And we're gonna be starting in Genesis chapter six tonight. And this is, I actually advertised it as talking about the catastrophic flood. The first several verses of Genesis chapter six actually are highly controversial as we're going to see. How many of you ever heard the term Nephilim? All right, how many of you know exactly what they are? One person, two person, okay. Lot of folks think they know and maybe you do it's it's a highly charged issue and let's see last year at the pre-trib Research Council in Dallas there was a speaker on the Nephilim and I mean it got all folks all excited charged up good debates were taking place so we'll give you a biblical perspective at least we'll show you what the Nephilim are and And depending on what version of the Bible you have, you won't even see the word there, but we'll show you where it is in the text. So what we are going to learn tonight is that God decided to destroy this world based on the massive amount of violence and sexual corruption that was taking place on this earth. Those two issues are the same issues that we've been facing domestically and internationally. It's a huge issue that once again is coming into play. Now, we talked a little bit, those of you that were in my Sunday school class, God is going to cause a massive judgment to come upon the entire world, not just America, after the rapture of the church. America, along with every other of the 200 plus countries will suffer tremendous judgment and a tremendous loss of life. So we'll get into that a little bit. But again, let's go to Genesis chapter six. I'm going to read several verses and then we'll start going through that line by line. Genesis six, verse one. Now it came to pass when men began to multiply on the face of the earth and daughters were born to them, that the sons of God saw the daughters of men, that they were beautiful. And they took wives for themselves of all whom they chose. And the Lord said, now I want you to catch the context here. This is a huge part of when we go through this, we're talking about, okay, sons of God, they see beautiful ladies, they marry them. And now we're gonna talk about it being a major problem. Well, why is this a problem? All right, verse two or three. And the Lord said, my spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he is indeed flesh, yet his days shall be 120 years. There were Nephilim, giants on the earth in those days. And also afterward, when the sons of God, there's that term again, the sons of God came into the daughters of men and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown. Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the Lord was sorry that he had made man on the earth and he was grieved in his heart. So the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them. But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. Father, I pray now that as we go through this very important passage, as we read it on its face, it's like we're talking about something that seems to be wonderful and glorious, and then within seconds, it changes to a disastrous scenario. So Father, I pray as we look at this, you give us understanding, and Father, that we would learn from this passage the issues that not only affected the people in the first part of Genesis, but also what is taking place around the world today. So Father, we pray that you bless this time. We commit it to you. We ask for your blessing, your wisdom, and just help us to properly dissect the word, and we'll give you the praise for it. In Christ's name, amen. So when we look back at Genesis, and again, we've only gone through five chapters now, but we've covered a massive amount of history. We start out with Genesis 1 and 2, and we have the beautiful creation. Adam and Eve are created, the entire everything on earth, all the species have been created at that point. Let me see, what did I say? All the species had been created by the sixth day of the end of creation. There are no new species, none, since that first six days. You say, well, wait a minute. I've seen new animals that are coming on the scene all the time and they're new species. No, they're not new species. They're basically inbreeding or breeding of two different animals that already exist or create something different, but it's not a new species. There are no new species. Uh, that was completed on day six. So everything that, uh, you say, well, we have a new breed of dog. Well, what's what? Okay. So, uh, just to make it clear, I own what's called a teddy bear dog. And you say, well, isn't that cute? It is. But, uh, anyway. It's a teddy bear dog. And you say, well, what is a teddy bear dog? It must be a new species. No, it's not a new species. It's a Bichon and a Shih Tzu dogs that breed it. And it now formed what they call the teddy bear dog. It's made for senior citizens. It's very docile. And I get along great with her. It just works wonders. She's a little lap dog. It's not a new species, though. It's a creation, if you will, of breeding two dogs together. So there is nothing new under the sun, species-wise. But everything was perfect. It was good. We all know that it was very good. We get to Genesis chapter three, and all of a sudden we have, if you will, the fall of Adam and Eve. Horrible fall. Sin enters into the world, death enters in. And God said, all people will die based on the sin of Adam and Eve. Well, then we move on a little bit. We get to Cain and Abel, Genesis chapter four. And here we have the first family, the first family on this earth has the first murder take place. It just seems in, I mean, here's people that know God, they walk with God, they live with God, so to speak. and their kids turn out bad, really bad, to the point where Cain kills his own brother. So hatred comes in, sin is abounding. Well, we keep this in mind because Genesis 5, which we looked at last week, talked about the genealogies and of course documenting how old mankind is. So let me see how I'm gonna, it's not meant to be a trick question, but we might get a couple answers here. Based on the genealogies in Genesis 5, Genesis 11, and so forth, how many years ago, and just give me one big round number, how many years ago from today approximately was the creation of man? 6,000, we'll take it, that's the best number. I didn't know if I'd hear some 4,000s or 2,000s based on B.C. versus A.D., but 4,000 B.C. is the creation of Adam and Eve, plus or minus a few years based on the genealogy. All right, so we get that in Genesis 5, and now we come to Genesis 6, and God says, I want to kill everybody. I mean, wait a minute, we're six chapters into a book with 31,000 verses, 66 books, and we're only six chapters into the first of 66 books, and God looks at humanity and says, I'm had it. I'm killing it, I'm taking them all out. So what happens? Why did God, who just a short time