Joy Unleashed: Pursuing the Prize
Series Philippians
The Christian life is active, not passive.
Is this your experience?
Paul the Apostle likened his life to that of a
distance runner, straining for a prize. For the
believer, the prize is not only to be with Christ,
but to be conformed to His very nature.
“I press toward the goal for the prize of
the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 3:14 (NKJV)
Just as an Olympic athlete loses ground by
glancing back, Christians must forget past sins and
failures, knowing they are guiltless in Christ.
Just as an Olympic athlete cannot rest on his
laurels from a previous race, Christians move on
from past achievements and accomplishments,
striving in the moment to live for God’s glory.
