This is the audio recording for
Liberty Gospel track TRE 188. The title of the track is To
Tell the Truth. On the front, there's a boy looking
kind of guilty and a jar of cookies. And the question is being asked,
son, did you get into the cookies? Inside the track, it reads, you
do not have to teach a child how to lie. It comes natural. Ever since the first married
couple, Adam and Eve, sinned in the Garden of Eden. The Bible
says they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies. Psalm 58, verse three. Adults have a problem with lying
too. So before an adult testifies
in a court of law, he or she will first be asked to raise
their right hand and answer the following question. Do you solemnly
swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but
the truth, so help you God? The Bible says, Lie not one to
another. Colossians 3 verse 9. It is easy to tell a lie because
our sinful hearts justify whatever we want to say or do. The Bible
tells us the heart is deceitful above all things and desperately
wicked. Who can know it? Jeremiah 17
verse 9. We have to be taught to tell
the truth. The Bible says, wherefore, putting
away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbor. Ephesians
4 verse 25. There was a man by the name of
Ananias, and his wife's name was Sapphira. They sold some
land and pretended to give the whole amount of money to the
church. The Bible says, but Peter said, Ananias, why has Satan
filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost and to keep back
part of the price of the land? While it remained, was it not
thine own? And after it was sold, was it
not in thine own power? Why hast thou conceived this
thing in thine heart? Thou hast not lied unto men,
but unto God. An Ananias hearing these words
fell down and gave up the ghost, and great fear came on all them
that heard these things. Acts 5 verses 3 through 5. Sapphira, his wife, did not know
what had happened, and when she came in, Peter then questioned
her. The Bible says, Tell me, whether
you sold the land for so much? And she said, Yea, for so much. Acts 5, verse 8. Like her husband,
Sapphira lied and then she fell down dead. The Bible says, Then
fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the
ghost. And the young man came in and
found her dead, and carrying her forth, buried her by her
husband. Acts 5 verse 10. Do you know
that there is an even worse punishment for lying, worse than being struck
down dead? It is spending eternity with
those liars who have not asked the Lord Jesus Christ to forgive
them and to save them. The Bible says, all liars shall
have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone,
which is the second death. Revelation 21 verse 8. The Bible says, Repent ye therefore,
and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out. Acts 3 verse
19. The Bible says, Sirs, what must
I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the
Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. Acts
16, verses 30 and 31. Who is the Lord Jesus Christ? He is the Son of God, the Creator
of all things, God Almighty in the flesh. The name Lord means
Master. Do you desire to repent of your
sin and obey the Lord? The name Jesus means Savior. Your good deeds cannot pay for
your sins. because the Bible says the wages
of sin is death. Romans 6, 23. Jesus loved you enough to die
on the cross, giving his pure, sinless blood to pay the wages
of your sin. The name Christ means Messiah. He is coming again, and it could
be at any moment. Are you ready? The Bible says,
prepare to meet thy God. Amos 4, verse 12. The proof that Jesus successfully
paid the wages of your sin is the fact that he arose from the
grave. The Bible says he was buried and that he rose again
the third day according to the scriptures. 1 Corinthians 15,
verse 4. To be saved, you must call upon
the Lord Jesus from your heart. The Bible says that if thou shalt
confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine
heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be
saved. For whosoever shall call upon
the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10, verses nine
and 13. Call upon the Lord Jesus Christ
right now. Ask him to forgive you and to
cleanse you and to save you. After we ask the Lord Jesus Christ
to save us, then God instructs us to get baptized under the
water in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Baptism
does not save us. It is the outward testimony that
Jesus has saved us. and that we want to now live
for Him. The Bible says, therefore, we
are buried with Him by baptism into death, that like as Christ
was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even
so we also should walk in newness of life. Romans 6, verse 4. My friend, do you desire to walk
in that newness of life? Do you desire to know that your
sins are forgiven? The Lord Jesus Christ is waiting
for you now to bow your head, to confess your sin to Him, and
to ask Him to save you and cleanse you. Make that decision today,
my friend. You don't know if you have another
