Welcome to the From the Field broadcast. It is my hope and prayer that God will use this message to touch your heart. Thank you for listening. May God bless.
You see, this propitiation herein is love. Not that we love God. We were born enemy against God, contrary to God with a rebel nature. I'm glad I repented. I'm glad repentance came. It's the goodness of God that leads man to repentance. The reason I know I repent to a godly sort that needeth not to be repented of is because I'm still repenting. The reason that you know that you repented to a godly sort that needs not to be repented of is because you're still repenting.
I'm glad there was faith involved. I'm glad that I had some faith to believe in Jesus. That God will justify all them that believe in Jesus. We know that faith come by hearing and hearing by the word of God. How shall he preach unless he be sent from God? How shall he hear unless there be a preacher? And so we know these wonderful truths. We also know that faith is a beautiful thing.
Faith, according to the book of Ephesians, chapter number two. The Bible says this, for by grace are you saved through faith and that not of yourselves. It is the gift of God. When God first saved me, I remember testifying about it. I couldn't help it. And I'd say, man, God saved me. I would testify about it and get all excited. I said, man, I remember the night I went down the aisle and I prayed and I prayed through and I said, God, I'm sorry for all these things. As I got older, the salvation in me was growing and working good. As I was growing in the grace of God and maturing as a believer, much like Paul's testimony, there was a pivoting point where I got smaller and God got bigger.
Paul said on Damascus Road, I saw a light and a voice saying, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? And then later he says, I saw a great light and a voice saying, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? He said, I saw a light that did outshine the new day sun, and a voice saying, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? Oh, oh, the grace that came down on the man. Oh, dear friend of mine tonight, can we understand that it's God that saves and reflect and rejoice in the fact that Christ is our Savior.
Paul said it like this in Philippians 4, 4, Rejoice in the Lord always. And again I say, Rejoice! I'm going to rejoice in everything that I've done. Well, I'm going to rejoice in what He's done. I'm going to step out in that fourth dimension of love, not understand all of it, but I say thank God somewhere, out there, out yonder, in eternity past, when God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost somehow had me on their mind. He was a lamb crucified before the foundation of the world, before God said, let there be light. He was already crucified. He was already in his time, thank God.
Tell us about it, old Bartimaeus. sat by the highway side begging. What happened, sir? I was sitting there one day, jiggling my cup, like I always did. I heard somebody coming by, and I said, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me. All those men sitting there said, Bartimaeus, shh, you hush now. It's amazing, his name is Bartimaeus, son of Timaeus. That word bar means son of. So then he says, blind son of Timaeus, son of Timaeus. Inherited something from his father. Blindness. No name. Just a nobody. Just an old blind man. Don't be hushin' me now! Hey, Jesus! That's not a baby! Have mercy on me! They said, rise! He called us to it. God bought a man as he took off that garment. He laid it down. That was his identity. That's what identified him as a beggar, as a blind man. Smelly, nasty old road. He said, I'm not coming back this way. I don't know what's going to happen when I get up there. But I know he's able to save. He's able to touch me. He's able to do what nobody else can do. Nobody, I don't even have a name, but somehow he called me. Woo! I ain't got a name, but somehow he called me. Woo! Bless his name.
Jesus said, what shall I do to you, Barnabas? What can I do to you, sir? He said, Lord, that I might receive my sight. And he said, he said, sir, he said that I might could see again. And Jesus said, go thy way. Thy faith hath made thee whole.
First thing he saw was Jesus. First thing he saw was Jesus. First thing we'll see when God saves us is Jesus. Oh, yes. The revelation of Jesus Christ revealed to us by the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ, the image of Christ shining bright as the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ goes out, pulling men out of darkness into his marvelous light. Amen. Woo! Bless this good night.
Bartimaeus was changed. Jesus leaves Jericho. You ever notice that? He never comes to Jericho again. Goes all the way to Calvary. Maybe you're here tonight thinking you've got plenty of time. Don't gamble your soul. Preacher, I'll get saved when I want to. I used to think that. Well, God will deal with me. God said, Lord, as soon as we get home, I'll do it. I'd run home, I'd get in my bedroom, I'd pray and say, Oh God, forgive me my sin. My prayer would get about a foot off the ground. I'd say, this ain't working. See, I was wanting to take God's gift on my terms. Well, that's not a gift then, is it? Oh, you got to take it when He's wanting to give it to you.
How about that old blind man over there, John 5? I mean that lame man in the pool of Bethesda. Those five porches stretched out there. You tell us about it. Tell us about that higher dimension of the love of God.
Well, I was just sitting over here. I tried many times to get down in the water, but I couldn't get down there. I tried, and I would pull myself, and I would claw my way. And when I saw Trouble in the movie, I knew what was said. I knew that, but I would try and try and try. And all the time, I kept trying. I could never get in. I tried so much. I couldn't get in on my own. I tried. You can't get in on your own.
As I set up her one day, this mine come walking in. It was full of eminent folk, blind, deaf, halt, crippled lame. And Jesus comes walking in. Slips past one, gets past another. He walks all the way. How amazing. He can have spoke one word and healed the whole crowd. He said, sir, he said, why are you laying here like this? He said, I have no man to put me in when the water's troubled. Jesus said, rise, take up thy bed and walk.
I was just laying there all by myself, minding my own business, and Jesus come walking by. Is that how he does it? He was just a Savior. He's the only one with the title Savior. He's the only shepherd that goes after lost sheep. He's never come back empty handed. Oh, that's him tonight. That's the Savior. Praise God, he saved us, thank God. Changed us, put us in a new way. We might reflect and stare and look and wonder how it all happened.
Jonah, over there in his spot, over there in that place. Tell us about it, Jonah. Well, I was trying to go to Tarsus the best way that I could, but somehow I didn't make it there. I got through and overboard, found myself in the belly of a whale, calling out to God. He said the depths, He said they came around and suffocated my soul. Isn't that amazing what we think was a wrong choice? to run from God, to go to Tarsus, to get swallowed by a whale. Somehow the whole thing ends up in the New Testament with Jesus Christ himself saying, as Jonah was in the belly of the whale three days, so shall the son of man be in the hardly earth.
I don't know how all that works, but I just say praise God. He's in control. My daddy owns it all, thank God. Count up a thousand hills and the hills. We're in a good way, thank God. Christ said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man come to the Father but by me. Jesus Christ is the one. He's the way, dear heart. There's no one like him.
For every time that you've heard me pray, I just want to thank you, Lord, for always being there. As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country.
Thank you for tuning into the broadcast today. I hope and pray it's been a blessing to you. Please send all correspondence to Brother Andrew at P.O. Box 2237, Blairsville, Georgia, 30512. Thank you. May God bless you.
He's been so good to me. That is the least that I could afford. He's made the good times outnumber the bad. And he's been the best friend that I've ever had. I just want to thank you, Lord. Thank you, Lord.
