans 15, but these are some things you can help people with, especially when you're talking to a lot of people they do not know there's a difference. Look, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, the Lord Jesus Christ tells them, He said, I'm about to go die. And He said, I'm going to be buried. And He said, I'm going to be raised again the third day. None of them even knew what He was talking about. They weren't preaching the gospel Paul was preaching over here because every one of them were looking for a kingdom. That's right. So the Lord went to the cross and even after He goes to the cross, y'all remember reading in the Gospels after that? And look, Mary gets up there and she don't even believe it's Him. He has to speak to her and say her name before she even realizes who it is. And then she goes back and tells the other apostles, and they don't even half believe her, that He rose again. Now you know what they weren't preaching, what Paul is preaching today, if they didn't even understand it. So you know what that is? They had a message and they're preaching a king and a kingdom about earth. And you know what that thing is? He was going to set up a throne and it's put on hold for our dispensation. And when you get back in here, all these things, everything you're reading over here is He's telling them the cross according to prophecy. He's just explaining the cross, except how it affects them according to the prophetic message. That's all that is. People get over there and they get, you know, there's one verse over there in Peter where it says, talking about salvation, and it says, I just read it today, this afternoon, but it talks about how, especially, where should the ungodly and the sinner appear? Y'all remember reading that thing about salvation? He said, man, he said, righteously, he said, scarcely would the righteous be saved. He said, especially the ungodly and the sinner appear. You remember reading that verse? I remember I used to read that thing and I'd come through there and I'd go, ooh-wee. Man, if the righteous scarcely be saved, what's happening? He's telling them to endure. They're supposed to endure. That's what the Lord told them they had to endure to the end and the gospel of the kingdom's gonna be preached unto the end. You know what he's saying? You better endure because if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear? What he's saying, if you don't endure during that time period and there's going to be a man standing up there in Israel saying he's the Christ and he's going to be sitting in the temple of God saying he is God. You know what Hebrews said? Hey, we got something better. Don't worry about that. Don't worry about that old covenant stuff. You've got a new covenant and you've got a high priest that's up there after the order of Melchizedek. If you study the priesthood, Aaron and the Levites were the priests. You know what? The Lord Jesus Christ, that's one reason you read the Gospels. That's one reason why they're checking him out. He's from the line of Judah. The Lion of the tribe of Judah. Why? He was setting up a different priesthood. You read that. I'm telling you, when you read that gospel, there's more going on once you check the verses that just meets the eye. Why? They knew. They were even saying, we'd be not born of fornication. saying he was illegitimate there, but they didn't realize Joseph was not his father. His father is God. He was conceived of the Holy Ghost. And he was going to set up a whole new thing. So you know what Hebrews is doing? It's telling those Jews in Israel, he's going to give you something better than Moses, something better than an angel, something better than all those things. Every bit of that thing is better and he's going to put you under a new covenant. Why? Because they couldn't keep the law. So you know what He says? According to their prophecies, He's going to put His Spirit in them and they're going to be able to keep that thing 100%. It says in Ezekiel He's going to cause them to walk in His laws. You read Isaiah and the kingdom, they're keeping the law 100%. How are they doing it? Because the Holy Spirit's on the inside of them. You know what we don't have to keep the law. I'm not even trying to keep the law. You know what I'm doing? I'm trying to walk by the Pauline epistles where he tells me how to walk with the Lord all through his epistles. He tells you all that stuff. Romans 15, look at verse number 25. Did I say 15? I meant to say 16. I'm sorry. Alright, look at Romans 16. I apologize. I'm telling you, these rabbits jump out everywhere. It says this, Now to him that is of power to establish you according to my gospel. Why does he say my gospel? Because the Lord revealed it to him from heaven. Okay, now watch this. In the preaching of Jesus Christ, how does he preach Jesus Christ? According to the revelation of the mystery. Peter and the other apostles did not understand the revelation of the mystery. Paul in Galatians 2 had to get on to Peter because he's up there and he's gathering with the Jews and Peter withstood him to his face and said, man don't you know better than this now. By now, while they had met in Acts 15 and they realized that Paul was following the Lord's ministry from heaven and Paul had got a revelation and he had to get on to him. Watch what it says this, Jesus Christ according to the revelation of mystery, watch this, which was kept secret since the world began. When you read Acts 2, he's preaching things prophesied since the world began. You can't have one message prophesied since the world began and the Apostle Paul gets a message that was kept secret since the world began. That's two different statements because it's two different ministries and two different apostleships. Watch what it says, "...but now," that's where we are right now, "...is made manifest, and by the Scriptures," you see how important your Bible is? You've got the Scriptures of the prophets, "...according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith." You know what? The Lord had told His apostles, He said, you go to all nations. You know what happened? Their commission stopped because in Acts, right here, Stephen was stoned. And you know what happens in Acts chapter 8? They get scattered. You go home and read Acts, they get scattered. And they have to stop what