to magnify and glorify. It is a blessing to be able to receive the material that we have received from the Trinitarian Biblical Society. It is a shame that in our country there is not a wider distribution. That distribution has really become difficult in our country and the need is very great of the entire Cuban people to be able to receive the Word of God in a faithful way, translated in a faithful way. We really pray that God helps us in this and the distribution is much greater We pray to God that there may be a greater proliferation of biblical material, of the Scriptures, throughout our country. The Society's great goal and the one aim that was established in our Constitution of 1831 is to circulate the Holy Scriptures throughout the world. We are able to distribute the Scriptures in different ways. We sell the Scriptures to those who can afford to buy them and we also sell the Scriptures at a nominal price in places of the world where it is important for people to give a token amount towards the Bible that they receive so that they will value it and recognize that it is of worth. We are able to grant some of our Bibles. We make sure that when we receive grants applications that we check them thoroughly to make sure that they're not people who are merely trying to obtain the Bible for financial gain. In Cuba, we have a lot of difficulty with the distribution of the Bible. Generally, the Bibles go to Havana, which is the capital of the country. And the churches that usually receive the Bible are the institutional churches. We sometimes find institutional churches in our provinces selling the Bibles, which they give at an overpriced price that sometimes you can't even buy. Once we're satisfied that the grantees are genuine and they understand the need to uphold the basic doctrines of scripture, we then send them the scriptures. Sometimes we may send an individual Bible to a person who needs it and who has asked for it, but on other occasions we may send pallets of boxes of Bibles to the recipients, often shipping them over many thousands of miles, and sometimes the recipients have to wait a long time to get their Bibles. But we know that when the Bibles are unpacked that they are received with great joy, and it is lovely to see the hunger and the thirst for the Word of God. We seek to produce Bibles that are attractive and long-lasting, as we recognize that in many cases, one Bible might have to last a person a lifetime. Each day we receive new requests for grants of scriptures in many languages, and it is our prayer that the Lord will provide the resources we need to meet these demands. Many of the members of the churches have bibles that we have been restoring for more than 10 years. We have been restoring them for more than 10 years. They are very deteriorated because it is difficult to get a new bible so that the members of the church can read and study. And so it is our great privilege and joy to be able to distribute the scriptures and to circulate them as widely as possible, knowing that God will bless his word for his glory and for the furtherance of his kingdom. All thine iniquities, who doth most graciously
A principle aim of the Society is to 'publish and distribute the Holy Scriptures throughout the world in many languages'. Of the approximately 6,500 languages in the world today only about 670 have complete Bibles, and many of those Bibles were produced using unsound translation principles and inferior Biblical language texts. It is the aim of the Society to provide sound, accurate and trustworthy Scriptures to needy souls around the world in as many languages as possible.
Millions of the Trinitarian Bible Society's Bibles and Scripture items are distributed throughout the world each year, either as sales or as grants. Through the generous support of our members and friends, the Lord has enabled us to provide free or subsided copies of His Word to countless individuals and organisations.