earlier looked at mankind and says everything is perfect, everything is very good, and we go from, if you will, the beautiful scene in the Garden of Eden where Adam and Eve are perfect to then coming up to where sin enters in the world and we have violence taking place. God is not in favor of violence. You say, wait a minute, gotcha pastor, you read the Old Testament and it's death after war, after God's killing people left and right, he's using God's people to kill people left and right. That was not God's perfect design. God never intended for anyone to die. Did you catch that? Genesis 1, Genesis 2, God had set it up so that mankind, humankind, womankind, we'll get everybody in there, God never wanted a single person to die. That was not his perfect plan. But when Satan rebelled against God and he goes after Eve, death enters into the world. All right, let's start taking off then. Again, Genesis 6, We're going to be setting the stage now for the catastrophic universal flood. So now it came to pass when men began to multiply in the face of the earth. All right. Well, that makes sense. You got a course in the age old question is, well, where did these guys get their wives? And you're talking to Adam and Eve were mom and dad. They had sons and daughters and obviously they married each other and had families. Now it's not what we do today in our culture, it's not acceptable, but back in the day that was the only way to get things moving. So men began to multiply and to face the earth and daughters were born to them. Now we get to the big, big debate where we're talking about, and we're going to spend quite a bit of time on this, that the sons of God, okay now let me see, Well, the face of this seems pretty easy. The sons of God gotta be just male people, right? That's all it's gotta be. The sons of God saw the daughters of men. Wait a minute, sons of God, why aren't the daughters of God? So there's an issue here. Their sons of God saw the daughters of men. Two different descriptors of where these individuals came from. Now again, I'm going to throw out a couple of different things regarding the interpretation of this. I'm not, well, yes, I'm going to tell you where I lean on this based on the totality of the verses that we're going to be going through. Let me just set the stage so I'm not talking cryptically. When we're talking about the sons of God, we're going to be going through multiple passages over the next few minutes that are going to point to that the sons of God are angelic beings, demonic. angelic beings, and the daughters of men are physical ladies, I mean literal physical ladies. Now there are those that will say, I'm not gonna buy that. That's okay, I'm gonna go through, we'll show you the biblical arguments and you can make up your own mind. It is controversial and I know there's probably varying opinions in here, but at least listen to the arguments, we'll go through the scriptures and then you can make up your mind. All right, so we've got this issue. The sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were beautiful. All right, well, that certainly makes sense. And they took wives for themselves of all whom they chose. All right, so now we're going to go to the book of Job. We're gonna start going through, we got to figure out if we can from scripture, who are the sons of God? Are they human males? Are they from a particular line? Now there are those that, and I will give you the opinion, I'm not saying I agree with it, but there's many that think that the sons of God were from the line of Seth. There's nothing to document that or to back it up, but it's a theological position. Again, I am going to contend based on what we're gonna be looking at from multiple passages that the sons of God are literal demonic angels. All right, let's go to Job chapter one and let's set the context. Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord and who also was among them? Let's see, Satan was. Now Satan is an angelic being or a human. An angelic, okay, he was created, he was a cherub, Ezekiel chapter 28, Isaiah chapter 14, and it discusses who Satan is, of course called Lucifer before, an angelic being. Well, the sons of God, whoever they are, came to present themselves before the Lord and just happens to be that the chief of the demonic army, Satan himself is there as well. Verse seven, and the Lord said to Satan, from where do you come? Satan answered the Lord and said, from going to and fro on the earth and from walking back and forth on it. Now folks, Job is considered to be the oldest book in the Bible, the oldest book. Now we're setting the tone. We're gonna go to two other passages in Job. Next one, Genesis chapter two is almost a direct repeat. Again, another time there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord. Again, almost a duplicate passage. And Satan came also among them to present himself before the Lord. We get the same exact statement. The Lord said to Satan, from where do you come? Satan answered the Lord and said, from going to and fro on the earth and from walking back and forth on it. All right, now really there's nothing definitive here. But now we go to, and you may wanna turn to this if you got a Bible, Job chapter 38. Now we're going to start making some serious theological statements. So up to this point, it's pretty nebulous. Well, who's these sons of God? Doesn't really tell us. Now we're going to get a very, very strong clue as to who the sons of God are. All right, so here's the context, we're in Job. Job had been, just as you know, if you know the book of Job, he'd been basically destroyed by Satan. His family has been, most of it's been killed. His property's been taken away. His animals are dying. Just a horrible disaster. If you remember, God said to Satan, Satan comes up to women and he says, you know, I'm not sure people really love you just because they love you. And God says, all right, I'll tell you what, Why don't you go mess with my buddy Job? Now, God loved Job. Job knew the Lord. And he's like, listen, why don't you go pick on Job? You can't kill him, but you can do anything else you want. Go after him, see what he does. So of course, we know the story, the account. Satan goes after Job, takes away all his things, and yet Job, stays faithful to God. Now he goes through some tough times and I don't know that I would hold up as good as Job did, but he's staying firm. So now God's going to have a chat with Job and Job's kind of pushing back a little bit on God and God says, all right, I'm going to give you a few questions, Mr. Job, and let's see how you stack up to my questions. Number one, Job 38.1, the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind and said, who is this who darkens counsel by words without knowledge? There's a pretty strong setback. Now prepare yourself like a man, Job. I will question you and you're gonna answer me. Like, okay. Verse four, hey, Job, you wanna question what I'm doing and why I'm doing it? Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell me if you have understanding. Okay, Job. Now, I'm like, poor Job, this poor guy just lost everything and now he's getting beat up by God. He's gonna put him in his place, but with reason. And Job is there, he's like, okay, you think you know what's happening and you think you know why, why don't you tell me about how I put the foundations of the earth together. We're talking Genesis 1 here. He's like, were you there? Did you see it? Do you understand how I did everything? How about a different question, Job? These are all rhetorical questions, by the way. In other words, Job didn't answer. Who determined its measurements? Hey, Job, take a look at the earth. Take a look up in the sky there, see where the stars are, see where all this other stuff is, you can see the moon, you can see the sun, and who determined what those measurements would be? Surely you know, little satirical comeback, or who stretched the line upon it? In other words, when those of you that are in construction know this, or if you put blocks up or brick up, He hanged a plumb line down there so you make sure you get a nice straight thing. He's like, when I created the universe, were you there holding the plumb line for me? Verse seven, or verse six, to what were its foundations fastened? In other words, when we look at the earth, and of course we've seen pictures from NASA and things like that, the earth just out there floating around, just like all the other planets. Who set up gravity? Who made sure that the planets and the stars and everything are in the place that they should be in? So how did I do this, Job? Explain it to me. Or who laid its cornerstone? Now again, if you're in construction, the cornerstone is that stone in the middle off of which everything else stands. So it's called the cornerstone. And we've got one out here. It's got the date of the church extension on it. To what were its foundations fashioned or who laid its cornerstone? All right, you see right on the next verse and it's there for a reason. When God fashioned the earth, when he laid the foundation, what was taking place? When the morning stars sang together and all the, what's the next four words? Sons of God shouted for joy. Wait a second, what day was the foundations of the earth put in place? What day? In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth. And it had no form, it was void. Day one, God started to put together the foundations of the earth. He's fulfilling what Job 38, four through six is talking about. Oh, Job, when the foundations were being put together, the sons of God were there shouting for joy. Well, wait a minute. Day one. Can somebody show me in Genesis one or two when the angels were created? No. The only thing that we know from scripture is Job 38.7 tells us when the morning stars sank together is when the foundation, they watched the foundations being formed. Now are angels created beings? Absolutely. Ezekiel 28 makes that very clear. So they're created beings just like Satan was a created being. When did God create them? Well, if the sons of God, who in the world are the sons of God? The angelic world, the morning stars, the sons of God, man had not been created yet. So this is a very strong text, if you will. It's a very strong support that the angelic world literally had to be the first thing that God created on day one of Genesis. creation so Assuming then I know I keep hearing something popping up here, or I'm moving something. I'm just not on purpose, but I can hear it It's my fault, and I don't know what I'm doing so sorry all right to what words foundations fastened or who laid his cornerstone when When this was laid the court the Morning Star sang together and all the sons of God shouted for joy all right now you can take this and as an argument, or you can reject it, of course, it's a free world, you can choose. But this to me is a very, very, very, and it's convincing to me that the morning stars, the sons of God, all are referring to the angelic world that literally watched the foundations of the earth be put together. Now that's a strong argument because what are we going to? We're going to Genesis chapter six, we're trying to figure out who the sons of God are that had physical relationships with women. That's huge. And because of that relationship between the sons of God and the daughters of men in the same chapter, God says, I'm gonna wipe out the entire race. I want to get rid of everybody because this had taken place. Genesis chapter six, verse three. And the Lord said, my spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he is indeed flesh, yet his days shall be 120 years. And you're like, well boy, I wish I got 120 years. Well, when God was giving this, that was a rotten amount of time to live. Let's take a look. Genesis chapter five, the genealogy we looked at last time we were here last week, all the days that Adam lived were 930 years. Now, how would you like to tell the descendants of Adam, you're only gonna get 120? How come he got 930 years and I'm only gonna get 120? Genesis 5.8, so all the days of Seth were 912 years and he died. Genesis 5.11, Seth's son Enosh, all his days were 905 years and he died. The person that lived the longest, Genesis 5.27, so all the days of Methuselah were 969 years and he died. Wait a minute. All these individuals, first individuals created, were living close to 1,000 years. And now all of a sudden, God says, 120 years, cutting you down. Again, chapter 6, verse 3, which is the chapter we're looking at. Wait a minute, go back to Genesis 1 and 2. Now it came to pass, I'm sorry, 6, 1, and 2. Now it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born to them, that the sons of God saw the daughters of men, that they were beautiful, and they took wives for themselves of all whom they chose." Well, great. And now God says, because of your horrible sin, I'm cutting you down to 120 years. Well, what was the horrible sin? You catching where we're going here? Is it starting to make a little more sense? Again, you can reject the premise, but to me, from a biblical standpoint, it's getting stronger by the minute here. Let's go to another one. Psalm 90, verse 10, which has nothing to do with the sons of God, But God reduced the lifespan of humanity from over 900 years down to 120 in Genesis 6. Then because man continually sinned, God in Psalm chapter 90 verse 10, which is what we're currently living under, the days of our lives are how many years? If you got your old King James, three score and 10, that's 70 years. And that is meant to be the average lifespan for us Today what else does he say and if by reason of strength they are 80 years There you