Good morning, good afternoon,
I guess it is now, everyone. Today is the 20th of January,
Inauguration Day. We have a new president. And I don't know if he's any
less corrupt than the last one. Only time will tell. Anyway,
Mark's been reading through the Gospels. He's been reading through
the Gospel of John. Today he's going to be reading
in John 10. Now this is one of my favorite chapters in the Bible.
I know that I say that often. I mention often John 17, John
6, John 10, Hebrews 8 and 9, Isaiah, the whole book of Isaiah,
especially from 25 through the end of the
chapter of Isaiah, Romans of course 8 and 9, Colossians chapter
1, Ephesians chapters 1 and 2, Just a few of my favorite chapters,
Revelation 19, Matthew 24, anyway. But this 10th chapter of John
is phenomenal because it's Christ teaching particular redemption.
That's what he's teaching. He's teaching that not everyone
is God's sheep. I wrote a book which has been
very unpopular. I'll put a link, if I can find
it, where you can get a copy of it. It's 350 pages, but the
name of that book is, God does not love everyone, but he does
love his elect from everlasting to everlasting. That's what basically
John 10 is teaching. God does not love everyone, but
he does love his elect from everlasting to everlasting. He starts out
by saying, Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not
by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way,
the same as a thief and a robber. Well, we know for a fact that
there are many, many people in the world and many, many religions
in the world that teach that all paths lead to
God. There are many religions in the world that even deny the
existence of a God and hold on to a Big Bang Theory or Darwinian
Evolutionary Theory, absence of God. But Jesus Christ says,
rarely will I say unto you that he that entereth not by the door
into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same as
the thief and the robber. Well, we're going to find out
who the shepherd is. Okay. But he that entereth in by the
door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the door is opened, and
the sheep hear his voice, and he calleth his own sheep by name,
and leadeth them out. Notice he doesn't call those
that aren't his sheep. See, that's the lie of the willment
offer of the gospel. That's the lie of, you know,
that all you have to do is execute your free will and you can become
a sheep. That's not what Christ taught. Christ said, the sheep hear his voice and
he calleth his own sheep by name. Verse four, when he put forth
his own sheep and goeth before them, the sheep follow him, for
they know his voice. The goats don't know God's voice. The goats are those that are
denying that Jesus Christ is the only mediator between God
and man. The goats are the ones that are denying that God gave
him a name that's greater than any name that every knee should
bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. The goats deny what Christ said
when he said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man cometh
to the Father but by me. They deny that. And it says a stranger they will
not follow but will flee from him for they know not the voice
of strangers. So that tells us there that the reprobate goats
are not going to follow Jesus Christ because they don't know
his name. And also it tells us that the
sheep will not follow Anyone other than Christ because they
don't know anyone other than Christ What says that this was a parable
that Jesus spoke unto them they did not understand what he spake
unto them He said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you,
I am the door of the sheep. So he made it very clear He was
the door of the sheep I am the door by me if any man
enter in he shall be saved and shall go in and out and find
pasture. Well the only way he can enter in is He can't enter
in as a dead man. He can only enter in as if he's
given life. We found that in John 3. He says
you must be born again. He said the spirit bloweth where
it listeth and no man knoweth the sound thereof. So is everyone
that is born of the Spirit of God. So a person must be born
again before he enters in. He says, I am the good shepherd,
I give my life for the sheep. He knows he doesn't say he gives
his life for the goats. He's teaching particular redemption
here. Remember what Mary was told? His name shall be called Jesus,
for he shall save his people from their sins. I don't remember whether he told
Mary that or Joseph that, but anyway, he told them one of them
that. Now he talks about the reprobate. He says, He that is
a hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not,
seeth the wolf coming, believeth the sheep, and fleeth, and the
wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep. The hireling fleeth,
because he is a hireling, and careth not for the sheep. There's
a lot of hirelings out there. I started reading my book, Biblical
Christianity, in the first chapter, and that has to do with these
hirelings. People like Kenneth Copeland,
and Billy Graham, and Norman Vincent Peale and Robert Shuler
and Rick Warren and Paula White and Juanita Bynum and Creflo
Dollar and on and on and on. The hireling careth not for the
sheep. He says, I am the good shepherd and know my sheep. We're
told in another place that he foreknows those whom he predestinates. And he predestinates whom he
calls, and he calls whom he justifies, and he glorifies whom he's justified. And he says, I am known of mine.
And he says, the Father knoweth me, so I know the Father, and
I lay down my life for the sheep. Notice here he didn't say he
laid down his life for the goats. He's teaching particular redemption.
He says, I lay down my life for the sheep. And other sheep I
have which are not as full. He's speaking of the Gentiles
there. It's not just the Jewish elect, but it's also the Gentile
elect. He says, I lay it down on myself.
I have power to lay it down. I have power to take it again.
