One more time, God has allowed
us to come together one more time. Certainly we know we are
privileged as people of our Christ because he has allowed us the
privilege of being in this place. This is a place of prayer, place
of his presence, place of his power, and place of his provision. we can receive from the Lord
as we gather in the house of the Lord together. The Bible
says, wherever two or three are gathered in his name, there he
is also in the midst. So we thank him for being present. And as the word says, a present
help in our times of trouble. And he knows those who trust
We are commanded by way of the word to trust in the Lord and
lean not into our own understanding. In all our ways we are to acknowledge
him and he will direct our paths. Amen. We are blessed. Blessed
indeed. Psalm 25, let me take us back
as we start this year of study. Let's go back to familiar ground.
Let's go back to our preparatory passage. Psalm 25, sentences
1 through 5. In you, O Lord, I put my trust. I trust in you. Do not let me
be put to shame, nor let my enemies triumph over me. No one who hopes
in you will ever be put to shame. But shame will come on those
who are treacherous without cause. Show me your ways, Lord, teach
me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach
me. For you are the God of my Savior,
and my hope is in you all day long. All right, John chapter
14. John chapter 14, verse 26. John chapter 15 verse 26 and
John chapter 16 verses 13, 14. Verse 26 of John 14, but the
advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name,
will teach you all things and will remind you of everything
I have said. to you he will teach and remind
amen he is our spiritual bank memory bank amen you have to
let the holy spirit work once you read trust him to remind
you amen he will remind you all right john chapter 15 verse 26 When the advocate comes, whom
I will send to you from the father, the spirit of truth who goes
out from the father, he will testify for you. He would testify about me. So
he, he governs our conversations. Amen. You are not at liberty
to just say whatever you want to. When the Holy Spirit is in
charge, the conversation is Christian. Amen. Y'all look at somebody
and say, have a Christian conversation. Yeah, the conversation is Christian
when he's in charge. So you need to let him be in
charge everywhere you go. All places you be, you need to
let him be in charge because you need Christian conversation. The world is in need of Christian
conversation. Amen. As people have gone awry,
they need Christ-centered conversations. All right, here's the last, John
chapter 16, verses 13 and 14. Now, let me back up to verse
12 so you understand what he's saying in verses 13 and 14. I have much more to say to you
more than you can now bear so the holy spirit helps us bear
the word of god you see it all right now let's go but when he
the spirit of truth comes he will guide you into all the truth
he will not speak on his own he will speak only what he hears
and he will tell you what is yet to come he will glorify me
because it is from me that he will receive what he will make
known to you amen amen so we see the workings of the holy
spirit and how he deals with us as god's people and how we
need him to be in charge, to be active. You don't want the
spirit dormant in your life. You want the spirit active in
your life. Amen. Amen. Because he has a role to play.
He's the third person of the Godhead. We know that he is from
the father through Christ. And he has been given to us to
operate the will of God on earth as it is in heaven. Amen. That's your task. That's your
responsibility to operate as citizens of his kingdom. You
have never been to heaven before, but you have heavenly help to
help you live a life that's pleasing to God, a life that's according
to God's standard. Amen. So we have help. We see the word calls him the
advocate. The advocate. Now we, last year,
dealt with the Holy Spirit and how he ministers to us and what
we have received from him. That, you know, he has power
to operate and to connect us with God and to make sure that
we are within the parameters of God's will. You don't want
to operate as a child of God outside of the will of God. If you are expecting your life
to be blessed, can I just talk it out tonight? You want to make
sure that you are within the wheel. Don't suppose the wheel. You know, the Bible tells us
not to lean to our own understanding, but we ought to trust Him. And
in all our ways, we ought to what? Acknowledge Him. And He'll
do what? Direct. There is a way that seems
right under man, but the end thereof is destruction. So you don't want to suppose
or assume the will of God. The Holy Spirit helps us know
the will of God. You know that little sensation
you feel when you are going in the wrong direction or you're
doing the wrong thing? The Holy Spirit is trying to
bring you back in and line you back up. On these vehicles, you
know, you have to put your signal light on these new vehicles in
order to do a lane change. And some of you are fighting
the Holy Spirit. He's just vibrating and trying to get you to stay
in that lane. And you're fighting the Holy
Spirit, and He's trying to keep you straight. Y'all know what
I'm talking about? You know, these cars have sensors
on them. And you need sensors on your life so that when you
try to make a wrong turn, or you try to get in the wrong lane,
there's some vibration going on. Kinda get you back in line
with where you're supposed to be. So we see the workings of
the Holy Spirit. Tonight, I wanna deal with the
omnipotence of God reveal. the omnipotence of God revealed
by way of the Holy Spirit. That he is the manifestation
of God's power. That apart from the Holy Spirit,
you won't experience the power of God. You know, in the first
church, they had to wait on the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ gave
them instructions to go into Jerusalem and tarry and wait
for the coming of the Holy Spirit. And the Bible says when the Holy
Spirit showed up, there were signs and wonders and demonstrations. The Holy Spirit took control
of them. The omnipotence of God took control
of them in such a way that they look like drunk men. Now, there's, there's, you know,
parallel, there's, you know, we see the illustration of how
the spirit works, uh, in Acts chapter two, uh, when he comes
in, he takes control and you have to surrender yourself to
the control of the Holy Spirit and stop fighting him. You know,
you come to church and he tell you to say man, and you just
sit there quiet. Or he said, get up and clap your
hands, and you just said, well, I'm not going to do it today.
