and I repented of my sins already.
So Mark 4, if you're there, please stand for the reading of God's
Word. Mark 4, verse 35. Mark 4, verse 35, and it says,
And the same day, when the evening was come, he saith unto them,
Let us pass over unto the other side. And when they had sent
away the multitude, they took him, even as he was in the ship.
And there were also with him other little ships. And there
arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship,
and that it was now full. And he was in the hinder part
of the ship, asleep on a pillow. And they wake him, and they say
unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? I don't think
they said it in that attitude at all. Master, carest thou not that
we perish? I imagine him kind of screaming,
maybe crying. I don't know, these are grown
men going through perilous times right now. So just think of maybe
your dad growing up. Imagine him crying right now.
Or imagine me crying right now. I'm just crying. I'm weeping
because I have no idea the situation. So these are where the men are
at. They're crying. They're asking the Lord, do you not carest thou
not that we perish? And he arose and rebuked the
wind and set into the sea. peace be still. And the wind
ceased, and there was a great calm. And he said to them, Why
are ye so fearful? How is it that ye have no faith?
And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What
manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?"
Tonight's message is entitled, Peace Through the Storm. Peace
Through the Storm. Let's open a word of prayer.
Lord, thank you for this wonderful time that you give us. Lord,
thank you for allowing us to come here to church tonight,
at a place where we can freely worship you, where we can freely
speak of your name, where we can freely give the gospel out
to our friends, co-workers, strangers, Lord. Thank you so much for what
you have done for this church. Thank you for our pastor. Thank
you for the previous pastors, Lord. And just help us to go
on with the rest of our day and to please you. In Jesus' name,
Amen. Amen. You may be seated. So in
the middle of July, I experienced my first hurricane here. And
I know it's like, oh, it's like a tropical storm, class one.
It wasn't that bad. Let me tell you. I was scared
of it. I'll be honest. I didn't know
what to expect. I mean, the wind's beating all
the time. The rain constantly coming. I
can't imagine a class two or class three. If it's over a class
two, I'm out of here. I'll see you guys later. I want
to move up to Alaska where they have no hurricanes. They don't,
right? OK. Hey, I'd rather do it with a
grizzly bear than a hurricane. Like, I was scared of that hurricane. I mean, Hurricane Barry will
forever be memorized in my heart that I was scared of a Class
1 hurricane. So, if you're going to see a
grown man cry, see me in a Class 3 hurricane, right? So, I was
really scared. I mean, there's other times that,
I mean, growing up, I'm sure a lot of us have been scared
of certain storms. In Indiana, we have a lot of
tornadoes. And the thing about tornadoes is that they come just
like that. They just, like, appear out of
nowhere. I mean, they got a couple hours. when they hit you they
hit hard like a hurricane does but tornado is done with but
hurricane is there and it's far worth it far worse and I'll admit
that. But I mean other storms like thunder and lightning and
that's one thing that I was definitely scared of as a kid. I mean when
you hear that thunder banging and like and lightning striking
you see the flashes and you get really scared. I mean is any
kids in here scared of thunder and lightning? Thank you, Danny.
Thank you, Reagan. You guys really helped me out.
