I truly believe with all my heart.
Hey, I'm going to the little book of Jude right here, book
number 65 in your 66 books of the Bible, book number 65. And this book written right around
69 AD. Now, one of the later books to
be written, actually, John wrote later than that. He wrote the
book of Revelation in around 96 A.D. And 1st, 2nd, and 3rd
John he wrote also in around 90 A.D. But here is Jude writing
to us and what he's warning us about in this book. And man,
I know I won't finish my thoughts in this today, but it's really
been in my heart, it's been on my heart. A statement was made
a couple of weeks ago, I don't remember now who made it, someone
in the national spotlight, but said, now we're looking at a
nation where Jesus is on the outskirts. Did you get that?
Jesus is on the outskirts. He's not in the center. where
once he was, where our founding fathers had him, but he's on
the outskirts. And I must agree with that. And
Jude, looking at this time, now let me share something with you
too. Don't forget, Jude is the, he's the brother of Jesus. They
had, of course, different fathers. They had the same mother. Mary
was his mother too. He was the brother of James who
wrote the book of James, and James was again the brother of
the Lord Jesus, the half-brother. Same mother, different father.
Joseph was their father. But, can you imagine growing
up with the Lord Jesus Christ, Him being in the home? Can you
imagine that? But these fellas did. And at
the time that Jude writes this, you've got to get this historical
picture too. At the time he writes this, persecution
from Rome has picked up big time. Rome is killing Christians right
and left. As a matter of fact, just best
I can tell, probably three years before Jude is written, before
he writes this epistle, his brother James is killed, full brother
James is killed, martyred. So Jude writes this, it's not
just a, can we say, it's not just a word to fill up pages
or fill up a script for us, it actually comes from his heart
and the Holy Spirit of course is the inspiration of it and
the word of God is God breathed, God gives it to them. And they
wrote divinely inspired every word without any kind of error
or fallacy in it. Every book of the Bible is God's
word. God breathed book. All scripture,
Paul told us, is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for
reproof, rebuke, instruction, and righteousness. He goes on
and on to tell us that it is a God breathed book. That is
Jude. But it's also a book experienced. You know, the writers, as they
wrote, they experienced the things, they were already experiencing
things they were writing about. Paul was writing many, he wrote
his greatest epistles from prison. If anybody ought to know how
to be joyful in the times of persecution it would be Paul
and the entire book of Philippians is about that very thing of joy
in the midst of prison, in the midst of a time of turmoil, joy,
joy. He warned us, Paul did in 1 and
2 Timothy, you know these fellows went through it, Jude went through
it, he's going through it now as he writes this. And I think
if there's anybody that wanted to write an encouraging word,
it would have been Jude. And that's what he tells us.
He says, first of all, I wanted to write an encouraging word
to you. And Jude, the servant of Jesus
Christ, his brother, but look, he says, I'm a servant, I'm a
slave. to Jesus. Jesus has ascended back to the
Father. Remember, He's ascended back
some 36 years before. Jesus ascended to the Father,
so Jude hasn't laid eyes on Him physically. He grew up with Him
for those 30 years. But he hasn't laid eyes on him
since then, and he says, though, but I'm a servant of Jesus Christ. When Christ rose from the dead,
these brothers and sisters, by the way, he had sisters too.
Okay, so you ladies can understand that Jesus had sisters and brothers
And Jude says, I haven't seen him but I'm a slave to him They
saw him in his resurrection They saw him alive and was around
him During those days, that 40-50 day period there That our Lord
Jesus stayed on this earth Before he ascended back to the Father
And notice this He says, I'm a servant of Jesus Christ, I'm
the brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the
Father and preserved in Jesus Christ and called. So who's he
writing to? He's writing to believers. He's
writing to you and I. He's writing to every age. that
would read this, who are number one, sanctified or set apart
by God the Father, preserved in Jesus Christ, called of God.
That's all of us, that's every believer on planet Earth. Says,
I'm writing unto you. Notice he says, mercy unto you,
and peace, and love be multiplied. James, or excuse me, Jude here,
a broken heart over his brother James, a broken heart over so
many others. that he has witnessed their death.