But when he comes in, he takes control. And the Bible says that
he was in such control that the men seemed drunk. In other words,
they seemed to be intoxicated by something. You know, they
seemed to be drunken men. And you know, in Ephesians, the
Bible tells us not to be drunk with wine, where in excess, but
be ye filled, which means to be controlled by. So the omnipotence
of God is manifest through the Holy Spirit in our lives. That when you are truly surrendered
to the Holy Spirit, he moves you beyond who you are. And he moves you into the realm
of the supernatural so that there can be, you know, intimacy and
communing with God. See, when you come to church,
you can't afford to come to church and not commune with God. Sometimes
you're holding yourself back from communing with God because
you're so stuck in being who you are and responding like you
normally respond or you're afraid of how people will perceive you. But he's omnipotence of God reveal. Look with me on the sheet. The
dynamo. of power inherent in the person
of the Holy Spirit distributes God's omnipotence through seven
different power lines, each operating in a revelation of Jesus Christ. So you cannot experience the
omnipotence of God, for lack of better words, ignorantly. You need to know, you need to
have received revelation of Jesus Christ so that the Holy Spirit
has free course to move in your life. You can't worship God without
truth. You remember what Jesus said
to the woman? God is looking for those who
will worship him in what? Spirit and truth. So you can't have a part of it
and think that you have worship of God or you are worshiping
God. No, it requires both spirit and
truth. Because God wants to be worshiped
the way he wants to be worshiped. So you have to decrease and get
out of the way so the Holy Spirit can give you revelation. You need revelation. You need
Christ revealed. So you can experience the omnipotence
of God. Now we talk about seven power
lines. The first is Arche. The second
is Egeusia. The third is Escu. The fourth is Didomi. The fourth is Megalahatas. The sixth is Enerhia. And the seventh is Kratos. Seven
lines, power lines. Seven power lines. One spirit. Seven power lines. Okay. All right tonight. I want to
deal with RK RK and I've tried to give us a working definition
of what RK means We see that that that it means prior Original
First Operating source of action or originating source of action,
excuse me. Divine power that can create
out of nothing. Power that brings forth from
itself as the source. In other words, it doesn't rely
on or depend on anything or anyone else. We see that it also means creative
power. So let's go over them again.
means prior, original, first, originating
source of action, cause, divine power that can create out of
nothing, power that brings forth from itself as the source, creative
power. Now, let's look at some expressions
of RK. We see RK in the very beginning
when the Godhead created, okay? We see the power of God, the
omnipotence of God exercise, manifests from the very beginning. So we see the creation of the
universe. The creation of the universe.
