We begin reading verse number 9 to 12. Deuteronomy chapter 18, verses number, there are several other verses that we would like to see tonight. Deuteronomy chapter 18, verses number 9 to 12. 18 verses number 9 to 12. When Thou art come into the land, Moses was giving instruction to the children of Israel. Deuteronomy is considered a book of review. Moses was about to die and he was talking to the new generation, those who were born and raised in the wilderness they were about to cross Jordan River so here are some instructions that Moses gave verse 9 again when thou art come into the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations They shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, and that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits or a wizard or a necromancer and for all verse number 12 that do these things are an abomination unto the Lord and because of these abominations the Lord thy God that drive them out from before thee. Deuteronomy chapter 4 verse 19 Deuteronomy chapter 4, verse number 19, 419, And lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, and when thou seest the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the hosts of heaven, shouldest be driven to worship them, and serve them which the Lord thy God hath divided unto all nations under the whole heaven. Deuteronomy 19 verse 25. Deuteronomy chapter 19 verses 25 to 28. There is need for us to be strong in our faith, to share our faith, and lord help us to know the truth tonight in jesus name we pray amen and amen i'm speaking a subject this evening the word of god versus the occult letter o double c u l t the occult the word of god versus the occult question would be Would it be right to try to talk, communicate with the spirits of dead loved ones? We know it this week that some people go, they have been led to believe that somehow this week is the time wherein dead spirits, the spirits of the departed loved ones would commune with the living. They had the chance to have communion with them. That is why people bring food to the cemeteries, to the tomb of their loved ones. And they would even write prayer requests. And they would address the prayer to their dead loved ones. And besides from praying for them, they also pray to them. And they would say, well, pa, ang imong anak diri na sakit pa, ayog kalimti pa ha, And if a young child, a baby had died, they would say, ikaw ang mong anghel, mabantay sa moha. Remember this, angels would never become humans, nor humans would become angels. And so, no matter how old it is inside the womb, that will never become an angel. And so, period. So, there are many people who have lost loved ones, who would desperately, I say, they have lost loved ones who would desperately like to be able to talk with them again, or to receive messages from them. And this desire is, I say to a certain level, we say this is understandable, but contacting, remember this, contacting the dead is not permitted by God. Amen? You may have a strong desire, wanting to communicate with them, wanting to receive some messages from them, but remember this, according to the Bible, According to the Bible, contacting the dead is not permitted by God. And according to the Bible, the attempt is a sin against God. And it would result in either deception or involvement with demonic entities entities, I mean, impersonating the dead. And so look at what happened to King Saul. His, I mean, his desire was to see, wanting to see Prophet Samuel who had died already. And as a result it was not Samuel who showed up, it was the devil impersonating Samuel. Some people would have said that They said that during the death of their father or mother, they may look like your loved ones, but they are no longer there. Why? Because as it is appointed unto men, once to die, but after this, the judgment. If they are saved, to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. The devil is master, is the master of deception. So we call it the devil impersonating the dead. Remember Satan, always remember this, is the master of deception. 1 Samuel 28, look at verse number 6 please. 1 Samuel 28, verse number 6. 28, 1 Samuel. became 1 Samuel 20, 28 and verse number 6. It says there, and when Saul inquired of the Lord whether to go to war or not, he asked the Lord, which was a useful thing for kings before to inquire from the servant of the Lord, the prophet, and the Lord answered him not. neither by dreams, nor by orim, nor by prophets. Then said Solon to his servant, Seek me a woman which hath familiar spirit, that I may go to her and inquire of her. Instead of praying to the Lord, remember this, the Lord did not answer him. And his servant said to him, Behold, there is a woman that hath familiar spirit, at Endor. Saul disguised himself put on adorament and went and two men with him they came to the woman who was doing a spirit of the ghost thing like that crystal ball thing so he went two men with him and they came to the woman by night and he said I pray the divine unto me by the familiar spirit and bring me up whom I shall name unto thee. And the woman said unto him, Behold, thou knowest what Saul hath done, how he hath cut off those that have familiar spirits and wizards out of the land. Therefore, then layest thou a snare for my life to cause me