Let's look at Deuteronomy 31. This is a passage that's on my heart today. And I want to say a few things from this passage. And I want us to think this morning about how the Lord never fails. He never fails, does He? Amen. God never fails. Let's look in Deuteronomy 31. Now Moses has led God's children as far as he can take them. And now the Lord has raised up this young man named Joshua to take them further. And Moses is a type of the law, and we know that the law can never get you into victory. It can never get you into the promised land. But Joshua was the one God chose. Joshua is the equivalent for the New Testament name Jesus. Amen. Now, the law can't get you in the promised land, but Jesus Christ can get you in and get you over. And so, Moses has done all that he can do, but because of Moses' weaknesses, he's not going to be able to take Israel over. Israel, because of unbelief, and Israel, because they disobeyed God, the Lord said that they had ten times And God's number for 10 there just means when you get to 10 with God, it's just, God just said, I'm through. And he sweared his wrath that that generation that came out of Egypt's land following Moses, those that were 20 years older and up in life that had disobeyed God, they had murmured in their tents and complained in their tents, and we all gotta be careful about that, right, amen? And learn to thank God for every day. Thank God you woke up today. Thank God you had the day. Thank God for today and that the Lord gave you today. And enjoy the day. Amen. But this time they have sowed sin against God and so about 40 years has passed and those people have died in the wilderness. They've died in unbelief. They didn't have enough faith to live in victory. They wouldn't obey God and step out by faith and walk by faith. And so God said, He swore in His wrath that they would not go over in the promised land. But God's a merciful God. I'm glad God's a merciful God. And the Lord let Caleb and Joshua live out those days and wait on God through those days. And then the Lord gave a new generation. The book Deuteronomy, the word deut means second and the rest of the word means law. And so the book of Deuteronomy is the second giving of the law. God gave his law through Moses in Exodus and Numbers, but now God's giving his law again to this new generation that are getting ready to cross that Jordan River March around the walls of Jericho. Defeat their enemies and dwell in the promised land. Live by faith. Amen. Conquer by faith. Go forward by faith. And so this new generation is given a second law. They're being told again what God told those people who would not live by faith. So the book of Deuteronomy is the second giving of the law. In chapter 31, I want us to read these first eight verses at least. I want you to notice on two occasions that the Bible says that the Lord will not fail. Now let me just get ahead of myself just a little. He goes a little further than saying He won't fail. But He goes so far to say He will not fail thee. Amen. Now I know God's not going to fail. Amen. Because He's God. Whatever the Lord is wanting to do, He can accomplish it. Whether he uses me or someone else who's willing, the Lord can get it done. But the Bible says here on two occasions, as Moses is going to pass on the scene, Joshua's going to take on the new work, the new generation, and cross over by faith. And what the Lord says to them is that, I will not fail you, and I will not forsake you. Let's read this together. The Bible said, and Moses went and spake these words unto all Israel. And he said unto them, I am 120 years old this day. I can no more go out and come in. Also the Lord has said unto me, Thou shalt not go over this Jordan. The Lord thy God, he will go over before thee, and he will destroy these nations from before thee. And thou shalt possess them, and Joshua, and he shall go over before thee as the Lord has said. And the Lord shall do unto them as he did unto Sihon and to Og, kings of the Amorites, and of the land of them whom he destroyed. I was looking one time and studying these guys Og and Sihon, and I think it was Og, he slept in a bed that was like 13 feet long. And I can't remember how wide it was, but I did the math on that some time ago. He was a big guy, man, and he had a big army. But can I tell you, a lot of times we look, and just like y'all sang that song, little is much, when God is in it. It is a whole lot of much when God is in it. And when we see that it's not my ability, Moses can't do it, Joshua can't do it, and Israel can't do it, but God is the one who can do it. You know when I limit myself and when I don't walk in victory and I don't see the vision that God wants me to see, a lot of times it's because I'm thinking about what I can accomplish and what I can get done and what our church can produce. But God is not limited by my weakness. God's not limited by how much that I possess. God is unlimited and He won't fail. Look at verse 5. And the Lord shall give them up before your face, that ye may do unto them according unto all the commandments which I have commanded you. Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them. For the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee. He will not fail thee. nor forsake thee. And Moses called unto Joshua and said unto him, the sight of all Israel, be strong and of a good courage, for thou must go with this people unto the land which the Lord hath sworn unto their fathers to give them, and thou shalt cause them to inherit it. And the Lord, he it is that doth go before thee, he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee, fear not, neither be dismayed. I want to preach for just a little while this morning on God who will not fail us, but I want us to consider that even if there have been failures in our own lives, God is a God of a second chance. I'm so grateful that he is a God of a second chance. But let me just say, God will not fail you this morning. He will not fail you. Let's have a moment of prayer. I'll try to give what's on my heart this morning. Heavenly Father, I thank you, Lord, for the privilege, the opportunity today. I thank you, Lord, for the safety you've given us all to get here today. I pray, God, for those that are not here with us, Lord, because sickness and affliction. Lord, we pray that you would be with them. God, I pray for this congregation here today, and Lord, I pray that you would get personal, Lord, with each of us. I know, Father, that, Lord, I am limited, and I'm unable, and I'm weak, but, Lord, you're strong, and I pray that you would, Lord, today, by the Holy Spirit, give us utterance and the ability to say what you'd have us to say, and, Lord, give the people ears to be able to hear and Lord, by faith, receive what you would say to them. Lord, as individuals, as families, and then Lord, as a church body. I pray, Father, you'd work in these moments. Bless Brother Harold and his family. Lord, as they launch out and unify together in this word, I pray, God, that you'll bless them and give them great vision. And I pray, God, that you'll fulfill those things through your great faithfulness and your great power Now, Lord, we're leaning on you and looking to you for all things. We ask it in Jesus' name. Amen and amen. Now, on two occasions, at least in this chapter, we see that we have a God who will not fail. But He has also promised to us that He will not fail us. Now sometimes people get to thinking that somehow or another God failed them in some way or another. But can I just tell you that no matter what you've been through, and I know that some people have been through some difficult things, and we could compare Horror stories after church if you want to but I'm not going to waste my time or your time to do that this morning But can I tell you that no matter what you may have faced in life? No matter what you may have gone through God never failed and he never failed you I And He never will fail you. So I'm glad that we have a God who will not fail us and He will not forsake us. Isn't it good to know that when we have nothing left to offer God, He still decides that He will not give up on us. He loves us. And I thank the Lord that God continues to love us as we continue to go forward and do what He would have us to do. Let's just have a moment of honesty. I highlighted this in my thoughts. It would be good to have a moment of honesty every once in a while upon the people of God. When we think about failing, it's never God that fails, is it? But the reality of failure is God never fails, but sometimes we do. Sometimes I have, sometimes you have, but there have been moments in every single one of our lives that we'd like to forget, right? There have been times that we failed the Lord, but I'm thankful that the Lord Jesus Christ, that He is able to take care of every single failure, every single issue that I've ever had in my life. You know, the Bible says he is the God of a second chance. I remember an older person that got saved in our home church many years ago and lived most of his life away from church and God. And he got gloriously saved one evening, I think on visitation, got saved. And he and his wife got in the church and began to grow in the grace of God. and just began to do everything that they could do. They were senior citizens, but he wanted to serve God. And every time you turn around, you saw Brother Bill and you saw his wife, Dewey. They were such sweet and such tender-hearted Christians. I remember one time my wife just commented to Miss Dewey and said, what a beautiful jacket. And I think it wasn't maybe another service or two, and Miss Dewey had taken and had that jacket cleaned and gave it to my wife. That's how sweet and tender a family they were, but on the front of Brother Bill's car, he always had this thing on the front of his car. And it was a great witness, I thought. He said, if you're headed in the wrong direction, God allows you turns. And I'm glad that though the Lord never fails, there are certainly times that we fail. and I have failed, and you have failed. But what are we going to do about that failure? What can we do about that? You know, the Bible tells us that a righteous man falleth seven times, but rises again. You know something? God has got enough mercy and enough grace to give us a