I was crying last night when the rain was coming down. I'm totally
joking, OK? But the thing is, when I was
a young kid, if I ever heard a storm, more like when I was
13 years old. No, I'm trying to make jokes
for you guys because you're outside. I love pies. Anybody else love
pie tonight? Does anybody else love pie? Amen. Does anybody
else know that they're saved here tonight? Amen. OK, now we're
all awake. So when I was scared as a kid,
I would go to my dad and to my mom, and they'd comfort me. They
would comfort me with safety, with security. And they'd have
a comforting piece that they would bring along saying, hey,
everything's all right. And my dad and my mom would say,
because if you believe in Jesus Christ, he is with you. And it
kind of comforted me with that saying. offered a protection,
a security, a safety, a place where I can find the word peace. And so here we have it in our
text is that Jesus and disciples have been on the left side of
the Sea of Galilee and Jesus wanted to go into the other side
of the sea to get this man at the beginning of chapter 5, the
maniac of Gadara, who himself is another type of storm right
there. And so Jesus had specifically
wanted to go to reach that one man right there. And so they
had to cross this sea, the Sea of Galilee. You could say it's
a lake or a pond, but I mean, the Sea of Galilee at times can
brew storms just out of nowhere. And it's well below the sea level
and the hills and mountains surrounding it. A beautiful day outside,
75 degrees, a slight breeze, and then the next 15 minutes,
there'll be a storm on the Sea of Galilee. It just appears like
that all the time. And so, the thing is that these
men, like Peter, James, and John, and some of the other men, were
born on the sea, basically. They knew the sea. They were
experts at the sea. And so, they began their journey
from one side to the other side, and then, as it says, Jesus went
to the hinder parts to go take a nap. And the storm was not
just like any storm, though. The storm was and means no small
storm. In each passage, it describes
it differently. Here in our passage, it shows
it as a great storm. And in Matthew 8, verse 24, it's
known as a great tempest. And Luke 8, verse 23, it's known
as there came down a storm of wind. And the storm would have
scared them out of their sandals. And think about, like I said,
these men wore like Most of these men were tough. They knew what
they're doing. They had calluses on their hands.
They were experts on the sea. And I mean, there's a couple
of tax collectors and some other guys, but most of the guys were
tough men, men of Galilee. And so they knew what they were
doing on the sea. But the thing is that it says
a great storm. And so this storm was something
that I have never seen before. A storm that had hit them so
hard that they had no idea what has just happened. Now the thing
is, they handled storms in the past very well, because they're
still alive. They had not died yet. Maybe they lost a couple
of ships, but they still knew how to handle storms. They knew
how to do it on their own. Maybe they had different methods
of how to prepare the ship for a storm, or had different equipment
for a storm, and they were in the middle of it. But this storm
had a rage about it that they had never seen before. The storm
had been placed so that the disciples could learn from it, but how
the disciples responded was up to them. The disciples' reaction
to the storm, and here the disciples responded based upon their past.
I mean, they have been, let's say these men were in their late
20s and their early 30s. These men have been, I'm trying
to get the point across that they have been experts, they
have been very knowledgeable on the sea, they knew what they
were doing. They knew because of their past. They were raised,
their fathers had taught them from a young age, from the age
of three all the way to the age of 27. They knew what they were
doing on the sea. They knew how to handle storms. But the thing
is, this storm was different. They had an attitude that was
like, we got it. We know how to handle this storm.
We are professionals at this stuff. I'm sure they tried different
methods. I mean, they tried the old bucket
trick where they decide, hey, Peter, get a bucket. And John
throws in a bucket and starts dumping out water. And he's going.
