Welcome to one minute ministry bite-sized biblical answers from Armin Tomassian pastor of Calgary free Presbyterian Church So what's the question today Armin? Our question for today is did Jesus Christ have to be man in short? Yes, since the problem of man's sin arises from man The answer to man's sin must arise from man. It would be unjust for God to ask or accept the substitutionary work of one that does not identify with humanity, like an angel or otherwise. It had to be a man that would perfectly live according to the law of God. Our problem is, no man can do that. All have sinned and come short of the glory of God, Romans 3.23. Seeing our plight, God in love sent his Son to be made flesh and dwell among us. being God, the Son of God could do two things that sinful man cannot do, a. live in perfect obedience to the law of God man had broken, and b. offer himself as a substitute in such a way that his suffering would remove man's sin. And so Paul is able to write, for since by man, that's Adam, came death, by man, that's Christ, came also the resurrection of the dead, 1 Corinthians 15 21. This is why Jesus is the only one who can save you. If you have an appetite for God's Word, visit Calgary Free Presbyterian Church this Sunday. For details and more teaching go to calgaryfpc.ca