Jude says, mercy and peace and love be multiplied to you. I want to write you an encouraging
epistle Beloved, in verse 3, when I gave all diligence to
write unto you of this common salvation, of this great salvation
that we have, this wonderful salvation that we know about,
we as believers understand. The lost world does not understand
because salvation is not something you understand, it's something
you experience. It's a relationship. You don't
understand a relationship. How do you understand relationships
between people that love each other? You don't understand it,
you experience it. That's the wonderful thing about
it. And he says, hey you understand
this and I'm writing to you and I give all diligence to write
to you of this common salvation. We understand it who have believed.
But look what he says in the last part of verse 3. But, he
said, I can't do that. God won't let me. It's needful
for me to write unto you and to exhort you that you should
earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto
the saints. He said, now listen, I would
with all my heart want to write you an epistle, a letter this
expounding, this wonderful salvation I've experienced and the mercy
and the truth and the grace of our Lord Jesus, but he says I
can't do that. What I got to do is get you on
the battleground, make you realize who the enemy is, understand
where we are and what's going on. He says, I want you to earnestly
contend for the faith. Stand up and fight for the faith.
That's really what it means. Paul tells us in his own writings,
That we're to endear hardness, 2 Timothy 2, 3 and 4 Endear hardness
as a good soldier for Jesus Christ Now that's warfare language Resist
the devil and he'll flee from you James said, the brother of
Jude Fight the good fight of faith Earnestly contend for the
faith You say, man, stand up and fight for the faith That's
not the Dale Carnegie course on how to win friends and influence
people. It's put your dukes up and be
ready because we're in a battle. We're in a fight, and we certainly
are. A couple of weeks ago, out in
Las Vegas, Nevada, two fellas, two 17-year-old young men, stole
a car. Traveling down the road, one
of them was videoing on his phone all of the horrible things they
could do with this stolen car. They side-swiped another car
and just knocked it over and just left. And they filmed it,
videoed it, running. They saw an older gentleman riding
his bicycle in the back lane down the road. The one that was
driving looked over to the other and says, get this on video.
Be sure you get this. Man, this is our heyday. And
he pulls over in the back lane and blows the horn and races
the engine and hits the bicycle and he falls up on the hood,
bounces over the top of the car and the guy videos this and turns
around and watches him bounce on the road. He was a retired
police officer, police chief. Andre Probst, I believe is how
you pronounce his name, filmed it there and watched him bounce
in the road and said, man, we have done so good. Now, some
said, and were correct, this shows how far that we've gone
in the direction of no compassion and without morals and without
God in our midst. They caught the two fellas and
they're facing murder charges, premeditated, all that's out
there. But it brings to our mind this
truth, what James or Jude is saying right here. And he says,
we got to contend for the faith. Now why did these men not have
any kind of a moral standard in their mind and heart that
they would not know that thou shalt not kill? You cannot commit
murder. Life's the most precious thing.
Because in their lifetime, in the schools they've been brought
up in, in their doctrines that they've been taught is you are
an animal, so just act like an animal. You are not made in the
image of God. You're not a true, you're not
a true direct result of God giving life. You are just an animal
so act like one. And that's exactly what they
did. They're the product of where our society's gone. And we say,
well, and I take, I take, the church takes part of the blame
for that because We've been silent. That's what Jude is, that's who
he's writing to. I'm writing to you, church. Get
a hold of this, church. Grab a hold of this. I'm writing
to you. You gotta earnestly contend for
the faith. You gotta be out there with the
truth. You gotta stand in the public square and speak the truth. You gotta tell others the truth.
Be sure they have the truth. One of the founders of our I
believe it was Madison. No, it was John Adams. John Adams
said that this democracy that we have, this form of government,
is absolutely inadequate for any people unless they are a
God-fearing, Jehovah God-fearing people. It won't work for folks
who don't know God. That's simply what he's saying.