And he's like, hey. John, this isn't working and
it keeps on going, keeps on going, he's digging deeper. He's 25
buckets deep of water and nothing is happening. The ship is starting
to sink even more or the siding is breaking down and then James
yells at another disciple and says, hey, go get some wooden
nails and put this repair this side or maybe another side they
say hey go get the squeegee I don't know if they had squeegee back
in the day but like hey get the squeegee squeegee off the water
as fast as possible and everything they tried everything they had
done in the past works successfully but here everything they did
failed on it all throughout the night all failed They think that
they knew what they were doing because of their past. They thought
they knew what they were doing because of the time they have
been on the scene. But the thing is, panic would
have set in their hearts, and grown men have found no way to
fix their problem in the storm. And the disciples had finally
realized that we can't do anything based upon our past. We can't,
I mean, we can't do the bucket trick anymore. We can't hammer
some boards up to stop the water from coming in. We can't use
the squeegee method if they have that method. We can't do anything
like this. And these men are starting to panic. They're starting
to get stressed out. I mean, if anybody has ever experienced
like drowning sensation before, the panic starts filling in and
you start you're doing everything as possible to stay alive you'll
do anything. Peter tried to push John off the boat maybe to survive
like we need to lose some weight and push John off or push Bartholomew
off and and they were trying they're panicking at this point
I would imagine I mean that's what I would do but these men
had no idea how to handle their problems. I mean their past showed
them that they knew how to handle problems And maybe they were
successful, maybe they were unsuccessful. I don't know if they lost many
boats. But the thing is that nothing worked. Nothing at all
worked during the storm. Rather, the boat was receiving
more damage and water than they anticipated. The disciples gave
up, leaning on their own arms, and went to Jesus. It was actually harder to take
off. The thing is that Jesus, as I mentioned earlier in verse
37, He is, verse 38 actually, and He was in the hinder part
of the ship, asleep on a pillow. It shows that He was a 100% man
right there too, because He needed rest. And the thing is that,
I don't know how Jesus was asleep the whole entire time, but He
was asleep. sleep on a pillow. And I don't know if he woke up
like, all right, when are they going to come to me? Because
he, I mean, he knew that the storm was more than they can
handle. And he was just waiting. I don't know if he was doing
this or not. I don't want to go too much into the scripture
or not. But all I know is that they came to the hinder part
of the ship and maybe Peter, John, James, or some of the other
guys came up to Jesus like, Do you not care for us? Like, what's
going on? Jesus, come on, wake up. We know you can help us. Like, I don't know if they're
like screaming, if they're shouting, if they're crying, if they're getting
angry at Jesus for not helping them. I mean, there's a lot of
emotions right there that people can face when they're drowning,
essentially. I mean, these men have been going
bonkers at this point. And so they finally come to Jesus
and they ask, Master, cares thou not that we perish? And then
we get to the point where Jesus rises up from his sleep and he
comes and he goes to the storm and he says, peace be still. Just three words and after that,
immediately the winds ceased. Immediately, the waves went down. Immediately, I don't know, all
the water just kind of fell off the boat and everything was back
to normal. Immediately, the sun came out. Immediately, the clouds
went away. Immediately, the birds started singing again. But immediately,
the storm ceased. Just with three words, peace,
be still. Now, the disciples knew that
Jesus could perform miracles. I mean, they had been with Him
just for a while, but they knew, just to name a few, Jesus turned
the water into wine in John 2, verses 1-11. He heals Peter's
muggling wall in Matthew 8, verses 14-15. He cleanses the leopard's hand
in Luke 5, 12-14. He raises the widow's son from
the dead, Luke 7, 11-17. And the thing is that they saw
Jesus perform these miracles. I mean, raising somebody from
the dead will take more power than calming the sea. And they saw Jesus perform so
many miracles. But the thing is, they relied
upon their past. Instead of going to the One who
could help them, the One who provided, who had already done
so many miracles, the One who is the Son of God. In these words,
peace be still, He ceased the storm to stop. He caused the
storm to stop. And only three words, and Jesus
was able to handle a situation that the disciples spent so much
time and effort to fix. Now I'm reminded a couple months
ago when I went through the life of King Asa, he had a problem
with the Ethiopians who came up from the south to Judah, and
it was a million and so many soldiers. the largest ever quartered
army in the Bible by numbers, and over a million soldiers had
come up just to defeat Asa and to defeat Judah. And that situation
that Asa had, and may I remind you of this, that Asa didn't
go to his... elders that he took counsel from.
He didn't go to his generals. He didn't go to anybody. He went
to God directly. And he went to God to say, Lord,
I need your help in this hour of desperation. I need your help
with this problem that I have. And we know later that God was
able to deliver Judah from the Ethiopians. And then later in
his life, we know that there was another army from Israel
and from the Assyrians who came down. And at this time, Judah
didn't... Sorry, it was Israel that came
down against Judah. And the thing is, he didn't go
to God. He said, Lord, I need your help again in this time.