second chance. You know, just by the very book of the Bible we've read out of this morning, it tells me that God is a God of a second chance. Deuteronomy is the second giving of the law. God already said it one time, He didn't have to repeat Himself. He didn't have to have mercy. But He is a God full of mercy and He decided to have mercy and give another chance for Israel. You know something? Israel failed, but God had mercy. God is a patient God. God allowed another generation to grow up and He gave them an opportunity to trust Him. Now, I look at Moses. Moses failed, didn't he? The whole reason Moses doesn't get to go across and do what is in his heart and in his soul, and it's the whole desire for living these 120 years. He's not going to get to do it because he's failed, but God is still merciful and God still allows those that fail to go on. So Preacher Moses blew it. Well, I don't think any of us would claim to be greater than Moses here today. Would you? I mean, Moses failed, didn't he? We already amened that quite heartily, I'd say. But I don't think I'm better than Moses. I never spoke face to face with God Almighty. Amen. I never saw God shake the mountain I'm standing on. Amen. I've never seen the finger of God carve a wall out in the ground. I've never had God hide me in the cleft of a rock and His glory pass by. And I've never been so bright and full of the Holy Ghost that people had to tell me to cover up my face. All I'm saying is that we have all failed and come short, but God is merciful and He gives us a second chance. You know, the first people God created, they failed, didn't they? And God knows that we've all come short in areas of our lives. And it's not my desire this morning to add up our failures, but what I want to encourage us to do is to pick up from where we're at and get up again and go on. Don't let the past define you. Don't let the past be the past, amen? And go on and do something for the Lord. You know, something that there are a lot of things in life that will fail you. Sometimes your heart fails you. In Genesis 42, in verse number 28, when Benjamin's money was put back in his sack, as they traveled back home to Jacob, they found the money that had been put back, and the Bible said their heart failed them, they were so afraid. Sometimes your heart will fail you. I love Winston Churchill. Winston Churchill said, success is not final. You may have had some great success in your Christian life in the past. You know, success is not final, and he said, failure is not fatal. It is the courage to continue that counts. Winston said, never, never, never give up. Amen? And Winston Churchill, great. You know, Albert Einstein said, you never fail until you stop trying. Amen. You know something? You've probably known Christians who failed and quit trying. I like what Thomas Edison, who actually did create the light bulb. Amen. He did invent the light bulb. Amen. You know what Thomas Edison said? He said, I have not failed. He said, I've just found 10,000 ways it won't work. Amen. And you've got to have that kind of attitude. The Bible says in Isaiah 53, that great chapter that shows that Jesus Christ is the one who bore our stripes and paid the sin debt for us. The Bible says in Isaiah 53, 6, all we like sheep have gone astray. We have turned everyone to his own way and the Lord have laid on him the iniquity of us all. The only hope that we have is that God is a forgiving God and he's a God who gives us another chance. Same happened for Jonah, didn't it? The Bible says Jonah disobeyed God. He didn't want to go to Nineveh. And if you'd have been a Jew, you probably wouldn't have wanted to go to Nineveh either. I mean, they were terrible. They had just massacred the people that Jonah loved and preached to. They had been the enemy, the arch enemy and adversary of Israel. And then God says, go preach to the capital city of Syria, Nineveh. And Jonah didn't want to go. Somebody said, but after a trip to Whale University, he was ready to go do whatever God wanted him to do, amen? And after that whale did whatever, however he expelled of Jonah, it was probably not good at all, amen? Probably bad. And we won't think about that anymore. The Bible says the word of the Lord came unto Jonah the second time. God is a God of mercy. Let me just say that everything in this world around you will fail you if that's what you're depending on. You know the Bible says that money will fail. when the children of Israel were there in Egypt's land, and God had sent Joseph there to save life, and God gave him an understanding that there would be plenty, but then there would be a famine. And the Bible says that money failed in the land of Egypt. Now, I'm going to tell you this morning that it's possible, no matter how much money someone has, it's possible that that money will fail you. Amen? The Bible says that sometimes our courage fails us. I don't have time to read every scripture, but the Bible tells us in Luke 21, in verse 26, as we see these last days that are coming upon us, he said, men's hearts failing them for fear and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. Amen? Sometimes our hearts