Thank you for your kind attention this morning. And I pray that God will direct our hearts and our thoughts to our responsibility and missions.
Except we go, who do we hold responsible if we don't do it? If we don't give, who is responsible to give? We can't throw this off on anybody else. We're all going to stand before the judgment seat of Christ. Every one of us as individuals. Lord knows, I haven't taken every opportunity. I'm ashamed of many times. But I tell you, the command is still there.
Turn with me to Matthew 28. You know it very well. We'll begin reading in verse number 18. Those that are able to stand in respect for the Bible. In a courthouse, you wouldn't have the choice. If the judge walks in, everybody had to stand. But that tradition started because the judge carried a copy of the Bible in. They stood in respect for the Bible. And now they've thrown the Bible away, but they still want us to respect the judge.
Matthew 28, verse 18, And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto Me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, teaching them to OBSERVE all things whatsoever I have commanded you. And lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Heavenly Father, I ask your blessings upon the reading of thy precious Word. Now, help us respond help us to understand and to do what you would have each of us as individuals to do. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Thank you. So many questions, so many, but there's not a question asked anywhere in the Bible that's not answered somewhere in the Bible. You notice there are several questions that the book of Job asks about God, but God always answers the question later in the book. No matter what the question is, God has an answer. Christ, Himself, IS the answer.
Many times in our ministries we know the way, we know Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, but sometimes we forget what it is we're supposed to do about that. Well, He says go into all the world, literally in the participial form, and saying as you're going into all the world, whoever's going anywhere, you have a purpose for going there. God is always way ahead of us. No place you go surprises God. No thoughts you have surprises God.
As you're doing your daily work, remember we said this morning, they just went everywhere preaching the word. When they were persecuted, the church people went everywhere, trying to escape persecution, but they told people about Jesus and the gospel as they went, wherever they went. And they went to the uttermost parts of the earth, as we'll see perhaps even tomorrow evening.
This thing about the gospel, everything they did to turn the world upside down in the first 50 years of Christianity, they got the gospel to the whole world. And they did it without social media, radio, television, and they didn't do it having church buildings. They were running for their lives, but they were witnessing to people as they went, and they were winning people to the Lord.
It is said somewhere around 2 million Christians died the first 50 years. That's how FAST they got the Gospel out. The Romans put impaled Christians on spears and covered them with tar and set them on fire to be lights and torches on the Appian Way from Jerusalem all the way to Rome. But Christians, the old saying is the blood of the martyrs is the seed of the church. The more Satan persecutes the church, the cleaner it gets and the more powerful it gets and the more our gospel message has an impact. That's why America is not winning a lot of folks today because it's so easy to be a Christian Salvation is simple It'll cost you nothing But being a Christian and being a disciple of Christ will cost you everything
Anything We owe him all he died on the cross and made the payment for every one of us sinners and None of us were going to heaven if Jesus Christ had not died on that old rugged cross. We have the way, Jesus. We have the what? The gospel. We have the why. Why? Because if you don't tell them, if I don't tell them, they don't have any option. God is not going to bypass the personal instrument we talked about this morning. God intends to win people through people. He's not swooping down from Heaven and just a loud voice saving people, and like a big cloud come down on people and save them. There's going to be an understanding of the truth of the gospel. The Word of God has to come. Faith comes by hearing, hearing by the Word of God.
So we have the what, we have the way, and we have the why, because if we don't do it, it won't be done. God has laid that personal responsibility upon His people. We have the why, but sometimes we've lost the who. We pick and choose what sinner we want to try to win. We only pick and choose a certain group of people to put on our prayer list. We pray for the rich folk because they'll help us support the church. We pray for the poor folk because we know What? We know they're not going to have any money, but they make the best Christians. I thought I'd get an amen out of that. There must not be any poor folk here. We're all rich in Christ.