But instead, he relied upon himself. He relied upon his money that
he had. He relied upon his friends, quote-unquote,
to help him in this time of need. And yes, they were able to help
him. But instead of going to God, he went to the things of
possibly his past that helped him, but the things of his past
that was that God had helped King Asa. But here the disciples
saw that nothing in their past would be able to handle this
storm. Nothing was able to do this. And Jesus asked them a
question. Why are ye so fearful? How is it that ye have no faith?
The disciples believed more in themselves than in Jesus at the
beginning. So why did the disciples not
find peace through the storm? Well, the disciples did not find
peace through the storm because they did not have the faith in
God of the storm. Jesus has shown them so much
this far, and they still did not understand who He truly was
at this point. But the thing is, the response
of the disciples here in verse 41, and they feared exceedingly
and said once another, What manner of man is this, that even the
wind and the sea obey Him? And I've already mentioned, like,
we know, like, this is the Son of God, this is the Messiah who
has come down. But, like, these things are starting to click
more and more and more. And, I mean, finally after the
three years with Jesus that they had with Him, and we see Peter
who is faithfully preaching the Word in the book of Acts, the
day of Pentecost, and here on, and I'm sure he goes back to
that time, and when he's facing persecution, when he's facing
problems of life, He goes like, you know what, if Jesus can handle
a storm, Jesus can handle my problems of life. Jesus could
handle raising people from the dead, and Jesus can handle my
problems. And so I'm sure that Peter thought
about this time. I'm sure that John thought about this time,
or James, or Bartholomew, or Thomas, all the disciples would
think of this time that God was able to provide for them and
keep them, offer a sense of peace. The thing is that the disciples
they started to realize who Jesus is. They knew if he could heal
people, raise the dead to life, and calm a storm, he had to be
sent from God. The disciples faced a problem
that they never faced before. In their time of trouble, they
went how? I don't know how I wrote that
down. I'm sorry. They went from this problem that
they had and they thought they could handle on themselves to
the fact where they said, forget about our past. We're going to
go to Jesus so that He can handle our problems because He is the
God of the storm. And because they were able to,
they didn't have peace at the beginning of the storm, but until
the end where they realized that through Jesus Christ, God, he
was able to provide peace through safety, through security from
the storm. With the words, peace, be still,
he offered a sense of protection. The thing is, not only do disciples
face the problem of disbelief, not only do disciples back then
face the problem of unfaith or trusting issues, it is our natural
tendency to have, is not to have peace in the trials of life. not to have faith in Jesus when
we go through a storm. The thing is that when Jesus
came into our life, we can know and we can have peace at Jesus
Christ during our troubled times. I mean, if you're not here tonight,
I mean, simply Jesus came down. That's why we celebrate Christmas
this upcoming month. It's because God sent down His
Son to die on the cross for our sins so that we would have a
way to go to heaven. And because of that, we can know
that Jesus died on the cross for our sins. We know that Jesus
rose from the grave. We know that He's up in heaven
at the right hand of God interceding for us today. And we know that
we have also peace because we are saved. So everybody here,
everybody who's ever lived has been given a boat, if we can
say that. That boat is their life. Now, you can have a big
fancy boat if you're rich, or you can have a small little fishing
boat, or you can have a pontoon. I mean, what our boat size really
doesn't matter. But the thing is, who we have
on board matters when we face life issues. We all face the
storms of life. No matter if you are saved or
unsaved, storms affect every single person. Before we are,
say, facing problems, I mean, I can't imagine facing a storm
by myself. I have the privilege, I was saved
at a young age of 13, so I didn't have to face too many problems
of life that I did not have God on my side, or I didn't have
Jesus Christ on my side. but there's people in the world
today who face problems and they have a loved one who has passed
away, they have a loved one who's going through some type of serious
sickness right now and they have no hope, they have no peace,
they have no sense of safety, no sense of security because
they have no Jesus Christ in their heart. They don't have
Jesus Christ on their boat. And the storms of life are beating
on their boat, and the waves are coming on, the wind is knocking
over the mast, and everything is... they're going crazy, they're
panicking, they're stressing out, and they have no hope, they
have no peace. And the thing is, the peace that
passes all understanding comes through Jesus Christ. And I can't
imagine not being saved and going through some serious dilemma
in my life. I can't imagine going through
some relationship problem with your parents or with your spouse
or with your kids. I can't imagine going through
a problem in life without Jesus Christ when a family member has
passed away or a neighbor or co-worker has passed away tragically.