This form of democracy won't work for people who don't know
God. And he's correct, it will not. These two young men lacked
even that moral compass of saying that what they were about to
do, take the life of an individual, was not fun, it wasn't just excitement,
it was just evil. And Satan filled their heart.
It goes back not only from the church, but it goes back to parenting
as well. I couldn't believe what I read
out of the King's College. It's not King College here in
Bristol, but in London, England, is the King's, you can look it
up, the King's College. And they did a survey of 24 countries
around the world, checking on the moral values in 24 different
countries. America came in toward the very
last in their survey of moral values when this question was
asked. Think about this for a moment.
Is it more important that your children be taught any other teaching that might
be a culture in your land or to be taught obedience and civility. Listen now, parents, should you
teach your children obedience? And number two, to be civil,
to be a part of society. And guess what? America came
down, only 21% of Americans believe that the children should be taught
obedience and civility and how to get along. They named all
the other of the culture issues, you just start naming them, they
named every one of them as much more important than these two. Ladies and gentlemen, if our
children are not taught obedience, If they're not taught civility
and the respect of human life, if they're not taught that, where
on earth are they going to receive it? How will they receive it? The church has that responsibility.
Parents has that ultimate responsibility. And Jude is writing to us here
and he's saying, listen, There's nothing more I'd love to do than
to write an encouraging word to you. But what I've got to
write under the inspiration of God is that we're in a warfare. We're in a battle. And he goes
on to list some things about it. Now I want to talk a little
bit more about the warfare before I get in. He details it in his
book. But here's, I want you to think
about it. In any warfare, in World War I, in World War
II, in Korea, in Vietnam, any of the ancient battles that were
fought throughout the Bible, any of these warfares or wars
that you want to read the history of, and I've read a history of
a bunch of them, there's three positions, I call it, three stances
you can take in a warfare. America's done all three, but
there's three. Now what are those three? I call it battle positions. Maybe there's even four. But
a battle, either you're in the battle or you're not, the first
position you can take is offense. That's where you take the battle
to them. Did you know during World War II that Lord, old Prime
Minister Winston Churchill up there in England, here's what
he said. He said these very words. He said to his commander-in-chief
of his armies, Lord Mountbatten, he said, listen, don't you ever
plan a defensive move, you plan on offense. You're not going
to run, you're going to fight. And you plan offensively in everything. So he did. And we're going to
fight to the man, and that's exactly what Churchill said,
we'll fight in the streets, we'll fight in the corners, we'll fight
in the basements, we're going to plan offensively. So you can
have offense, number two, you can be defense and defend only,
and there's much of that, I think perhaps the church is somewhere
there today, I'm not even sure we're even in the defense. because
we don't even go out to the voting booth and vote. We don't do this
standing in the public square and taking our stand and saying,
wait a minute, the Bible says this, the Bible says this, abortion's
wrong. We know this. We won't do that. We have offense, defense. Then there's the thing, during
the days of President Jimmy Carter, he's 99 now, President Carter
had a thing, and you may remember this word. You remember the word
detente? Detente? It's a French word. It means
a slackening of the bowstrings. In other words, you're not fighting,
you're not defending, but you've loosened the bowstrings so you
can't shoot, and you've became at ease in your position. and that allowed the Shah of
Iran, you remember him? The Shah of Iran, and he, excuse
me, the Ayatollah, I wish we had the Shah of Iran, the Ayatollah
Khomeini, remember that name? And he took those hostages in
the days of Carter, and as quick as President Reagan the very
day that he was sworn in as president, they released the hostages because
he was not going to do detente, the slacking of the bowstring.
