Hello again, and welcome to the program. We're here, hopefully, with a little strength for today. The Bible says, as it was, so shall it be when Jesus comes back. We're going to look at some interesting information about that today. Stay tuned.
I'm reading in Luke 17, verse 38, where it says, likewise also, as it was in the days of Lot, they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, and they built it. Well, what's wrong with that? Nothing. They're just going through the general life. But it goes on to say, but the same day that Lot went out of Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven. and destroyed them all, even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed."
Now what it's saying here is they're going through the regular routine of life. They're eating, they're drinking, they're buying, they're selling, they're building, they're planting. And at the same time, sodomy was an accepted lifestyle. And so it is today. What God calls sodomy has more than doubled since 2012. As of mid-2024, there are over 1,300 elected officials in the United States that are what God calls sodomites. This lifestyle was accepted in Genesis chapter 19, and it is accepted today.
Jesus said in Luke 21-28, And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, lift up your heads, for your redemption draweth nigh. About 2,500 years ago, Daniel 12.4 was written, and it says, But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end, when many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be on the increase. When Daniel wrote this, they could run to and fro on their feet or on a horse. Things are a little different today.
There are about 1.645 billion vehicles in the world, based on data as of September 2025. There are an estimated 120 million bicycles you can run to and fro on in the United States. Canada's recent sales figure shows that about 2.5 million bicycles were sold in 2023. There are approximately 8.8 million registered motorcycles in the United States and about 830,000 of them in Canada. The total number of airplanes in the world is estimated to be over 450,000, which includes commercial, general and military aircraft. There are approximately 23,000 to 24,000 private jets in the world. As of mid-2025, there's an estimated 35,550 commercial jets. On the average day, there are approximately 12,000 to 14,000 commercial jets flying at the same time, although that number fluctuates to 20,000 during peak hours.
2,500 years ago, Daniel said many shall run to and fro at the end of the age. He also said that knowledge would be increased. Just think of the knowledge necessary to build one of those modern commercial jets. There are hundreds of computers, not just one. There's hundreds of them to manage the complex systems of a commercial jet. For example, the Airbus A300 has about 400 computers. They have flight control computers, they have flight management systems, they have display management computers, they have engine control computers and other systems. There are numerous other microcomputers that manage radar, collision avoidance, fuel systems, flight entertainment, and many other things. It takes quite a bit of knowledge to put all those things together.
The cost of a commercial jet varies from approximately $30 million to over $440 million, depending on the model and the manufacturer. A new Boeing 737 MAX is about $121 million, If you want to buy a Boeing 777-9, it will cost $442 million. We've come a long way from the Wright brothers who made the first aircraft in 1903. Knowledge shall be on the increase.
Down to earth a little bit in the 1830s, Morse code was invented, then the telegraph, then the telephone, radio, television, fax machines, personal computers, internet, smartphones, and now AI. In Daniel chapter 12, verse number 4, God said, But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words and seal the book, even to the time of the end, when many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased. Jesus said in Luke 21-28, when these things begin to come to pass, then look up and lift up your heads, for your redemption draws nigh.
