We go into Mark chapter nine to start with this morning. Once again, we're on the subject of devils and demons, which are the same thing. Our King James Bible doesn't use the word demon, but it's the same, same identity. And we've been kind of jumping. Of course, you know, we have our fourth Sunday, which is the ladies downstairs and the men upstairs class. And then we had well, that was the same time, Brother Steve Lilly, that was last Sunday. Anyhow, I was downstairs one Sunday with the young adults and then we've not been on this subject is what I'm getting at. We've been kind of off of it and on of it again. Well, so let me kind of review you. This is some stuff we've talked about for quite some time now. Angels are spirits. That's biblical. That's a fact. I can give you a Bible for it, but I'm not going to take time to do that. Approximately my understanding of the scripture, about a third of them followed Satan when he rebelled against the Lord. And we're all involved every day with battles against demonic opposition and oppression. All of us. That's why he says, be, uh, be strong in the Lord and the power of his might, that you may be able to stand against the walls of the devil. And we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities. We're wrestling against principalities. What are those principalities? They're demonic forces against powers, the rulers of the darkness of this world. So the, this world is, is actually being run primarily by the God of this world who second Corinthians chapter four, verse four tells us is the devil. Now, these are not things that should terrify us, but, uh, there are things that we need to be aware of. The Bible also teaches that demonic activity increases in the last days. Uh, possession by devils is a biblical fact, and there's no Bible that says that that cannot still be the case. So my firm belief is that there are people that are possessed with devils today, just like there were in Jesus day. Had a, had a, heard a preacher one time talk about, he kind of put some verses together and some, some facts about our, uh, our world. He talked about that place. I guess it's Matthew 12. We've looked at multiple times in the study with unclean spirits gone out of a man. He walking through dry place, dry places, seeking rest and find none. And he talked, his, uh, idea was that. And I don't necessarily agree with all of it, I'm just throwing this out there because it's something to think about. His idea was that the dry places are the places they don't like it. The unclean spirit walketh through dry places seeking rest and findeth none. And he goes back to his house which he came, which is a person, and he taketh with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself. And you're familiar with that passage, but his point was that devils like certain areas. Uh, and it's, it's, it's something to think about. He, he pointed out that, that Legion was at a, there at this, uh, across the sea of Galilee, a place called Gadara. And, and this preacher drew the conclusion that devils, demons like warm climates. Uh, and, uh, he pointed out cities like New Orleans, uh, wicked cities where there's a lot of demonic influence and, Now that's certainly not the case always. There's a lot of wicked cities up north as well, but it was an interesting subject to listen to him talk about it. And he had obviously more points than what I'm bringing out to you. I don't necessarily agree with that. I'm not denying it either. I think the devil's glad to get in any warm body he can get in, but there may be places that the devil is, and that's part of the lesson today, places the devil is prone to feel comfortable at. And we got into that just a little bit a couple of weeks ago. So, uh, uh, we've talked about the fact that demon possession is almost ignored in a lot of religious circles. And while there's others that kind of make too big of a deal about it, uh, we talked about that. A person can be in a possession of something and not be with it. There's some here today that are possessors of homes that are not in their homes right now. And so the devil has. uh, the ability to leave what he possesses and come back to it at his will. Uh, this is kind of where we got at last time. It was going to be two weeks ago, what it means to be possessed with devils or possessed by devils. And to be possessed means that the devil literally has taken control of you from your thoughts to your voice, uh, to, uh, uh, just your whole, uh, actions. everything about you because he is in possession and that's what we see in the man we call Legion. His voice is not, Legion is not even his name. He's possessed and the devils that are in him are answering for him. Our name is Legion for we are many. That's not even this guy talking and his voice is not, is controlled by the devil. His eyes are controlled by the devil. His actions are controlled by the devil. When, uh, where they bind him with chains. I