It is vital that Americans understand the importance of this nation to the cause of truth in the world. I don't want you, and I certainly don't want this service ever, to degenerate into empty jingoism. But as a foreigner, I recognize, and have long recognized, the unique and uniquely important position this nation holds. America supplies the world with most of its missionary manpower. America supplies the world with most of its missionary budget. America has more praying people than any place on God's earth. This is a place that must understand its importance to the cause of truth in the world. It is vital therefore that Americans see that their battle is not against some vague force called world terrorism. Oh, it is against that. But America's real battle is not against some vague force of world terrorism, but it is against the forces that set themselves up against God and His Christ, who, as we read this morning, say, let us cast His bands from us and break them asunder. Now don't misunderstand me. America does not have to become, nor should it become, the enemy and especially the enemy in war of every non-Christian country. But it does have to expose and oppose every country that uses its religion as a crusade against this nation and against Christianity. I don't want to get into political matters. This is a spiritual battle fundamentally.