I can't imagine going through life. I can't imagine going through
the storms of life without Jesus Christ. Because the thing is
that Even though the storms come, and the thing is that storms
do come, but storms also cease to happen. I mean, we can't control
our storms, but the thing is we can control who is on our
boat with us. We can control whether we have
the peace, whether we trust in God, trust in Jesus in the hard
times. It is sad because many lost people
are missing so much, not having Jesus in their life. And where
he can say, peace, be still. Notice, I believe this message,
I mean, this is account, real history that happened. I believe
that, yes, we can read it, but I think this is more written
to the believers than just to unbelievers. I believe that we
can see as believers that we can have peace as Christians.
We can have peace through troubled times in life because of the
God we serve. It matters who is in the boat
with us. I mean, I know that I'm saved, and I know when I
face the problems of life, I know when somebody close to me has
passed away, if I'm going through some financial problems, if I'm
going through some health problems, if I'm going through some serious
illness, I know that Jesus is in my boat, and the thing is,
I know that Jesus is in my boat, but the thing is also, as Christians,
He's in our boat, but the thing is, we have to go to Jesus. You
see here that the disciples immediately went to their past. They're like,
no, I've handled problems on my own. I've done it. I've done
it successfully or unsuccessfully. I know how to handle my problems.
But the thing is, when Jesus is in your boat, you don't have
to handle your problems on your own. You can go to Jesus Christ
because he is the answer. He knows how to handle your problems.
I mean, maybe he has you to go through that storm. And the thing
is, it might not immediately cease. He wants you to go through
the storm, maybe to trust him more. May we have faith in Him
more. The disciples did not expect
a storm to happen when they were with Jesus. As I mentioned earlier,
storms can just happen out of the blue in the Sea of Galilee.
We live in an earth that has a lot of storms, hurricanes,
tornadoes, flash floods. I mean, flash floods happen just
like that. Flash. If anybody didn't know that,
flash happens like that. I mean we all we will never know
when the storm will come I mean now we do we have like radar
and stuff, but sometimes The meteorologist doesn't always
know right I mean like oh It's gonna be nice and sunny outside
with the 75 degrees weather with a slight breeze when reality.
It's like 65 Oh, let's go even colder 35 degrees outside with
a You guys probably don't experience that down here at all do you
know I There's a dilemma right there. I would just say it's
super ice outside and then you walk outside is humid outside
like it was at the rain this morning like and like the meteorologist
sometimes no sometimes they don't know. Sometimes we know when
storms are going to come today like we look on the weather app
like oh cool there's a storm coming. and you stay inside.