Now Genesis chapter one, verses two and three, the earth was
without form and void and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the spirit of God, capital
S, was hovering over the face of the waters. Then God said,
let there be light. and there was light. Now, look
at it again. The spirit of God was hovering. Here's the picture. The picture
is that of a hen and the eggs in a nest, and that
hen is setting the nest, hovering, because the hen knows that when
she sets the nest, then she's bringing forth. Unattended eggs
don't hatch. Oh. Unattended eggs don't hatch. So if the earth was not being
hovered by the Holy Spirit, nothing would have happened. So what we see here is, is that
the Holy Spirit had a role in creation. Because nothing happened
until God said, remember, it requires revelation. God has
to say something. And when God said something,
he activated the manifestation of his power in the person of
the Holy Spirit to bring to pass what he said. As long as God said nothing,
the Spirit just hovered. And I'll show it to you in a
minute in Scripture. Beyond Genesis chapter one, it's important for
us to understand that Spirit and Word goes together. That you can't be no more spiritual
than your revelation. You cannot be ignorantly inspired. I'm trying to help us. See, if
you're gonna shout, you need to know why. You don't need to be mimicking
somebody else. You need some revelation. God
needs to be revealed in your life. Christ needs to be revealed
in your life, not only through, you know, experiences, but through
the word of God so that your worship, your response to God
will be appropriate and a pleasing to God. So the spirit hovered over the
face of the waters. Then God said, let there be light
and the Holy Spirit turn the switch on. See, one thing I discovered is
that we can't turn on the light in our own lives. We need the Holy Spirit to turn
the light on. That ought to be our prayer.
You know, after living such a devastating life in darkness, we all desire
light. So he turns the light on. So
now the Holy Spirit is the agent of creation. That the Holy Spirit
is the indivisible power that animates humans and all creation. There is no life apart from the
Holy Spirit. The Bible calls us dead. If you're
unsaved, the Bible calls you dead. So He animates. He brings to
life. He brings to being life. He helps us live. Now, in the Old Testament, I
want us to see it, the Spirit is often translated as wind or
breath. Wind or breath. You know, when God created Adam,
the Bible says he what? Breathe into him the what? Breath of life. You see that? Adam had the spirit so he could
be connected with God. Prior to the fall, that's why
he enjoyed communion with God in the garden before he received
of the forbidden fruit. So he had the spirit of God in
him. So when God would come in the
garden in the cool of the day walking, the Bible uses anthropomorphism
to describe the voice of God because voices don't have legs. But the Bible says that his voice
came walking in the cool of the day. Just to give us a picture
of God and how God communed with Adam and Eve. And they would
run to God. But after they sinned, The spirit
was severed and they had nothing to commune with God with. See,
you can't commune with God in your flesh. It requires the spirit of God
inside. And I'm getting somewhere. I'm
going somewhere with this now, because I want you to understand
that the spirit working on the inside of you, and I'm going
to deal with this in just a minute. He makes you a new creature. So God is not so much dealing
with the old you. He's dealing with the new you. I'm sorry. Let's look at, you know, in the
Old Testament spirit, considered as we in a breath, Psalm 33.
Psalm 33, verse six. Psalm 33, verse six. Psalm 33,
verse six. Listen to, and you see the creative
power of the Holy Spirit. Now watch this, it says what?
By the word of the Lord, the heavens were made. You see it, the starry host by
the what? Breath of his mouth. You see that? Holy Spirit is
often translated as wind or breath. All right, let's look at Job
26, Job 26 verse 13. It says, by his breath, the skies
became fair. Look at that. His hand pierced
the gliding serpent. So we see that the Holy Spirit
has what? Creative power. Creative power. Again in just a minute. I'm gonna
show you how he's working in you to create a new you So you
have to give up some you have to give up the old you So that
the Holy Spirit can create within you a new you I'm going in a minute. Okay I'm
new So all that stuff I did in the past You know, I'm new. He has wiped all that away. I
don't care how much you try to remind me. What I've done, you
know, people that you haven't seen in a long time, you know,
they have a knack of saying, you know, you remember when?
No, I'm a new person now. I got convenient all-timers,
some-timers, and any-timers. I don't want to remember. I'm
new. And you have to know that because it's a constant being
made new. So you are never to be blackmailed
by the devil concerning the old you. Because even yesterday is
considered the old you. Because he's constantly making
you what? A new. Oh, I'm a new, I'm a new me. So he has creative power. Now
let's look at the Holy Spirit's role in the incarnation. In the incarnation. And we'll
look at Luke chapter one, verse 35. And the angel answered and
said to her, the Holy Spirit will come upon you. And the power
of the highest will overshadow you therefore also that Holy
one Who is to be born will be called the son of god So the
incarnation now hear me the concept Or the conception of christ Was
unique Because he didn't have an earthly father So the Holy
Spirit, notice the Holy Spirit moved upon the virgin, upon a
virgin, and it was more than just a sign that Jesus is no
mere man, but the precursor of the new creation by the Spirit,
the Holy Spirit, the divine glory dwelling among men. So he's the
first, He came to show us, to reveal unto us what God is really
doing in us and with us because the Holy Spirit is in us. So that this whole idea, whole
concept of the virgin birth, how the Holy Spirit moved upon
Mary and formed a human body. so that the word could be fulfilled,
Emmanuel, God with us. So he's dwelling on the inside.
