Good morning, everyone. Today is the 26th of November. Sorry, I'm running a little late because I was having problems with the YouTube channel this morning. My internet's really slow this morning. I guess that's one of the advantages of living on the top of an Ozark mountain.
Anyway, you know, I've entitled this video, The Height of Arrogance. Have you ever met someone that's really cocky, very proudful, haughty, arrogant, egocentric, whatever. You know, the height of arrogance is a person that believes they're in control. That's the height of arrogance. I'm 72 years old and I can tell you that every day I am shown that I'm not in control. I'm not in control of my destiny. I'm not in control of my circumstances. I'm not in control of events.
You can do all the goal setting you want to do. But you know, what does it tell us in scripture? It tells us in scripture, it says that, who has known the mind of the Lord, who has been his counselor? I'm reading from Romans 11. Or who has first given to him and it shall be recompensed unto him. Okay? Hold the depth of the riches, both of the wisdom and knowledge of God, house on searchable are his judgments and his ways past finding out. Who hath known the mind of the Lord, or who hath been his counselor? You know? Who hath known the mind of the Lord? You think you've got it all figured out? And there's people out there that actually believe that they're in control of their own destiny. They actually believe it.
They believe you can set your own goals. You can do your financial goals. You can do your educational goals. You can do your family life goals. You can do your recreational goals. Anyone that believes they're in control of their circumstances, I'm sorry, but I'm going to put it real bluntly, is an idiot. It's total deception. Why do the heathen rage and the people imagine a vain thing? You know, they've set themselves against the Lord and His anointed saying they'll break the bands. You know, it says the Lord should hold them in derision. He will laugh and hold them in derision.
You know, and I could go through all the scriptures that we've gone through before, but the height of arrogance is to believe that you're in control of every situation in your life. In fact, If you believe the Bible, which most people don't, they say they do, but they don't. The Bible says just the opposite. The Bible says that God is in control of all things. He's got the whole world in his hands. How many times have I said that? He's got the whole world in his hands. You know? Colossians 1.16, for by him were all things created that are in heaven, that are in earth, visible and invisible. Whether they be thrones or dominions or principalities or powers, all things were created by him and for him. And he is before all things and by him all things consist. That's pretty conclusive, isn't it?
And people actually think they can control their, you know, I've actually heard motivational speakers say, well, you know, whatever you speak out of your mouth, that's what's gonna happen to you. If you say, I'm a millionaire, that's what's gonna happen to you. You know, wow. You know, put that on your refrigerator, have positive affirmations, blah, blah, blah. height of arrogance. You know, what comes out of some people's mouth is absolutely blasphemy. It's blasphemy. And I could go over all the scriptures this morning, but I'm not going to do it.
I'm just going to conclude this video by saying one thing. God is God and we are not. God bless.