He said sometimes we forgot the who we're supposed to go to, but we forgot the when. When are we going to witness? When are we going to go? When are we going to give? When are we going to pray? Behold, NOW is the accepted time. TODAY is the day of salvation. Lift up your eyes and look on the fields. They are white, all ready to harvest. If we're going to do anything, you can't say, I'm going to do it tomorrow. You've got to say NOW. If somebody crosses my path, I'm going to be willing to try to tell them about the gospel, or at least acknowledge that I'm a Christian, and if they have a need, I'm going to pray for them.
Sometimes we have the who, and sometimes we have the whom. We always think it's somebody else that's supposed to do it. No, it's you and I have to do it. I am under no more obligation to witness to a lost person than you. If I do witness, it's because I'm obligated to him. I owe a debt to this whole world. Many have NOT heard the gospel. I've heard it THOUSANDS of times because I was raised in a Christian home, and hell would be hotter for me if I died and went to hell out of a church building, out of a church pew, out of a Christian home than it would be for anybody else because to whom much is given, much is required.
So we sometimes have the win. But who said it? I think sometimes we forget who commanded this thing. Jesus said, and He COMMANDED them, Go into all the world and preach the gospel. There's no if about that. There's no back up about that. As you're going into the whole world, teach the gospel, preach the gospel to every creature, Mark 16, 15. And every one of us is going to stand at the judgment seat of Christ and say, I knew I was supposed to, Lord, but I didn't do it. I'm just saying not one single Christian will give an excuse at the judgment seat of Christ. We'll say, I'm ashamed of myself. And the Apostle Paul said he's preaching these things and teaching these things so that we would not be ashamed at his coming.
Boy, I've got plenty to be ashamed about. I've been all over this world 13 to 17 times, somewhere in there. I don't know. Sometimes I lose track because I'm on one end of the world one week and another end of the world the next week, but that's just one trip, but I was in three different countries preaching, so you just don't know. How many people have I met, had conversations with, and I know if they do not believe the gospel, they're going to go to hell. If they don't have Jesus Christ as their Savior, they have no hope in this world.
There is no religion. Baptists can't save you. Catholics can't save you. Pentecostalism can't save you. Mormonism can't save anybody. Jehovah's Witness can't save anybody. No world religion can save anybody. It took a person. God sent His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man comes to the Father but by Me. Now either that's a truth or a lie. Either Jesus is telling the truth or He's a fraud. You don't have any neutrality. You're either for Jesus or against him. You're either going toward the Lord or you're pushing people away from the Lord. And you and I are responsible to the Lord to go when he tells us, where he tells us, to who he tells us, and that means all the world, wherever our little world ends.
Some of our world ends in Indianapolis. Some worlds end in the state of Indiana. Some of our worlds end in the tri-state area. Some people's goes to the whole country. Some people, it goes to all North America. Some people never get out of this place. Then your responsibility is to every place you go. To everyone you know. We have all that down.
Then I asked the question. Matthew chapter 19, verse 25. Matthew 19, 25. The Bible says, And when his disciples heard it, let's go back a little bit, go to verse 21. Jesus said, And if thou wilt be perfect, that is, mature, complete, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor that thou hast treasure in heaven, and come and follow me. But the rich young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.
Then Jesus said unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven. And again I say unto you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, and I believe that s talking about a literal camel going through a literal needle. It s impossible! It s impossible for you to be saved! It s impossible for me to be saved! It is an absolute MIRACLE!
And there's many songs that have been written about that. It took a miracle to hang the stars in his place. It took a miracle to put the world in place. But when he saved my soul, cleansed and made me whole, it took a miracle of love and grace. So it took the grace of God. That's a miraculous thing. So what Jesus did on the cross was an absolute miracle. He did it for you and me.
When the disciples heard it, they asked the question, exceeding amazed, saying, Who then can be saved? There's the question. Who then CAN be saved? Well, the next verse tells us. And Jesus said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye which have followed me in the regeneration," oh, excuse me, I skipped them, but Jesus beheld them and said unto them, With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.
Because of who Jesus is and what Jesus did on the cross of Calvary, conquering death, conquering hell, conquering the grave, getting up from the dead by the omnipotence of His own power, ascending back to the right hand of the majesty on high, ever living to make intercession for us, because of who He is and what He did for all of us, God made it possible what would be impossible for you and I.