Or sometimes you don't even know that the storm's coming and storms
come. The thing is, and also in our lives, we don't know when
the things, the storms, problems of life, financial problems,
health problems, death and family, those problems, we will never
expect them to come sometimes. I mean, how do we know if we can, we
will never know when some storms will happen. We can, though we
can have peace through Jesus Christ. Maybe, as mentioned earlier,
there's death recently in your family. You lost a parent, or
a spouse, or a grandparent, or a child. Or it could be that
you learn that you might lose your job in the next couple months,
and you have no idea how to provide the income for your family. Or,
I mean, you're going through some problems with your neighbors,
you're going through some problems with your family, you're going
through some problems within the church, and you didn't expect
a storm to happen. You didn't expect this situation
to appear out of nowhere. I mean, at Sea of Galilee, nobody
is prepared for a storm. I mean, they have preparation,
but they're not ready for it when it hits. We're not ready
when we hear a phone call saying, hey, your mom has been placed
in a coma and she only has a couple hours left. We don't expect those
phone calls. We don't expect phone calls saying that your
child has passed away. We don't expect phone calls saying that,
hey, you're in debt and that we're going to have to foreclose
your house. We don't expect calls like, oh,
you may expect that call. But I mean, we don't expect a
lot of calls like that. Sorry, that was ill placed. I'm
really sorry. I was trying to build up a moment. I just lost it right
there. But the thing is that storms of life, whatever they
may be, maybe you're going through a storm right now. Some of us
are going through storms. Some of us are not. I don't know
everybody's place right now in their life, but I know where
I'm at. I know if I were to have a storm, and maybe you guys are
going through storms, and you're not showing what you're going
through, which is totally fine. But the thing is that storms
come, and it matters who is on our boat, but it also matters
if we go to Jesus in that time of... Sorry, I can't even speak. It matters when we come to...
in those problems of life, the storms of life, it matters if
we... who we have Jesus on our boat, if we have Jesus on our
boat, but also if we go to Jesus during those times. In the past,
maybe you were unsaved, and you were saved later in life. And
you see, this is how I handle my problems on my own. This is
how I did it. I had the old bucket method of getting the water off.
I had the squeegee method. I had the nails and boards method. And the thing is that you're
going through a problem in life right now, and you're a new saved
Christian, or you're a Christian. And the thing is, you're like,
how is this problem not being fixed? But the thing is that
you are saved, and you have Jesus Christ on your boat. And the
only thing you have to do is go to Him. The thing is, storms
will come, storms will worsen, but there is always an end. But
during the storm, you can find peace through Jesus Christ. You can have peace through troubled
times in your life because of the God we serve. Nobody expects
a child to come in their life. Nobody thinks that any hard times
will come to them or their family's life. The thing is, we can find
peace through Jesus Christ. We can find peace through troubled
times in life because of the God we serve. But how can we
find peace through trials when we are here or when they are
coming? Again, we can find peace in those
hard times through Jesus Christ. We also can find peace in who
Jesus is. He's our savior. He's been there when we are at
the worst place in our lives. He has been faithful, as mentioned
tonight, to us, even when no one else will be there for us.
Your joy does not come from your situation, but who gives us joy? And if your joy was based upon
your situations, then we would be all over the place like a
roller coaster. And Jesus is all we need. I mean,
as humans, we like to see something physical. We like to see how
that somebody can physically take care of us, how that our
problems are physical. The thing is, we don't think
like God at all. We don't see our problems as God sees them.
The thing is, hopefully we can see them as God sees them. Hopefully
we can see the problems that we face. And the first thing
that we do is go to God, go to Jesus Christ. Because we can
find peace in Him. We can find peace, He will comfort
you. I mean, just simply by reading the Word of God. I mean, we can
find peace through Jesus Christ through praying. Now, I really
haven't been through major storms of life. I really, I mean, I've
had a couple of close friends who have passed away. But the
thing is, I'm speaking as kind of a novice to this situation.
But the thing is that the Bible knows, and the thing is that
Jesus knows how to handle the problems. And Jesus says, trust
in Him. And the thing is that you go
to Jesus in those hard times. I mean, yes, you can talk to
a pastor or Mrs. Christo and say, hey, how do
I handle these problems? And I know they say, look, go
to God in prayer. Seek the Lord in this hard time.
And the thing is that no matter how you handle the problems that
you faced in the past, it doesn't matter. We have Jesus on our
boat. Go to Jesus Christ. I mean, He
is there. He is waiting for us to call
to Him. I mean, I'm sure that Jesus knew
the situation is going on. He knew that they're going through
a storm. He knew that this problem was more that they can handle.