Now let's look at it. Because in the Old Testament,
the Holy Spirit manifests God's glory to Israel in earthly tabernacle
and temple. So it's not through an earthly
tabernacle or temple now we are the temple the house for the Holy Spirit
so God wants to what reveal his glory through us so the Holy Spirit is working
to reveal God's glory in us and through us. Are we together? So we are the
temple. We are the tabernacle. We are the place of his Holy
Spirit. So you don't have to welcome the Holy Spirit into
the sanctuary because when you walk in, he comes with you. You know, we say, well, if you
come in, if you don't stay long, he going to stay as long as you
stay. I think you're saying something,
you know, call the Spirit if you come on in and come on in
if you don't stay long. We be praying, we be praying
so much vain stuff in church, you know. Feel this house. He already in
you. He's in you. And so you have
to know how to relate, and that's why I'm dealing with this, because
we say a whole lot of vain stuff. Sounds good, but there's no biblical
basis to it. And see, when you get up and
leave, guess what? There it is. He told you he's your helper,
he's your company keeper, he's your advocate. So he doesn't
come and go in your life like in the Old Testament, you know,
they would pray and then the Holy Spirit would come and go,
come and go, come and go. No, he has taken up permanent
residence in you. And so you are always indwelt
by the Holy Spirit. Now, when the Bible speaks of
being filled, that really means to be controlled by. because
there's only one feeling. When he comes into your life,
he's in to stay. When he comes into your heart, he's in to stay.
When he comes into your soul, he's in to stay. So he's not
leaving out and coming back in, but what can happen because you
ignore him, you can become desensitized. Wherein it feels as if he has
vacated. And it happens because you have
seared the conscience. You're no longer sensitive to the Holy Spirit. So you have to stay sensitive. You know, it's like a relationship.
A relationship, a marriage, or a friendship can grow dull. If you're not nurturing and if
you're not doing maintenance, on friendships and relationships
and marriage, you know, it grow dull. And you can be in the same
house and not even seem like it and not feel like it. Y'all say amen. Cause y'all make me start digging
now. Cause you know, you watch TV in two
different rooms. Sleep in two different rooms?
Drive two different cars? You just share the same address. Come to church and your holding
of hands don't even look right? They know you ain't together. Because it has grown dull. There's
no sensitivity to the relationship and the friendship. and the marriage. And it can happen the same way
with the Holy Spirit. He's in there, but you have ignored
him so long. And when you constantly ignore
him, you forget how he sounds. You forget how or what he says. You forget how he wants to control.
And so you, you set up authority. You want to be in a position
of authority and control. And so you are no longer yielded. And so when you wake up on Sunday
and the Holy Spirit said, go to church. And then you go to talk about
how you feel. You done had a two week headache. See, so you're no longer sensitive.
And if he says do this or do that, you no longer respond immediately
to the prompting of the Holy Spirit because you have ignored
him. You have become desensitized
to the voice and guidance of the Holy Spirit. So we see That he's a part of
the incarnation. He was a part of the incarnation.
