Matthew provides apologetic support for the Christian Jews and their faith in Jesus as Messiah. Here in Matthew chapter one Matthew provides four lines of reasoning that Jesus is the Messiah:

1. Jesus' Royal Genealogy
2. The fullness of time- the end of the third 14 generation period which completed 6 periods of 7
3. Divine intervention in Jesus' birth- Angelic intervention, Divine Dreams
4. Scriptural support found in Old Testament prophecy.