don't know if he's asleep or what, or he's having a good day and the devil's away from him, but they try to bind him with chains. And then the devil's able to give him the power to break those chains. I heard another preacher one time bring out the fact that, and this is, there's a lot, there's a lot to this too. How many times have you heard of an accident where multiple people were killed by a drunk driver and the drunk driver walks away? Kind of something to think about. So the devil certainly does have power and he uses that in those that he possesses. So we talked a little bit about the psychological viewpoint of some mental illnesses that I believe are nothing more than demon possession. The most modern term that I think is a psychiatric term to identify people with demon possession. And I'm not saying that everybody, I'll say this already, I'll say it again. I'm not saying that everybody has a mental disorder is possessed with devils. Obviously that's not true. Some people just have an elevator that don't go all the way up. I mean, that's just about all you can say about it. And all of us have our own little quirks, okay? And so that's not to say that everybody that has a mental problem is affected by devils, but our culture has. Number one, denied the existence of God as well as the devil. And, uh, so we have to come up with some kind of term to describe what these people are going through in the term that most accurately to me fits people that are possessed with devils is D I D dissociative identity disorder. And that's where people have multiple personalities. They switch personalities. I'm going to talk about your wife just because of the mood she's in, OK? That's something different. And I'm just having fun, OK? He does it too. Us men do it too sometimes. Three out of every 200 people have DID, or sometimes known as MPD, multiple personality disorder, which is exactly what we see happening with devils. that are in people, okay? It changes their personality because they are possessed with the devil. Okay, so that's kind of where we were at the last time we had a lesson. And I got to the place of how to keep evil spirits away. And I gave you this illustration of this log cabin that me and my brother had built back in the, I don't know, late 80s early 90s took us a while to get finished with it working in our spare time mostly on Saturdays every once in a while and it's still standing that's where I proposed to Trisha at a special place for my family but we we used to use it a lot back in the day until I had kids and and the house to take care of it they don't have time to take care of it anymore but we had scorpions we started getting scorpions in there and I told this story uh and and I couldn't get rid of them until I decided that I would just find out why the scorpions were there and I found out that the scorpions love cave crickets and there was a lot of cave crickets in this we're talking about a dirt floor log cabin it's it's like a cave in there got two little windows and a loft and a solid door so it's almost like a cave anyway uh real damp and I found out that these scorpions love cave crickets. And so I decided to get rid of cave crickets. And when I did, I didn't have any problem, more problem with scorpions. I didn't have to get rid of the scorpions. I just had to get rid of what they loved, what they loved. So we talked about the right music and we went to first Samuel chapter 16 and most people are familiar with this, how that when an evil spirit was plaguing King Saul, when David would play with his harp, the right music would drive away the devils that plagued him. And so that is, I'm telling you, music is powerful. Music is powerful. The right music repels demons. The wrong music attracts demons. You don't have to be a genius to figure that out. That crowd that bites the bats off, heads off bats and dresses in black and Uh, brother Rick, uh, was telling a story earlier, uh, before church, uh, that crowd, I'm telling you, they are just asking for demon possession. Uh, if that, if that's what you put in your home and what you listed in your home, you will be attracting the wrong kind of spirits to your house. And I believe that with all my heart. Now, I told you to turn to Mark chapter nine. I think I did. I touched on this point and I didn't go very far with it cause we were out of time. Uh, Mark chapter nine, verse 21 and just, just in, I can't remember exactly how far I got on it. I'm going to touch on it real quickly. Mark chapter nine, verse 21. Uh, where am I at? One more page. Jesus here is asking the father of a boy that's possessed with devils, a young man. HOW LONG IS IT AGO SINCE THIS CAME UNTO HIM? AND HE SAID OF A CHILD. NOW THIS IS A YOUNG MAN THAT IS POSSESSED. THE NEXT VERSE SAYS THAT THE SPIRIT HATH CAST HIM INTO THE FIRE AND INTO THE WATERS TO DESTROY HIM. BUT IF THOU CANST DO ANYTHING HAVE COMPASSION ON US AND HELP US. SO THIS IS A PICTURE, THIS IS NOT A