go, and we got some 80 year olds here, and I'm hoping to make it to 80 someday It's getting closer anyway if by reason of strength they are 80 years Yet their boast is only labor and sorrow for it is soon cut off and we fly away Now there are folks that get more than 80 years and God saying listen if by reason of strength they make 80 that's a blessing Because God's saying, listen, the average lifespan is going to be 70 years, plus or minus whatever takes place in someone's life. All right, 900 plus years. Genesis, all the way to Genesis, one up to Genesis chapter six, verse three. Genesis chapter nine, or chapter six, verse three, God says 120 years. I'm taking technically 800 plus years off the average life expectancy of human beings. Genesis chapter six verse four. Now why are we going here? We're talking about sons of God marrying daughters of men. Now God says he's gonna reduce our life by 800 years. And now we're gonna talk about Nephilim or giants. There were giants on the earth in those days. And also afterward, when the sons of God came into the daughters of men, and they bore children to them. They were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown." All right, now that word giants there is indeed the word Nephilim. So those of you that have studied Nephilim and made people rich off of the books they've written on Nephilim, this is where it comes from, right here. Now, here's a couple of different spins on this. And we're not done with this, by the way. We're still gonna build the case. I will give two different major opinions on this. One is that literally these Nephilim, or these giants, were literally angelic beings, period. Secondly, they had an offspring between the sons of God, or between the Nephilim and women. And the first thing you're going to say, and we'll go to the verse in a few minutes, Wait a minute, the angels of God are not able to procreate. Is that what the scriptures say? It says, no, they're not given in marriage when in heaven. Can they procreate? We're gonna see. We're gonna keep playing with this a little bit. So the Nephilim, at a minimum, we can surmise were individuals. Now this is, I'm going outside of the scope now. were human beings that were, if you will, possessed by angelic demonic beings. So that's an interpretation. So you've got that it's human beings that these Nephilim or these angelic beings inhabited or possessed. Now, do we believe in demon possession? Absolutely. I mean, that fits context. We see it all the time in the gospels where individuals were possessed by demonic beings. So at a minimum, we could certainly buy that scenario. Or are the Nephilim truly simply angelic beings that took on human form? We're far from done. All right, let's go to the next one. Numbers chapter 13 is the next passage that talks about the Nephilim or these giants. And they gave the children of Israel a bad report of the land which they had spied out saying, Now again, you had Joshua and Caleb went into the land, and then you had 10 other spies that went into Israel. These 10 spies are going to give a bad report to the Jewish people, the children of Israel, and tell them, we can't go into Israel, it's a horrible place, you're gonna get killed there. Well, what's going to happen? And they gave, the children of Israel, a bad report of the land which they had spied out, saying, the land through which we have gone as spies is a land that devours its inhabitants, and all the people whom we saw in it are men of great stature. These, there we saw the giants, the descendants of Anak come from the giants, and we were like grasshoppers in our sight, and so we were in their sight. based on Genesis, these Nephilim at this point, I would agree, appear to be human beings that were demonically controlled and resulted in this big giant race because the Genesis flood had already come and gone at this point. But let's keep that in mind. Jude chapter one, and only one chapter, talks about another issue with the angels, the demonic world, verse six, and the angels who did not keep their proper domain, but left their abode. All right, so if we're talking about the demonic world right now, which we are, they rebelled against God, they joined up with Satan, and they leave the abode, the heavenly abode, which was what technically the angelic world was assigned. And now here's an interesting statement. How many of you believe that demons exist today? How many of you believe that there are demons that not only exist today, but that they're in our world today? Majority, if not all. Well, wait a minute. There's at least a certain group of angels who did not keep their proper domain but left their own abode. He or God has reserved an everlasting change under darkness for the day, the judgment of the great day. There are a group of demonic angels, going back to Genesis, that were so corrupt, caused so much sin, caused so much debauchery that God said, you're out of here. Do you remember when Jesus cast out the demons, the legion? What did they say? Don't send us to hell. Don't put us in that Hades place. Can we just jump into the pigs? And Jesus said, all right. So he did. Now, wait a minute. They were scared to death of being sent, if you will, to the place that this is talking about where a bunch of other demonic angels had already been put. So he's saying, listen, God has already, if you will, reserved an everlasting change under darkness for the judgment of the great day. And now he's going into the sins that basically resulted in why certain group of demonic individuals are locked up. So he said, listen, they're reserved for judgment of the great day as Sodom and Gomorrah. Wait a minute. What was the sin of Sodom and Gomorrah? Homosexuality. Now let me see, that would be an excuse, again, I'm using these terms from a biblical standpoint, would that be a sexual sin? I mean, absolutely. So as Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over, here's the word from God, to sexual immorality and gone after what? Strange flesh. In other words, men with men working that which is unseemly, just like women with women working that which is unseemly. According to Romans chapter one, God's design was never, never, never for homosexuality and lesbianism. It's a abomination to God. You say, well, you're not very woke. No, I am plenty awake. And the woke culture, which is trying to push this nonsense on your children and your grandchildren, and it's being pushed in our society, I did like some of the ads I saw for the presidential race. And, uh, I was very pleased when one of the ads, uh, which was discussing this particular issue, the president elect was making it clear that this nonsense does not belong in public schools. And I don't know if you saw the ad, but I was like, well, amen. I was almost shocked it was on there because he took a stand and I was