Well, we see that he did. He rose from the dead on the
third day. The stone was rolled away from
the tomb. Christ rose up out of that grave
and he ascended back to Father and one day he's coming back
for us. And he told them the reason they
didn't believe on him. And this is hard. People don't
like to read this, especially those that are touting that Jesus
loves everybody. He says, you believe not because
you're not of my sheep. He said, the reason you don't
believe is you're not of my sheep. In other words, you're a goat,
you're a reprobate. You're a vessel of dishonor fitted for destruction
in what it says in Romans 9. As it relates to Esau, have I
loved? Jacob, have I loved? Esau, have I hated? Esau was
a goat. He says, My sheep hear my voice,
and I know them, they follow me, and I will give them eternal
life, and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them
out of my hand. Where's the temporary life in that? Where's the falling
from grace in that if he gives you eternal life? He said, my
father which gave me is greater than all. No man is able to pluck
him out of my father's hand. Well, guess what the Jews response
was? The same response we get today
when we teach limited atonement. The Jews took up stones to stone
him. Have you ever been stoned? I've been stoned, not physically,
but I've been stoned, you know, from a mental standpoint, from
a spiritual standpoint, I've been stoned for teaching what
Christ taught. They sought again to take him,
but he escaped out of their hand. Then finally it said, and many
believed on him. So he had a number of sheep there
that were his sheep, but there were also a number of goats there.
So I'm going to turn this over to Mark and have him read this
entire chapter, but like I stated, this is probably the number one
chapter in the Bible that Christ is teaching on particular redemption.
very, very, very succinct. John chapter 10, Verily, verily,
I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold,
climbeth up some other way, the same as a thief and a robber.
He that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
To him the door openeth, and the sheep hear his voice, calleth
his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out. When he putteth him
forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow
him, for they know his voice. The stranger will they not follow,
but they will flee from him, for they know not the voice of
strangers. This parable spake Jesus unto them, but they understood
not what things they were in which he spake unto them. Then
Jesus said unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am
the door of the sheep. All that ever came before me are thieves
and robbers. The sheep did not hear them. I am the door. By
every man that entereth in, he shall be saved, and shall go
in and out, and find pasture. Thief cometh out for to steal,
and to kill, and to destroy, and to come that they might have
life, they might have it more abundantly. I am the good shepherd,
the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. He that is
a hireling, not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not,
seeth the wolf come, and leave the sheep, and fleeth, and the
wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep. The hirer fleeth,
because he is the hireling, and the carrier not for the sheep.
I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and know mine. As a
father knoweth me, even so know I the Father, and I lay down
my life for the sheep, and other sheep I have which are not of
this fold. Them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice,
and there shall be one fold and one shepherd. Therefore doth my Father
love me, because I lay down my life, and I might take it again.
No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down myself. I have
power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This
commandment I received of my Father. There was a vision, therefore,
again among the Jews for these saints, and many of them said,
He hath the devil and is mad. Why hear ye him? Others said,
These are not the words of him that hath the devil. Can a devil
open the eyes of the blind? It was the Jews from the feast
of dedication. It was winter. Jesus walked in
the temple and saw him on the porch, and then came the Jews,
ran about him, and said unto him, How long does thou mix it
out? Thou be the Christ. Tell us plainly. Jesus answered
them, I told you, and you believe me not. The works that I do in
my Father's name, they bear witness to me. But you believe not, because
you are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. My sheep hear my voice,
and I know them, and they follow me, and I give unto them eternal
life, and they shall never perish, nor shall any man pluck them
out of my Father's hand. My Father which gave them to
me is greater than all, and no man is able to pluck them out
of my Father's hand. I and my Father are one. And the Jews
took up stones again to stone him. Jesus answered them, Many
good works have I showed you, My father, for which of these
works do you stone me? The Jews answered him, saying,
For good work we stone thee not, but for blasphemy, because thou,
being a man, makest thyself God. Jesus answered them, It is not
written in your law, I said, Your gods, if ye call them gods,
and to whom the word of God came, the scripture cannot be broken.
Say ye of him, The Father hath sanctified and sent to the world,
thou blasphemest, because I said, I am the Son of God. If I do
not the works of my Father, believe me not me. But if I do, though
ye believe not me, believe the works that I may know, and believe
the Father is in me, and I in him. Therefore they sought again
to take him, but he escaped out of their hand. Went again beyond
Jordan to the place where John first baptized, and there he
abode. And many resorted unto him and said, John did no miracle,
but all things that John spake of this man were true. Many believed
on him there. Okay, well, thank you, Mark.
You know, we just got through hearing the inauguration and
we saw evidence of goats there promoting universal atonement.
Who prayed at the inauguration? Father Dolan, Bishop of New York,
Roman Catholic, and alongside him, Franklin Graham, ecumenism,
you know, and they were praying that that God would bless everybody
and that God loved basically the universal prayer. Roman Catholicism
and Evangelicalism, New Evangelicalism and Franklin Graham all packaged
in one little package right there at the inauguration. Well, you
all have a blessed day. John 10.26 But ye believe not,
because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. That's why
people don't believe. They haven't been given the faith
to believe. They haven't been predestinated. They haven't been
called. They haven't been justified.