PICTURE THIS IS A REALITY OF A YOUNG MAN THAT IS POSSESSED WITH DEVILS AND IT HAPPENED WHEN HE WAS A CHILD. NOW THE BIBLE TELLS ECCLESIASTES CHAPTER 12 VERSE 1 REMEMBER NOW THY CREATOR IN THE DAYS OF Of all the evil days come not, nor the years drawn off, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them. And so it is best for young people to, uh, serve the Lord while they're young, because that verse simply says that when you get old, you won't be able to. Uh, but I use the illustration that most people, unless it would be for nostalgic value, would much rather prefer a new house to an old house. Okay. It's just common sense. Uh, a new house is almost always better than an old house. And the devil would much prefer to inhabit a young person than to inhabit an old person who doesn't have a lot of life left. If you will. Uh, we see the same thing there in Mark chapter seven. Uh, let me turn back there. Mark chapter seven, verse 25. This is a certain woman whose young daughter had an unclean spirit. And so the question arises, and I actually taught this to the young adults class last Sunday, not as maybe in depth as I am with you guys today. It is so critical for young families to make sure, especially if you have children, that make sure that there's nothing in your home that the devil's interested in. And anything that the devil might be attracted to in your home, you just need to get rid of it. Because you can't afford We've, we've got evidence already. We just saw two back to back chapters, Mark seven, Mark, well, almost back to back Mark nine, where the young people are possessed with devils. And the question comes up, well, how did that happen? How did, how did the young person become possessed? Well, I can't say that I can't definitely answer that, but I can say this, that if. Those children weren't in the right environment. That's one of the things and I didn't read that again to you. Let me just read it real quickly if I can find it. And all my notes here, which are not that many. Well, psychiatrist. I'm not sure that I know the difference between psychiatrist and psychologist. Does, does anybody feel like that you can accurately describe the difference? I don't want your opinion. Uh, we probably all got one. I don't know that there's a whole, I'm sure there is a difference. Uh, but, uh, anyhow, uh, psychology, here's what I'm looking for. Uh, they have, they have determined that environment. has a huge effect on mental illnesses. People that are in certain environments are more likely to have mental illnesses, just based on what they're growing up around, okay? Just the environment. Now again, I'm telling you that I believe that a lot of mental illnesses is not actually anything wrong with the brain, it's just the devil. And so what I'm trying to tell you is that coincides with what I'm trying to teach you today, that the environment, in particular the home that is a place where the wrong things are present is much more likely to be attractive to evil spirits, all right? Go with me to, I wanna touch on this, Acts chapter, I think it's 19. I'll tell you if I'm right. I think it's 19, 12, let's see. Acts chapter 19, verse 12. Well, this is not what I'm looking for, but it's a pretty good verse too. We read this a couple of weeks ago. Verse 11 says, and God brought special miracles by the hands of Paul so that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons and the diseases departed from them and the evil spirits went out of them. Now, I know, and I've taught on this before, that apostles are those that had actually literally spent time with Jesus Christ and there are no apostles alive today, they've all, all the people that lived that had an opportunity to have spent time with Christ. They're all passed away, obviously. Uh, and, and there was an age of Paul talked about the works of an apostle. Okay. I'm not saying that God, God can still do anything he wants to, but apostles had special power given to them by God. Uh, and Paul mentioned that when he talked about the works of an apostle. Okay. So here is the apostle Paul and there are things that are taken that he had that were possessed by him, possessions of him. Be careful what words I use, we're talking about demon possession. Things that Paul had in his possession and those very things were repelling to evil spirits. They didn't want to be around these things that had been with Paul. Now there's no power in a handkerchief and there's no power in an apron. but the evil spirits didn't want to be around them. And so, uh, I've got, this is old notes that I'm looking for a verse. It's in the book of acts, but you're familiar with it. We read it already. It's, it's in Ephesus. I think it was that they brought all of their curious arts and they burned them. The things that were attractive to that were part of a cult worship and even demonic worship, things like that. They just burned them after they got saved. There was a certain value that was given on them there. And that's kind of where I'm going at with today, that if there is anything in your home, especially if you have children in your home, that would be attractive to the devil, the right surroundings, whether it be books or decorations or emblems or movies or magazines, you need to get rid of those things because there are things that evil spirits, there's an environment that evil spirits prefer. Okay. Now I don't think, I'm sorry. 