like, great. Well, what he says, listen, what was going on? We have Sodom and Gomorrah, homosexuality, lesbianism. They're going after strange flesh. In other words, instead of men working, marrying females, a female, one man, one woman, as Genesis 1 and 2 design, they were going after this strange flesh, corrupt flesh. And they are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of what? Eternal fire. God said, would you get a clue? I set up Sodom and Gomorrah as an example of what not to do. And what does our culture say? Count me in. I want to do that too. And God says, folks, this is harsh. In our peace loving, Jesus is all about love and forgiveness, which he is, but he's also about holding people accountable. And he said, listen, if you're going to do this and you're not going to follow me and you're going to reject Jesus as your savior and you're going to go into a perverted lifestyle, let me tell you what happens. You say, well, man, I can't tell that to my friends that are gay or whatever. Well, you can do it if you speak the truth in love. I'm not saying to walk up to folks, we all know folks that follow this lifestyle. I worked with tons of these individuals that hold to an alternative lifestyle in government work. It's everywhere. And you do too. You know folks like this. I was never, ever unkind to these folks. They knew where I stand. They knew where I stood. It hasn't changed. But I still treated them with respect. I even promoted several Folks that, because who someone decides to, if you will, marry and do whatever with, was not a part of what took place in the organization that I ran. So I didn't appreciate what they did morally, but if they could do the job, they got promoted. So it wasn't about that, but it's wrong. And folks, it is wrong. And you can still take a stand. And they know I wasn't for it. They knew what I preached. They knew what I taught, but I still loved them. But they need to hear the truth. And by the way, where else are they gonna hear the truth but from folks like us? So you speak the truth in love, not mean, not vengeful, but he makes it very clear. Well, what about 2 Peter 2, God gives us another verse. For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness to be reserved for judgment. Wait a minute, you all just testified by raising your hands that there are demons in the world today. And I agree with you. Which means, wait a minute, if all the demonic world According to this, was already in hell, there wouldn't be any demons on earth, but we all just agreed that they are on earth, which means that there is a certain group of demonic angels, those that had rebelled against God, that are reserved in hell right now. Basically the word is Hades, by the way, properly interpreted, but that's where they're going to spend eternity is in judgment. All right, so we have a dichotomy. What are we talking about here? Now, folks, you want to know exactly why many of you right now, which was the same position that I have to jockey back and forth on, it's like, well, wait a minute. Angels can't procreate with human beings. Can't happen. 2 Peter. and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them an example," here we are, an example again, to those who afterwards would live ungodly, and delivered righteous lot. By the way, lot, God calls lot righteous here, but he was a bad little boy. If you recall, his two daughters, he had an incestual relationship with them, even though he was drunken out of his mind when they came in and he was the father, of two, if you will, children through incest, Ammon and Moab, which by the way are two areas in Jordan. He delivered, but at this time God said, well, it's righteous lot who was oppressed by the, and here's a nasty word, by the filthy conduct of the wicked. For that righteous man dwelling among them tormented his righteous soul from day to day by seeing and hearing their lawless deeds. Well, let's keep seeing what God's saying. Now we're into Matthew. The Sadducees. The same day the Sadducees who say there is no resurrection. And of course we give our little joke, that's why they are sad, you see, because they don't believe in a resurrection. So Jesus is talking to this group of individuals. They came to him and asked him, saying, Teacher, Moses said that if a man dies having no children, his brother shall marry his wife and raise up offspring for her brother. Now there were with us seven brothers. The first died after he had married, and having no offspring, left his wife to his brother. Likewise, the second also, and the third even to the seventh. Last of all, the woman died. So she had seven husbands, And they're like, well, whose wife is she gonna be in heaven? Therefore in the resurrection, which they didn't believe in, so they're trying to prove a point to the Lord, which they're gonna lose on, whose wife of the seven will she be? So who does she really belong to? Which one of the seven? For they all had her. Now here's what Jesus answered. And here's what throws us off when we're looking at the sons of God is the next verse. Jesus answered and said to them, you are mistaken not knowing the scriptures nor the power of God. Now here we go. For in the resurrection, they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels of God in heaven. So this verse has been used as a proof text to say that there's no way possible on earth that an angel could have a relationship with a human being. Well, that's what we call eisegesis or reading into this. In other words, it doesn't say anything about a relationship or the ability to, if you will, have an intimate relationship. It basically says they don't marry, they're not given in marriage. So we make the assumption that based on that, when there is no, if you will, intimacy in heaven, well, therefore the demonic world shouldn't be able to do that. All right, that's a premise. Let's see where it goes. Genesis 19, now we're moving ahead a few chapters in Genesis. And let's see, now the two angels came to Sodom in the evening and Lot was sitting in the gate of Sodom. When Lot saw them, he rose to meet them and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground. Now folks, these two individuals are what? We agree on that, right? These are angels. And they walk into the city and Lot says, hey guys, come on over. And he said, here now, my lords, please turn into your servant's house and spend the night and wash your feet. Okay, so they had physical feet. Then you may rise early and go on your way. And they said, no, but we'll spend the night in the open square. But Lot insisted strongly, so they turned into him and entered his house. Then he made them a feast. Okay, let's see, they got feet. They gotta have some way to eat because he's going to feed them a feast and baked unleavened bread and they ate. So I'm assuming, seeing we have no other