the Pharisees and the hypocrites in Luke the 12th chapter the 56th verse you hypocrites you can discern the face of the sky and of the earth but how is it that you do not discern this time Well, we're not only talking about discerning of times, we're talking about the discerning of what people are saying in our culture.
Matthew 16, 3, And in the morning it will be foul weather today, for the sky is red and lowering. O ye hypocrites, ye cannot discern the face of the sight, but ye cannot discern the signs of the times. There's a lot of people right now that are not discerning the signs of the times.
How do we determine or discern what is good from evil or what is evil from good? It says there'll come a time when they'll call good evil and evil good. That's the time we're living in.
Hebrews 5.14 Strong meat belongeth to them that are full age, even those who by reason of use have had their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. Discernment, proper judgment, being able to understand the difference between the genuine and the fake, the counterfeit and the authentic.
1st Kings 3.9 Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people that I may discern between good and bad, for who is able to judge this thy so great a people? Solomon asked for discernment and wisdom.
Well, Ezekiel 44, 23, they shall teach thy people the difference between the holy and profane, and cause them to discern between the clean and the unclean.
June of 411, should not I spare Nineveh, that great city, when there are more than 64,000 persons that cannot discern between their right hand and their left hand? You know, we're living in a time when people have very poor discernment, don't they?
You know, just because someone proclaims to be a moral, ethical person doesn't make them a child of a king. You know, I noticed the other day they had a photo of Erica Kirk and on her hand was a great big Mormon ring. not Mormon ring, I'm sorry, a great big Mason ring. A great big Mason ring, a Mason with a G signal on it. Just because Erica is proclaiming to be a conservative doesn't make her a child of king.
If she's ascribing to Masonic doctrine, Malachi 3.18, then shall ye return and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not. We have very poor discernment in our society.
You know, when people get up and start proclaiming that all paths lead to God, and they start proclaiming that all religions are valid and that not one faith should take precedence over another faith and those who are serving all are serving the true God and those who are in Judaism are serving the true God the same God of the Christians that is improper discernment That's not proclaiming the truth. That's not proclaiming the truth. It's proclaiming a lie.
Jesus Christ said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man comes to the Father but by me.
1st Corinthians 2 14 but the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God For they are foolish and foolishness unto him neither can he know them because they are spiritually discerned Well The only way we can have proper discernment is if the Spirit of God gives us proper discernment.
Hebrews 4.12 For the word of God is quick and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. A lot of people are evaluating their decisions based on what the majority is saying. The Holy Spirit gives us a discerning of spirits, 1 Corinthians 12 10. To another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits.
There are a lot of people that are more concerned about having the approval of the majority rather than making proper discernments. If they make a decision that's not based upon the Word of God, and based upon the majority, they are not proclaiming the truth. Ecclesiastes 8.5 A wise man's heart discerneth both time and judgment.
Everything we do in life, we're making a discernment about it, aren't we? We're making discernments every day, and where does our proper discernment come from? It comes from the Holy Spirit of God.
Proverbs 7 7 and beheld among the simple ones I deserved among the youths a young man void of understanding Well Like I said there's The motive for making decisions by people is often determining how popular it will be received, whether the vast majority will receive it or will reject it.
That's why the doctrine of election and reprobation is so hated amongst the majority of so-called Christians is because they know it's not a very popular thing to talk about. They'd rather talk about and promote a lie, which is that man determines his own destiny by his so-called free will, which doesn't exist. That's not having proper discernment.
For by grace are you saved through faith, not of works. It's a gift of God.
Well, we should pray that God would give us proper discernment during these evil days.