That the conception of Christ is unique. That he wants to live
in us, not meet us here in this sanctuary. And once we are done
with our worship, we leave him here and we go on about our week
as if he's no longer with us. No, he's inside us. So when you
come down front, And you say, well, I want to give the preacher
my hand and give God my heart. I want to be saved. The Holy
spirit right then takes up residence in you. Now you need to, you need, you,
you have to learn how to let him be in charge because you
know, babies often fight against parents. You know, a lot of that
crying is nothing but trying to have their own way. And so,
even as a babe in Christ, that's why Bible study is so important,
that you come in and learn how to respond, how to yield to the
Lord, and how to yield to the moving and working of the Holy
Spirit, so you won't cry so much, and you won't experience so much
hardship in your life. See, when you fight God, Lord,
help me teach this today. When you live your life outside
of the will of God, understand you are only making for yourself
a hard life. That's why we're stressing this
so much is because we don't want you to live a hard life. The
Bible says the way of the transgressor is what? Hard. There are no exceptions
because it's you. So he wants to live within. Now
in Haggai chapter two verse five, notice according to the word
that I covenanted with you when you came out of Egypt, so my
spirit remains among you, do not fear. Thank you, Lord. So the Holy Spirit is preparing
the body, the human tabernacle for Emmanuel. Because you do
not want to just say he's Emmanuel and not know him as Emmanuel. God with us. See, that's why
the Church of old would say he walked with me. So y'all thought
I was just saying some and just hooping some out, but that's
true. He's, he walks with me. He talks with me and he tells
me that I am his all. See that? So, so he's Emmanuel
in my life. If I don't have anyone else, he's in my life. If everyone
else decides to walk away and walk out of my life, I'm not
alone. and the Holy Spirit stamps me,
gives me that blessed assurance and approval that I'm not alone, that God is with me. And listen,
you get some courage when you can settle inside that God is
with you. If God before you, you worried about people on your
job, You're worried about people out in the retail stores and
people at places you go. And the Bible says, if God before
you, who can be against you? I don't stay up at night worried
about what folk can do to me. I got somebody. I got somebody
with me and he told me to stand still. and see the salvation,
which means that he will take my part in war. He's my battle
act. I'm trying to help us change
our minds and experience the joy and the peace that we should
because we're trying to fight it too much ourselves. Reverend, why are you always
smiling? You know who with me? You all be happy if you know
God, would you? You all be smiling. So we see that we have no reason
to fear. Fear is a weapon of Satan that he can control by fear as
God controls by faith. Y'all missed it. So you want
to live your life. You don't want to live your life
in fear. You want to live your life in faith. That's why the
Bible says we walk by faith. We don't have, we don't have
a need to fear because he says he's with us. So the Holy spirit
is preparing the human tabernacle for Emmanuel. So that God, the
son dwells among men in human flesh. Thank you. Joel R. Beach, in his article,
What Was the Holy Spirit's Role in Incarnation, said, Christ
would not be the God-man apart from the power of the Holy Spirit
forming his humanity from Mary's flesh. that God's promises hinge
upon this great work, that all the Spirit's saving operations
on men and women through Christ spring from His work in this
one man, the last Adam. Therefore, let us glorify God,
the Father, God, the Holy Spirit forever. for the virgin birth
now here's the last thing and I'm done he deals with creation
he deals with incarnation but then there's a new creation now
here's our shout because I said a few minutes ago that we are
constantly being made anew so that the era of your day Never
if you confess God forgive is never held against you God makes you new every Let's look at it John chapter
6 verse 63 Says it is the Spirit who gives life The flesh profits
nothing. The words that I speak to you
are spirit and they are life. That the Holy Spirit is the transformative
power of Christ through the word he speaks. So you're receiving the word
of God. Listen, on Sundays when I'm preaching,
that word is at you. That's why y'all think I'm picking
at you and picking on you because, you know, God has your address
and he knows your seat where you sat at on Sunday. And he
works with you. He's working with you. You know,
you're thinking, pastor must have been around the house. See, the spirit of God and the
word of God works together. So by the time the word leaves
my mouth, and it hits your ear is what God needs it to be to
have a thump in your life. It just hits you. Boom. And I'm just preaching and just
preaching. I'm just preaching. Boom. Boom. God is trying to beat that old
man out of that old woman out of you and create a new man. See, it is the spirit who gives
life. Isn't it something that God has
to fight us to live? That we are so resistant and
reluctant to give up what's killing us. You ever thought about that?
That he has to fight us to give us life. Every Sunday, every
Tuesday, every Wednesday, it's a wrestling match with you. Every
time you sit over the word of God and read the word of God,
God is sitting there wrestling with you. Get you to give up who you are
so he can create anew in you. It's a tussle every day. That's
why it's so hard to pray. It's so hard to read scripture.