description, that it sounds like something that looks like a human being that can eat, has feet that need to be washed. Kind of like me, right? Kind of like you. Verse four, now before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sodom, both young and old, all the people from every quarter surrounded the house. And they called to Lot and said to him, where are the, what? Wait a minute, didn't we all agree that these weren't men? How come the Sodomites said, bring the men out? And now it gets worse. So he said, where are the men? Basically in parentheses, not part of the text, angels who look like human men, who came to you tonight. Where are they? Bring them out to us that we may know them. What? Carnally. Now we got some young folks in the audience tonight, so that's where we're gonna leave it at. But you know exactly what it means. They're talking about, they want to have a intimate relationship with these men who they had no clue were actually angelic beings. Verse six, Lot went out to them through the doorway, shut the door behind him, and said, please, my brethren, do not do so wickedly. I'm gonna skip over the next part of that because Lot then offers his daughters up as substitutes. I mean, talk about a degenerate guy. Anyway, but we're not gonna go there because it's not what we're trying to prove tonight. All right, so now we have angelic beings that look like men that other men say, We want to know them carnally. What's the punchline? Sexual perversion and violence filled the earth. Can we agree on that? I think we can. God could not tolerate the rampant out-of-control sin and determined he would execute severe judgment against the perverted angels and perverted people. We've read multiple passages that said God took a particular group of demonic beings based on their horrible reprobate behavior and he chained them up and threw them in a place called Hades or Hell. We also agree that there are demons that are still alive and well on planet Earth. All right, so what did these demons do that was so deplorable that God had to lock them up? Genesis 6, 5, Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. Genesis 6, one and two. Sons of God see the daughters of men. Yahoo, let's get married, they're beautiful. And all God's people said, sounds good to me. Very next verse, I'm cutting your life 800 plus years. Very next verse, I'm gonna kill y'all. That doesn't sound like a good scenario. All right, let's move on. Chapter six, verse six. And the Lord was sorry that he had made man on the earth and he was grieved in his heart. Now folks, we're only six chapters in the Genesis and God looks down and says, my heart's broke. I can't believe what you've done. It's just deplorable. You've gone away from me. You've broken every single thing I've asked you to do. You don't follow me. You don't love me. And I'm going to destroy you. Do you know that that's gonna happen again? After the rapture of the church takes place, we start going through, and those of you that were in the Sunday school class, a little repeat, the Olivet Discourse and Revelation. Olivet Discourse, Matthew 24, Luke 21, Mark 13, and then we go, companion passages in Revelation, starting in chapter 6 through 16. We know beyond a shadow of a doubt What percentage of the current population, should the rapture happen today, what percentage of the population will be destroyed by God before the end of the tribulation? What's the percentage? Say what? What we can prove. What can we prove beyond a shadow of a doubt? Okay, I see 50, 50 is correct. We know based on The first seal, or within the seal judgments that, and again, excuse this illustration again, Sunday school folks, says one fourth of the earth's population will be taken away, Genesis 6 verse 9. We go to Genesis chapter 9, or I'm sorry, Revelation chapter 9 verses 6 and 18 tells us that one third of the earth's population will be taken away. That means 50% of the earth's population we can prove will be taken away. Now here's, for those that weren't here this morning in the class, we're talking about going with the current numbers that we have. There's 8 billion people, right? Now, one person said, listen, we don't know how many Christians that's going to be. And that's a good point. We don't know how many Christians exist today. So out of that current 8 billion people, when the rapture happens, whatever percentage of God's, are literally God's people, they're up in heaven. But for round numbers, I'm gonna stick with the 8 billion today. We know a minimum on those numbers is approximately 4 billion people are going to die. Then what was also being said, well, We could be into upwards of 90% of the earth's population being destroyed. Where do we get that from? Well, Matthew chapter 24 talks about as it was in the days of Noah, the days of Lot. Eight people were saved. We go to Matthew chapter 24 and verse 22 that says, unless those days had been shortened, how much flesh would be saved? None. All right, so we don't know the numbers, but we can speculate a little bit. So we know for sure 50% of the earth's population goes away. The only thing we know from scripture is we know what percentage of the Jewish people will survive the tribulation people. We do know that number. It's what percentage of the Jewish people. One third, where do we get that from? Zechariah 13, eight and nine. Two thirds will be destroyed One third will be brought through the fire and be able to enter into the kingdom. Based on the current numbers, 15 million Jewish people, if the rapture happens today, that means 5 million of the 15 million Jewish people would be preserved. The greatest holocaust would then take place in the tribulation. Over 6 million Jews were killed in the holocaust. We're talking, if the numbers hold, over 10 million Jews die in the tribulation. based on Zechariah 13, eight and nine. So again, we know 50% of the world's population is gone, could be much, much, much, much bigger than that. That's only two judgments that God documents 50% of the world's population goes away, which means a whole lot more than 50% is going to perish. So what do we have here? God made it very clear two times that we read in the passages that he wiped out, if you will, the detractors from God to be a blank to us. Starts with an E, an example. And God said, listen folks, and the world is rejecting the example. And we get it, we're Christians, we read the Bible, we understand it and we get it. And it's like, yeah, we shouldn't do that. There was an example set, we shouldn't do this. And yet the world embraces it. And God said, I'm sorry that it may God, therefore, or so in your New King James Version, therefore, the Lord said, here's the remedy, I'm going to destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and birds of the air, for I'm sorry that I have made them. Now