19, 19. Go ahead and read if you're there brother Josh. Yeah. Yeah. It's in that I was in the right chapter. I just looked at the wrong verse. Uh, so that's, that's a, that's a, uh, an illustration of God's people getting rid of things that, that they don't need or that are wrong to have, but why were they wrong to have, you know, Paul brings out later, uh, that even an animal that sacrificed an idols, we know that Paul said that there's no, uh, that, that meat, uh, is not what Jesus himself, it's not made that defiles the body. But Paul, uh, talked about abstaining from things that were sacrificed to idols. And so those things, even though they might be harmless in the sense that they're just inanimate objects without any life, the fact that they would be attractive to evil spirits is reason enough to get rid of them. Okay. and to mention our testimony as well, which I think is why they got rid of them. Creatures of the night. Okay, creatures of the night. What are some creatures of the night? Bats, yeah. Now Brother Rick, the story I don't have aroused Brother Rick's curiosity, your curiosity of what Brother Rick was telling about. He was talking about going to a Kiss concert with John Clemens. I hope you didn't mind me mentioning that, Brother Rick. You know, those guys, they kind of had a bat-like appearance to them. Would you agree with that? Didn't one of them even have a cape? Or maybe they all had capes. I don't know. Yeah. You know, there's something wrong with that. There's something wrong with that. I read a book one time and it was pretty far out, but it made me think. It was written by the crowd that I'm telling you goes overboard with exorcisms and things like that. But there was some things in it that made me start thinking. And I have noticed through the years that people that I have been around that are likely possessed with devils have an obsession with creatures of the night. That would be bats and owls. And I think I told you guys, did I mention an owl in Sunday school? Some are saying yes, some are saying no, but there's a fellow that you know that I've been trying to help, and he has very few possessions in this world, but I have them all in my carry right now. And one of his most cherished possessions is an owl. Not a real owl, but one like you'd put in your garden, okay? And he asked me about it recently. You still got my owl? I said, yeah, it's in the barn. I actually brought it out here and set it on top of the church bus for a while to try to keep the little starlings away and it blowed over or something. I forget now what happened to it, but I've got it back. But people that are possessed with evil spirits, they have obsessions with certain things and they're attracted to those things and amongst those are creatures of the night. Now, I'm fixing to tell you a story, and you can think I'm crazy or I'm far out if you want to, but I know because it happened to me. Back many years ago, I'm going to say Jacob was about four years old, okay, roughly four years old, and it might have been more like five. I'm trying to remember the bedroom that the boys were in at that time and at what age time, what period of time that might have been, but sometime he was around five years old, and someone had given him uh, a set of Batman pajamas. Okay. Now listen, you, I'm just telling you a story. You can take it for what you want to. Uh, but he w he wasn't, he probably wasn't five. He was probably younger than five, but he was having bad dreams. When I, Trisha, my bedroom, our bedroom was right next door. And. multiple times at night he would wake up screaming and I'd run in there and or Trisha would go in there and you know how it is you just kind of take turns sometimes and or whoever's awake or whatever but the last time that I went in there and he was having bad dreams I said what are you dreaming and I remember thinking it's strange that he would tell me this because he was young enough that I didn't know he knew what a dragon was. Y'all know who the dragon is in the Bible. And so I asked him, I said, what is it you're dreaming, son? He said, when I go to sleep, he said, I start dreaming about a dragon and it's always chasing me. And well, that kind of made me think. And I remembered when we went to bed that night, that was the first time he'd ever wore those Batman pajamas and had a big bat across the chest. And I'm not trying to spook you out or anything like that. I'm just telling you a real story that happened to me. And I