Satan gets busy. When you want to read scripture,
you get sleepy. You know, if you got a case of
insomnia, start reading the scripture at night. You'll wake up, you'll wake up
with your face in the Bible the next morning. So it's a struggle. He's fighting
to give you life. And you're resisting it because
you want things to stay as they have always been. No. He wants to create a new in your
life. A new you. So we see it's the spirit. who's the transformative power
of Christ through the word of Christ. First Peter chapter one,
verse 22 and 23, since you have purified your souls in obeying
the truth through the spirit in sincere love of the brethren. Now notice you didn't do it yourself
now. He puts a through. the Spirit in sincere love of
the brother and love one another fervently with the pure heart
having been born again not of corruptible but of incorruptible
prove the Word of God which lives and abides forever notice every
time you see the moving of the Holy Spirit you see the Word
of God are y'all with me? So the spirit
of God is working the word of God in your life to transform
your life. Peter says we didn't do it on
our own. He says, since you have purified your souls in obeying
the truth through, so you have help, the paraclete. He's helping us obey the word
of God, the word of truth. so that we'll be sincere as we
not only relate to God, but as we relate one to another. Don't
you hate fake folks? There's nothing Christian about
being fake, being a phony. The Bible says we ought to be
sincere in our love. In other words, if you say you
love me, love me. Don't just say it. Because I'm
hearing what you're saying. He says that we are to love one
another with sincere love. Love one another fervently. That would be some passion. Heartfelt passion. He says we've
been born again. There's nothing corrupt about
loving when you're real and sincere. In other words, he says, through
the word of God, which lives and abides forever. In other
words, don't come up with your own way. I told you he's fighting us now.
You know, he has to fight us with love. He has to fight us
with forgiveness. You know, and I, you know, I
want to deal with that, but I don't have time tonight to deal with
how he fights us with love. You know, we want to pick and
choose who we love. Or we want to love people with
a certain socioeconomic status. Or we want to love people that
have not wronged us. And in a sly-like way, hate people
who have. See, you can't do this your own
way. I'll never forget when I first took on the pastorate at Joseph
Creek. May have been a year or two after.
Had a young lady that got killed by her boyfriend. She had two
sons, and those boys were furious, and several sisters. And the
man that killed her went to prison. And the sisters and the sons,
I had to counsel. And I said to them, extend forgiveness. and love. And they said, well, what does
that look like? A person that has done this to
my sister. What does this look like? What
does it look like, Reverend? What does it look like, pastor?
I could feel the tension. And so the man in prison started
writing them, asking for forgiveness and asking them to pray for him
to be saved. And they would come into the
office with those letters. Reverend, how can I pray for
this man that has taken the life of my sister? How can I forgive? How can I
let it go? I said, just like Christ said
to. It don't take and require understanding.
See, that's where some of us trying to get to. You're trying to understand your
way. But the scripture says we are to love sincerely. And as you think on life and
look back over the landscape of your life, the most horrendous
and horrific thing that has ever happened to you, the person who
done it to you, can you love them sincerely? If not, this is an area of your
life you need to yield to the Holy Spirit so he can help you
overcome. What does it look like? See,
we talk a lot of this in church, but we are not really doing it. We haven't set it in motion and
at practice in our lives because it's easier to say. was a young
lady jumped on my mom in church. I told y'all Sunday, if I could
show y'all my mind and roll out my emotions, you'll see the scars,
the mental and the emotional scars. Jumped on my mom, mom
just trying to help her. And mom is a strong lady because,
you know, now that young lady and mom, they on talking basis
and mom would do whatever she can for. But that young lady
was in high school and jumped on my mom and my mom never hated
her. And then I had to pastor the
two. And had to love her. And look
out for her. Wish her well. What does it look like? Does it look like animosity? Does it look like tension? See, when the Spirit is in charge, it looks like what the Bible
said it is. You know, the Bible constantly,
or the Bible tells us not to let the sun go down on our wrath. That's not to say don't go to
sleep angry. What it's saying is, don't let
anger consume and control your life. Because you hung up on
what someone has done to you. What someone has done can shut
the sun out of your life. If you don't manage it by way
of the Holy Spirit, it'll manage you. What does your love look like? It looks like what God says in
the Word. Let me read it to you again and
I'm done. Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth
through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, this ought
to be a place of sincerity. Love one another fervently with
a pure heart having being born again, not of corruptible seed,
but incorruptible through the word of God, which lives and
abides forever. Thank you, Holy Spirit, that
you take the word of God and work on me from the inside. That's why it's so important
to get in the Word, stay in the Word, so the Holy Spirit will
have tools to work on you and to create in you a new you. Any questions? All right, let's look at it.
