This is the Old Trailblazer broadcast. This is Pastor Alvin Finn-Dorvis,
the Old Trailblazer, riding out again at this time, blazing the
path to the hearts of sinners, cutting away the briars and the
brambles and the bushes and all of those things that clutter
up, the error that clutters up the heart. to keep them from
hearing the gospel, to keep them from hearing the truth. And this
is the old trailblazer, Pastor Albert Penn-Darvis, pastor here
at Radio Mission, where the old Voice of Truth broadcast has
gone out for many, many years under the leadership of Pastor
Shelton, before he passed on to glory. And I just praise the
Lord for you who listen, you who write, you who support this
work, getting out the gospel. We're just an old sinner saved
by grace. And the Lord has picked us up,
raised us up, set us up, saved us and give us grace to go forth
without compromise. Do you know if God's messenger
compromises with the Bible, compromising with his audience, they'll never
get saved? No, sir. That's one of the problems we're
facing today is we have a spineless generation of individuals who
stand behind the pulpit and have no spine whatsoever to tell it
like it is. And I tell my young preacher
friend, put a broomstick up your backbone and stand up for what's
true and what's error. Call out error. But we're bringing
you this series of studies. I don't want to get started off
bringing, preaching off something else. We're preaching, preaching,
bringing the message on the revelation And we're looking there at the
Battle of Armageddon. I hope that you are just as interested
in this as I am. And it's been a gracious study
so far. All of these studies are on tape, on CDs, and also
in print. In print, they're free. I'll
be glad to send them to you. The CDs are $5 each. We have
five 15-minute messages on a CD for $5 each. Now, we're looking
at the Battle of Armageddon. Let's look back there. We're
in the 19th chapter of Revelation. in the 17th verse. Now let's
look at the forces which oppose the King of kings and the armies
from heaven as the Lord comes back from heaven with His armies.
John said in the 19th verse, I saw the beast and the kings
of the earth and their armies gather together to make war against
him that sat on the horse, and against his army. We see here
the armies of the west and of the east led by their kings gather
together in the land of Palestine with one purpose, if possible,
and it's not possible, but if it were possible, to keep Christ
from coming back to earth, setting up His kingdom. Oh, what blinded
humanity, what ignorant fools to think that they can win against
the Almighty God. We mentioned that in our last
study. Those of you who won't have God's Word, won't have God
to rule over, you can't win fighting God. Let me tell you a way, Consider.
You can't win in your battle against the Almighty God. Just
stop. Listen. A little finite being pitting
his will up against the will of the omnipotent, you are defeated
before you ever start. I often liken it to when you're
walking down the sidewalk there in the city of New Orleans and
you look down and you see a little black ain't on the sidewalk.
right there, just a little old bitty black ink, and you put
your toe up close to him and he'll rear up on his hind leg,
just like he was going to jump on you. Well, that's about how
a man is against God. You're defeated before you ever
start. Now listen, we see here the millions on the earth are
gathered together to make war against the Christ. The issue
is decided before it ever begins. Yes, before one shot is ever
fired, that one bomb is ever dropped, or one missile is ever
fired. Let's notice how this battle is being fought. Like
David of old, when he marched forth against Goliath, the giant
of the Philistines, he conquers by taking the leader. Oh, yes. So David rides forth from the
open heaven. King David. Go back there and
read that story of David and Goliath. Maybe you haven't read
it in a long, long time. The Philistines were encamped
against Saul in the armies of the Israelites, and little old
King David Little old David, the shepherd boy, told Saul,
he said, I'll fight against this, I'll conquer this uncircumcised
Philistine, and they made fun of him, even his brothers made
fun of him. But he, they finally, Saul allowed him to do it, and
he said he went down, and picked up five smooth stones and put
them in his little bag on his shoulder, and had his sling in
his hand. And he went out to meet the old
giant Goliath. And the giant laughed at him
and asked, Who am I, a dog, to come out here and meet me, like
with a lad, with a slingshot? And listen, but listen, old David
sling one shot. one of those smooth stones."
Oh, what a message there is in those smooth stones! Do you know
why he picked up five stones? Has it ever crossed your mind
why he picked up five stones? It is said, I'm not sure, but
it is said that old Goliath had four brothers, just as vicious,
just as hardened as he was. So David was prepared. Are you
prepared to meet the Lord? Are you? I ask you that in kindness.
But here we see David conquered old Goliath. One stone hit him
right between the eyes, sunk deep into his skull, and David
ran over there, pulled his sword out of his scabbard, and cut
off old Goliath's head. Oh, but listen now. Here's the
battle. Here's the battle. We see our King David rides forth
from the open heaven, the first thing he does, there in verse
20, is to march forth and take the beast, and the Antichrist,
and his companion, the false prophet. How does he take him?
