Prayer: Love and Righteousness

Paul's deep affection, though requiring a long distance relationship, resulted in a focus on prayer. His confidence in them compelled him to keep on asking God to cause their love to abound - to an ever greater extent, in a very personal experience and in an exceptional way. Paul wanted them to be able to totally approve their lives at the return of Jesus Christ, because they were sincere and blameless. This approval would only come when they were completely controlled by righteousness. In the day of Christ, all of the glory and praise would go to God alone.