Who's really in charge? You are the Holy Spirit. Well, whose house is it? What
I'm trying to show you is, that's the point right there, is you
have to allow him, you're not in control, you never can say
to him what to do. You can never say to him what
to do. Even if you're saying, if you're
yielding yourself to him and you're saying you're welcome,
he's already there. Because the moment you got saved,
He indwelt you. So why say to Him, come in, when
He's already in? Or, why say, take control, when
He's just really waiting on you to yield? So what's the correct verbiage
to use? Because we do say that, even
when we're singing and we're praying, Lord, have your way. Holy Spirit, we say, Holy Spirit,
have your way. Holy Spirit, do what you want
to do. So what's the correct verbiage? I think that's what
she's saying. Instead of us saying that, we
have intentions to yield to the Holy Why don't you say, Lord,
I know you're here, but will your spirit manifest yourself? Because I want a theophany. I want a God moment. I don't
want to come to church and risk not seeing you. I know you're
here. Matter of fact, when you wake
up in the morning, you can appreciate him for being present. You can
treat him and talk to the Lord, good morning. See? That means to control me afresh
because the Holy Spirit is never inadequate. So the feeling, the
indwelling, of the spirit, you got all you needed at the initial
indwelling. But what happens in life, we
don't yield control. So to be filled means to be controlled
by. So now it's a moment where you're
saying to him, control me. I'm yielding, I'm giving up my
life to you. Control me. Yeah, control me. You yield. But to invite him in this place,
when you walked in, he came in. Huh? You said what? Y'all stop. Come on, say it again. But your attitude, your attitude
doesn't Extinguish him from your life See you're never kicking
him out because if you are ever without the Holy Spirit you lost You lost See now you can come
in with attitude But that doesn't mean the Holy Spirit is not in
you because he's trying to work on you with that attitude All
the way to church he was working on you But you resisted it. And even in coming to church
with that ill attitude, he came on in with you and he's going
to work on you in the sanctuary as a monk. But you're never without it.
You can never leave him at home. All right. So where does the Shekinah Glory
dwell now? See, you're talking about old, new. Old covenant,
new covenant. Where does the Shekinah Glory
dwell now? See, what we're doing is looking,
and notice when the Shekinah Glory would fall down upon the
temple, they couldn't enter. They couldn't enter. They couldn't
approach that tabernacle or temple now. because the spirit was just
that powerful within that place. And they had to wait until it
lift up. So what are you asking? See, when you studied the word,
you got to look at it because he's giving us patterns of worship,
paradigms of worship. So we say things that sound good,
but there's no biblical basis to it. You couldn't go in there
with that glory, it was too rich and too deep. Pastor, I wanna
ask you, I wanna, like you said, the Holy Spirit is breath and
wind. Mm-hmm. Okay. Symbol, now, symbol. Say that again? Symbols. You
know, we, symbols, so we can understand how he works. We won't say he's breath, wind,
but it gives us an idea of how he operates. So he speak things
into existence. So by the Holy Spirit being breath
and wind, and he speak things into existence, and his presence
is just everywhere. So by his presence being everywhere,
and his wind and breath, and we pray, you know what I'm saying?
we speak to him and then just like the lady was saying, just
back there, like if we work, like we all gonna say it, like
if we pray and if we worship and we invite him in, you know
what I'm saying? And he present already and he's
coming from us, he dwells in us, you know what I'm saying?
So by that being said, why is it not that we invite him in
even though he's within us as well as outside of us? All right,
let me give you, it's like in Ephesians chapter 3 verse 20,
now unto him who's able to do exceeding abundant above all
we could ever ask or think according to the power that works. What that sound? See how we just
skipped it? We ask him to put it in and it's
already in. So you got to know what you're
dealing with. You have to know how to work that word and the
revelation, not assuming the word, guessing at the word, but
what is the word really saying? The reason we're dealing with
this Holy Spirit, the purpose of the Holy Spirit is because
a lot of us don't know how to relate to him. We think we're
in charge of him. That's why we be saying stuff
to him like that. Come on in the house. We're gonna invite him into his
own house. Okay, let me get her. Right. Right. That's it. That's it. Thank you. Deny self.
