Uh, appreciate the opportunity to share with you this morning and to pray with you. And, uh, we're going to look at Philippians chapter one, verse 27. And this is a, uh, a text of scripture. That's, uh, often a reminder to me where Paul is writing to the church at Philippi in chapter one, verse 27, and he says, Only let your manner of life be worthy of the gospel of Christ. So that whether I come and see you or I'm absent, I may hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit with one mind striving side by side for the faith of the gospel. So I thought in the context of this particular setting where we're not in one location, but we are in one location. This is fitting because it's a sign that, you know, when Paul was writing this, he was writing to the Church of Philippi, he was writing to a specific location, he was writing to people who were in a specific location. I am sure that Paul was not thinking about a Zoom call that had multiple people from multiple countries. But I think it's very fitting as well for us, and as we think about this in this context, that even as we think about ourselves stretched across the world from the US to Mexico, to India, to Europe, to wherever we may be, that we can stand firm in one spirit. We can be linked arm in arm. We can strive together for the gospel of Jesus Christ. And so there's a great opportunity that we have to be able to engage one another, to be able to strengthen one another, to be able to encourage one another, to be able to touch lives that we would not be able to touch if we weren't in this physical location. And so when Paul is talking here saying, let your manner of life be worthy of the gospel, live your life in such a way that the gospel is advanced, that the gospel is put forward, that the gospel is not hindered. And so how do we do that when we're thinking about this corporate prayer time that is occurring every day? taking place with people around the world. Well, we're doing that by being able, as Paul says here, to stand firm with one another, to encourage one another, to be able to be linked arm in arm, to be able to show Satan, to be able to show the world that there is a unified cause of Jesus Christ that transcends country, that transcends language, that transcends culture. And that we are seeing God do a work of ministry through a group of people across the world that we are able to advance the cause of Jesus Christ, and he makes mention there that we are we are striving side by side the idea of being linked arm and arm. helping one another, encouraging one another, and engaging with one another. And so people that we would not have normally been able to rub shoulders with or link arms with physically, we're able to, in a virtual way, through technology, to be able to engage around the world. And it's really a picture of what heaven ultimately will be. Every tribe, every tongue, every nation gathered around the throne of Jesus Christ, exalting him for all of eternity. And so this is an encouragement, this is a means by which Paul says, make sure that you are thinking this way, you're striving side by side, you're standing firm in one spirit, it's the spirit of God that we're standing firm in, and that we're allowing the gospel to be advanced, we're allowing the gospel to not be hindered, and we're allowing ourselves to be focused on Christ. I'm reminded of A.W. Tozer, who said, did it ever occur to you that 100 pianos all tuned to the same fork are automatically in tune to one another. He said in the same way, 100 worshipers all looking away to Christ are automatically in tune to one another. And so no matter who we are, no matter what situation we're facing, no matter what country we're living in, we can be focused on Christ, looking away to Christ and be united in prayer in this case, for the cause of Jesus Christ for those around the world and for those situations that believers around the world are encountering. So just an encouragement today, as you think about that particular text of scripture in Philippians 1, being written to a specific location, yet having a transcendent application across time to be able to say, now we have people from all over the world being able to be linked arm in arm, striving together side by side for the gospel.
