Hello again and welcome to the program. We're here hopefully with a little strength for today. Hebrews 10 25 says, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together as the manner of some is, but exhorting one another and so much the more as ye see the day approaching.
We're going to start a series as we see the day approaching. It is very important when studying a portion of scripture to always have it in context. This is probably one of the most important rules of Bible study. What is the context? The book of Hebrews, Paul is explaining to mainly Jewish Christians The difference between the Old Testament times and the doctrines of the Old Testament and the present time.
In Hebrews chapter 1 and verse 1, you read the phrase, in time past. Then in verse 2, we read, these last days. He challenges these Christians to remain faithful under persecution because the verse we read says some were not. It says not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together as the manner of some is.
In the world today, the majority of people are not concerned with the Word of God. They are ignorant and they are indifferent concerning Scripture. They are ignorant. That means they don't know. They are indifference. That means they don't care.
The majority, let me say that word again, the majority of people who call themselves Christians in the world today are not concerned about the Word of God either. Oh, they may go to church even three times a week and carry their Bible and take it home and Let it collect dust on the shelf until the next time they go and act like they're spiritual.
The majority of Christians in the world today are not concerned about the word of God. They are ignorant and they are indifferent concerning the scriptures. They say, I don't know, and I don't care. It's obvious. If a Christian, call yourself a fundamentalist or call yourself whatever you want to call yourself, if all you do is go to church three times a week and you don't study to show yourselves approved, you don't wait on God so you can have the power of God every day, then you're indifferent. You don't care, and for sure you are ignorant.
Luke 12, 37 says, blessed are those servants whom the Lord, when he cometh, shall find watching. Now our scripture says that ye see the day approaching. You can't study the Bible for 10 minutes and look in Bible prophecy and not see what is happening in the news today. And what the Bible says what happened in these last days is happening.
In Mark chapter 13, verse 35, Jesus said, watch ye therefore, for you know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning, lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping, and what I say unto you, I say unto all, that would include you and me, What I say unto you, I say unto all, watch.
Matthew 24, 42, watch ye therefore, for ye know not what hour the Lord hath come. Matthew 25, 13, watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour when the Son of Man cometh. Mark 13, 33, take ye heed, watch and pray, for you know not when the time is. 1 Thessalonians 5, 6, let us not sleep as do others, let us watch and be sober. 1 Peter 4, 7, the end of all things is at hand, be therefore sober, watch and pray.
Seven times Paul the Apostle said, I would not have you ignorant, Romans 1, 13. I would not, brethren, that you should be ignorant, Romans 11, 25. 1 Corinthians 10. 1, I would not that you should be ignorant. 1 Corinthians 12.1, I would not have you ignorant. 1 Corinthians 14.38, but if any men be ignorant, let them be ignorant. 2 Corinthians 1.8, we would not, brethren, have you ignorant. 1 Thessalonians 4.13, I would not have you ignorant, brethren.
The word ignorant definition is lacking knowledge, information, or awareness about a particular thing. Once again, Hebrews 10.25 is not a suggestion, it's a command. Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more, as you see the day approaching.
We need to take time to be exhorting one another. In order to do that, we need to assemble together. As we see the day approaching, it looks like there's going to be some troublesome days for those who call themselves Christians. We're going to separate the Christians from the Christianettes.
Isaiah 40, 31 tells us how to stand They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint. Waiting on the Lord is much more than going to church three times a week.