As a matter of fact, he already had prepared the armies would
be strengthened and we were going out after them. We were going
to get our hostages back and the Ayatollah released But in
the days of Jimmy Carter, detente was that time of the slackening
of the bow strings. And then there's one more. I
don't even call this a position, but it actually is. You can desert. You can just run away. Throw in the towel. Forget it. That's, in my opinion,
is the least of all of these positions. offense, defense,
detente, desert, but the only one that really to me makes sense,
the only one really that strikes fear in the heart of the devil
is when the church is on offense. It's when the church is standing
on the truth and standing on the word of God and proclaiming
truth, proclaiming the gospel message, proclaiming the principles
of God's word. Thou shalt not kill or steal
or destroy or murder or lie or cheat. You just stand on the
principles which we know is right. even without the Bible. Nations
who don't even have a Bible or have never even heard of God,
they have within them the very consciousness of that which is
right and wrong. They already have that. They
know there's a God because they have within them this knowledge
in the conscience that's born. The heavens declare the glory
of God. We see His handiwork up there. They know that. And when someone
does wrong in their village, they know that. without a list
of room. And so the church's position
today is a position where we stand on truth, we speak up,
and we're in this battle. You notice something here. Jude
says to us in verse number four, there are certain men crept in
unaware. They have deceptively entered in to the church in that
day. He said they've come in and these
are men who were before of old ordained to this condemnation.
What do you mean by that preacher? That they were chosen to do this? No, not that they were individually
chosen, but their background, their instructions, their information,
like Marxism today, has so filled their minds that they are going
out in two to infiltrate. Satan has always been an anti-Christ. Anything he can do to duplicate
what God does, except in an evil way, he does. Satan is an imposter,
he's an imitator and that's all he does I don't think he has
original ideas himself He sees what God does and then he imitates
that He does that which is the opposite That's the mind of the
old enemy And these men were ordained of old Ordained to this
condemnation, ungodly men Turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness
Now you can Google that word, lasciviousness, and you know
what it brings up? It brings up Galatians 5, 17.
They won't give you the Bible reference, but that's exactly
the meaning of the word lasciviousness that Google has. And of course,
it's an unbridled sensuality. It's the grace. He says they've
turned the grace of God into that which is a license. You
do whatever, and God is just so pleased with you. And the
answer is no, no he isn't. God has standards, God has rules,
God has his way and his principles and that's that. But he says
these men have crept in and said listen now, he's turned the grace
of God. Just like these two fellas, I'll
guarantee you that somewhere in some church in America, These
two young men that run over that retired police officer and videoed
him, I'll guarantee you that some pulpit, someone stood and
said, well, that was their prerogative. They made that choice. And I'm
sure it somehow could be justified. You've got to look back at their
background. And this, yes, we do look at the background. Ladies
and gentlemen, it's not justified. There's no way. And when you
see this, now here's the next step after this They deny the
only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ That's the most horrible
place to ever be Here's where now, once you fall into this
twisting the grace of God for this, that and the other Then
you fall into this place where you actually deny God You deny
Him the Lord Jesus. And that's where Jude is writing.
He said, by the way, if you wonder if Jude's talking from experience,
when Jesus first started his ministry, the gospels record
for us that his brothers did not believe him. Neither did
his sisters. They didn't believe he's the
Messiah. They said, hey, he's not the Messiah. That's good
old Jesus. We ate oatmeal together. We had
sardines for breakfast. That's good old Jesus. And the
Bible says they did not believe in him, his own brothers and
sisters. But when he rose from the grave
and he went back and they saw him, they believed on him. And
James is different and Jude is different and all the others
were different. They believed on him. But James,
and James is upset that they did not, they denied the only
Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ. They denied. And that's the step
where I'm afraid America is approaching. We're in that place where, and
it's not just began over the last four years or the last eight. Back in 1962 and 1963, prayer
and the Bible were taken out of the school. 1980, the commandments were taken
down. You see exactly what James was
prophesying. The Lord God denied the Lord
Jesus Christ. We were going in that direction
then and we've reached a place now that we find ourselves at
this spot where the two young men, 17 years old, could do what
they did. Now I'm going to stop right here.