remember when he put that on that night to go to bed, I thought, man, I just don't like that. I just don't like that. And so when he told me that, it was still, it was in the dark there. I said, take your shirt off, son. And it was in the wintertime, and I took that shirt and went and throwed it in the fire. We had a wood stove, and I just threw it in the fire. And he went to sleep and never did have another bad dream that night. Now, you know, it may have been a coincidence. I'm just telling you, here's my point. It ain't worth it. It ain't worth risking things such as that to, because I know from experience that people that are wicked, that have every evidence of being possessed by devils, are attracted to creatures of the night. They have them in their homes. They like the movies that Hollywood puts out that scare people, that have, that are, Creatures of the Night in those movies. So I'm just trying to make a point to you that there are things that you can have in your home that you would be better safe than sorry for and just get rid of them. And that's how that demons can come in to find things attractive. And I'm not saying this for any other reason just to say, you may say, well, I've never had anything like it happen to me. Uh, I'm not telling you this because I'm trying to say that, that my family is something special, but, but a pastor's family is under attack more likely by the devil and, uh, and devil. So, uh, and I can prove you that from the scripture as well. So just to just, I feel almost silly telling y'all this, but I'm teaching this class and you need to be aware that, that, that the devil, there are things we can see from the scripture that are, he's attracted to, and things that he is repelled by. So, let's go to 2 Chronicles chapter 29. 2 Chronicles 29. While we're going to 2 Chronicles 29, maybe somebody's got a question this morning. I've got one. Talking about Peter being a bad legion, can you remove the evil spirits yourself? Well, and that's a good question, and I hope that we'll get to it before we get through, but I'll just go ahead and answer a little bit. And the reason I'm gonna go ahead and answer it, because it's kind of what we're looking at right now. We saw there in Acts chapter 19, verse 12, how there were things that were repulsive to the devil that he just got away from those people, okay? That's why it's important in Christian homes that we have the right things in our homes. And make sure we're listening to the right music and watching the right movies, because there are, and music is probably one of the most important things. How many of you, and I'm not gonna ask for a show of hands, I have talked to at least one person in this building that has experienced what I'm about to talk to you about. I can almost, I could, not all of our family's living at home now. It's not near as, I say all of our family's not living at home. You know what I'm saying. Children have grown up, they've got their own homes. But when everybody was home, and I would say, we're gonna sing tonight. The devil comes out with machine guns. I don't think there was ever a time that it wasn't a battle. I don't remember, at least. I don't remember there ever been. Praise the Lord, Dad. We've been wanting to sing. And everybody has a good attitude, and everybody's happy, and everybody says yes, and nobody finds anybody doing anything wrong. And I don't remember that ever happening. I'm telling you, every time that we, and that wasn't, I'm not telling you we were listening to, we weren't listening to anything wrong in our house. We were just doing about our daily business. But when we start trying to get some good singing from our family participating, the devil, comes at us tooth and toenail. I've never seen anything like it. I'm just being honest. If you want to see if the devil is around, you get your family together and say, we're going to sing and see what happens. Because somebody's going to get a bad attitude almost every time, usually two or three. And sometimes before it's over, everybody does. It's because the devil can't stand that stuff. And I'm kind of answering your question. Uh, the, the few, I remember one time and I can't even remember where we're at, but we were all in, in the van when we're back when we had a van and just out of the blue, we started singing in the van on the way home. And I'm telling you, we sung for hours and I don't, I don't think the devil was waiting around trying to hinder that night. I don't know what was, but it was, it was so wonderful. We sung for however far we were driving. I remember coming down to Interstate 40, getting close to home, and we were just singing and singing and singing, and somebody would start singing another song. We did that for a long, long time. But if there was ever a time at the house that I said, OK, we're going to sing tonight, I'm telling you, it was a battle. And I'm answering Brother Jason's question, trying to. and