That's why I have a problem with some soul winning things. A soul winner goes out and tells a bunch of truth, shows them all the scripture, and somebody says, well, I believe that. And the soul winner looks at them and says, well, put her there, you're saved. No, you can't tell anybody they're saved. They have to tell you. It's their faith that saves, not my faith that saves. My faith only saves me. But if I present it right, and there's nothing about me that would keep them from believing what I say, then God gives me the reward for helping win them to the Lord.
Who then can be saved? Well, number one, it's impossible, but God made it possible. It's His mercy. Only God can do something like this. I want us to get a grasp in the mission how impossible the task is. He said, go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. Why? Because every person is special to God. Every person is important to God. Every person, no matter what their religion, is loved by the Lord Jesus Christ. He loved us and gave himself for us. He has no intention for ANY human being going to hell. Hell was created for the devil and his angels. But when you and I REJECT the gospel, REJECT the Lord Jesus Christ, REJECT the love of the Father, REJECT the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, God has no option but to send you just like Lucifer to hell. That's where I deserve to be. But I'm not going because of an impossibility that God made possible through His extended mercy.
Here's the question. Romans 11, verse 32, He's counted EVERYBODY in unbelief so that He can have mercy on everybody. He saw every sinner, religious sinner, hypocritical sinner, Baptist sinner, Catholic sinner, he saw everybody as a sinner because we all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. There is none righteous, no not one, Romans 3.23. And the wages of sin is death, eternal death. But Jesus commended his love toward us. in that WHILE WE WERE YET SINNERS, Romans 5.8, COMMITTED HIS LOVE TOWARD US, IN THAT WHILE WE WERE YET SINNERS, CHRIST DIED FOR US.
Oh, man! He knew all about me! He knew all the sins I was going to commit 2,000 years ago, because God lives above time, and He lives in eternity. Somebody said, Well, I can only see the parade of time as it goes by me. My pastor was talking about this the other day. We live only down here in what's right in front of us. That's all we can see in time. But you can see a parade as it goes by, but all you can see is what's in front of you. But if you get that little whirlybird with a camera on it and you lift it way up in the air, you can see the whole parade all at the one time. God lives above time. And he sees the whole parade at the same time. He sees the beginning from the ending, because he doesn't live restricted to time, space, and matter like we do. So God, when we ask the question, who then can be saved? With men, it is impossible. But you and I have been chosen to do the impossible by the power of God. I'm just saying, this thing about trying to get people saved all over the world with all their biases, prejudices, preconceived ideas, religious stuff. Like I said this morning, if God can save a first-class hypocrite like me, He has no problem saving an honest sinner. I was religious and lost. Didn't smoke, cuss, chew, run with girls that do. I never pushed grandmas down steps, and I never stole hubcaps off of moving cars. I had to restrain that a little bit. They weren't moving.
Who then can be saved? No one if they do not hear the gospel. And how shall they be saved? How shall they preach except to be sent? And how shall they hear without a preacher? Faith cometh by hearing, hearing by the Word of God. So we must preach the Word of God to them. The first generation showed us how to do it. Just go out and tell people about Jesus. Just go tell people what Jesus did for you. Now if He hadn't done anything for you, don't claim to be saved. If you don't have a testimony, if you've never been born again, don't go out and try to tell people how to get saved. Because the Apostle Paul at least three times gave his personal testimony about how he met the Lord on the Damascus Road. And God had mercy on him. A witness is only required to tell what he knows from experience. If I don't know, if I have no further experience than I have, I don't need to pretend like I do. People ask me Bible questions all the time, and I said, I'll have to think about that one. I sometimes say, why don't you just fake it? You know, I mean, I got degrees, pastors got degrees, but the more you study this book, the more you see, you understand you don't know it. And you want to look at it more. You want to study it more.
Question number one, who then can be saved? impossible, made possible by God through the mercy of God and through the witness of God's people. You and I can do the impossible, for with God all things are possible. It's possible for Almighty God to use me to win somebody to the Lord.