they're doing because they were supposed to start from Jerusalem and go out. Well, they get... Stephen gets stoned. He's up at Jerusalem preaching and the leaders of Jerusalem, the leaders of Israel, stone him. They reject the message. So the Lord calls out a new apostle with a new message, the gospel of the grace of God, and he sends him out to the world. And he has to meet with Peter and the other apostles in Galatians. You read about it. And they said, okay, we're going to go to the circumcision and tell them what's going on. And then you go to the uncircumcision, which is us, the Gentiles. And you know what? You read over here. in their mail, the process program, 1st Peter, the whole thing, the Lord's about to come, just hold out to the end, you read 1st Peter, go back home tonight, and when you read it in this light, it'll bless your heart. You go back in 2nd Peter, he says, look, there's gonna come scoffers, and they're gonna be saying, where is the promise of the Father's one? Because they, look, Israel has covenants and promises. And they're gonna be saying, where's the promises? They hadn't come true. They've been saying since the beginning, the Lord's coming and all this stuff. He's having to tell them by the time you get to 2 Peter 2, he says, Paul writes things that's hard to be understood. You remember reading it? And he says, go back and read Paul and he'll tell you what's going on. You know what he's telling them? Paul explains that the Lord stopped our program And he knows if they'll read Paul, they'll read Romans 9 through 11. And Paul lays everything out. And he said he stopped the prophecy program. And he says, look, don't worry. One day the Lord's gonna come. The heavens were of old. And he talks about how the Lord is gonna come back. He said they didn't believe it in Noah's day. And they didn't, they're not believing it. And you know what he's saying? One day he's gonna come back. Why? Because this program right here is where we are right now. This is where you are. let anybody tell you, ah, eternal security is not for you and all this stuff. You know, all they have is conditional promises and they got to endure to the end and that mail is just not for us. So you know what, somebody tells me, well what about Hebrew 6? You know, y'all teach eternal security. And Hebrew 6 says, I said, well that's not my mail, fella. You know what I tell them? Hebrews is addressed to Hebrews and in the body of Christ there is neither Jew nor Greek. So you know what I just tell them? Hey, Hebrews has to do with prophecy program and He's orienting them on the change from the old covenant to the new covenant. He's going to make a new covenant with Judah in the house of Israel. That's what it says in Hebrews 8 and 10. And all you have to do is say, why don't you come back over here? Let's show you what Paul says about getting saved. And you know what happens a lot of times? No, no, no, I don't want to read over there. Why not? It's simple. All you've got to do is just trust the gospel as your blood atonement. All you've got to do is put your faith and trust in what Jesus Christ did for you on the cross. Guess what? He'll give it to you, a free gift. I've had people say, I don't know. I don't know. I have to go look at it. Why do you have to go look at it? You know what? It's so simple, y'all. People stumble over salvation. He gives it to you as a free gift. And you know what? I promise you I'm trying to clothe, man. But if somebody gave me a gift, let's say somebody gave me a pocket knife. And I've got knives all over the house. I've got a hundred knives probably. I like knives. Let's say Brother Mike gave me this knife. What would y'all think about it, man? I'm over here whittling away on a tree with this knife. Let's give them to me. If I want to whittle away on a tree with my knife, it's my knife anyway. Somebody says, I can't believe you're using that knife and whittling away on that tree. You're going to dull the blade, man. Well, it's my gift. I do with it how I want to. You let me operate my knife the way I want to operate my knife. And you operate your knife the way... If somebody else has got the gift of salvation, how they use that gift is between them and God. You can pray for them. You can encourage them and stuff. But you know one thing I've seen personally as a preacher just watching somebody else, they'll get saved and they go out here and they take their pocket knife and they'll go start carving all that and start trying to cut concrete with their knife. And somebody else comes, why are you doing what you're doing with that knife? That's a nice knife. That's a good gift. Well, it's their gift. If they want to cut concrete with a knife instead of using a jackhammer, let them do that. That's between them and God. You know what that'll do? That'll give every one of you, before I close, that'll give every one of you peace of mind. It's God's gift to them. You want to encourage them, you want to pray for them, but don't tell them how to use their gift. If they want to talk to you, I've learned this right here. If there's anything, so is to so. Unsolicited advice is seldom heeded. I went up to people before and said, they didn't invite me, they didn't ask me. I said, let me tell you, let me tell you this. Man, I'm excited about this thing. Let me tell you. I don't want to hear it. But oftentimes people get in a mess and what they do is see sin will lead people to a mess. And then what happens is they come to you. You didn't come to them. They come to you. And then instead of you forcing your help on them, they want your help and you're there with open arms to help them. That's what we want to do. You know, as apostles, we're helpers of their joy. You know what we want to do? We want to help people. But often times, they've got to get in line for you to help them in a biblical way, not an unbiblical way. Don't do like Brother Chase has done, and I have... I wish I could say otherwise, but I've messed up at times because I've got the verses, you know, and I think, if I just show them this, they're going to believe it. And I show it to them and try to force it. just makes them mad. The best thing to do is just realize that God has given grace and when He gives a gift, it's up to Him and them. Let's close out if we could. Brother Mike, if you would, close us out.