making the point again that there are things that the devil doesn't like. And if we will, I guess if I had it to do over again, I would probably say two or three nights a week we're gonna sing. Because we have this tendency when something is so difficult, you don't do it very often. But that's not how you overcome something. You just keep busting it and busting it and busting it and busting it until finally you start getting a little victory and people start getting used to it. Uh, it kind of helps. Uh, sometimes I'm not saying that that would have necessarily been the answer, but that's probably the, what I would have tried, uh, if I had to do over again, but when it, okay. I don't want anybody in here to be fearful. Uh, now we, we ought to be sober, be vigilant for your adversary. The devil has a roaring line walking about sick of him, whom he may divert that this is real stuff that this is not something that I'm dreaming up. Okay. This is all real stuff. And the devil hates every family here. He hates it that you're here. He hates it that your children are in Sunday school. He hates us and he wants to hinder us and he'll do everything that he can. But if we will be faithful to church and be faithful to do the right things at home, then we don't have to worry about this stuff, okay? And then again, you know, I have never, I've been around multiple people that I am confident were possessed with devils, but I have never said, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out. I've never done that. I've prayed about it. I have. I mean, I could tell you stories. I'm not gonna tell you stories, but I could tell you stories that are really, you'd think I was crazy to even be around people, but the Lord has given me a peace at times to be around people, even though the devil was raging in them. And I know the Lord protected me Uh, and he's able to do that, but what I see, and I'm still answering your question, but Jason, uh, that number one, that person has got to be wanting to be freed. If he wants the devil's there, then he's not, you know what I'm saying? Uh, and, and that this is something we'll get to later, later, probably not today. We're probably don't want to get done today. Uh, but a person that has addictive behaviors, such as drugs and alcohol, As long as they're wanting to hang on to their drugs and alcohol, they ain't going to get rid of the devil. Uh, they've got to be willing, wanting to get rid of those things. And, uh, but if that person can keep the bad things out of their life, then eventually the devil will just leave himself. If that makes sense. Uh, the devil, the devil doesn't want to give up. Don't misunderstand me. But outside of a divine casting out, and if we can use the word exorcism, which is a Bible word over the book of Acts, outside of something miraculous like that, the key to getting the devil out of people is constant, diligent, godly atmosphere. And I would also remind you of Mark chapter nine, where we started at today. The disciples had tried to cast that devil out of that boy. And they wondered why they couldn't. And Jesus, when they asked him about it, they said, why couldn't we? And he said, prayer and fasting. This kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting. So dealing with devils is serious business. But there's no need for God's people to be afraid of the devils, OK? So, we kind of got a little bit, not off track, but off script, if you will. Maybe somebody else got a question. Well, you've also got, yeah, of course, at that time he's sending out, is that the 70? Yeah, the 70. And of course, Brother Joe's question is not, was that for them only, is this for us? That's what Brother Joe's question is. Now you got Mark 16 that gives certain things that the disciples will do after falling after Jesus. My answer to that would be yes and no. Do I believe that, you know, why would I try to help somebody that I'm convinced is possessed with devils if I don't think I can do something about it? And ultimately, as, as we know, and it's been said, it's going to take the Lord to do it. Uh, I can tell you this, uh, a book that I read, uh, you know, I'm kind of, uh, this is, I wasn't prepared for that question. I hadn't thought about it. Uh, no, that's fine. It's fine. Uh, I mentioned the works of an apostle. and I ain't got time to look at all that this morning. God has always and will always continue to be able to do anything he wants to at any time, okay? If God wants to heal somebody in our morning service, he can do it. If God wants to cause somebody to have been in a wheelchair all their life to be able to walk, he can do it. And I would not deny prayer for any sick individual because I believe God's able. But when it comes to gifts of healing, uh, and that is me having a gift to heal somebody. Uh, I've never, you know, my experience has been that those that claimed to do that or have that only do it under their circumstances on TV. Uh, now, uh, there, and