When many people think of living on an ark with several thousand
animals for a year, they wonder, what did Noah and his family
do with all the animal waste? After all, these animals may
have produced 11 tons of waste a day. Well, there were several
ways to deal with this. Caged floors could have been
slatted, allowing waste to fall beneath. Or sloped floors could
have forced the waste into gutters that flowed into pits. These
could have been emptied overboard. Now, it wouldn't have smelled
nice on board, but until modern times, most people lived with
their farm animals. They likely got used to the odor quickly.
Although the time on the Ark wouldn't have been easy, it certainly