and our courage fails us. Now, why do Christians fail? Have you ever known someone who just got knocked down and never got up? Let me just say that that could happen to me, that could happen to you. But why would that happen? How could that happen? How could a Christian continue to fail? Well, the Bible says in Hebrews chapter 12, I want to just pull your mind to Hebrews 12 for a moment. Hebrews 12, it talks about how Christ is our example, our forerunner, the captain of our salvation. But Hebrews chapter 12 has a lot to say about discipline and correction. The whole chapter, the Bible says that the Lord speaks to us as children, right? And thank God, that's discipline. When a child disobeys and you speak to that child and say, no, no, stop, depending on their level of understanding, you speak to them as children. But then the Bible says that God moves from speaking to, you know, dealing with us more harshly, amen? And I'm just going to turn over there so I don't chop up the scripture. But in Hebrews chapter 12, why is it that God's children sometimes fail? And let me just say, we do not have to fail. But the Bible said in verse 5, and you've forgotten the exhortation, which speaketh unto you as unto children. Sometimes the Lord speaks to us and the children. Then he said he moves from speaking to us as children to rebuking us. He said, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him. That's one thing to be spoken to, but it's another thing to be rebuked. Amen? Just to be told. Now, I told you. I told you a minute ago, don't do that. Stop. Quit. Don't. And you continue to do it. Now, I'm telling you, you are getting ready to get it, right? But then he moves from saying, I spoke to you as a child, I've rebuked you, then in the very next verse he said, for whom the Lord loveth, he chasteneth and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. Now, I don't wanna get off on that. I have bad memories from my childhood, amen. Can I get a whiz? Anybody ever had to go get your own hickory? Had to go get your own hickory. That was wonderful, wasn't it? And it had to be the right size. If it was too small, you was in trouble. And if you come in dragging a log, you know, you were in trouble too. But there's sometimes the Lord will just speak to his children, and they don't get the message. There's times the Lord rebukes us, and our heart's too hard to hear him. Amen? I've got eight children. I've got a few like that, amen? But sometimes they have to be scourged a little. the term around. But why does a child of God continue to fail? In Hebrews chapter 12 and verse number 15 he said, looking diligently, lest any man fail of the grace of God. Lest any root of bitterness spring up, trouble you, and thereby many be defiled. How does a child of God fail? They fail when they fail to allow the grace of God to correct them. How is it that people get completely out of the will of God and go back into the ditch of sin and backsliding a place that we thought and hoped that they would never go? We've all known people like that. I've known people like that that had a good testimony of being born again and temptation and sin and they just didn't want to take hold enough to God. I'm telling you, you can't have two masters. You're going to have to let go of one of them because one of them is going to be your master. But the main thought here is that people fell of the grace of God. And this is a quotation from Deuteronomy 29. In Deuteronomy 29, the Hebrew writer is repeating in Hebrews 12 and 15 what was said in Deuteronomy 29, 18. He said, lest there should be among you a man or woman or family or tribe whose heart turneth away from the Lord, are God to go and to serve the gods of these nations, lest there should be among you a root that beareth gall and wormwood." You know, that failing, continue to fail in your Christian journey is just being unwilling to let God correct you. Continuing in failure in whatever area it is of our life or ministry or family, if there is failure in any area, the grace of God can fix it. Amen. God can give us the grace of God that will fix it. God's a merciful God. He'll forgive your sin. He'll give you a second chance. But you've got to be willing to not fail with the grace of God. Let the grace of God fix your life. Amen. You say, how can I do that? I can tell you a good first step, get faithful to the house of God. I can tell you a good second step, get faithful to the word of God. Amen. I can give you a good third step, get faithful in prayer every day. Tell God I can't, but you can. Lord, will you help me? God, will you lift me up above what has beaten me? God, will you give me the victory through Christ and through the grace of God? And God will do that. But the Bible says here that when we fail in the grace of God, there is a root of bitterness that springs up and troubles us. And that word trouble there, it means to be crowded in with trouble and annoyance. And the Bible talks about in the New Testament people being vexed with unclean spirits. And living outside the will of God is not a happy place. Amen. But it is a place of continual fear, continual distress. You know, the Bible says Lot lived in disobedience to the will of God, and Lot was vexed. 