The only thing is He was waiting for them to come. There can be danger also by neglecting
Jesus during troubled times. The thing is, too many Christians
have made a train wreck of their situation. They say, why God?
Why did you do this to me? When really they should have
said, Lord, I need your help. I mean, they say, God, why did
you do this? Why did you take my mom? Why did you take my dad
from me? And you're shaking your fist at God saying, why did you
do this? Why did you do this? But instead, you should go to
God in prayer. You should go to God and seek
God, seek Jesus Christ in your troubling times. I'm sure you guys, I mean, the
close friends I speak of is Josh Hockerman, Rodney Mitchell, and
pastors mentioned him many times. And let me tell you, yes, it
was comforting to be at church, but it was also, it was more
comforting to go to Jesus Christ. Because in reality, I mean, my
pastor, who was my youth pastor when I was in high school, he
couldn't handle my problems. My pastor couldn't handle my
problems. Let me tell you, the only person who can handle your
problems truly is Jesus Christ. I mean, with your dad, Mr. Crystal, what he went through
in 2019, he went through some... I mean, he was practically...
I mean, he was dead on the surgery table, operating table. And the
thing is that our church, they saw that they could go to Jesus
Christ and they depended upon Jesus during that hard time.
I mean, we face problems of life. I don't know which each and every
single person is going through. Maybe you think, my storm is
so small. But it doesn't matter. Jesus
will help you through the smallest storms of life. Lord, I mean,
it's a little bigger than the smallest storm, but I mean, it's
not a big storm of life. I mean, you're going through,
I can't think of anything, like you're going through something
right now, and you know exactly the storm. Or maybe you know
you've been through a storm where you're like, I'm about to go
into a storm. And you're like, no, Lord, I
don't know. The thing is that Jesus is there
and he cares for you. I mean, it could be a big storm
and the thing is we can look at the situation and we can say,
why Lord, why did you do this? Why did you allow me to go through
this storm? Why am I in this storm? But instead of saying,
why, why, why? We should say, Lord, help me
in the storm. We should go to Jesus because
he is in the boat with us. He is there for us because he
can offer us peace during the hard times. If you are in a time
of trial, and the walls of trouble are caving in on you, remember
you can have peace through troubled times in life because of the
God we serve. I hear that the disciples had
a situation in front of them. They had a problem with this
massive storm, this great storm. And the waves beat into the ship,
and so that was now full. And the thing is that they came
to Jesus finally after trying to fix their problems on their
own. They came to Jesus and said, And He rose and rebuked the wind
and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased.
And there was a great calm. The thing is that we can go through
storms in our life, but we can find peace through Jesus Christ. And I hope the day when I ever
go through a massive storm, or even a small storm, I can say,
I can't handle this problem on my own. As King Asa said, I can't
handle this problem on my own with the Ethiopians. As the disciples
finally realized that they can't handle the problems on their
own, they had to come to Jesus. Hopefully I can say when the
times of trouble, hopefully you can say in the times of trouble,
of pain, of the storms, when they come, you can say, I can
trust Jesus. I can have peace through Jesus
Christ. Because we can have peace through the troubled times in
life because of the God we serve. God can control everything because
Jesus was miraculous back then and He's also miraculous today.
But the thing is that we just have to simply trust who's on
the boat. We have to reach out who's on
the boat because when we reach out to Jesus, Jesus will be there
for us. Bow your heads and close your
eyes for me. This is the beginning of the time of invitation. The
thing is that you all may or may not be going through a storm
in life. If you're saying you're not in
the storm of life, you're like, Lord, I just need simply to trust
in you when that time comes. But if you're in a storm right
now, you know, I mean, we can find fellowship, we can find
somewhat safety, security and peace with people here. But ultimate
peace can only come through Jesus Christ. Because he's the
