Good morning, everyone. Today is the 12th of January. It's Monday morning. The Bible has a lot to say about preservation. I like preservation better than even perseverance. God preserves his people. We're told in Psalm 116, 6, the Lord preserveth the simple. I was brought low and he helped me. Well, that's been my testimony. You know, there's many times I've been brought very low. But God has helped me through everything and He will continue to help me through regardless of what I have to go through in life. It's good to know that we can trust in Him. That underneath us are the everlasting arms of God.
Preservation is not just speaking of our physical preservation, our physical lives, but speaking of our spiritual lives. How many times God not only delivered David from his enemies, but he also delivered him from the power of Satan. That's preservation. He preserved his life. Psalm 121.7 The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil. He shall preserve thy soul. What a comfort that gives us. The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil. He shall preserve thy soul.
You know, I'm glad that the life that we've been given by God is an eternal life. It's not temporary. It was from everlasting to everlasting. It was before the foundation of the world that He chose us. He predestinated us into adoption. Psalm 16.1, Preserve me, O God, for in Thee do I put my trust. God is the one who puts in us the faith of Christ to trust in Him. It's not something we drum up of ourselves. Psalm 25, 21, let integrity and uprightness preserve me for I wait on thee. You know, sometimes we try to do things that we think are the right things to do, and it just doesn't seem to work out. We can't cause other people to do what we want them to do. Sometimes they tell us they're going to do something, and they don't do it. Their word means nothing. But when God says that He'll do something, He will do it.
Psalm 61 7 He shall abide before God forever, O prepare mercy and truth which may preserve him. Psalm 64 1 To the chief musician of Psalm of David, hear my voice, O God, in my prayer. Preserve my life from the fear of the enemy. Psalm 40 verse 11, withhold not thou thy tender mercies from me, O Lord. Let thy loving kindness and thy truth continually preserve me. Preservation is a continual thing. You know, when we look at the acronym TULIP, the last letter is P, which means Preservation of the Saints or Perseverance of the Saints, whichever one you prefer. I like Preservation. Joseph told his brothers, God sent me before you to preserve you of posterity in the earth and to save your lives by a great deliverance. God's also faithful to his people, to clothe them, to feed them, to provide for their needs, but the most important thing is he provides for our spiritual needs.
Psalm 140 verse 4, keep me, O Lord, from the hands of the wicked. Preserve me from the violent man, who have purposed to overthrow my goings of error. Had someone who said about purposely to overthrow your goings? I know I have. I've got a person in my life right now that is seeking to try to overthrow my goings. But God knows everything that's going on. 2 Timothy 4.18 And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto His heavenly kingdom. To Him be glory for ever and ever. Amen. Psalm 140 verse 1 To the chief musician of Psalm of David, deliver me, O Lord, from the evil man. Preserve me from the violent man. Psalm 41 too. The Lord will preserve him and keep him alive and he shall be blessed upon the earth and thou will not deliver him unto the will of his enemies.
Well, that's what's kind of on my mind this morning. There's so many scriptures that talk about how God preserves his people. How he will keep them. How he will sustain them. How he will uphold them. Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it, and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it. God is the preserver of our lives. And let us always give him thanks for his provision for us. Not only our physical provisions, but our spiritual provisions. May the good Lord be with you today in a special way is my prayer. God bless.