I want you to look at something. You're in the book of Jude. What
does he tell us to do in these days? Verse number 20. Here's what he tells us to do
Here is what he is saying to us as believers Here's what he's
telling us in these days Do not quit Do not throw in the towel
Do not desert Don't just defend But go on offense And here's
what he says But ye beloved, building up yourselves on your
most holy faith. Ah, what's he saying? He says,
listen. You get in your Bible, you get
in your Word Faith comes by hearing, hearing by the Word of God You
get in that Bible, you process that Bible You let that Bible
process in you You get the Word of God within you The Word of
God cleanses us, the Word of God preserves us The Word of
God guides us, the Word of God is there for us It gives us that
peace of mind, God's Word throughout the scriptures. Get in that.
Psalms is so wonderful for peace in these days and Proverbs is
so wonderful for instruction. Here it is, October the 1st.
Read you Proverbs number 1. Read Proverbs number one and
take that one for each day on the month of the calendar and
read you a proverb for that day. Pick you out some other books
of the Bible and let that day represent a chapter that you're
going to read. You process the word of God.
You build up yourself on your most, excuse me, holy faith. Put it in there. Get that Bible
in there. Take it in, because it does a
work. It's a living word of God. It's
quick, powerful, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing
even to the dividing and sunder of the joints and the Myra, and
is the discerner of the thoughts of the intents of the heart.
God's word is that powerful. Truly is. I remember speaking
to a man who was a Jehovah's Witness, and he said to me, I
want to give you some of my watchtower material. I said, sure, I'll
take it, but can I give you one of my church bulletin materials
here, it was a track, and I reached in my pocket and he, no, no I
can't take that. And I said, well why would you
refuse that if I'm going to take your material, I'd like to know
what you guys are saying now, believe. He said, I can't take
yours. I said, who told you you couldn't
take mine? I've been told I cannot take it. I said, could it be
that I've got the truth and you don't? He said, now this conversation
is going the wrong way. I said, no, it's not. Thank you.
I appreciate that. I said, no, it's not going the
wrong way. It's actually going the right way. And you know what? He was afraid of the truth. That
is a horrible place to be. When you get afraid of the truth
it means that there are some kind of a principle of existence
that's in your mind that is false. Because the only people who are
afraid of the truth are those who are involved, are wrapped
up and taken in by falsehood. And the truth will set them free.
Boy I've seen that so often the truth will set you free I had
two Mormons come by the house one time Sandra wasn't there
and she would have been the third Mormon but anyway I'm sorry I
say crazy things I got purple on I can't help it but anyway
two Mormons was with me and we were discussing Joseph Smith
by the way let's see somebody might help me, but I believe
1823 is when he got those golden tablets from the big kahuna angel
somewhere in New York, so it's 200 years old. Anybody know that
besides me? Pretty sure I'm right. Well,
if you don't know it, just take my word for it. Amen? 200 years. And I had the two Mormon boys
sitting there and they were talking to me. And they're so convincing. They said, you know, we believe
in Jesus Christ. We believe he died on the cross. I said, but here's my question,
do you believe he's God? Well now, we believe he was a
good man. We believe he was a good prophet.
And we believe that he's part of the resurrection. You hear
that, part of the resurrection? I said, well, okay. He said,
we believe that, but we've got the rest of the truth. Now listen
at this language. So I said, you mean that I don't
have all the truth? And he grabbed my Bible, may
have been this one right here. He said, yeah, we believe that's
the truth, but we've got the rest of it. The rest that that
angel gave to, was it Joseph Smith, am I saying that right?
Yeah, I gave to Joseph Smith, 18 and 23, I'm pretty sure I'm
right, it's 200 years old. The angel gave him that and we
got the rest of it. You want to see the rest of it?
I said, yeah, give me a book of Mormon. I've got one in my
study. He said, this explains the rest
of it. I said, fellas, let me just ask
you something. Now, you said you believe Jesus
Christ? Yes. You believe that he formed
his church? And they even agreed with that.
