This is the audio version of
Liberty Gospel track TRE 113. It's a true life story track.
The title is Sorrow Turned to Joy. I was the fourth child out
of six in our family. My dad was a farmer, but we moved
to the city where he took a factory job. I was almost five years
old when my dad got pneumonia and died. He was only thirty-three
years old. The Bible says, Go to now, ye
that say, today or tomorrow, we will go into such a city,
and continue there a year, and buy and sell and get gain. Whereas
ye know not what shall be on the morrow, for what is your
life? It is even a vapor that appeareth
for a little time, and then vanisheth away." James 4, verses 13 and
14. My mother moved us back near
the farm, and worked hard to provide us a home. My grandmother
also came to help out, but it was just too much for them. She
ended up moving and taking me with her. All of us children
were eventually placed in separate homes. I ended up in a small
town with a nice family, and their daughter was very kind
to me. We went to church every Sunday, but I never remember
hearing how to go to heaven. Do you attend church? Have you
ever heard how to know for sure that you are going to heaven?
The Bible said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said,
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved. Acts
16 verses 30 and 31. In my teens, I met a nice young
man, and we were eventually married. Later, we were blessed with four
children. One summer at the trailer park
where we lived, a young woman came to the park to hold a Bible
club for children. Our two youngest daughters, ages
9 and 11, went to it. They heard that the Lord Jesus
Christ died on the cross for us, and they repented of their
sins and asked Jesus to save them. Have you repented of your
sins and asked the Lord Jesus Christ to save you? The Bible
says, but God commendeth his love toward us in that while
we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5 and verse 8. The Bible says that if thou shalt
confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine
heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be
saved. Romans 10 verse 9. They came
home and told me that they had gotten saved. In December, the
Baptist church where the girls attended was having a Christmas
program. At the end of it, The pastor
gave an invitation for people to raise their hands to indicate
if they would like to get saved. I wanted to be saved, but I was
afraid to raise my hand. What is hindering you from getting
saved? The Bible says, but the fearful
and unbelieving shall have their part in the lake which burneth
with fire and brimstone, which is the second death. Revelation
21 verse 8. I was cleaning out the car on
a sunny but cold day in January. When I finished and went inside,
I suddenly got very weak and could hardly talk. I told our
oldest daughter to call Dad, and he came right home and took
me to the doctor. The doctor said it was overexertion. He gave me some pills, but the
weakness lasted for weeks. It was during this time that
I wanted to stop the worldly lifestyle that I'd been living
on Saturday nights. What will it take in your life?
The Bible says, before I was afflicted, I went astray, but
now have I kept thy word. Psalm 119, verse 67. In April, an evangelist was preaching
for three nights on TV. On the second night, I got down
on my knees and asked the Lord Jesus Christ to save me. In February,
We met with old friends, and she also had gotten saved. Within
two months, our husbands got saved and, eventually, my mother
and stepfather. God turned my sorrow into joy. Do you desire to repent of your
sin and turn to the Lord Jesus Christ? Your good deeds cannot
pay for your sins, because the Bible says the wages of sin is
death. Jesus, your Creator, is the only
one that can pay that death penalty for you. because he loved you
enough to die on the cross, giving his pure, sinless blood to pay
the wages of your sin. The proof that Jesus successfully
paid that is the fact that he arose from the grave. The Bible
says he was buried and that he rose again the third day, according
to the Scriptures. 1 Corinthians 15, verse 4. To be saved, you must call upon
the Lord Jesus from your heart. The Bible says that if thou shalt
confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine
heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be
saved. For whosoever shall call upon
the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10 verses 9 and
13. Call upon the Lord Jesus Christ
right now. Ask him to forgive you and to
cleanse you and to save you. After we ask the Lord Jesus Christ
to save us, then God instructs us to get baptized under the
water in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Baptism
does not save us. It is the outward testimony that
Jesus has saved us, and that we want to now live for Him.
Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death, that
like as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the
Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life." Romans
6 verse 4. We have some free Bible study