here's the contention. When God started everything off, Adam and Eve, one man, one woman, perfect unity, perfect marriage, create children. And all of a sudden, now we get to Genesis chapter six, and somehow, whether they're demonically possessed individuals, that demonic angels possessed, whether they are the actual angels themselves, you can debate that till the cows come home. When you figure out a conclusion, you come tell me. The bottom line, we know the demonic world's involved. The bottom line, we know that the demonic world that was involved in this whatever type of relationship it was with the daughters of men that God thought it was so deplorable and horrible that he sent those demonic angels to hell to be reserved for judgment. And God says this is so horrible because offspring have come out of this. And God says I will not have this in my world and he destroyed all but eight people to get rid of this problem. Now, I'm going to go a little bit sci-fi for a moment. So I wrote a book called Artificial Intelligence, Transhumanism, and the De-Evolution of Democracy. It came out about a year ago. Many folks have contacted me and said, you know, what we see taking place now when we're talking about artificial intelligence, when we look at, and I'm not, I'm all for Elon Musk as long as he keeps in his lane. Elon Musk now has neural implants into human beings. Others are developing the same type of technology whereby people that before couldn't even move are able to do things through the thought process. It's real. I mean, it's working. Not well, but it's working. Prosthetic devices that have literal feeling now Some of this is great technology. But folks, what are we seeing? Some people are saying, you know, we're seeing a pattern starting to develop exactly the way it was back in Genesis, where instead of it being demonic beings, now we're using transhumanism, artificial intelligence, to create a different, what they will call, species of human being. Half demonic, half human. Now I'm not saying I'm buying that. So I'm just throwing it out there because multiple people have put that out as a premise as to why God will have to destroy the massive amount of people that he's talking about destroying in Revelation. So again, I'm not buying the ticket yet to jump on board with this, but isn't it interesting that these things are happening? So I'll just leave it at that. So what happens? God creates everything perfect. The demonic world rejects God's way, we have the first murder taking place with the first family and things begin to go bad to worse. Romans chapter 3 is a strong reminder Quoting from multiple passages in the Old Testament, God said, listen, as it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one. There is none who understands. There is none who seeks after God. They have all turned aside. They have turned together. They have together become unprofitable. There is none who does good, no, not one. When we look at man and woman in their original sinful state, God classifies us that there's nothing whatsoever good about us. Nothing. We're all unrighteous. None of us understand. We've all turned aside. By the way, how do you change that? Can you change it? Absolutely you can when you come to Christ. But he's putting down the moral dilemma. Romans chapter three, verse 13, their throat, the unsaved is an open tomb with their tongues. They have practiced deceit. The poison of ass is under their lips, whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness. Does that sound like our society today? Of course it does. Their feet are swift to shed blood, just like Cain did. First family killed his own brother. Every single year, there's over a hundred homicides in Milwaukee County alone. Thousands of people are murdered every single year just in our country not talking about even the the international scale which is off the charts Destruction and misery are in their ways in the way of peace. They have not known there is no fear of God before their eyes All right, so let's pull all this together We have in Genesis 6 And again, I'm saying you make up your minds how you want to deal with this passage. At a minimum, we know the demonic world somehow caused a major disruption on this earth to the point where God said, I am through with the sons of God marrying the daughters of men. I am going to destroy it. I've given you multiple different passages showing multiple different Condemnations that God had against a certain group of demonic beings that were I believe tied directly to Genesis chapter 6 And God looks out at the entire world And he says wait a minute I got one guy but Noah Found grace in the eyes of the Lord Noah one guy We have no idea how many people existed. Bible doesn't tell us. It's all speculative. I've seen people say, well, there may be a couple hundred thousand. Some have said, well, maybe there were a billion people. We don't know. We have no clue how many people were on earth. There's no set number. But the only thing we do know is God looks down. Now, were there 100,000 or 100 million, it doesn't matter. God looked down and he says, I got one guy. Folks, there's eight billion people in the world. And I'm looking out right now. I don't see anywhere near eight billion people in this auditorium tonight. It's a handful of folks, just like always, it's a remnant. It's a remnant that turns the Lord, puts their faith in him and decides to serve him. And back in Genesis, God found one guy, Noah and his three sons, and their wives for people that he decided to save out of the massive amount of folks that existed at that time. This is the genealogy of Noah. Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations. And I love this last four words. Noah walked with God. All right. A lot of doctrine tonight. A lot of things to think about. So what I want you to do is you all come back next week, I want you to write a book on this and you tell me what the answer is, okay? And we'll put it on Amazon and see what happens. But I'm very convinced the demonic world was definitely involved in this, exactly how it happened, open to some interpretation, but God said this is horrible to the point where I gotta wipe it out. All right, so here's the challenge for us tonight. What did Noah do? He was a just man, perfect or mature in his generations, and he walked with God. Who do you walk with? Who do you walk with? You say, well, my wife is here. I like to walk with her. Well, that's a good thing. My kids are here. I like to walk with them. Well, that's a good thing. My friends are here. I like to walk with them. Well, that's a good thing. But how about if I gave you a survey right now, who's the most important, or what is the most important thing in your life, what would you put at the top of the sheet? Pretty much everyone, probably two at the T would say, well, God's