And I said, now, don't you think it's, wouldn't it be crazy for
God to leave his church for 200 years or will it, no, to leave
his church for 1,873 years without all the truth? Why would God
do that? Why would Jesus leave his church
for 1,823 years without all the truth? If you say that I've got
part of the truth but you have the rest of it and the rest didn't
come till 1,823 and 1,823 is 1,823 years after the death of
Christ A.D. then why did Jesus leave his
church 1,823 years without the entire truth? I ask that question and
the younger Mormon The light came on for him. He
opened, man, he went like he went, wow, that's a good question. And the older Mormon said, he
closed all of his satchel up and he said, it's time we left
here. It's time we got out of this room. Thank you, Mr. Davis,
for your time. I said, fellows, let's talk some
more. No, we're really busy. We have to move along. Now you
see what I'm saying, you build up yourself on your most holy
faith You pray in the Holy Spirit, praying under the power of the
Spirit, under the influence of the Spirit Get this Word in you,
let this Word arrive in you and change you Pray in the Spirit,
keep yourselves in the love of God It's not that you're keeping
God in love with you, it's keeping your love to God What does he
say? The first commandment to Israel,
and they quote this all the time, Hear, O Israel, thou shalt love
the Lord thy God with all thy heart, soul, mind, and strength.
That's your first commandment, and it is, and Jesus re-quoted
that in the New Testament. He said, Hear, O Israel, thou
shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, soul, mind, and
strength. And the second commandment's like unto this, Love your neighbor
as yourself. Jesus said that. You love God,
you love your neighbor. And he says right here, here's
what you're to do, church. Here's what you're doing, believers.
You're building up yourself in the word of God. You're praying
under the power of the Holy Ghost. You're keeping in love yourself
with God. You're looking for the mercy
of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. Now what's the
looking for? That's how hopeful you are. You're looking, you're hopeful.
You're not one that says, hey, it's over. We've done and lost
it. And, you know, it's just, it's so sad, it's so bad. Listen,
we're hopeful of the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, and I
like this, the next two verses. And of some, have compassion,
making a difference. He says, get out there and witness.
Have compassion, understand who they are. Have compassion, make
a difference. And then others, verse 23, save
with fear, pulling them out of the fire. Do you see that? Pulling
them out of the fire. In other words, they're about
ready to drop into hell. They're just about ready to end
their life. Or they're about ready to be
completely consumed by the devil. Reach in the fire and get them.
And bring them out. Give them the truth. Break the
strongholds of the devil in their lives. God will do that. Save
with fear pulling them out of the fire Hating even the garments
spotted by the flesh That's what we're to do There's so much more
in this book of Jude What he is saying here is this Wake up,
look up church We are in the battle We do have an enemy And
his name is Satan And he gives examples of apostasy here But
do you know in every one of them in every single one in verse
4 where it says these ungodly men turned the grace of God into
lasciviousness. Those ungodly men were filled
with ungodly Satan. Those ungodly people were full
of demonic possession. These two young men had demon
possession in them. No doubt about it. You don't
have that kind of murder in your mind unless you're demon possessed. Satan is a murderer. He's a liar. And these folks that we're trying
to set free, these people that we're reaching into the fire
and pulling out, these folks that we're trying to give the
truth to are the people that Satan has filled. My number one
enemy is the devil. I hate him. I can't wait. The Bible says one day you and
I will get to see him cast into the lake of fire. One day we'll
get to see Jesus, the mighty angel, as Revelation records
for us, chain the rascal up and throw him in the bottomless pit
For a thousand years while the kingdom is on this earth And
then one day we will watch him thrown into the lake of fire
I can't wait for that day There's so many human beings that I see
Precious souls that I see, that I know That he is lying to, he
is deceiving He has filled them with his word and his doctrine
And you and I all the time We got the answer. I want to be
on the offense. I don't want to be in the defense.
I've had some hits and I'll have them every week. I've had some
powerful attacks last night. Powerful attacks before I brought
this message. If I got three hours or four
hours sleep, I was doing super well. And it was all demonic
attacks, Satan attacks, because he knew this message was coming.