He does not say. But he rides forth, and in view
of the whole army he lays hold upon those two leaders who have
deceived the whole world, and without any trouble leads them
captive. It says here they were both cast
alive, into the lake of fire, burning with brimstone. Now I
know that maybe many of my hearers, I know that many whom I speak
to on a regular basis, do not believe in an everlasting hell. They do not believe that the
Lord will send anyone to hell. I wish they'd go there and read
where it says a rich man lift up his eyes in hell. Then I tell
you oftentimes If you don't believe God's Word, you might as well
go on to hell for your trouble. Did you know you can't get saved
if you don't believe God's Word? No. The Bible says, Ye shall
know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. But here
we see the Lord had no problem casting these two into the lake
of fire, these two who had been raised from the dead, those two
resurrected beings who had come up from the pit, Satan incarnated,
Christ arrests them, takes them alive, and in the presence of
all of their followers casts them alive into the lake of fire
which burning with fire and brimstone. These supernatural beings, men
resurrected from the dead by the devil's power, are not slain. No sword smites them, but they
do not die. They are taken alive and cast
into the lake of fire. Their worshippers had helped
them to be invincible. They had said, Who is like unto
the beast? Who can make war against him? But without striking a blow,
with all his worshippers in arms around him, he is taken captive,
dragged from the field of battle, a helpless prisoner with all
his power. all his greatness gone, with
all his resistance broken, his armies cannot help him, and he
goes down to the pit alive. Now what happens to the vast
armies gathered there in the land of Palestine under their
leadership, under his leadership, under the leadership of the Antichrist?
It says here in verse 21, They were slain with the sword
of him that set on the horse, which sword proceeded out of
his mouth. Those who follow the Lord Jesus
Christ do not have to say a word. They do not have to lift the
sword. But with one stroke of the sword of judgment, which
comes from the mouth of the Son of God, the armies are smitten
as one man until blood flows two hundred miles to the depths
of the horse's bridle. Oh, what a valley of slain men! What a carnage, what slaughter! The Lord Jesus Christ walks victorious
over the battlefield. Do you see why the angel had
to call the birds of prey out of the fields, out of the sky,
to come there? Then the vultures of the air
came forth for the supper of the great God, and as set forth
in the eighteenth verse--" Now listen, listen to this eighteenth
verse. of the nineteenth chapter, they
ate the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh
of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sat
on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both
small and great. And it says in the twenty-first
verse, all the fowls were filled with their flesh. What a supper!
The vultures of the air make a clean sweep of the entire battlefield. Let me call your attention to
the word flesh. It is mentioned five times in
verse 18 and once in verse 21. The world to-day is calling for
flesh, flesh, flesh, pleasures of the flesh, You cannot turn
on the television. You cannot read the newspaper.
You cannot open a magazine. You cannot stand in the checkout
line of the supermarket without seeing nakedness. Nakedness on
every hand is flesh, my friend, flesh. So God one day will give
this world what she wants, flesh. But what an end it comes to!
The Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord God of heaven, does not take
pleasure in such destruction. But He is forced to clear the
world of every rebel, every enemy, that His saints may enjoy His
presence, and that He might be glorified. in his saints, and
admired in all them that believed. What a blessing and a joy to
know Christ as Savior and Lord. So I ask you at this time, as
we come to the close of that particular study on the battle
of Armageddon, do you know the Lord? Do you know the Lord, my
friend? I ask folks, I say, where are
you going to spend eternity? They say, in hell with my friends.
They have some kind of notion that hell, that there'll be pleasure
in hell. They have some kind of notion
that there'll be, like these billboards you see up on the
highway, two or three young men sitting around a campfire, and
they said, can't get no better than this. Well, my friend, it
won't be like that in hell. Oh, no, it won't be any good
times in hell. It'll only be weeping and wailing
and gnashing of teeth. no matter how great nor how small. You saw here how the greatest
archenemy of the Lord Jesus Christ was cast. alive for the end of
the fire and the brimstone which burneth forever and ever. So
how are you going to stand, my friend? What is the basis of
your hope? You say, well, Trailblazer, what's
the basis of your hope? I tell you, Christ died, Christ
buried, Christ rose, Christ seated at the right hand of God as my
intercessor, as my redeemer. Well, what do you mean by all
that, Trailblazer? I mean that one day the Lord
showed me that I was a wicked sinner. wicked as hell, wicked
as it come, and yet he showed me that, gave me a cry against
it, let me see that I was headed for the pit, I was headed for
the devil's hell, I was headed for right where these two individuals
were sent. And then the Lord gave me a cry,
O Lord, Lord, would you save me? He showed me that Christ
died for me. Did he die for you? Are you resting
on Christ? Can you sing that song, On Christ
a solid rock I stand, All of the ground is sinking sand. Can
you sing that? On Christ's solid rock I stand,
all of the ground is sinking sand. And then can you sing that
song, like old John Newton, Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound, that
saved a wretch like me? I once was lost, but now am found,
was blind, but now I see. When we've been there ten thousand
years, bright shining as the sun, we've no less days to sing
God's praise than when we first begun. Did you know what heaven
will be singing praises unto the Lord? You say, well, we get
tired. No. How can you get tired? How can
you get tired of praising the one who died for you? Christ
shed his blood there on Calvary's cross, my friend. He was nailed
to that old way rugged cross. Yes, sir. He was nailed there.
and for me, and for you, if you'd come to him. Oh, I ask you, is
there any desire in your heart to know the Lord? Don't stop.
Don't look around, see what Uncle Joe's doing. No, sir. Come on
to the Lord. Forget everything else, and come
on to know the Lord. If you do that, the Lord will
save you. This is the Old Trailblazer. Remember my mailing address?