2 Peter 2, 7, delivered just Lot, vexed with a filthy conversation of the wicked. For that righteous man dwelling among them, seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deals. So how is it that Christians fail. It's because they do not let the grace of God correct them. Now, there are times that people's faith fail. There are times that people have a failure of faith. Have y'all ever just been there where it just was really just very, very hard for you to just get hold of faith and believe God? I'm not talking about saving faith. I'm talking about when you just got in some sort of a pit in the Christian life, a place of discouragement, and you just felt like there was no way out, no hope. Amen. Can I just confess to you, I have been in some of those places where I just thought, I'm never gonna be able to get out of this. I've been those places where I felt like I was just being destroyed. Can I tell you, the Lord's grace can bring you back out of those places and give you the victory again and give you faith again. The Bible says in Luke 22, verse 32, as the Lord Jesus spoke to Peter. There's so many sermons that a man can preach. You know what Christ said to Peter? Peter said, I'm ready, I'm ready, I'm ready. He said, I'm ready to go with you, to die with you. I'm ready. But Peter didn't know he wasn't ready. Then Jesus said to Peter in Luke's gospel, chapter 22, verse 32, he said, but I prayed for thee. What did he say? He said, Satan had desired to have you, he might sift you as wheat, right? But Jesus said, but I have prayed for you. Aren't you glad the Lord does not leave us to the vices of the adversary, but he is there as our great high priest to pray for us. And he said, I prayed for thee that thy faith fail not. And when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren. Now, how many of you have been converted? You've been saved, hallelujah. But can I tell you, there is a conversion for the converted. How many of you have a cell phone that you charge in your car? When you're at home, you can plug that thing in the wall, can't you? It's made to be plugged in the wall. But they make this thing called a converter. that will make it run from DC or AC to AC, I don't know which one it is, I don't know which one's home and which one's the car, forgive me. Brother Harold could tell us all of that, I know he could. But they convert it, right? What's coming out of your 12 volt thereabouts in your vehicle, there's that little thing you plug in there, cigarette lighter or whatever kind of thing you got in your car, and you plug it in and it uses the car, which is a different kind of power than that phone is used to. It changes that power that it would not normally be able to run off of. It takes away that normal current that it's used to being charged off of, and it changes it to a different kind of a current. And when it's changed to that different kind of a current in that converter, it's able to be charged off of something that's not what it was built for. Now Peter has been running off his own power, amen. He's been, nobody's red-headed here, he's been running off his own red hair, amen. He's been running out of that personality. He's been running out of that personal strength. He's been running out of that strong personality. And we've known people that have that kind of thing, they call it a type A personality, that kind of personality, they'll go get her. But you know, when that kind of person hits a wall, they hit it hard. They go from I can do anything to I don't want to live. Right? They go from the biggest shouter to the biggest powder in one service. Hallelujah. Amen. I have pastored some of them. Woo-hoo. Hallelujah. I've been one of them. You know what Jesus told Simon? He said, I am going to help you get converted to where you quit running off of the power you've been running on and you learn how to run on the power of God in your life. I just tell you something, a child of God needs to be converted. I'm telling you, you can run on a good bank account if you've got one. But if you don't have one, what are you going to do? I'm going to tell you, either way, if it's not faith, it's not pleasing to God. Amen. I'll just tell you, can I just tell you something? The Lord has to, what we want to see done at our little church, our little church, we have almost no Sunday school room, almost no fellowship room, almost no nursery area. We just barely got bathrooms. Say amen right there. We just barely got bathrooms. Thank God we got there. But what I feel like the Lord's put in our heart is to add 40 feet on our building so we could have a little bit of room for Sunday school, a little bit of room for fellowship. I worked full-time the whole year of 2015. Our church just got down in the bottom. Financially, I just didn't, I didn't even know, I just felt, I have to go to work. I could skip, I just didn't feel like I could continue, you know, to be a full-time pastor and take a salary. The church was struggling so bad. I don't know what happened in 2016, y'all. I won't talk about that anymore either. Something