See, Now that's the catch. It's like you giving him the
steering wheel. You're saying, I trust you. I trust you to guide
me. That's how I live. I live a life
of void of so much undue stress because God is working out. God is working this thing out.
pastor today. He said, man, you don't let much
bother you, do you? I said, man, I'm not gonna let this stuff
kill me and put a young hump in the ground. I'm not doing
it because I understand who's in charge. Even when it comes
to this pastoring business, all God wants is a willing vessel. You don't have to know everything,
but what God can do is take you and he can use you for his glory
if you yield it. See, I'm trying to help us shift
from thinking we in charge. That's why your life is so challenged. That's why your life is so tough
and hard. Even in dealing with sickness,
y'all sometimes hear me say at funerals, see it the way God
sees it. If God says it's precious, Why
are you looking upon it as something else? The Bible says, precious
in his sight is the death of his saints. So why are you looking
at it, oh, that's the worst thing that could ever happen in your
life? Maybe it's the best thing. If you're looking at it right,
because to be absent from the body is to be what? You got to
stop letting your flesh take over and cause you to see things
in a way that's so unbiblical. That's how I live. You know, my dad died. And my
dad made me promise that I would preach his funeral if he would
join church. And I said, yeah, I'll preach
his funeral. And when he died, it was 05. And boy, my family, you know,
all of us, they were struggling with that. And the Lord held
me together. And I'll never forget looking up on my dad when he
first passed away. You know, I said, man, you know,
in my subconscious, well, you do something like this. And he
says, I had nothing to do with it. You know, just kind of question
and response. And he was gone. And the Bible
says the Lord gives and the Lord takes away. What can you do about
it? What can you do about it? All
of that energy that you're burning up and you're exerting, what
is it going to do to change the narrative? Or you can accept
your own mortality. One day, I got a day, I'm fine
with that. That's why I give so much responsibility
over because if something happened to me, nobody knows what's going
to happen. I don't need preachers with me that don't know what
to do. You shouldn't take no just dip
and slump. You ought to be able to keep
course because we have shared so in this ministry where it's
not so much of a bad thing. Because when you're in Christ,
to die is gain. But you've got to mature in your faith now. So you know you're
not in charge. Is there someone else? You spoke about the sensitivity
to the Holy Spirit. How do you increase that sensitivity? Is part, like self-denial part
of that? You're self-denied to obey. The
more you obey, the more you feel you need to, and the more you'll
see why. You know, there are so many stratagems,
and there are so many traps, and so many things ensnared. But the more you obey, the more
you see you need to. And because God's going to help
you and navigate you, through and let you see what you're missing,
what could have been, you know. So, yeah, just obey,
obey. Ask him to speak, pray as you,
you know, Lord, keep me sensitive to the Holy Spirit. Let me hear,
sensitize my ears. So, when he speaks the word,
you can identify as the word and you don't do contrary to
it. but you do in accord, you wanna obey. Okay, all right. All right, y'all ready to go
home? All right. All right, Father,
we thank you, we love you. We worship you, Father. We thank you for this lesson
that has challenged us, convicted us, Father, to yield our lives
to you. Father, we are blessed when we
hear your word and obey your word with the help of the Holy
Spirit. Father, I pray that he be RK in our lives, that the
power line of RK will be experienced in us and through us. Father,
watch over us as we come down from this place, but never your
presence. Bless us individually. and collectively, all who had
prayer requests, Father, you are omniscient God. We pray that
you hear them pray as they pray silently and answer their prayers. Lord, we thank you. We pray for
our sister who lost her father. Lord, I've conversated with coming
in and others, Ms. Wiley, and we pray for Ms. Ida as we have laid to rest Brother
John today. Lord, we are praying for the
sick and shedding in Mr. Taylor. Lord, we pray for our
fellow in the choir that got sick on Sunday, Cedric. Lord, strengthen him. Strengthen
them. Strengthen all. We pray for Myra
Armstead as she has undergone a surgery. Make her better day
by day. Watch over us, regulate our health,
regulate our minds. Father, that we'll serve you
to the best of our ability to bring pleasure to your heart.
In Jesus' name, amen.