All of that, they're out there. And I hate him, but I love every
individual on planet Earth, regardless of who they are, the color of
the skin, their nationality, makes no difference. I love him. God loves him. He made him in
his image. And I am going to be on the offense,
not defense, not detente. Well, let's slacken the bowstring. Let's just ease up. You know,
preacher, you could preach a kinder message and you wouldn't have
fought hell last night. You could preach one And it would
be kind of, ladies and gentlemen, we cannot set deck chairs out
on the sinking Titanic. And that's where we are. We've
got a sinking ship. We're not going to set deck chairs
out and throw our feet up while she turns belly up and sinks. If I go, I want to go fighting
the good fight of faith, don't you? I want to go telling others. I want to go praying people in,
bringing them in, doing everything I possibly can to get them in.
That's what I want to do, no matter who they are. I'm looking everywhere I go,
every day, which is a lot of places. And I'm looking for those
folks that I don't think they've ever probably been overlooked
with the gospel message. Give them a track. Some cases
I'll give them some money if I don't think they need. Or they
tell me they have. I ran into a guy yesterday. He
looked horrible. He really did. And he said, hey
bud, I got 15 cents. Now I know, you know, he may
have after I walked around, went around and got in a brand new
Chevrolet Denali, you know. If that happens, I know that.
I don't think he did that. First of all, he wasn't able
to walk, best I could tell. But anyway, you got those scams. That's how I reached in my pocket.
I had a $20 bill. I had a $20, I think I still
got a $1 bill, and I had a $20. And guess what the enemy said?
Give him the dollar. I said, here bud. He said, thank
you. Wow. Another homeless guy was
walking right in front of me and he said, I don't have any
money to give you. I can give you part of what I
got to eat. And he started handing some, I forget what it was, packaged
up. And I said, bud, put that in
your backpack. I gave him 20. And this guy down
there, I don't know a thing about him. I'll never see him again
unless he's in heaven. But he said, God bless you. I said, thank you. He will. And he already has. And I want him, I want them,
I want everybody, whether they got a three-piece suit on or
don't have anything, to have what I got. I'm going to be on
the offense, and so can you. Let's determine we're going to
do it. Let's bow our heads in prayer. Father in heaven, we
love you. You've been so good to us. Thank
you for helping us in this message. Lord, there's so much more Jude
was instructing us in. Perhaps you'll let me go there
tonight in another message. But we cannot allow ourselves
to grow weak. Yes, the battle is there, and
the battle's fierce at times, but greater is he that's in us
than he that's in the world. We're going to build ourselves
up on the word of God. We're praying in the Holy Ghost.
Oh, Holy Ghost, pray for us, pray through us. We're staying
in love, in the love of God, keeping yourselves in the love
of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus. Christ, the
mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. Having compassion,
making a difference, pulling them out of the fire. Help us
to do that, Lord, please. And we thank you. Now, I pray,
dear Lord, that you will just minister to your people today.
Lord, there may be some here who do not know Jesus as their
Savior. How important it is, how important
it is that they know Christ today. Oh, I pray right now, even back
there in their pew, before they ever come forward, back in their
pew, right where they are right at this moment, they'll say,
Lord Jesus, I am a sinner. I believe you died for me, Jesus.
I believe you rose again, Lord Jesus, alive forever in body. You arose in your body alive
forever. And I ask you to forgive me of
my sin and be my Savior. I take you as my Savior. I want
you now. I ask you now. Lord, if they'll
pray that prayer in their own heart or maybe their own words
and mean that, you promised that you would save them. And I know you'll never go back
on your promise. Then, Father, I pray you might
encourage us in this church as believers. Encourage us to go
forward. Encourage us not to be on the
defense all the time, which we must be. We've got to take the
whole armor of God. And we do take it. But we have the offensive weapon
of the sword, the Word of God. Let us go with the armor on into
this world with the Word of God. Let us not be in a state of deserting. We're just going to quit. Let's
not be in a state where we loosen up and let go. We're just going
to blend in and not make a difference. No, no, no, Jesus. Help us, I
pray.
Earnestly Contend for the Faith
Jude encourages us to earnestly contend for the faith. In our day, a biblical stand is increasingly unpopular yet necessary. How can we stand in our days?