good happened. But I'm gonna say God did something for our church. So about, I guess about a year ago, two years ago, I told churches, I feel like what God wants us to do. You know what I thought? I thought, well, we'll just start this building fund, hallelujah. And people will just give and God will just do this work. And our people are giving to that building fund. But can I tell you what God did? God increased our general fund. You say, how did that happen? I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. Is it rich to have millionaires join your church? No. Have any rich people? Not to my knowledge. It's just, God began to add a little here to the church, a little there to the church, had some people, just a few, and can I just tell you, God is getting us to a place where if it's His will and by His grace, that we'll be able to do that somehow. I mean, for a little church like us to be able to do that, the faith, that to me is like a mountain being moved. But we've got to have the faith to believe God. Instead of living life as a Christian in failure, we've got to live it by faith. Let me close with just a few more thoughts. And we think about all these things that can fail. But there are things that cannot fail. We read about how the Lord said he's not gonna fail, but I'm so glad he said he won't fail you. He won't fail me. There's some things that won't fail. When you lay your treasures up in heaven, they never fail. Did you know that? Won't that be interesting? I've laid up some treasures down here and somehow they got failed, amen? It didn't take long for them to get negative, amen? But treasures laid up in heaven, you know what Jesus said about that? Jesus said in Luke 12, 33, said, sell that ye have and give alms. Provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not. Where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth. Amen. Thank God there are treasures in heaven that fail not. In Matthew 6, 20, Jesus said, lay up treasures in heaven where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt and where thieves do not break through and steal. So when you lay your treasures up in heaven, that never fails. The love of God never fails. I talked to my son, I was coming up the road this morning, and I was telling him about some things I wanted him to announce in the service this morning. And I said, son, what are you preaching on? And he said, I'm preaching on 1 Corinthians 13. I said, love. You know something, the love of God never fails. I'll just tell you something about the Lord. He'll never quit loving people. Amen. He'll never... That's another sermon I thought about preaching this morning. You know, the Lord loves everybody. But there are some people who love God. You know, God loves everybody the same, doesn't he? But there are some people that love God. Amen. You know, if I get to go back by the house this afternoon on the way home, I've got a four-year-old little boy there. And if that door swings open, you know what's gonna happen? I'm gonna hear, hopefully, please don't let me down, John. But usually when I open that door and I walk through it, I hear, Daddy! I love my 14-year-old daughter. I love my two 11-year-old sons. I love my six-year-old daughter. And once in a while, she hears him say daddy, and she hollers daddy, amen. I love all my kids, amen. But I've got three that are grown that can't even get them to hardly answer the phone sometimes. Can I get a witness, amen? Come on now, yes, amen. God loves all of us. But there's some that really love God. I want to be one of them like John, you know, that love God. The love of God never fails. Charity never faileth. 1 Corinthians 13, 8. Whether there be prophecies, they shall fail. Whether there be tongues, they shall cease. Whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. But charity never faileth. The Word of God never fails. First Peter 123, being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible by the word of God, which liveth and abideth forever. Wait a second, preacher, I'm saying God's word will never fail you, amen. Stand upon it, live upon it, trust upon it. Let me just say this, the church doesn't have to fail either, amen. Amen! I don't believe it's the will of God for the church to fail. The Bible said in Matthew 16, 18, And I say unto thee that thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Amen. Well, it could go on and on. The compassions of God towards His people never fail. I love Lamentations chapter 3. Most of Lamentations is sad and weeping and terrible. But Lamentations 3, verse 21 down through about verse 25 are just wonderful, amen. In the midst of the nightmare that Jeremiah's living in, he said, this I recall to mind, therefore have I hope. Amen. Here's some hope for people who are losing hope. He said, I recall this to mind and I have hope. He said, it is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning. Great is our faithfulness. The Lord is my portion, saith my soul. Therefore will I hope in Him, the Lord. is good unto them that wait for him, for the soul that seeketh him. It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord, the Lord's