Number two, Luke chapter 13, verse 23, Matthew, Mark, Luke, verse Chapter 13, verse 23. We'll start reading verse 22, And he went through the cities and villages, teaching and journeying toward Jerusalem. Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And He said unto them, Strive to enter in at the straight gate. For many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able, when once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door.
Kind of reminds me of what happened in the ark, and Noah, and the flood. Lord, Lord, open unto us. Now that sounds like a prayer. But there's a time that God says, you can call, but I won't answer. God has a deadline and a strict opportunity for every one of us. But there is a line where God won't go further. That's why if you reject Jesus Christ today, you have no promise in the Bible that you can be saved tomorrow. Today is the day of salvation. because you don't know that you're even going to be alive tomorrow. No man knoweth what a day may bring forth. Our life is in His hand, and we need to take our opportunities, number one, to tell people, number two, to get saved.
But Lord, are there few that be saved? Jesus answered them. There's a few. Many are called, but few are chosen. And that doesn't mean Calvinism. That doesn't mean that he has selected a few to be saved, I don't believe. I just believe some become choice. If you just read from Genesis to Revelation, you've got chosen cities, chosen trees, chosen chariots, chosen captains, chosen men. That means they're the best of the bunch.
God, when He saves the soul, He doesn't see us as sinners anymore. He sees us as a finished product. He sees what you're going to be like 2,000 years from today. Glorified. Higher than the angels. More powerful than them. You know, if an angel stepped out here, we'd go, hooray! But when a saint gets in the presence of an angel, it's the angels to say, oh, look at that, a saint. We're made higher than the angels in the next life.
Are there few that be saved? Well, we have so many things in the Bible. Jesus taught about the tares. They look saved, Well, they used to be saved, but they're not anymore. No, no. Many shall say to me that day, Lord, Lord, when I testify prophesied on my name, have we not done many wonderful works in my name yet? Will I profess unto them? Depart from me. I never knew you. Right. There's no one that will go to hell that used to be saved. That's right. That's right. If you're saved, you're saved forever. Amen.
So there's tears. There's illustrations that Jesus used about seeds that fall in different kinds of ground. Only the good ground produces fruit. And that depends on our heart. The ground is a picture of our hearts, Jesus said in that same parable, Matthew 13. He said, and there's sometimes it just looks like it's a bunch. I mean, I've been in services where a hundred people made professions of faith. But only two of them got baptized, and only one of them stayed in the church. Why? The seed was sown, but it just looked like it was good. It made that loaf of bread look really big, but it was all leaven, yeast. It just swelled. The trees got so big, talking about all the Christendom. Whoa, look at all the billions and millions of people on the world that are Christian, but how many of them are really saved? Because it's just leaven, just puffing it up.
The problem with that is I've driven down the road and seen many a dead deer that was puffed up and swollen, but that don't mean it was alive. Some of us get really puffed up in our religion, really puffed up in our knowledge, really puffed up in our education, really puffed up in our good work. And maybe it's just you're swelling because you're dying.
Well, who then can be saved? Those that believe the impossible. Who then, are there few that be saved? Everyone that calls upon the name of the Lord in truth, not just saying a prayer, but from the heart, thou shalt confess with thine mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart. Not just something you say, not just a ritual, not just a religious mumbo-jumbo, but whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord in truth shall be saved. That's Psalm 91. It's got to be in truth. It's not just saying a prayer. It's not some religious thing you go through. God be merciful to me, et cetera. A lot of people say that. A lot of people pray that. But they're just trying Jesus. They're not trusting Jesus. They're just trying this magical incantation. That's how people treat the Bible. Oh, God of this Bible. Oh, I'm calling on you to heal me. Well, the prayer of faith shall save the sick. But whose faith is it? Theirs and those praying for them. But it's the power is of God. Jesus again said, all power, all power in heaven and earth is given unto me. There's no higher authority than Jesus. That's why so many Christians have died. Millions and millions of Christians are dying right now. At least 250,000 the last week in Nigeria. They're dying all over the world, while we sit back and say, well, it's good to be a Christian. Well, our day's coming, perhaps.