number one in my life. All right, you gonna walk with him this week? Are you, are you gonna be that person that says, Remember this guy Micah McCrory is coming that pastor keeps talking about And I've been wanting to talk to my friend, but boy, I've just been so scared I'm afraid they're gonna have a bad reaction to me, but I know they need to be there, but I'm just so scared Would you walk with me this week, please Would you take my hand would you walk me through this and would you would you just be with me while I? Ask somebody to come to church. Or maybe I share the gospel with them. Or try and share something good with them that's good and godly and helpful as I speak the truth in love. Just let them walk with you. Do you know when you walk with God, you always got your back up there. It's always there. And there's nothing to be afraid of. So I'm going to ask you all, let's walk with God this week just like Noah did. Let's look at our friends and our neighbors. Last thing, and it's, I'm done. It's a young lady. I know her parents. I didn't know the young lady. She was at Maranatha Baptist Bible College. I believe it was last week, correct, that this happened? Yep, yep. Young, godly lady. I keep hearing more and more about her. She does something as simple as pick up a brownie. Now this is a young lady, she's in college. She's been living this lifestyle for years. She picks up a brownie and takes a bite and finds out it had peanut oil or some type of peanut extract in it and it caused a horrible anaphylactic reaction. They harvested her organs today. Only one life will soon be passed. Only what's done for Christ will last. See, that dear young lady had her whole life ahead of her. At least she thought so. She loved God and was going to serve Him full time doing whatever. And one second later, tragedy strikes, and now she's absent from the body and present with the Lord, which is the great thing, but her parents are without her, her grandparents are without her, her friends are without her. She's gone. You see, every single one of us know people that are going to die, that are going to pass. This young lady, praise the Lord, went home to be with the Lord. How many people do we know that if they pass right now, you know that they aren't on their way to heaven? Do we understand what hell is? See, I don't want to understand because it's scary. It's horrible. You're right. It is scary. It is horrible. And if we honestly got a vision of where our friends and our loved ones are going to spend eternity if they refuse to come to Christ, it would put us into a horrible depression. And I mean that. So we have to fight that. But what it should do is the love of Christ should constrain us. It should compel us to tell folks the greatest news ever given to mankind. You see, the worst thing that's gonna happen to you is you ask them to come to church and they say, not on your life, get out of my life, not interested. That could happen. That's the worst thing that'll happen to you. Do you know what the worst thing that'll happen to them is? An eternity in a place called the Lake of Fire where they will burn forever and ever, where the fire is not quenched, that's torture will not stop because they rejected the Savior. Not a very pleasant thought, but it's motivating. I'm not trying to lay a guilt trip on anyone. The Bible says the love of Christ should compel us. And we're a small little number tonight. But this little army, if just the people in this room tonight, if just everybody in this room brought one person, we'd have a problem making sure we have enough seats on Sunday morning. I want to have that problem. How about you? So let's get busy. I know you're going to try hard. I believe that. And some of you are going to be disappointed. You're going to ask folks and they're going to turn you down. That's OK. You try. Don't be discouraged. There's tons of fish in the sea. Go find another hook and throw it out there. Can we do that, folks? I know it's hard, but let's do it. Father, thank you for your love for us. We've looked at some heavy duty doctrine tonight. We've looked at things that resulted in an entire, if you will, human beings, all human beings except for eight people being destroyed on this earth because of the horrible sin and violence and sexual immorality that was taking place. We've seen the demonic world as it seeks to corrupt every single thing that we try to do for you on this earth. So Father, I pray that as we're reminded of these things, as you've made it clear, this was an example. Father, help us to take these examples, help us to use them, to further the gospel of Jesus. Now, lastly, if you're sitting here tonight or if you're watching on the Internet, if you were to die right now, where would you go? If you ate the brownie like this dear young college student did and the next thing you know, you're gone, where would you go? Maybe you walked outside and you slip on the ice and you crack your head open and you die or you get hit by a car or something happens. And the next thing you know, you're gone. Where are you going? Are you truly going to a better place or a much, much worse place? The Bible makes it clear. Listen and we're done. Four quick little things. It's so simple. You say, how can it be that simple? Well, it's this simple. God said, number one, we've all sinned and come short of the glory of God. We're all sinners, Romans 3.23. And God says, because I've sinned, because you've sinned, if we got what we deserved, we'd spend eternity in an awful place called the Lake of Fire, Revelation 21.8. That's what I deserve. It's what you deserve. But Jesus said, I love you so much that I'm gonna come down from heaven, which he did. I'm gonna go to an old rugged cross. I'm going to die. I'm going to be buried. In three days, I'm going to rise from the dead. And Jesus said, did that to come down to pay 100% for your sins. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever, anyone that will believe in him and his, what? In his death, burial, and resurrection should not perish, but have everlasting life. Would you take the free gift of eternal life tonight? Would you stop trying to get to heaven on your own and do it God's way and receive that free gift? Right there where you are, say, I believe. I understand I'm a sinner. I understand I don't deserve heaven, But this very moment, I finally get it. Jesus paid it all. He paid my debt. And by putting your faith in Him, heaven will be your home. Father, I pray that you take this simple thought and take the heavy things that we looked at tonight, help us to do what you've asked us to do, 2 Timothy, to study, to show ourselves approved unto God, workmen, workwomen that need not be ashamed, Rightly dividing the word of truth. Help us to be active this week and we'll give you the glory in Christ's name.