I would, I'm kind of. just giving you my opinion when it comes to casting out devils. Do I believe that? Well, I'll just be all, you know, I'm kind of thinking through this. There have been times in the last year or two dealing with somebody that I knew the devil was speaking through them and, and talking to me, it was the devil talking to me, not this person. And, and more than once I talked back to the devil. Uh, I know I'm kind of freaking some of y'all out. Uh, but, uh, I had conversations with, uh, with this person, but this person wasn't really talking to me. It was the devil. And, uh, I wasn't afraid not because I'm he man, cause I'm not, but because I, uh, was prayed up and, uh, felt the peace of God with me. Uh, And personally, myself, I don't have that power. I don't have that power. To be able to, I don't have, God has not equipped me with enough power to say, devil, get out and get out now. If there's somebody that is able to do that, I'd like to meet them. Because I got a lot of people I'd like for them to talk to. I'm not, I'm not going to say that I don't, that, that it's impossible for somebody to have that power. It would be God's power. Uh, but I I'm inclined to believe, uh, I, I wouldn't have always answered this question exactly like this because I've always kind of thought that people that said, no, I don't, I don't think, uh, that, that God does anymore. I always kind of felt like they were trying to limit God. Uh, and I don't want to limit God at all. God can God do anything he wants to, but I'm inclined to believe that most of what we read about concerning signs and miracles was basically the apostles. And, uh, again, I wouldn't live at God today, but I've not seen it. And, uh, I mean, I, uh, I'm not, you know, I'm not, I'm not anything and I'm, I'm not, uh, I'm, I have prayed and fasted over, uh, certain individuals that I am confident are possessed with devils and I still haven't been able to make much headway with them. Uh, so, uh, I'm just trying to answer your question as best as I can. And I, and without, without saying that God can't, because I believe he can, I believe primarily that was for them and not for us. And somebody may disagree. With that, that's okay. Well, this is interesting, whether we're getting very far with it or not, I don't know. Anybody, we're almost out of time. Anybody else got a quick question this morning? Okay, let me describe this to you. Remember we said that, okay, right now you all have, you own your vehicle, it's out in the parking lot, but you're not in it, right? Uh, in the same manner, the devil can possess someone and not be there present all the time. Right. I mean, that, that just kind of makes sense. Okay. If there are things that repel the devil and he leaves, okay. Uh, have you ever had something that repelled you from something that was yours? Uh, for example, uh, this has never happened to me, but imagine your car getting sprayed by skunk. Okay. Now you run over a skunk and it stinks really bad for two or three days, and so you don't drive that car for two or three days, okay? There's something there that has repelled you away from something that you possess. Okay, so here's where I'm going with that. My philosophy, my belief, my doctrine, if you will, is that if we are going to get the devil out of people, then we've got to keep them in an environment or get them in an environment where the devil doesn't want to be there. And then while the devil's away, we get them to in their own heart and in their own mind, while they're able to think clearly to, to repent and turn to Jesus Christ and, and receive him and his spirit. And then the devil can't come back in because the Holy spirit's there. Uh, is that making sense? Uh, well, Me too, until I see it in the Bible. And then that kind of clarifies that it can't happen. Well, I think if we could go back to Mark chapter nine and see the home that this boy came out of, we'd say, well, there's the problem right there. And if we could see the home of this woman that besought the Lord for her daughter, if we could go to that home, oh, well, here's the problem. And let me remind you that when we started this study, I told you there is a difference between demon oppression and demon possession, okay? You know the further we go in this the more I feel like We're getting further behind instead of gaining ground but You know, we're basically out of time this morning, but if anybody's got a question now's a good time to ask it Okay, well I'll get my brother Joe we don't exactly have a plan for Sunday school, but We're not three with this we'll get back on it. We didn't get very far this morning I'll close with this I think we need to go on the offensive instead of being on the defensive when it comes to the devil. Because we have an offensive weapon and this is it right here, the sword of the spirit. That's how Jesus fought the devil. He said, it is written. So thank God for his word.