to die. Saul sweared to whereby by the Lord, saying, As the Lord liveth, there shall no punishment happen to thee for this thing. And this then said the woman, Whom shall I bring up? Like the spirit of the grass, like a crystal ball thing. And whom, he said, shall I bring up unto thee? And he said, Bring me up Samuel, Prophet Samuel. And when the woman saw Samuel, she saw it but not King Saul. It was only her who said she saw Samuel. She cried with a loud voice and the woman spake to Saul saying, Why hast thou deceived me? For thou art Saul. And the king said, behold, I'm not, I'll be not afraid for what thou sowest. And the woman said unto Saul, I saw God's ascending out of the earth. Can you imagine the work of the devil here? There's one thing I'd like to settle here. He was wanting to see Samuel, went to see a woman with a diviner, one with a spirit of divination. And the woman said she saw Samuel. The Lord at first did not answer him. But there's one thing, for sure it was not Samuel. It was the devil, whatever she saw. And it was the devil impersonating. He used Samuel's name to repute all the doctrines of the Bible. Now, to prove my point here, chapter 15, 1 Samuel 15, look at verse number 34. Chapter 15, verse number 34. He rebuked, Samuel rebuked King Saul for disobeying the Lord. And 34, 15-34, you know what happened after he rebuked King Saul? And Saul said to Samuel, he said, here, I have seen for I have transgressed the commandment of the Lord and thy words, because I feared the people and obeyed their voice. Now therefore I pray thee, pardon my sin, and turn again with me, that I may worship the Lord. And it goes on there in verse number, Samuel turned about to go away, and he laid hold upon the skirt of his mantle, and it ran. Samuel said unto him, the Lord hath rent the kingdom of Israel from thee. He has taken back the kingdom from you. And to make the story short here, in verse number 33 Samuel said, as the Lord, as thy sword hath made women childless, should thy mother be childless? and look at this place in verse 34 then Samuel went to Ramah and Saul went up to his house they parted to Gibeah of Saul verse 35 note please while he was still alive this is what happened Samuel came no more to see Saul they parted that day and never again never again Kung wala siya magpakita na buhi, kasi how much more na karoon, patay na siya. And she cried when she saw, she said, she saw Samuel. It was not Samuel at all. Remember this. So, the devil is the master of deception. All Saints Day and All Souls Day has led so many people into believing that it is time to commune, to communicate, even pray to the dead. Having the chance to pray to them. And now this sin, number one, in general is described in the Bible as the sin of the occult. letter O double C U L T occult the sin of the occult it is sin mentioned in the Old Testament and then the history actually of the occult is almost as old as man the history of the occult is almost as old as man and astrology traces its origins to ancient Chaldea and Babylon shortly after the flood, ancient Egyptian writings are still the source books for witchcraft until now. A simple definition for a cult is occult is or of or pertaining to magic. This is part of it. Magic, astrology, and other alleged sciences claiming use or knowledge of secret, mysterious, or supernatural agencies. Actually what they did was they are offering people to be able to make contacts to the other world. They can connect themselves to the world of the dead. It's the same thing today, all saints' day and all souls' day. You get the chance to communicate with them. That is totally a big lie. Amen? And now, this source of their alleged knowledge is not of God. Remember this. It's not of God. Sir, when I was carrying that, Christians stay away from quack doctors because they are purely of the devil. Amen? Stay away from quack doctors. And so It's getting late at night. It's 6 o'clock. This source of their alleged knowledge is not of God and His Word, but some dark, mysterious, and concealed source. But you know what the devil told them? Go beyond God. You become like God. And when you go to these people, these kind of people, you forget God. Begin to trust them. When you engage yourself, you go to these people, And because you have to decide to communicate with your dead loved ones. Remember this. God has given us the Holy Spirit. I don't care what happens tomorrow. I may not be able to know what the future lies for me. But I know there is God who takes care of me. I don't have to crave knowing the future. I don't need somebody telling me about the future. God is my future. God is my provider. God expects his people to stand strong and defend the truth. Occultism is totally helpless. It's of the devil. It cannot help us. Begin to trust God. Begin to believe God. Begin to trust your life in the hands of God. Let us all stand up please. Heavenly Father, thank you Lord for the Word of God tonight. Thank you for allowing us to give up all those traditions, the practices that are not found in the Bible. Help us to live by faith. Never to be afraid of anything that the devil may plea on us. We trust you Lord, you are a great provider, protector. If God be for us, who can be against us? Blessed tonight in Jesus name I pray, amen and amen.