That's why we need to pray for our country so we don't go in that direction, because most deaths in this world are done by religious people. True Christianity has never persecuted or prosecuted anybody. Because we believe salvation is a free will thing. That's right. Amen. Baptists especially in history. We've been persecuted, prosecuted, and killed by Protestants, Catholics, every religion in the world. We've been killed, but we haven't killed anybody. Because we believe in personal responsibility.
So, are there few to be saved? Well, it's been said, I remember hearing a preacher on a recording in 1900, it was recorded, that he didn't believe but 10% of people in our kind of churches are really saved at all. Because they live in the world, like the world, and love the world. Jesus said you can't love the world and be mine. If you were my sheep, you wouldn't do that. It's not our works that make us saved, but if we're saved, it produces works. Faith that doesn't work is not Bible faith. Repentance that doesn't produce fruit is not Bible repentance. We believe in a faith that works. We believe in a profession of faith that works. If it didn't work, why would you say it works? Oh, well.
Look at 1 Peter 4, verse 18. I don't know. I'd like to think that every single one of us in this room, if we die, we're going to Heaven. I'd like to believe that. I've got no way of proving I'm saved to any of you, because I don't know any of your hearts. I don't know anybody. I don't know if anybody's saved. But I'm going to go by their testimony and their life. If their life and their lip matches up, I'm going to trust them as long as I can. But even the Apostle Paul talking about certain people in church said, I stand in doubt of you, lest I have labored in vain. Everybody talking about Jesus doesn't love Jesus. Or their life would show their love. Everybody that gets married doesn't really love that person they marry. I've done marriages where the two people got up in front of me and God and everybody and looked at each other and said, I promise this, I promise that, I love you, I'll always love you, and two weeks later...
Love does not fail to love. Now, there are some people we can't fellowship with, and I understand that. There are some things you don't have to put yourself through, but the love continues if it's Bible love. So there are few to be saved? Yeah. I think in the service of the king, God is still like the Marines, just looking for a few good men. He's just looking for a few good women. The severity, so we have the question, this is the supernatural nature of our commission. God is asking us to do the impossible. Then we have the shortness of our accomplishment. Just a few are getting saved. I understand now from several sources that because of the death of Charlie Kirk and some of this, that a lot of churches are gaining numbers and people are coming back. Just like after 9-11, I mean, people started going to church for a little while and then they fell away. Storms come and they go pray and then when the storm goes away, they say, well, I guess I didn't need God after all. Tragedy hits and people start praying. When the bombs are dropping, even my dad in Germany during the World War II, and my dad's still alive, and he said, that old saying, there's no atheist in a foxhole. I mean, when you hear that, dear Heavenly Father, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I mean, it makes you pray, because that could be falling right on me.
Are there few to be saved? Yes. In 1 Peter 4.18, I'm going to get there eventually. I'm good at putting it out there, but not looking at it myself. 4.18. We'll start reading verse 16, And yet if any man suffereth as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God on this behalf. For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God. And if it begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel? And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?
If good religious people are still going to go to hell if they haven't trusted Christ, What are the really bad sinners going to, what's going to happen to them? We see the severity of the consequences if we do not win the world. Because when I say the world, I'm talking about your friends, your neighbors, your relatives, your fellow church members, all the people in China and Russia, Haiti, I mean, Nigeria. We're talking about everyone. They're people that are no better and no worse than you and me. And you and I trusted Christ as our Savior. And we didn't deserve it. They don't deserve it. But we have the cure. And we owe it to the world to take the cure to them. The cure is the blood of Jesus Christ, God's Son.
Where shall the ungodly and the sinners stand? Well, Revelation says, I saw the dead, small and great. Your song that you wrote recently. I saw them at the grocery store. I saw them at Walmart. I saw them at the Dollar General. I saw them on the street. I saw them at the restaurant. I saw them at the bowling alley. I saw the dead, small and great, good and bad, nice guys, bad guys, clean people, dirty people, cussing people, preaching people. All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.