compassions. You know, I studied that word, compassions, one time. Thank God his compassions fail not. That word, compassions, it speaks of the place within an expectant mother where she cherishes that unborn baby. And that's the place that's closest to mama's heart that that child will ever be. Amen. And I'm thankful that the Lord's compassion. God carries his children real close to his heart. Amen. His love never fails. Christ never fails. Joshua is told here by Moses, the Lord won't fail you. He won't fail you. And then at the end of Joshua's life, you know what he's telling people? The end of Joshua's ministry and his life, in Joshua 21, verse 45, he said, there failed not of any good thing which the Lord hath spoken unto the house of Israel. All came to pass. You know, Joshua walked into this ministry being given that word that the Lord will not fail thee or forsake thee. And when he had traveled through life and traveled through the work God gave him, he left this life saying that there failed not all of any good thing which the Lord has spoken in the house of Israel. All came to pass. Joshua 23 14 he said behold this day I'm going the way of all the earth and you know in your hearts and in all your souls That not one thing that failed of all the good things which the Lord your God spake concerning you All are come to pass unto you and not one thing hath failed thereof. That's a whole lot of not failing. Amen I'm glad the Lord will never fail you You may have had a failure in life in some way, but the Lord Jesus Christ is able to restore you and restore whatever you've been through. He can restore your heart. You know when people really become a failure is when they quit trying, amen. There's hope for everybody who chooses hope. How do you find hope? Well, you ask God for forgiveness for your failure, or you grant forgiveness. Sometimes you have to forgive other people, amen, to have the victory yourself. So let me ask you something. Is there any failures in your life? Is your prayer life failing? Is your faith life failing? You still believe God? It's one thing to believe God can, but do you believe he will? Amen. Hey, I know God can do. Something for pastor so and so. But do I believe God could do something for me? Is your prayer life failing? Is your faith life failing? Is your witness powerful as it ought to be? How's your love for God? How's your love for his word? Is there any failing in that? Do you love the work of God like you should? You know the. The longer I live, the older I get. Can I get an amen right there? You know what I find out, the older I get, I don't have all the energy I used to have. Lord have mercy. I remember some of them early revival meetings we had at Little River. I was just in my early 30s. And I'm telling you, we just sing God and glory during those days. And I remember those nights that I had to run people off at 2 a.m. I had to run them out of the church to get them off the property because I lived on the property. Like, y'all got to get out of my yard. Amen. Hey, I don't have all the physical strength that I used to have, but I want to have the faith that God wants me to have. I want to do what I can for the Lord. and not make excuses about what I can't do. Do we love the work of God? Do we love the Word of God? Do we love the worship of God? That's one thing I like to see happy Christians. Amen. That's been a blessing to me already to see people smile in church. Really smile in church. I love that. Amen. You know something, it would be better to be a failure in wealth many times. I've seen people who, I talked to one of my preacher friends back home and he had just bought a metal building and put it up, he took it down off one guy's property and put it up on his property. And that person was somebody who had, he had won the lottery twice. But he had lost his family, and he had lost everything. And they were coming to repossess his home. And my preacher friend said, he sold me this building for nearly nothing, because he said, they're coming to repossess everything I've got. If you'll take it down, you can have it for cheap. I'm going to tell you something right now. It would be better to be a failure in wealth many times over than to be a failure to Christ and the will of God. You know, the Bible tells us what should a prophet of man be, you know. Do everything in this world, gain it all, and lose his own soul. Well, I have, I have been to those places in my life where I felt like, good night, I have blown it. but I have experienced the mercy of almighty God, the Lord Jesus' love in my life. God's given me, I don't know how many second chances the Lord's given me. Can I tell you, he can give you one today if you need it. Whatever you need, if your faith has failed somewhere, he can restore that. If your hope, if your love has failed somewhere, I don't know what you may be personally experiencing, but the Lord knows all about it. and he knows how to meet the need in all of our lives preacher you come and take service to what you need to do thank you all for letting me be here and I just encourage you the best I know how to do that the Lord will not fail you.