At the Great White Throne Judgment, there's only one question that the God that sits on that throne is going to ask. What did you do with my son? What did you do with what he did for you? The severity of the consequences? Eternal damnation. We've rejected the love of God. God has never cast anyone to hell because He wanted to. It's because THEY wanted Him to. A sinner says, I don't want God to save me! I want to live my own life! I want to be my own Savior!
I say it often, and I don't know if every preacher does this, but We're all around the world. I don't meet very many people that worship the devil, and I don't meet very many people that worship Almighty God. Most people, you know who they worship? What would you like to do today? How do you want to look today? What are you going to wear today that's going to make you look Mirror, mirror on the wall, am I not the fairest of them all? Am I not more important than everybody else?
The severity of the consequences. Acts 16.30. Go back again to Acts chapter 16, verse number 30. And the question comes from a lost man. When Paul and Silas, verse 25, at midnight, Paul and Silas prayed, sang praises unto God, and the prisoners heard them. Well, I thought Paul and Silas was a prisoner. No, they were God's free men. They were put in prison, but they were not prisoners. And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken. Immediately all the doors were opened and everyone's bands were loose, and the keeper of the prison, waking out of his sleep and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had fled. He'd rather kill himself than let the Romans torture him for dereliction of duty. It's not a pleasant thing what the Romans did to people, even in their own army.
But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm, for we are all here. If they were prisoners, they would have tried to escape. No, we're here because we believe God put us here.
And you know why it turned out to be? Why they were in prison? So they could win a jailer to the Lord Jesus Christ.
And he called for a light and sprang in and came trembling and fell down before Paul and Silas and brought them out and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
See, the great responsibility is we shouldn't have to go into all the world and tell people they're lost. We ought to be living in such a way that they are looking for us. but sanctify the Lord God in your heart and be ready to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that's in you. See, our life should be so holy, so full of God's love that people say, you got something I need, what is it? And we say, it's not what I have, it's who I have. It's who has me. I'm in love with Jesus, and I love anybody that Jesus loves, and I love the sinner, and I love the saint.
Now, I can't stand me most days, but I still love me too much. Most of us don't have a problem loving ourselves, but our problem is loving others as we love ourselves.
And the question is, sirs, what must I do to be saved? What would you tell them? How did you get saved? Trusted. You trusted in the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ as He died on the cross, shedding His blood, fulfilling all the Old Testament prophecies about how that atonement would take place, even to the spear in the side and the water washing His inward parts that was demanded in the Old Testament of the sacrifice for the atonement and for the Passover. So the water had to wash the blood that was left out of him. He gave every ounce of blood to save my soul. And it took His death and His suffering to pay for your sins too.
See, if He was just a mere mortal man, He could only give His life for one other person. But if He's God, He can die for the sins of the whole world. And as I said this morning, great is the mystery of godliness. God was manifest in the flesh. Well, He's Almighty God. He wouldn't make Himself mere mortal man. When Jesus died on the cross, He said, I am a worm and no man. He went even lower than that. He paid for His whole creation. He paid for this whole creation, groaneth and travaileth in death till now. He redeemed the whole earth while He was redeeming our souls. And one of these days, He's going to burn this thing up and recreate a new heaven and new earth, and He's already paid for it. He's paid for it on that old rugged cross.
What is the question? How can I be saved? Believe on the Lord, Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved. It's not head knowledge, because you're not going to talk to very many people that don't know Jesus died on the cross to save people from their sins. That's where I was. I mean, you couldn't have shown me something in the Bible I didn't believe was true. But I hadn't personally trusted it for me. I trusted it for other people. But I thought I was good enough. I just, immaterial to me. Because I was a pretty good guy. I had to be or she wouldn't have married me. That is one lucky lady right back there. She's been my wife for 52 years. That's luck. All bad, but it's still luck.
Well, how are they going to hear except somebody tell them? How shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach except to be sent? as is written, how beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel. That's what Missions is about. Missions, the whole program of Missions, is answering those questions. They're all answered in the Bible. But I'm afraid that sometimes you and I choose who is going to get. Our gospel is to everybody. See, even the shepherds when Jesus was born, they said, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace and goodwill to men. He said, Cheer up, basically. He said, Behold, somebody said, Luke chapter 2. I mean Ive quoted that a thousand times in my life, and I just want to make sure I got it right.
Luke chapter 2, they were talking to the shepherds, and verse number 8, And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch of their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the LORD came upon them, and the glory of the LORD shone round about them. And they were so afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not, for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to some people. All people. If your gospel isn't for all people, it's not the Bible gospel. It's not for a select few. Even if only a few get saved. He paid for the sins of the whole world. But all that payment is on Jesus. It's in His account. He's paid for everybody's sins. but that doesn't mean any of them are not going to go to hell until they repent toward God and receive by faith the finished work of Christ. Then it's taken off out of Jesus' checking account and it's put to the individual account. It's called the law of imputation. It's got to be imputed. He's got to credit it to our account. But it's on Jesus' account until you get saved. then he transfers our payment to our account. Romans chapter 4, the law of imputation.
How can they be saved? If Jesus had not died, no one could be saved. But if Jesus hadn't died on a cross, no one could be saved. if he had died being beaten by the prisoners and by the soldiers, even if it had been bloody, and they did bloody him, but if he had not made it to that cross, he would not fulfill the prophecies of the Old Testament about Messiah dying on that tree. It had been a bloody death, But it couldn't just be anywhere, it had to be on Mount Moriah, where the Calvary stands today. Because that's what the Bible said, when Messiah come. And Messiah, Jesus Christ, He fulfilled every prophecy concerning His coming. And if He did that, when He says, I'm coming back, If he can conquer death held in the grave, he says, be watchful, for in such an hour as you think not, the Son of Man cometh. And when He cometh, harpazo, harpazo, snatched away. Now the world will have an answer to all of us disappearing. It was aliens! They sucked us up in there and we're gone. No. It was Jesus coming in the clouds and said, come up hither and we'll fly away. Then seven years later, he's coming back and not a single lost person is going to be alive when he's done. He's going to kill every one of them, Revelation chapter 19. Because he's cleaning up the population one by one. He's taking them out, all those that don't believe in him, all those that don't trust him. And by the time he comes back, the remnant, what's left, he's going to destroy with the word of his mouth.
So only saved people that get saved during the seven-year tribulation end up alive at the end of that. Then there's the resurrection of the Old Testament saints and their mortal bodies. And then they come back and they have children and they live all those promises fulfilled. And Pastor can clean up all that.
Who then can be saved? The Gospel is for everybody. Hitler could be saved if he had trusted the shed blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Understanding he was the sinner. even a religious seventh-generation Methodist preacher could get saved. Jesus loved me and gave Himself for me, but He doesn't love me more than He loves you. He loves everybody, and He's not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
But hallelujah! You ask me why I'm happy? Well, I'll just tell you why. Because my sins are gone. They're underneath the blood of the cross of Calvary, as far removed as darkness is from dawn. Somebody ought to write that song.
We have questions about this missionary work. He answered all of them. in the Bible. And He didn't bypass our personal responsibility to tell Him, nor our personal responsibility to receive and acknowledge the truth. What are we going to do about that? Well, if you're here and you've never been born again, you've never received the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior.
See, in India, I can get people to trust Jesus as their Savior, but they'll just buy a statue of Jesus and stick Him on the shelf with the rest of their gods. No. If you've got to trust Jesus, you trust Jesus alone. You take all the other gods off your shelf. You see, there is none other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved. And that is the name of Jesus.
Father in heaven, we love you. Ask your blessings upon the message. Help us to get a heart for missions. But help us all to make sure and examine ourselves to see if we're in the faith. And Father, forgive me if I didn't say it straight and didn't say it clear. And forgive me, Father, if I made it feel like I was condemning anybody. Everybody's already condemned. I'm just trying to warn the sinner and trying to help them, encourage them to trust the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior. Help pastor during this invitation in Jesus' name. Amen.
That's all. Stand as bound eyes closed, the altars open.
